~~~CHAPTER 3~~~~
I walk from my family, across the Rez to Jacob Black's house, knowing that Billy would be able to tell me more about what all is happening. I didn't even get the chance to knock before Jacob was out the door wrapping me in his arms.
"I had a hunch you were here." He says as he sets me on my feet and pulls me into the red house. I smile at Billy as I sit at the kitchen table and he smiles back.
"What can I do for you Bells?" Jake asks and I growl softly.
"I need to know why Sam Uley is still the Alpha and I need to know why the Pack or the Elders haven't thrown out that whore Emily. We all know they are not imprinted since I am his Soul Bond. So why has no one done anything about it?" Jake takes a deep breath and Billy gives me a nod as he wheels himself out of the room. I raise an eyebrow at my childhood best friend and he looks away from me as he begins to speak, "Sam isn't the Alpha anymore. He and I fought it out when you and Leah left. We fought for hours, I guess until you passed the state line and the Soul Bond made him buckle. The only reason we haven't gotten rid of her yet, is because the Elders believe more in the Imprint Bond than they do the Soul Bond. The journals only talk about the Soul Bond once and not all of the passage is even there, so they don't see it as real. I've made sure that Old Quil won't officiate their wedding and they don't want an official law abiding wedding anyway, so their screwed and very pissed off."
I stand and begin to pace across the tiny kitchen, lost in thought about what he told me, when he steps into my path.
"I'm thinking of sending both of you on a spirit journey with Old Quil. Sam's been so distant and off since you've been gone. I think time away from Emily will give you both time to figure out what is going on." I lean against the wall as I think about it.
"If it's okay with you, I would rather go see Old Quil on my own. I want to see if he has any idea why Sam is being so weird and if there is anything I can do to help get him back." He nods at me, and I hug him before I head to the third beach, where Old Quil keeps his hut.
