Dexter and Tanith sat Valkyrie down to talk. Valkyrie needed help, and she wasn't going to ask for it herself.
Valkyrie placed her coffee down and crossed her arms, "What are we doing?"
"We're problem solving," Tanith smiled. Dexter smiled stupidly and took out a sheet of paper from his jean pockets.
"This," he began, "is our three step list to 'No-More-Insomnia."
"That sounds really dumb," Valkyrie remarked.
Dexter ignored her, "We're replacing your medications," Tanith said, "with Respiradone and Suvorexant. Hopefully they will calm your nightmares. Your recent medications never did."
"Now, we are only using medications because of the severity of your insomnia and nightmares. We're limiting the amount of pills you take and the period of time you take them," Dexter clarified. Valkyrie stared dully at them.
"And… we're getting you a therapist," Tanith smiled, "I know you don't want to, but-"
"But if you don't go, we will violently drag you in," Dexter interrupted. Valkyrie wasn't enjoying herself. She exhaled deeply, "And what's the last step?"
"We're having a… drumroll please?" Tanith's face was excited.
"No," Valkyrie dead-panned. Tanith ignored her.
"We're having a sleepover!"
Valkyrie's face lit up, "A sleepover?"
"Yes, but not exactly what you're thinking of."
"Oh," Valkyrie frowned.
"But it will still be fun," Dexter assured.
"Right," Valkyrie's shoulder sagged in disbelief.
"We read an article, 'Tips to Help You Finally Sleep.' It was very insightful!" Tanith said. Dexter pulled another slip of paper out of his pocket, and read it aloud, "One: No more caffeine." Tanith snatched Valkyrie's cup of coffee. Valkyrie already hated the list.
Dexter continued enthusiastically, "No more naps. Be active. Don't eat or drink before going to bed…"
"We're going to be exercising these tips, especially numero dos; be active. Pun intended." Tanith was thoroughly enjoying this. Valkyrie was glaring.
"Dexter," Tanith signaled. Dexter pulled a third slip of paper from his pockets.
"List of active activities to get Valkyrie tired out: Tag, volleyball, soccer, playing with Xena" Dexter listed.
Valkyrie sighed, "Actually, that does sound like fun."
