Chapter 1: Bear Kid and The Sleuths

One sound of a strum opened a gate to the nice neighborhood, only to be landed in the barnyard of sorts. "Ughh, where are we?" Katie called to me
"I'm not sure... sorry, but ever since Killjoy took a piece of my soul, he destroyed all the strings I've made, or so I've heard. Right now, I guess we're in a Cul-de-sac in the street of... "Peach Creek"." I explained to her as a bunch of barn animals bundled together to meet a new visitor. The cow nuzzled on Katie's cheek and licked her face, the pig snorted at something as he tried to tackle her, the goat is desperately trying to eat her watch but she held it up high so he won't reach it. The chickens however felt like they've found a new friend to play with, "Aww... it's almost like a petting zoo"
"What are you doing Katie?" I asked her
"I'm not sure, they like me somehow" she pet them at their heads as a plank board watches them interacting with the animals
"I get a feeling that we're being watched, but let's go ahead and explore" I told her to get ahead with my plan and say goodbye to the animals
As we both head to the center, we saw a bunch of kids around in their young teen age standing around while clapping. Interestingly, I decided to stay and hear from the stage.
"Look, I bet it's good old Carl!" A boy with a green shirt with spandex bicycle shorts looked at me for a minute like I am the joke around here
"Hel-lo? You are talking to the wrong Carl!" The short snarky guy with a jerk-like personality shouted at the crowd
"I know Dork, is that one of your dirty tricks for your scam"
He yanked my arm hard and made the appendage completely fall off, "DUDE!" He screamed
"Hey, you are stealing the ground-shaking performance here for the Ed-boys, and what's with the necromantic bear corpse that is repulsive to the eyes of the son of a shepherd!" A tall teen who is basically a immigrant shouts angrily at the zombie-like being in front of him
"No no wait! He's just a toy! A toy bear waltzing around, sorry about that everyone, my name is Katie" she confessed
"What are you doing Katie" I whispered
"Saving your reputation here" she whispered back
"Well, I didn't know you're into horror monster movie stuff, Ed might like you cause he's a fanatic towards that" a blonde girl said while she's smiling
"Really, thanks!" She smiled
"I'm Nazz by the way, this boy on the bike is Kevin" Nazz points her hand to the green shirted kid named Kevin, "sup!"
"The son of the shepherd there is Rolf" She continued
"Rolf has not seen a fine beauty in a different form of lines! As you know, life has many doors!" Rolf speaks with kindness towards her
"Now over on the right is Jimmy, the kid with braces on his teeth. Right beside him is Sarah, she can control her anger around Nonfictioners, cause whenever that happens, she tried to not make them run away with an uncomfortable feeling." Nazz explained to Katie
"That's understandable, but this happens whenever Nonfictioners are present?" she added
"Yeah, she has to face the consequences for yelling at Antonucci for making her the most annoying character in our world" Nazz nodded
"Are you talking about my brother now?" The short guy said with annoyance
"Oh yeah, I've forgot! This is Eddy, my boyfriend right now, Kevin has an item with his bike" she said to Katie
"I hear that Nazz! I don't have romantic feelings for my ride!" Kevin felt frustrated with the fact that he does care more about his bike
"The one who wears a black hat is Double D, or Edd with two D's" she said as she pointed to Double D with a rabbit costume
"Nice to meet you guys" Katie greeted them
"Nice to meet you too Katie, we were going to show Ed but he's not here yet" Double D said
"What's the deal Sockhead? Why did Lumpy never show up!?" Eddy felt annoyed by it, "and it was a nonprofit scam"
"I know we've changed Eddy, but I have a feeling that there's something wrong happening here" Double D swallowed in fear I shrugged off the crowd to see the backstage. There are band instruments that she can use, but I need more members to play the songs and beats
"This can fit well" a soft voice has been made within the instrument pile, as I looked into it, a small creature with neon green hair and yellow skin. The hair is magical like Rapunzel's hair but with a stretchy twist. The clothes he wore are based of the feudal era Japan clothing.
"You there!" I called out to him
"Please, I wanted to participate in the talent show!" The small guy begged
"Talent show?" I asked
"Yeah, The Eds here are planning a talent show for the neighborhood here and I followed all the way here to join in!" He explained, "my name is Jodan, meaning "Jest" in my country's language. I am a troll from a different tribe that relies on music of a different way than magic music strings. Dragons!"
"Dragons? That's cool. What do they normally do in your country?" I asked
"Well our traditional music dragon exists for the longest periods of time until she died by laying the egg of the similar dragon, fulfilling her duty. Until the dragon lays three eggs and lived, the eggs were hatched differently from the different parts of the country they've landed, it caused our island to be split into an archipelago and our separate clans became new tribes that survived with that music alone. They've became J-Noice, J-Rock, and J-Pop, and now Traditional J, combination of classical and country, is starting to dwindle within our prefectures as they are influenced by the other tribes that are from across the sea, dad wanted to preserve it and I wanted to learn from the other tribes..." Jodan said
"What happened to you?" I asked him
"Well... my old man exiled me until I understand my place in this world" he shrugged
"Aww that's sad, I would give the little troll a big hug" A big teen with a black unibrow, a filthy green jacket, old shoes, and baggy pants embraced the miniature being.
"Let go of me you Kaiju" Jodan struggled
"You mean Godzilla kaiju? This giant monster roam the nuclear power plants and blasted his mortal enemies with his atomic fire blast!" The teen talked fanatically as he admired b-movie monsters, "he's so cool!"
"And stars in plenty of anime and slice of life manga" Jodan added
"What's an anime? Is it something Double D was working on?" He said
"Who's he?" I asked him
"He's my best bud along with Eddy! And I normally share my Chicky magazines with them, but what can I say, I love chickens!" He smiled
"Hey Ed, can Plank and I hang out with you for a while?" A bald buzz-cut kid carrying a piece of board with drawn eyes and mouth stood in front of the drums smiled at me with a strange desire
"Oh hi Jonny, and hello Plank!" Ed greeted them with his kindhearted nature
"Who is this dog thing?" Jonny asked, "he pretty much looks like my old Halloween costume"
"I AM NOT A DOG THING! I AM A BEAR!" I snarled at Jonny with my bare teeth
"Cool. You sure are scary for an anime guy Mr. Bear Mutant!" Ed complimented me for my fierceness
"I admire that nickname, thank you, but I hate that guy for calling me a bear" I said angrily towards Jonny
"Wait! Don't blame me, Plank said that he thought you were a dog and I wanted to give you a treat!" Jonny confessed
"Don't tell me that plank board can communicate with you as his mediator?" Jodan placed his hand on his face to embrace the cringe of what's coming
"Plank noticed that new girl and the bear earlier before we've met. It was he who wanted to meet you" Jonny explained
"Well it is nice to meet you, now we need a drummer for my band, and speaking of which... we don't have a band name yet" I mumbled
"What shall we do, I did my professional hair tricks in a Casio piano, but we need those two things. I think we should call Oni-Slaying Bears!" Jodan suggested
"What about 'Bear Mutants from The Planet Bearlyworld'!" Ed also suggested
"Nay, those two sounded horrible, you got something better kid?" I asked Jonny
"Plank has one!" said Jonny, "He heard this tip from Double D the other day and he learned about what to call a group of bears. He called it, 'Bear Kid and The Sleuths!'"
"I liked it!" Katie called from behind them
"Sweet! This neighborhood does need a few more girls to love!" Jonny flirted with her
"Sorry, my heart belongs to someone else" she denied his offer
"Aww... well at least I'm also boardsexual huh?" He looked at his friend in his hands while he draws blushed cheeks in Plank
"Well since we have no permanent drummer, I can fill the part" I answered, "you should hold onto my guitar Katie, so I can take over the drumming"
"But what about singing?" She asked
"I can sing!" Ed suggested
"Yeah, but don't you know any song that you can remember?" I asked
"Your Love!" Ed answered
"That song?" I said
"Yes. A Nonfictioner said that this singer sung the same as Ed. Can I do it?" He explained
"Okay! You do sound like that" I declared, "let's go!"
"Hey, but what about me?" Katie halted them
The small arms pop out which startled her a bit, and begins to tune the guitar and playing the strings a bit, "oh yeah, don't worry about playing, Jester can handle it" I explained to her

"And now, a group of friends who met this strange teddy bear toy, joined together with a blast from the past! Give it up for 'Bear Kid and The Sleuths'!" Eddy announced as the band is ready to perform, I now begin to clash the drumsticks, "one, two, three, four!"
Ed started singing "Your Love" by The Outfield
The crowd was mesmerized by Ed's performance that Kevin has his eyes away from his bike, now's the chance I thought as I tore off my limbs remotely to continue drumming by attaching to a blue bear dummy. I wander in the dark as I stumbled upon the silver bicycle and ate the front part of it, cause I don't want to waste metal. Soon after consuming it, I throw the bike in the barnyard we came through and went back to the stage to keep playing
Soon as the song ends, everyone cheered. Ed is happy with the loud crowd that he smiled proudly. His friends are surprisingly proud of him, so does his little sister, or as he like to call her, baby sister.
"No wonder you didn't show up, you're behind this thing the whole time... I guess this makes you guys the winners then, but it's not over yet! Next up, we have Kevin and his amazing bike trip!" Eddy announced as he continued the show
"Is there a prize involved?" I asked
"Nope, it's more of a charity event" Double D explained
"Well then, Katie. Let's get going then" I declared
"Don't you forget something?" Jodan frowned as they're about to leave
"Oh right, you want to tag along with us. Okay, you are pretty skilled with the Casio piano, let's get your things ready!" I added
"I might!" Jodan smiled
"Can I join you?" Ed asked
"What? Are you simping for me now?" I wondered
"What's 'Simping'?" Ed asked again
"This is way different than teaching a monster king and an old deranged inventor about anime... alright! You can come along!" I told him
"YAYYYY!!!!" He laughed and hugged all three of them
"Wait! Check out from here!" Kevin yelled as he went to Rolf's backyard to find his bike
"Good lord! I was led to believe that Ed has finally found the difference between digestible and indigestible foods but why did he ate Kevin's bike?" Double D shouted as he observed it
"I know you guys are innocent and you don't actually have any threat towards my bike, but it definitely something other than a goat!" Kevin explained
"Of course, Kevin cannot blame Rolf's livestock! This must be the work of Bearly Ed-boy!" Rolf suggested
"You think a toy is responsible for this Rolf?" Sarah frowned
"I think we should Sarah! The bear is pretty scary looking" Jimmy shook with fear as he recalled me
"Do you think Katie might fit in with this theory?" Nazz asked
"There's only one way" Eddy called to the Bear Kid headquarters for answers

Bearin was sweeping the kitchen floor as a French bulldog snores in his bed. She is wearing an apron filled with baby toys and remedies for her kitten, Wiccanyan.
Wiccanyan is a plum-colored kitten and has a passion for crystal based magic by her drawing and her magic skills inherited from her parents. She was named after Paganyan's late mother, who once gave birth to him and died from the time of his delivery.
She is crawling to Lightning, who is the dog guardian of Bearin. The purple cat and Nagisa didn't go well when he got the teacher job, and her bonding with past darkus brawlers don't help either. She was paired up with Lightning cause when she was little, she was afraid of dogs. Beargamot brought him over to show Bearin that dogs can be likable if they like your favorite things. She definitely decided to have him as her guardian as well as his shared owners.
"Doggie..." Wiccanyan cooed to the dog as he licked her
"Up to the high chair, your majesty" Bearin lifted her daughter upward to her chair
"It's no big deal that you have several Nonfictioners spying on the airings of your season finale Marcy" Paganyan moaned as mumbling was heard through his phone
"I don't know if we have Wuzzats for them, they cannot forget about that. Just try to keep them away and spread the 'don't watch the leaks' message far and wide" He added, "thank you"
He hung up and sat down on the chair, "hey sweetie, how's Wicky?" He pinched her cheeks softly
"She's doing fine. Decided to go to lunch herself and greet Lightning on the way here" she smiled
"Dada" Wiccanyan smiled
"Anyway, how's work?" She asked him
"It's horrible. The more the Disney Branch grows, the more problems it would cause. They delayed Amphibia's season finale and the leaders accidentally forget about the episode on iTunes, now the creators are mad about the mistake and I told Marcy that it would be okay as long as nobody else watched the leak!" He said
"That sucks. It's like the Bowser Jr. reveal before the trailers were released..." she sighed
"I know, but it doesn't get worse than this" he sighed as well when a phone call was heard and Wiccanyan picked it up, "Hello!"
"Let me grab it sweetie, it's mommy's phone" Bearin grabbed it and answered, "Hello, this is Bear Kid Helpers HQ. How may we assist you?"
"Um hi, this is Eddy from "Ed, Edd, n Eddy" world. I'm here for the huge bite mark on Kevin's bike and they don't think it's us, but is there anything else that lives in this world?" He explained
"Umm... lemme check... metal eater... bear like... in the past... I heard one of our members, Bearly Cuddly, ate metal on certain occasions such as prison breaking, his teeth are built for that. The problem is that he's dead, and the only other bear kid that does that is, Bear Demon Kid. Who looked like this..." she showed the picture of me in front of the cul-de-sac kids, the same bear guy who played the band Ed was in
"That's the guy we saw as a drummer!" Kevin shouted
"Rolf knew no good would come from this Bearly Ed-Boy!" Rolf yelled
"If what you're saying is true, then that dork ate my bike! Let's get him!" Kevin declared and the kids decided to do the same
"Oh dear... I must've found him..." Bearin swallowed as a sweat drop is shown through her head
"The Bear Demon? Should we tell Cubbonyan?" Paganyan suggested
"Nope. He's still in denial, we should leave him be. For now, let the kids handle the mariachi band" she said
"Yep! I figured you would be going to say that" He sighed

"Thanks for helping us Jonny" I thanked the free-spirited kid who is still holding Plank
"Don't thank me, Plank did most of the work!" said Jonny
"I hope this won't be the last goodbye. And Plank.." I talked to the board
"Thank you for picking out a sweet band name for us. The next time we meet, I'll make a song just for you" I entered to the inner tube boat as we are about to be sailed out to the river
"Bye guys! I'll put your band on my Spotify playlist! I promise!" Jonny waved goodbye on his and Plank's behalf
"Goodbye Jonny. Let's go Sleuths!" I said as I lead the way to the magic tunnel to the journey unknown
