A/N: Just a heads up, I'll be twisting the canon/characters a little in this story. Not so much as to make it almost a different story, but enough to warrant a quick mention. No, I still don't own anything from the Nagatoro franchise.
BlackDragon829: Glad to hear that. And that's not a bad suggestion. I'll probably use it later on. Thanks!
Shininglegacy22: Yeah, so far there aren't all that many. Guess I'm contributing, though. Now that you mention it, I don't think birthdays have been covered, so I'll definitely look into doing one of those. And I might give a jealousy fanfic a try. Thanks for the suggestions!
"Toro-chan, want to go swimming? The club's not meeting tonight, so the school pool's fair game!"
"Sounds good. Should we invite the others?"
"Already did! It'll be great! I'll bring some diving toys to help with breath control as well."
"Great. Should we let Senpai in on the fun?" Nagatoro deviously asked.
"Only if you want. After all, he's your friend," Sakura replied before running off to class.
As the day went by, Nagatoro forgot to ask Senpai about joining them for a swim. But even if she did remember, he probably would have said no, so asking was pointless.
"Hey Hayachi, ready to get your ass kicked in a race?" Gamo prodded in the changing room.
"Sorry Gamo, but that's not going to happen."
The four girls left the changing room and stepped into the pool.
"Hmm, someone left a water bottle," Gamo muttered. She went over and picked it up. "Unopened. Maybe-" she started when someone broke through the water on the other side of the pool. "Oh, I guess it's theirs." She put it down and rejoined the other three.
"Man, here I thought we were going to have the pool to ourselves," Nagatoro complained as she hopped in the water.
"They'll probably stay away and do their own thing, so I don't think we need to worry about him," Sakura offered. The three girls hopped in, ignoring the boy on the other side of the pool. He went back underwater and reemerged about a minute later by the water bottle.
"So Hayachi, you couldn't get Paisen to join in today?"
"No, I forgot to ask. It slipped my mind."
"What a shame. I was looking forward to having fun."
"Fun!" Yoshi squealed, causing the boy at the wall to flinch. He turned around to face the group, only to be met with gasps from the four girls.
"Senpai?" Nagatoro questioned. The person's hair was flat and watered down, but the hair color and facial features were unforgettable.
"Oh, uh...hey," he nervously offered.
"What're you doing here Paisen?"
"I'm swimming, I guess."
"But, I thought you didn't like swimming?"
"That was when you all invited me to the beach. I like pools a lot better, especially when there's no one else," the boy explained.
"What's the difference?" Nagatoro asked as the group swam closer to the older boy.
"It's...it'll be easier to show you, I guess. Just, take a deep breath and hold it, then duck under the water for a few seconds."
Despite the odd instructions, the four decided to humor him and did as he said.
"I still don't get it," Gamo said when she and the others came up.
"I didn't expect you to. For me, pools like this have always been an escape. There's no loud conversations, no one telling you what to or not to do. The water envelopes you completely, and nothing else matters. In a sense, being underwater is like my own personal still life."
"So... do you do this in the bathtub as well?" Gamo asked with her usual grin.
"Bathtub boy!" Yoshi shouted.
"No, I don't," he muttered, then swam back to his water bottle.
The four girls went back to playing around with the occasional break to torment the poor soul. Sakura and Gamo took turns pulling him under, which resulted in Nagatoro needing to help pull him from their grips.
"You know Senpai, you're pretty lucky to be the only guy with four girls in swimsuits," Nagatoro joked after pulling him back up for the third time.
"I don't see how I'm lucky given at least two have almost killed me three times," the teen replied. "I have to head home. I'll see you tomorrow." He had almost completely pulled himself onto the edge of the deck when Nagatoro reached up and pulled him under.
A few seconds later he came up, sputtering for air, and was met with his kohai's laughter.
"See you later, Senpai!" she offered while swimming back to her friends, who were also laughing.
Inside the changing room, he made a mental note to bring goggles and a swimming cap next time.
If there was a next time.
A/N: So this turned out decent, I think. I do most of these in one go, so they may not have a well-polished feel to them. Still, I hope you enjoyed! The next one is on the way soon. Leave a review and have a good day. See ya!
