Chapter Three

"Happy Birthday, Mom" A small raven headed boy exclaimed as he wrapped his arms around Regina tightly.

There she sat, in front of a small cake on the table, highlighting her name in red icing. She was thirty seven this year. Yet she couldn't wait for the next year.

"Thank you, My little Prince." She smiled warmly at the small boy, and engulfed him in a tight embrace.

"Make a wish, sis." The redhead emerged from the kitchen towards the two brunettes.

"It's the least I could do." The brunette joked, as she closed her eyes, and blew out several candles. Cheering from Zelena and Henry came from the other side of the table. Along with small giggles from baby Robin, in the redheads arms.

Henry made his way to the table after nipping to get a small wrapped gift from the living room.

"I made this for you, Mom." He smiled, handing the small gift over.

"Why, thank you." His mother replied, acting shocked at the sudden act of kindness.

Opening the gift, there was a ring. She recognised this. She would from anywhere.

"Henry. Is this D-" She started.

"Daddy's ring to you. I remember you lost it, but I found it and now you have it again." The light from his smile could've filled the room. The brunette mirrored the boys smile and began to feel tears prickle her eyes.

"Henry. It's beautiful. Thank you, Darling." The brunette soothed. Taking the ring from the box and placing it on her ring finger. Missing the coldness that stayed there before.

In traffic on the highway, Regina impatiently taps her fingers on the steering wheel. There's no way she's able to be late to work. On a Monday.

Letting out a deep sigh, she sits at her desk. Shrugging off the black jacket she wore her her outfit. She had to throw on a black tight skirt along with a red silk blouse. One thing about Regina Mills. Is she never came under dressed to any occasion.

After spending at least thirty minutes on a payment check that needed to be sorted, she made her way to the safe deposit room, and began to write out a check. When her thoughts were interrupted by the ring of her phone. Taking a deep breath, she held it to her ear.

"Regina Mills, speaking."

"Hello, Regina.I'm Julia from Galas Salon. I'm calling to confirm your 3:00 appointment." The speaker stated. Regina eyebrows furrowed. When has she ever been to that salon?

"I'm sorry, you have the wrong number." Regina added.

"Oh, is this Regina Barbara Mills?" The woman on the line proceeded.

"Yes. I'm sorry, where is this call coming from?" The brunette questions politely.

"Winter park, Florida."

"Right, well. You're mistaken. How did you posses this number, might I ask?" She questioned further.

"Well ma'am, you didn't leave one when you booked the appointment, so we googled you."

Contemplatingin confusion, she heard a knock on the door. The brunette abruptly hung up, and began to collect the checks needed, leaving the room in the process.

Meanwhile, In Florida's, Winter Park a mysterious blonde dawdled around the massaging chair. Until the manager came out and spoke about the price range. However, due to him taking forever she took the pleasure in trying the sofa out. Accidentally falling into a deep slumber.

"Ma'am.." A man approached in a branded uniform. Which must only mean it's the manager.

The blonde didn't budge. Still in a deep sleep with her mouth wide open, letting out a loud snore.

Poking her arm, attempting to find a reaction from the sleeping blonde.

"Ma'am." He poked her once more.

"Oh shit!" She jumped up, and fell off the sofa. Groaning in pain as she lay on the white tiled floor.

"Sorry, your card was declined." He stated, holding the card towards the woman.

"Oh yeah.." she pulled out the debit card from her back pocket, handing it to the bald man above her.

In front of the mirror, there stands Henry and Regina, both brushing their teeth. She rinses her mouth and kisses the boy in the head.

"Remember that Auntie Zelena, will be picking you up from school today. Okay, honey?" She smiled, and picked up her keys, travelling downstairs and waited at the door for a...

"Yes, mom!" A young Henry yelled from upstairs.

The same old daily routine in humming melodies in the car. A small beeping sound came from her fuel metre.

Pulling over into the nearby gas station, she adds the gas and swipes her card into the machine outside.

*Card Declined*

It read on the small screen. Growing suspicion, she heading into the gas station to talk to the attendant about the issue.

"Hello, I've just refilled my gas, and there must be something wrong with the account. It's stating that my card is declined." She says the the man behind the glass box.

He takes the card, and swipes it in the small cash register.

"Thank you." She prompts, lifting her hand to take the card from the man.

"I've got to cut the card, ma'am." He shrugs.

"What are you saying? There's nothing wrong with my card." She bites out. She's had just about enough.

"That's not what it says right here." He points to the register.

"Well perhaps you and your company should pay for a new register, as that clearly isn't working." She points out. "Give me my card, I'll find somewhere else." She snaps.

Snip.

One half of the card falls on the counter. The other piece in the mans hand.

"Go and pay your bills, lady." He retorts back. Causing the brunettes eyes to widen. She grabs her purse and storms out of the station.
