Calling New Warriors
Early the next morning, as Rebecca was checking her email account, she received a strange invitation from an unknown sender. She was about to pass it off as junk mail, but was curious about what it was. When she opened the message, it read: Rebecca Hawkins, you are receiving this message because you are being called to come to the Digital World. What is your choice? And there were two options. One said accept and another said decline.
Rebecca was amazed. Did this mean that she was going to get her own Digimon partner? This was something she had dreamed of since her boyfriend told her of his adventure and introduced his partner to her. Excited, Rebecca chose accept. When she did, the screen on her computer began shining and she saw a device coming out if it and landing in her hand. The instructions on the screen said to point her device to her screen and then she would be transported to Digiworld. Rebecca follows the instructions and points her digivice to the screen. In an instant, she begins to be transported.
Rebecca took a moment to take in her surroundings. She was standing in a field full of Digi-Eggs. She also noticed that her clothes had changed. She was wearing a bright green dress and her hair was held in place with pink ribbons.
"Welcome," said a voice. Rebecca turned around and saw Swanmon. "I assume you're here to find your Digimon partner?"
"Uh, who? Me?" Rebecca asked. "Uh, yeah? How'd you guess?"
Swanmon chuckled. "You're not the first human to have arrived here in Primary Village. Since Chaosmon's defeat, a lot of humans have been summoned here to meet their Digimon."
Listening to Swanmon's words, Rebecca mentioned watching the battle between the heroes and Chaosmon being broadcasted on television a few weeks ago. This made her wonder, was she called here because she saw the battle?
Swanmon cleared her throat. "To find your partner, use your digivice," she instructed Rebecca. "It will guide you to your Digi-Egg."
"Oh, okay. Thanks." And Rebecca began walking through the field. She held out her digivice like a compass. It started chiming a little quicker. To Rebecca, this meant that she was getting closer. The sound started going on as one long tone, meaning this was it.
Rebecca looked at the green and pink patterned Digi-Egg. She smiled with great joy and picked it up. "Wow, my very own Digimon," she said proudly.
Then she heard Leon's voice. "Hey, Rebecca!" She turned and saw him coming over with a cream colored Digi-Egg with rose colored smears. He was also dressed in a sandy colored sweater and light blue jeans.
"Leon," Rebecca said, excited. "So you came to get your Digi-Egg too."
"Yeah, isn't this awesome? Now we have our own Digimon!" He looked down at his Digi-Egg. "I wonder what mine's going to be?"
"Me too," Rebecca said, looking down at hers. "We gotta go home and tell Moki about this."
"Yeah, but how?"
That was when Swanmon appeared. "So I see you both have found your Digi-Eggs. If you wish to return home, I can help you there." And she began leading them back to her cottage. She showed them a television in her room and changed the programming. "There, now just point your digivices, and you'll be back in your own homes."
"Great. Thanks, Swanmon," Leon and Rebecca said appreciatively. Rebecca passed through first and was back in her home and in her regular clothes. She carefully tucked her Digi-Egg in her bed and got back to her computer so she could email Mokuba about what happened with her and Leon.
Mokuba was at the company helping his brother out with his work. He felt his phone vibrate and checked it, seeing that it was a message from Rebecca. It read, "Moki, you are not going to believe what just happened to me. Call me when you get a chance. Love, Becky."
When he read the contents, he knew that this was serious. He left to a more quiet area so he could call his girlfriend.
The dial tone rang for a few times, then Rebecca's voice was heard. "Hello?"
"Bec, it's me," Mokuba announced. "I got your message. What's up?"
Rebecca's excitement was detected in her voice. "This morning when I was about to email you, I got this anonymous message saying to come to the Digital World."
"What?" Mokuba asked in disbelief.
"A digivice materialized in my hand and transported me to Primary Village," continued Rebecca. "I ran into Leon while I was there and he and I got our own Digi-Eggs!"
"You're kidding!" Mokuba laughed.
"No, I'm not," she laughed back.
Mokuba stopped laughing. "I gotta see this."
"Can you meet me at the Secret Garden later this afternoon?" Rebecca asked. "I want to show all of our friends."
"I'll see what I can do," Mokuba promised. He was going to be busy most of the day, but maybe taking a little time off wouldn't hurt. Mokuba told Rebecca he loved her and ended the call.
Mokuba was able to get the time off that he requested, but he was told to come back in twenty minutes. The raven-haired lad wasted no time and hurried to the Secret Garden. He looked around and found Rebecca and Leon in a patch where vegetables grew. As he approached his friends, he looked in amazement as he saw them holding their Digi-Eggs. "Holy cow," he gasped. "You guys really do have your own Digi-Eggs."
"Yeah, and we're anxious about what kinds of Digimon our partners are going to be," said Leon.
"I really want to show the others, but Leon suggested to wait until our Digi-Eggs hatch," Rebecca whined.
"That actually may not be a bad idea," said Mokuba. Then he got an idea. "Listen, why don't we organize a time when you guys can come spend the night at my house? And if the eggs have hatched by then, your partners can meet Guilmon."
Leon and Rebecca liked that idea. And after that, the three of them would make plans to introduce the new Digimon to the rest of their friends.
The red-haired lad looked over at Celestic Falls in the distance. His friends followed his gaze. They wondered how their latest friend was doing. But they knew they couldn't go back just yet. For now, Leon and Rebecca's main priority was taking care of their Digi-Eggs. The three friends went back to the door to their world and passed through one at a time to take their own paths home.
