It was the next day before Walter came up for air. A grim expression across his face that put absolutely nobody at ease. Conner had stood in the corner of the room and watched as Walter's Lady friend fed him forkful by forkful of dinner while he continued to work. Paige explained to Conner that if she hadn't then he would've starved himself if he worked long enough- and had done in the past. Walter was certainly determined.
"It's going to take a while for me to sort this out and because of the nature of our relationship I'm having to get a second party involved- otherwise it might come back to bite us in the arse later." He exclaimed. "Its obvious to me that Layering software has been used to create false evidence against you- but proving that is another thing". He didn't add that he recognised it as his own software "Someone has also added false information to your records. Until its rectified I'm afraid you're on house arrest- it'll likely take me about a week to sort."
Sean was livid "A week! Is this something to do with you?! Funny how you show up just as this happens!" Paige shook her head "Us being here is more luck then judgement, he wasn't going to come. He said he didn't want to be where he wasn't welcome- I convinced him to offer the olive branch" she stated. Walter nodded "I recognise the software" he admitted "but I don't recognise the code. But looking at this you are far from the only Irish citizen that's been targeted." He said as Paige cut in "But a week is good..." she insisted "after the whole Bagdad situation it took 7 years for Cabe to get the indecent exposure record Walter hacked into his record!" Walter tried and failed not to look smug about that.
Louise though was still fixated on what Paige had said before "You think you're unwanted?" She whispered mournfully "Yes" Walter said simply. "I was a burden because I wasn't normal" he finished sadly. Louise gasped as she broke down in tears, she hit Sean on the shoulder as she cried out "That's why my boy never called! He thought he was unloved!" She weeped. Sean's face softened as he comforted his distressed wife- he faced Walter as he held Louise close. "You were always wanted Son, you were a pain in the arse.." he admitted "but we always loved you- still do in fact."
For the first time in a very long time Walter smiled at his parents.
But the mystery was still out there- who was it that had targeted his Father? And to what end?
