Snow Meets Her Huntsman

Newkirk stood there looking at Mary. He didn't hear Klink tell them that they were all dismissed. It was only when LeBeau elbowed him in the side is when he realized that his friends were walking toward the Kommandantur. Newkirk walked quickly to catch up with the others. He was the last one into the small building. He made his way into Klink's office, and found himself standing beside his Commanding Officers daughter.

Hogan was standing beside Klink's desk looking at his friends. They were all looking at him, but he would notice that Newkirk would look over at Mary off and on. This made him smile a small smile. He turned around and looked at Klink who was behind his desk. Klink looked at him and knew what Hogan was about to ask him. Hogan smiled at him when the older man nodded his head at him. Hogan turned back around and took a deep breath in. This was going to be hard for him to talk about. He decided to tell them about Klink knowing about them first. However he didn't know how his men was going to take this news.

"Okay guys." He started. "I got somethings to tell you. First I will start with what Klink knows." Newkirk looked from the beautiful young woman beside him to his Commanding Officer. All four men were looking at Klink now.

"Klink knows why I am here and what we have been doing this whole time."

Mary was looking at Newkirk when she saw his jaw drop. Her eyes moved from him to the three men beside him. She smiled a little at the shocked looks on their faces. She looked over at her father and Klink who was now standing beside her father. Mary stood there trying her hardest not to look at the older man beside her. Soon she had to look over at him again. Mary had known that Newkirk had been steeling glances at her. She had to admit to herself that when he looked at her; she could feel her heart race every time.

"What do you mean he knows?" Kinch asked his Commanding Officer.

"I thought that it was odd that Colonel Hogan was brought here instead have been taken to a Oflag. I kind of knew that he was sent here for a reason, but it only took me three weeks after he was here for me to know why he was sent here." Klink told the men in front of him. They all looked at him with wide eyes and opened mouths. This sight made Klink chuckle a little bit.

"So, this whole time you knew about what we have been doing?" Carter asked him.

"Yes Carter, Klink has known this whole time and he knows about the tunnel that leads to his house too." Mary smiled wide as Newkirk looked away in shock. She wasn't prepared for Newkirk to look at her. So when his eyes met hers the only thing Mary could do was smiled a sweet smile at him. This caught Newkirk off guard; soon he noticed that he was smiling back at her. Neither Mary nor Newkirk really didn't hear Hogan ask Klink about how he knew about the tunnel.

"How did you find out we have a tunnel to your quarters anyway?" Klink looked over at Hogan and smiled a smug smile at him.

"Well there was one night that you came threw there and you had thought I was asleep, but actually I was awake in my bed. I heard a noise and looked out, and saw you moving the stove out of the way. I was shocked to see you start to climb down into a whole. Then I walked out some and saw you move it back into place." Hogan looked at Klink with wide eyes. He had always told the guys to be careful and not do something that stupid. Hogan looked away as Klink was still smiling at him smugly.

Hogan looked over toward Mary and Newkirk and saw that they were staring at each other. Hogan smiled and knew that he had to tell Newkirk about the other part of the news, but first he had to tell them about Lizzie. Hogan felt his heart drop at the thought of Lizzie being gone for good. He shook his head and looked at Newkirk and said his name. They all looked at Newkirk, but he didn't look away from Mary. Hogan said his name a little louder this time.

"Newkirk!" Newkirk heard Hogan say his name loudly and he looked away quickly from the pale blue eyes that he was lost in.

"Yes Sir!" Everyone looked at him with an odd look as he pretty much yelled out. Mary giggled a little when she saw the look on Newkirk's face. Hogan was standing there trying hard not to laugh. Hogan looked over at Klink who had to turn around so that they would not see him about to start laughing. When Hogan saw how hard Klink was trying not to laugh; he himself almost lost it. Once he was able to speak without laughing he spoke again.

"Newkirk, you will need to hear this next part." Hogan told the younger man. Hogan noticed that Klink had turned back around and was more composed than before. He looked back to his men and started to tell them about why Mary was here.

"Like I said outside this is my daughter Mary." Hogan moved his hand up with and open palm.

"She is here because her step father Major George Rivers found out that she is my daughter not his. He…" Hogan trailed off on what he was about to say. Everyone saw that what he was going to say next was hard for him to say. Klink moved and placed a hand on Hogan's shoulder. Hogan looked over at him.

"I'll tell them." He told him. Hogan nodded his head saying a quite thank you to Klink.

"Major Rivers came home and asked Mary's mother about this. Mary's mother was able to get Mary out of the house, but he killed Mary's mother. Then he tried to kill Mary, but she was able to get away from him by an up coming air raid. But he did say that he was going to hunt Mary down and kill her." As Klink told what had happened Hogan had closed his eyes. Mary had seen this and moved over toward him. Newkirk as well as everyone else saw this. Mary moved her hand and touched her father's arm. Hogan opened his eyes and looked at her. Mary moved his arms apart to be able to give him a loving hug. Hogan hugged his daughter back. Klink was also looking at father and daughter. He didn't know the story behind Hogan and Mary's mother, but he was not going to ask about it. He knew if Hogan wanted to talk about it than he would tell him.

"I'm sorry for your loss." Everyone looked over at Newkirk. Mary looked over toward him and smiled.

"Thank you." Hogan told him. "General Butler sent Mary to me because that was Lizzie's last wish, and she knew that I would protect Mary." Hogan told them. He moved and looked at his daughter who was now looking up at him.

"You ready to meet him?" He asked her. Mary smiled and nodded her head. Three men looked at each other as their Commanding Officer said this to his daughter. They all looked back at Mary as she moved toward Newkirk. Newkirk watched her walk up to him and stand in front of him. He watched her look up at him. Newkirk was 5'9 and if he had to guess, that Mary was 5'4. The top of Mary's head came up to Newkirk's mouth. She smiled up at him with a smile that made him have to control himself not to go weak in the knees.

"Mary this is Corporal Peter Newkirk." Hogan told his daughter from where he was standing.

"Hello Peter." Mary said his name so sweetly to see if she could get a smile to come to his face. Newkirk smiled wide when Mary had said his name. He noticed that she had a sweet British accent. Her accent was more elegant than what his was.

"Hello Mary." Newkirk said back to her. He watched as her smile grew wider as he said her name. Mary noticed that his British accent was more rough than hers, but she had to admit she liked it. Mary moved her hand out to shake his hand. When Newkirk saw this he moved his hand out as well. Everyone was shocked when Newkirk took her hand and moved it around to where her fingers where between his index finger and thumb. Mary smiled wide as Newkirk leaned forward and kissed the top of her hand.

"It is very nice to meet you." He told her. Hogan and Klink looked at the two with a look of surprise. Hogan had known Newkirk for a few years now, but he had never kissed a woman's hand before.

"Same here, I have to say no one has ever kissed my hand before." Mary said this with a small blush on her cheeks.

"Well a gentleman should do that anytime they meet you." Newkirk smiled as he said this to her. He knew that the guys would joke and pick with him later, but he didn't care.

"Newkirk, you are going to be Mary's bodyguard." Newkirk narrowed his eyes and looked at his Commanding Officer. Mary noticed that Newkirk was still holding her hand in his.

"What?" He asked Hogan with shock in his voice. He was about to say that he didn't think that he should be that one to protect his daughter when Carter cut in.

"Hey why does Newkirk get to be Mary's bodyguard?" Carter asked Hogan. Hogan looked at Carter and told him.

"Newkirk is more skilled than the rest of you." Hogan said but was cut off when his three friends started to talk over each other. Newkirk didn't think that he was that skilled. He knew how to do somethings but not a lot of things. Mary squeezed Newkirk's hand making him look at her. It was then Newkirk remembered that he and Mary were still holding hands. He looked into her pale eyes once again and found himself smiling at her.

"What do you mean he is more skilled?!" LeBeau asked Hogan. "I have skills too you know!" LeBeau added.

"So do I!" Carter cut in while looking at LeBeau. LeBeau looked at Carter and started to argue with him.

Kinch was going to add something when he looked over at Mary and Newkirk. He looked at Mary first, and saw that Mary was in an eye lock with Newkirk. Her eyes had a loving look in them like she was looking at the man that she would love for the rest of her life. Kinch's eyes moved to Newkirk, and what he saw was something that he had never seen in the man's eyes before. Newkirk had the same look as Mary. He and everyone else knew that Newkirk was bad for falling in love so quickly; mostly when the women he fell for didn't loved him in return. The look that was in his eyes now was that of true love and this made Kinch smile to himself. He had heard Newkirk tell LeBeau that he would never find love or be happy in his life. Kinch knew himself that heart break was hard, but it had gotten to the point that he as well as Carter, LeBeau and Colonel Hogan had to keep an eye on Newkirk. Newkirk was showing signs that he was going to commit suicide. They had all been so worried about him. He remembered that even Klink had asked Hogan if Newkirk had tried anything at one point. Now he was looking at Newkirk who was looking at Mary as if she was delivered from the heavens by angels. Kinch looked over and saw Klink still looking at the two as well. Klink moved his eyes from them and looked at him. He watched as Klink smiled at him and then motioned his head toward Mary and Newkirk. Kinch smiled and nodded his head slightly at the older man.

"I think Colonel Hogan is right. Newkirk should be Mary's bodyguard." LeBeau, Carter and Hogan who had walked over to the two men to stop them from fighting looked at Kinch.

"What?!" Both Carter and LeBeau asked him.

"What do you mean by that?" Carter asked his friend.

"Think about it Carter, Newkirk is skilled with weapons and he has quick reflexes than anyone here." Kinch told the younger man. Newkirk who had looked over at his friend as he talked about him. Mary had also looked over and looked at the man.

"Yes, Newkirk is the right man to keep Mary safe." Klink spoke up. Hogan smiled as Klink said this. He looked over at his daughter and smiled at her.

"Mary this is Sergeant James Kinchloe." Hogan moved his hand to introduced Mary to the rest of his men.

"It's nice to meet you." Mary said while nodding her head toward the African American. Mary could tell that this man was a sweet man.

"Kinch is our radio man. He takes down and sends messages to and from London." Hogan added. Mary smiled at Kinch.

"Well in that case. Could you radio General Butler and tell him this coded message?" Mary asked the man. Kinch raised his eye brow and looked over at his Commanding Officer as he spoke up.

"Coded message?" Hogan asked her.

"Yes, General Butler wanted to make sure he was told of my safe arrival to the camp." Hogan smiled at hearing this.

"Yeah I can do that. What is the code?" He asked her.

"Tell him that Snow is with The King and she arrived last night." Mary told him. Hogan smiled wide at this. He remembered calling Mary that when she was younger.

"Okay I will." Kinch said with a smile.

"Oh and tell him also that Snow is with…" Mary trailed off. She looked over at Newkirk and asked him.

"What is your code name?" Newkirk looked at her. This question had caught him off guard.

"Oh Newkirk doesn't have a code name." Carter told her. Mary looked at the young man; then looked back at Newkirk. She smiled at him and then looked at Kinch again.

"Tell him that Snow is with The Huntsman and he will keep her safe." Kinch smiled at this and nodded his head. Hogan smiled at Mary again. He knew why she had given Newkirk that name.

"Huntsman? Why would you call me Huntsman?" Newkirk asked Mary. She looked at him and smiled wide.

"Yes The Huntsman. I use to have Papa read me a story called Snow White and The Huntsman. The book is about The Huntsman protecting Snow White from The Evil Queen. Papa use to read it to me when I was younger." Mary looked over at her father when she had finished speaking. Hogan was smiling at her.

"Wow that sounds like a good book. How does it end?" Carter asked her wanting to know. Mary looked over at him.

"Well The Huntsman trains Snow to fight, and the two of them as well as an army The Huntsman pulled together. They took down The Evil Queen's army, and Snow killed The Evil Queen. Snow was crowned and she married The Huntsman and they ruled together." Mary told the young blonde a quick summary about the book. Klink noticed that when Mary had said the word marriage that Newkirk had blushed a little. He looked down at their hands and his eyes went wide. 'They are still holding hands.' He thought to himself.

"Wow that really sounds like a good book." Carter said to her. Mary smiled and nodded her head.

"It is a very good book. I use to bring it with me to the air base and have Papa read it to me." Mary smiled while looking at her father.

"Mary this is Sergeant Andrew Carter." Hogan introduced Carter. As he did Carter did a small wave.

"It's nice to meet you. What is it that you do here?" She asked him.

"Oh I make things go boom." He said with a smile. Mary raised an eye brow.

"Carter is our explosive expert." Mary looked at Newkirk when she heard his rough voice. She had smiled a small smile when she heard his rough voice.

"And this is Corporal Louis LeBeau. He is our chef. He cooks wonderful French food. I will say this if it wasn't for him I think all of us would be nothing more than skin and bones." Hogan introduced Mary to the last of his men.

"Bonjour Mme Mary." LeBeau said in his native tongue.

"LeBeau, in English." Kinch told him with a sigh. LeBeau looked at the man beside him.

"Bonjour LeBeau, et ne vous inquiétez pas, je peux parler Français." Everyone but Hogan and Klink looked at Mary with shock.

" Vous pouvez, c'est incroyable!" LeBeau smiled wide at this. He was happy that someone here in the camp could speak French. Mary looked at Newkirk when he asked her.

"What other languages can you speak?" Mary smiled at him.

"Well I can speak French, German, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Latin and Welsh." Mary said with a smile. Everyone was looking at her with shock on their faces. Mary giggled at the sight of all the men looking at her.

"When did you learn all of those languages?" Klink asked her.

"I would go to the library when I was little and get books in the languages. The languages I wanted to learn and in English. I would read or write it in the languages then into English then back into the language that I was studying." Klink looked over at Hogan as he spoke up.

"Mary can learn or do anything she wants too really. In away Newkirk, she is a lot like you." Newkirk looked from Mary to his Commanding Officer. Mary could see a blush come to the older man's cheeks. She smiled at the sight of this.

"I can do that with somethings, but not everything." He told him honestly. "And I don't know if I should be the one to protect Mary." Mary's smile fell and she looked at him with an odd look. Hogan narrowed his eye brows together. He was also looking at him with an odd look.

"Why would you say that?" He asked the Corporal.

"Well all of you make it sound like I am a living weapon, but honestly I can only do a few things. Mary needs someone who is a living weapon to protect her."

"Newkirk, you are the best man Hogan has when it comes to thinking quickly, reacting quickly and like it was said that your reflexes are a lot more sharper than anyone here in the camp." Everyone looked at Klink as he complemented Newkirk. Newkirk was shocked that the Kommandant was saying this about him.

"And Mary needs someone that she can trust with her life. Plus Hogan would have not have chosen you if you were not the best and only choice he has. Think about it; besides Hogan, you are the only other one here who puts his life on the line on your missions and at any other times." Newkirk was in awe at this. He had never thought that he was like that. He had always said that he was a coward.

"And I know that you call yourself a coward, but honestly you are far from that. You are just as brave as Hogan." Hogan felt himself blush some at this complement that Klink was giving him.

"See your are perfect to protect me." Newkirk looked at Mary as she spoke to him with a smile.

"Well I don't know if I am that great." Mary knew that he was selling himself short. So she stepped closer toward him. She made sure to remind him that they were still holding hands by moving their hands outwards and squeezing his hand. Newkirk felt himself stiffen up as she moved closer to him. He had no idea what she was going to do. Mary who was now making eye contact with him only said.

"Please Peter, you are the best and besides, I would like to get to know you a lot better." Hogan's eyes got wide at this. 'Oh my god, that is something that I would do.' He thought to himself. As Klink watched Mary the first thought that came to his mind was that 'That is something that Robert would do.' Newkirk smiled at Mary as she told him that she wanted to get to know him a lot better. He could feel himself give in at this.

"Okay, I will be your bodyguard." He watched as Mary's eyes lit up with joy in them.

"Mein Gott, I have two of them now." Klink said lowering his head and placing a hand on his forehead. Kinch, LeBeau, and Carter smiled and tried not to laugh. They saw what Mary had just done, and they knew that she was their Colonel Hogan's daughter. Hogan looked over at Klink with a shocked look on his face.

"Really?" He asked the older Colonel.

"She is just like you." Klink said with a smug smile. Hogan knew that he was right but he didn't have to put it that way.

Mary was now in barracks 2. She was waiting for her father and Newkirk to get their things together. She was sitting at the table listening to LeBeau talk about what kind of French food that he loved to cook. She would ever so often look up at Newkirk. Her eyes watched him stand up on the bunk and get something from his bed. Mary looked away from his backside and back at LeBeau. Mary smiled and told LeBeau that she also loved to cook and bake.

"Oh really? What is it that you love to make?" LeBeau asked her.

"Well I like making classic English, French and even American foods, but what I love to do is bake." She told the small Frenchman.

"What do you love to bake?" LeBeau asked her again. Mary turned her head up and looked up at the ceiling.

"Well I love baking cakes mostly, but I do make other things too. Lets see, cobbler, custard tarts, maid of honors tarts, and I love baking a Victoria Sponge. I use to make it all the time but Mama said that George didn't like the way I made it, so I had to stop making it." Mary said looking down at the table now.

"How did you make it?" Newkirk asked her. Mary looked up at him. Once again her heart raced as she heard his voice.

"Well I made it the way it is suppose to be made, but I made the sponge chocolate. I also put some coffee and some almond extract in it." Mary watched as Newkirk smiled at her.

"That actually does sound pretty damn good." He told her. Mary smiled at him sweetly. Newkirk was caught off guard when Mary asked him.

"Would you like me to make one for you?" She asked him. Newkirk smiled at her and told her.

"Yeah I would, Victoria Sponge is one of my favorites. Well that and maid of honor tarts."

"What kind of supper foods do you like?" She asked the older man. Newkirk moved around the table and sat his bag down on the floor. He took a seat next to LeBeau. LeBeau looked at Newkirk as he had to move over to make room for the Englishmen. Mary felt herself get nervous with Newkirk being this close to her. As Newkirk thought about what he would like to eat; a thought came to Mary. 'If I am this nervous with him sitting next to me. What is it going to be like when he sleeps in the room with me?' She asked herself. When Newkirk spoke it brought Mary out of her thoughts.

"Well I like different things really. Lancashire hotpot, fish and chips, and I really like Shepherd's Pie." He was looking at the table as he told her. He didn't see the smile come to Mary's face. Newkirk was trying to keep his nerves under control. Being this close to the most attractive woman he has ever seen was starting to get to him. Then a thought came to him. 'If I am like this now. How am I going to be, being around her all the time?' He asked himself. So when Mary spoke it caught Newkirk off guard again. He looked over at her with a smile.

"Oh I love making those. I can also make a beef wellington as well as game pies." LeBeau looked over at Kinch as Mary and Newkirk talked.

"These English don't know what good food is. Shepherd's pie." LeBeau told Kinch with an eye roll. Mary had heard LeBeau say this.

"I do like cooking French food too. But I have to tell you Hachis Parmentier is actually the same of a Shepherd's Pie." All three men watched as LeBeau's mouth dropped. He looked at Newkirk as he smiled a smug smile at him. Mary started to giggle as she watched LeBeau close his mouth and narrowed his eyes at the man that was beside her. It was only when Mary spoke again that all of the men at the table looked at her again.

"I do cook some French food but not a lot. George didn't like French food, so I was not allowed to cook it much." Newkirk and the others noticed that when Mary said George's name that she said it in a sadden tone. Newkirk elbowed LeBeau. LeBeau looked at his friend. Newkirk who was looking at him moved his eyes toward Mary. LeBeau knew what his friend was trying to tell him.

"So what kind of fine French cuisine do you know how to cook?" He asked her. Mary looked up from her hands and at her father's friend.

"Well Chicken Marengo and Daube Provençale is all, but I do know how to make Eclairs and I love to make Macaroons." Mary told the Frenchmen.

"You like making Macaroons?!" LeBeau yelled out with excitement. Mary was now looking at the man with wide eyes. She looked over at Newkirk and asked him.

"Is he alright?" Newkirk chuckled and told her.

"No one other than you and LeBeau can cook French food." He said with a smile. Hogan walked out of his office and smiled to himself. He saw all his men sitting at the table with his daughter. Hogan walked over as LeBeau yelled out.

"What is going on here?" He asked Mary. Mary looked up at her father.

"I told LeBeau that I like to make Macaroons, and I don't know if I should have said that." She told her father with an uneasy smile. Mary looked back at LeBeau as he spoke again.

"I can't believe you like making Macaroons! I can't even make them, but boy I do love them though." Mary smiled at the man.

"Well I can show you how to make them if you want?" She asked him. LeBeau smiled at her and nodded his head. He was about to ask her something else when Carter cut in.

"What else can you make?" He asked her. Mary looked over at the younger of the men and smiled at him.

"Well I can make meatloaf, brown rice, and I do make a very good pot roast." She told him. Hogan placed a hand on Mary's shoulder making her look up at him.

"You can make a pot roast?" He asked her. Mary nodded her head at her father.

"Yes, why? Do you like pot roast?" She asked him.

"Yes I do. That is my favorite food." He told her with a smile. Mary smiled at her father with a wide smile. A thought came to Hogan and he had to ask Mary something.

"Mary, do you know any kind of German foods that you can make?" He asked her. Mary nodded her head and told him what she could make.

"Yes I do. I know how to make a roasted goose and I can make a potato soup. But I don't know if Klink will like the way I make it though. I make it a little different than what I say he would like." Mary said unsure if she should make it for the Kommandant or not.

"Well I think that you should make it for him. It would make Klink happy." Hogan told his daughter with a loving smile. Mary smiled and nodded her head. Hogan looked over at Newkirk and asked him.

"You got everything?" Newkirk looked away from Mary and to his Commanding Officer.

"Yeah I do."

"Okay we should head over there and put our things in our new rooms." Mary and Newkirk got up from the table. Newkirk bent down to get his bag as Mary walked to the door. As Mary opened the door and walked out; she heard her father tell Newkirk something else.

"Oh and you will be sleeping in the same room with Mary too." Newkirk looked at Hogan with widen eyes. 'Oh no.' He thought to himself. 'I can't sleep in the same room with her!'

"What? Why?" He asked The Colonel.

"The windows in the guest room can be easily lifted up. We all know that. I think everyone of us has lifted the windows up to get into the room." Newkirk was about to protest to this when he heard LeBeau speak up.

"Oui mon colonel is right. We all have done that and if Mary's step father can get into the camp. He will for sure lift that window up." Newkirk knew that this was true. He had lifted the window up at times to get into the house. When Hogan spoke again Newkirk and the others looked at him.

"Or one of the prisoners here can. Some of them were looking at Mary with a look that I didn't like at all." He told his men.

"Your right, but where do you want me to sleep at though?" Newkirk asked Hogan. Hogan looked over at The Corporal with an odd look.

"What?" He asked the younger man.

"Well I don't think that you want me to sleep in the bed with your daughter." Newkirk said dryly. Hogan got what Newkirk was telling him.

"No." He said while laughing and waving his hand in front of himself. "No you will be sleeping in a small bed that Klink is bringing in." Newkirk rolled his eyes and smiled at The Colonel. 'That still doesn't help me.' He thought to himself.

"That's good, cause if not than Newkirk would be your new son-in-law." Carter said dryly making both men look at him.

Mary was outside and had heard what the men were talking about. She smiled to herself and looked over threw the open window of The Kommandantur. She could see Klink inside at his desk. Mary smiled to herself. She knew Klink's and her father's secret, but she didn't think that they knew how the other one felt about the other. Mary was brought out of her thoughts when she heard her father and Newkirk walk out of the barracks.

"You ready?" Mary looked up at her father.

"Yes I am." She smiled up at him. Mary followed the two men in front of her.

"Hold on let me go and tell Klink that we are heading over to the house." Hogan told his daughter as he ran over to Klink's open window to Klink's office. She smiled to herself as she watched her father and the man that he was secretly in love with talk threw the window. Mary looked over at Newkirk and saw him looking at the two as well. She saw a small smile on his face. 'I wonder if he knows it too?' She thought to herself. Mary stepped a little closer toward Newkirk.

"Do they know that they are in…" Mary trailed off as Newkirk looked at her when he heard her speak.

"No they don't, but I wish that they would just get together though. If they did I would win the bet." Newkirk told the young woman next to him.

"Bet? You betted that they would end up together?" She asked him with a small giggle.

"Yeah and if or when they do. I will win a thousand pounds each." Newkirk laughed lightly.

"From who?" Mary asked him.

"Carter, Kinch, LeBeau and Schultz." Newkirk smiled down at Mary. Mary smiled at him. Newkirk looked into Mary's eyes once again.

"You have the most bewitching eyes." Mary's eyes widen when he said this to her.

"What?" She asked him. Newkirk then realized that what he meant to think had came out of his mouth instead. Mary watched as Newkirk's eyes got wide.

"I didn't mean to say… what I meant was that." Mary listened to Newkirk try to explain what he had said.

"You like my eyes?" She asked him. Newkirk knew that he had to say the right thing, but he just didn't know what it was at this point.

"Yes, I do but…" Newkirk started but Mary cut him off.

"You don't think that they are demon like?" She asked him. Newkirk narrowed his brows at this.

"What? No! They look like snow lightly covering blue ice." When Newkirk said this, Mary couldn't believe what he had said to her. This made Mary smile wide and blush. Newkirk looked at Mary and then remembered what he had said that her eyes looked liked. Newkirk could feel a blush come to his face.

"Well, your eyes look like blue flames within a fire." As Mary said this her face got a little hotter. Newkirk could also feel his face get hotter as well.

"They do huh?" He asked her.

"Yes they do." Mary said in a small voice.

From the barracks door Carter, Kinch and LeBeau stood there watching the two. All three of them had seen everything. Kinch and LeBeau looked at each other and shared a look. They both knew that Newkirk had fallen hard for Mary, and that Mary had fallen hard for Newkirk. Both of them looked over at Carter who was looking at the two with an odd look. They both knew that they would have to explain this to Carter later.

"You know, I think I was right." Carter said out loud.

"Right about what?" Kinch asked him.

"Newkirk is going to be Colonel Hogan's new son-in-law." Carter said with a smile. Kinch and LeBeau looked over at Mary and Newkirk.

"You mean to tell us that you know what is happening between them?" LeBeau asked Carter.

"Well yeah, I mean anyone with or without eyes can see that them two are head over hills for each other." Carter said looking at the men beside him. Kinch and LeBeau looked back over at the two in love.

-MN-

Newkirk was standing there trying to take in what Mary had said to him. Then he remembered what Mary had asked him. 'Demon like? What did she mean by demon like? Who had said that to her?' Newkirk thought to himself. He looked over and saw Mary looking back at her father and Klink.

"They have been talking for awhile now." Newkirk looked from Mary toward the two men at the window.

"Yeah they have." Newkirk couldn't help himself, he had to ask her.

"Mary?" Mary looked over at the taller man.

"Yes." Newkirk looked at her with a curious look.

"Who told you that your eyes look like demon eyes?" He asked her. Mary's smile fell as he asked this. Newkirk could see pain in her eyes now as she spoke.

"George. He told me that with eyes like this that I looked like a demon from hell." Newkirk stood there with a shocked look on his face. He saw as Mary was remembering George telling her this. Newkirk moved closer toward her. He moved his hand out and lifted Mary's chin with it. Mary was now looking into Newkirk's blue flamed eyes.

"He was wrong. Your eyes are beautiful, just like you. Your eyes could hook anyone with a beating heart." Mary smiled wide as Newkirk told her this. Newkirk hated to admit that Mary's eyes had hooked him.

"Thank you Peter." She said with a loving smile.

"What are you doing?" Mary and Newkirk looked over at Hogan who was standing there with Klink. Newkirk dropped his hand and looked at his Commanding Officer.

"Peter was just telling me that he liked my eyes, and that George was wrong." Hogan looked over at Klink when Klink asked Mary.

"Wrong? Wrong about what?" He asked her.

"George told Mary that she had demon eyes. I told her that he was wrong." Newkirk answered Klink. Hogan looked at Mary with a sadden smile.

"Mary, your eyes are not like demon eyes. They look like…" Hogan thought of the right way to put it.

"Snow lightly covering blue ice?" Newkirk spoke up again. Hogan smiled at him and then looked back at Mary.

"Yeah, that is what they look like."

"They do, don't they." Klink added.

Later that night Mary was in the guest room now. Hogan had told Newkirk that their beds would be here tomorrow. Newkirk said that he would sleep on the sofa tonight. Hogan had told Klink that he would sleep in the chair in his room. Klink told him that it was for only one night though and that the bed would be there soon. Mary was now getting into her bed when she heard a knock on the door. She could feel herself stiffen up.

"Yes?" She said in a shaking voice. The door opened and she relaxed as her father walked in.

"Hey, I came to tell you goodnight." Mary smiled up at her father.

"Goodnight Papa." Hogan leaned down and kissed her on the forehead. Hogan moved to walk out of the room when he stopped at the door.

"Are you sure you don't want Newkirk in here tonight?" He asked her.

"Yes, I will be fine." She told him. Hogan smiled as he walked out. Mary smiled to herself as she laid down.

Mary woke up in the middle of the night. She got out of her bed and slipped her house shoes on. Mary walked around to the door and walked into the living room. She looked at the time and it was four in the morning.

"Guess I could start making breakfast now." She told herself.

Mary looked over at the sofa and saw that Newkirk wasn't there. She narrowed her brows together. Mary looked over at the front door and saw that it was standing wide open. She walked threw the living room and looked out of the door. She could see nothing but blackness. Fear washed over her. Mary turned and ran to Klink's and her father's room.

"Papa?!" She yelled out.

As Mary hit the door and opened it. She saw that no one was in the room. Her heart started to pound in her chest. What if George had gotten in and had killed them. Mary shook her head and ran back out into the living room. She stopped dead in her tracks. There was no furniture, but instead were three caskets with the lids open. Mary walked slowly toward them and looked in. The first one had Klink in it. He was dressed in his Colonel Uniform. Mary looked at his head. She could see one gun shot in his forehead. She watched with horror as blood trickled from the shot. The blood slowly ran down the side of his head.

"Vater?" Mary said softly looking at Klink.

Mary's eyes looked over at the last casket. She moved over and saw her father inside. Mary's eyes looked at her father up and down. He was in his usual clothes that he always war. Soon her horrified eyes landed on his throat. Her eyes widen as she saw the blood oozing from the wound onto the pillow and lining. Mary felt hot tears start to fall from her eyes.

"Papa?" Mary went to move toward him but she stopped herself.

She looked over into the casket that was between her father and the one she was starting to see as a father. A scream came from her throat as Mary looked at Newkirk's body in the casket. He was in his RAF uniform. Her eyes went from his face to his chest. Mary watched in horror as once again, as blood leaked threw Newkirk's shirt and jacket. She knew that it was a shot to the heart.

"PETER!" She screamed out. Mary moved over toward the man that she felt so strongly about. Mary reached out a hand to touch his face when a voice came from behind her.

"They all died trying to keep you away from me." Mary's eyes widen in fear. She turned around and saw George standing now in front of her. Mary's eyes went from his red eyes to the end of the gun he was holding.

"Now it's your turn demon." Mary let out a scream as George pulled the trigger of the gun.

"MARY!" Mary opened her eyes and shot upwards in bed. Her eyes ran over the room until she saw Newkirk sitting there in front of her. He was holding her arms in his hands. Mary looked over at the door when she heard two others run into the room.

"Mary what is it?!" Her father asked her breathlessly. Mary's eyes watched Klink as he moved beside of her father.

"Mary, your alright. It was just a dream." Mary looked over when she heard the rough voice. Her eyes was now looking into Newkirk's electric blue eyes.

"Just a dream?" She asked him.

"Yes, that's all it was. Just a dream." Mary sighed and wiped the tears that were on her cheeks.

Newkirk looked at Mary with worry in eyes. He had been almost asleep when he had heard Mary scream out his name. Newkirk had to admit that was the fastest he had ever moved in his life. When he had came into the room; Mary was clawing the blankets for dear life. It was when she called his name out again and started to cry harder is when he had moved toward her. Newkirk had tried to wake Mary up softly, but she wouldn't wake up . It was only when Mary started to beg George not to kill her is when Newkirk had to yell out her name to wake her. Now Mary was wiping the tears away from her face. Newkirk sighed and knew what he had to do. He looked over at Hogan as he moved to the other side of the bed and sat down.

Hogan and Klink were also almost asleep when they heard Mary scream. The both of them had shot out of the bedroom and ran into the living room in time to see that Newkirk was in Mary's room trying to wake her. Hogan thought that Newkirk would be able to wake Mary up in no time, but when Newkirk had yelled out Mary's name it scared him. When Hogan ran into the room and saw the look on Mary's face; it had horrified him to see her like she was. She was pale, sweating and her whole body was shaking. Her eyes were wide with a look of horror in them. She had hot tears running down her cheeks. Hogan found himself moving around Klink toward Mary. Klink watched as Newkirk calmed Mary down. His eyes looked at Mary's hand. Mary had a death grip on Newkirk's sleeve covered arm. Klink looked up when he heard Newkirk speak to Hogan.

"Colonel, I think I should just sleep here beside Mary for now on." Hogan looked from his daughter toward Newkirk. Mary looked up and over at Newkirk as he said this.

"What?" He asked the younger man.

"I don't think me sleeping in a small bed will help her with these nightmare's." Hogan knew that his friend was right.

"It's true. When you were a child and you had bad dreams didn't your mother or father sleep beside you?" Klink asked him.

"Well not really, no." Klink looked over at Hogan with narrowed brows.

"Really?" Klink asked him again.

"No, I was just told to get over it." Hogan said with a far away look in his eyes.

While Klink and her father were talking; Mary was trying to calm herself down. 'Just a dream.' She kept telling herself over and over again. Mary looked over and into Newkirk's eyes. She could see the worry in them. Mary smiled at him and leaned over and laid her head on the left side of his chest. Newkirk moved his head to the side and asked Mary.

"What are you doing?" Klink and Hogan stopped talking and looked over toward them.

"Listening." Was all Mary said to him. Newkirk looked up at Hogan with a worried look. He knew that if he showed any sign of himself actually liking Mary being this close to him then Hogan would see it.

"Listening to what?" He asked her while making eye contact with his Commanding Officer.

"To your heart." Mary said in a low voice to where it was almost a whisper. Newkirk broke the eye contact with Hogan and looked down at Mary.

"My heart? Why are you listening to my heart?" He asked her with a loving smile. Mary leaned up and looked at him.

"I was just making sure that you were okay. In the dream I could see father's wound and Wilhelm's, but not yours. You were shot in the heart. I watched the blood leak threw your shirt and…" Mary started to cry as she told Newkirk about the dream. Newkirk moved his hand and brushed a piece of Mary's hair from her face.

"I am alive and so is your father and Klink." He told her. Mary looked over at her father and Klink.

"It's okay Mary. We are okay." Hogan told his daughter with a loving smile. Mary looked over at Klink as he asked her something that he had to know.

"Mary do you have a lot of nightmare's?" Mary looked down at the bed and nodded her head.

"Yes I do, and before you ask their are all about George too." All three men watched as a single tear fell from Mary's eye.

"Mary what all has George done?" Hogan asked his daughter, not knowing if he wanted to know. Mary started to shake a little and all three saw it. Newkirk moved himself closer to Mary. He knew that Mary needed an anchor for the emotions that she was about to go through. Newkirk wrapped his arms around her. Mary moved and laid her head on his chest.

"Well he would come into my room at night and get into bed with me." Mary started. She didn't know if she would be able to keep it together much longer. Hogan's eyes widen when Mary said this. Klink's eyes widen as well. Klink looked over at Hogan and knew that like Mary that Hogan would need an anchor as well. As Klink moved over toward Hogan he heard Hogan ask his daughter.

"What did he do to you?" Mary closed her eyes and said the only thing that she could muster out.

"What do you think. There was times that he would just attack me." Hogan looked over at Klink as he sat down on the bed beside him. Newkirk's eyes widen when Mary confirmed his suspicions. Newkirk didn't look at Klink when he asked her.

"Mary did you tell your mother about this?"

"I didn't have to; she knew about it. She told me that I had to make George happy that he was showing me what a man would do to a woman once in bed with her." Hogan's eyes widen even more. He could feel the hot tears start to form in them.

"What?" He asked her in a soft voice. "Why would Lizzie say that, or allow George to do that?" He asked her while taking her hand into his.

"Because she did anything he said. If he told her to bring me to him she would, and she would leave the room. He once told her to beat me in front of him, and she did it. I begged her to stop, but she just told me that she had to do what he wanted." Mary felt Newkirk tighten his arms around her even more. Once she felt this; she loss control and started to cry. Hogan looked down at the bed. He couldn't believe that Lizzie would do this.

"No, Lizzie would not let him hurt you or hurt you herself. The Lizzie I knew would never do that." Hogan told his daughter.

"George had made Mama a mindless minion. If he told her to kill me or herself she would do it to make him happy. The only time she had ever stood up to him is when she got me out of the house. That was the only time she had ever stood against him. George had tried to pull all of the mind games on me to get me to be like Mama, but when it didn't work he tell Mama to lock me up in the attic. He had even told her to not call me by my name anymore. That she had to call me what he called me." As Mary told her father what her mother had become; Mary cried a little harder. She now had a death grip on Newkirk's arm and his shirt. Newkirk hugged Mary tighter as she clung to him.

"He told her to call you Demon, didn't he?" Newkirk asked her. Mary only nodded her head. Hogan looked at his daughter with wide teary eyes. He couldn't believe this. He looked over at Klink who put his hand over his.

"Well I can say this. If that bastard ever gets in here. I think he would have to go threw not only three of us but many more to get to you." As Klink said this to Mary she glanced over toward him.

"Don't worry Mary. You are safe here and that will never happen to you again. I, your father, and Newkirk will never let that happened to you again." Mary smiled as Klink spoke again.

"Now I think that all of us needs to get some sleep, and if you want Mary we can talk more about this in the morning." Klink told them. Mary moved away from Newkirk and smiled at Klink.

"I would like that. I know that I woke all of you up." She said with guilt in her voice. Mary looked over at her father who was now somewhat out of shock.

"Yeah I think Klink is right. Newkirk you sleep here with Mary." Hogan told his friend. Newkirk nodded his head.

Klink got up and brushed Hogan's shoulder with his hand. Hogan moved and got up. He moved over to the door. Hogan looked behind him and saw Mary make room for Newkirk in her bed. He smiled to himself when Mary moved herself into his best friends arms. When Mary moved in Newkirk's arms he smiled at her and hugged her up. He knew that Mary would have a better night sleep with him beside her. Hogan saw the smile on Newkirk's face and shut the door. Hogan and Klink moved back toward their shared room. Once inside Klink got back into bed and looked over at Hogan who move to sit on the side of the bed.

"She will be alright. Newkirk is in there with her and…" Klink trailed off when he heard a sound come from the man that he secretly was in love with. Klink looked at Hogan and saw tears running down his face. Hogan moved to get up and go back to the chair that he had been sleeping in when Klink reached out and softly grabbed his hand with his.

"Sleep here in the bed tonight. I know that you will need comfort like Mary." Hogan looked over at Klink. He didn't say anything, but moved to get into the bed. Once in bed he was laying on his side facing Klink who was on his back.

"Robert if you want me to hold you and to make you feel better you have to move over closer to me." Klink said this with his eyes closed, but he had a smile on his face. Hogan glanced up at Klink and moved over toward him. He moved his head onto Klink's chest and placed his hand on the older man's chest.

"She is alright and that will never happened to her again." Klink told him as he placed his arm around the younger man.

"Your right." Hogan said closing his eyes and hoping that the sunlight would bring a better day with it.

After her father and Klink left the room, Mary sighed in Newkirk's arms. She had wished that her father would not have found out some that she had went threw. It was only when Newkirk started to play with Mary's hair is when she forgot about all that had happened a few moments ago. Mary smiled and placed her hand on Newkirk's chest. She started to make a small circle with her finger when she heard Newkirk say her name.

"Mary."

"Yes Peter." Newkirk looked at the hair between his fingers. He had not realized that he was playing with her hair. He was so deep in thought about what all Mary had told them that he didn't notice what he was doing or when or for how long. Newkirk let the piece of hair fall from his fingers and onto the bed.

"You don't have demon eyes, and what was done to you. Will never happen again as long as I breathe." Mary smiled and looked up into his eyes. Mary noticed that even in almost darkness that she could still see the flaming blue in his eyes.

"Does that mean that you will never leave my side then?" She asked him. Newkirk smiled down at her. He looked into her eyes that had captured his soul.

"Nope, Never." Newkirk watched as a large smile came to Mary's reddish lips. He could even see the happiness within her eyes.

"Good, cause I don't think I could let you leave my side." Mary watched as Newkirk's smile of happiness reached his eyes. "There is just one thing more." Mary added. Newkirk tilted his head a little.

"And what is that?" He asked her.

"Can you keep playing with my hair. It calms me down and I like it when someone plays with my hair." Newkirk smiled and reached down and started to play with Mary's hair again. Mary smiled and closed her eyes and told the man that she had fell so hard for goodnight. Newkirk smiled and told the young woman that he had fallen for so hard a goodnight.
