~ DRACO ~

- Me, I'm a wizard... human - Draco said not knowing who he was trying to convince more, himself or the brunet across from him.

- I know this may be strange and hard to accept, it has happened once in the last three thousand years and as far as I know there have been three times since they wrote history. There are only two ways to become an elf, and one of them is out, because I'm sure you weren't born that way.

- Elves. Neither you nor I look like house elves.

- House elves are a creation of wizards, they are about high elves, one of the oldest peoples. We are the very distant ancestors of a race as wronged as the house elves," Aillard drew himself up from his seat with indignation and began to stroll across the room.

Draco only blinked and closed his mouth which opened involuntarily under the pressure of the power radiating from the elf in front of him as his emotions stirred.

- You fell into the cave at the perfect moment, this happens extremely rarely and it takes not only the right place, the phase of the moon or even the alignment of the planets, it also takes the right person. You see this cave chooses and doesn't have to let you in at all, and is said to be picky. So tell me Draco Malfoy what is so special about you," he continued to explain and finally looked straight into his eyes.

- I don't, I have no idea," he said in a hushed voice in response after a long moment of breaking eye contact, there was not an ounce of fluff or arrogance in this land. He felt and acted like a lost and scared puppy.

- Either way it doesn't matter now it has already happened, what matters now is that you are an elf and you have to learn to live with that. You will get a week, a few days more if you need it to get used to your present state, then you will start your studies, it may not make you happy but you must master your new abilities and you must know this and that about this world because for now you are staying here - said the brunet calmly again

- I can't stay here, my mother and father think I'll be back in a few days and I have scho...

- It's not up to you at this point, like I said it already happened. you must first learn to use your powers, to live and survive - the brunet interrupted him firmly.

- What will it take two weeks, a month, I really need to get back - There was a strong panic in his voice.

- It's really hard to tell it might take two years though it might as well take twenty years - with every word Aillard said Draco's eyes widened more and more

- i... i can't, I can't, I n... no- He wailed with his hands pressed to his face the new elf

- Nicol you can come here - He shouted towards the door

- Nicol at your service," said the nymph with an appearance no older than ten years though she was certainly much older.

- I would like you to take care of Mr. Malfoy and now I would like you to take him to his room to rest and think things over," He turned to the nymph giving her instructions.

- Nicol will be more than happy to take care of Mr. Malfoy," She smiled slightly showing her perfectly white, slightly more pointed teeth than he might have expected from her overall appearance.

- Follow me. This time he turned to the blond

Draco got up from the table without any protest and moved to follow her, any way you looked at it he was both tired and embarrassed. They walked in silence and he tried to remember the way from the main entrance to his room, the first hallway to the left, up the stairs then twice to the right and at the end of the hallway the third one on the right was his door.

- Stay in your room and Nicol will come and take you to dinner when she is ready - said the nymph opening the door for him

Draco just nodded to her, she seemed to understand and walked away closing the door behind her. He lay down on the bed and stared at the ceiling for a long time, his head boiling. He couldn't go home, and even when he returned twenty years later would his parents be alive, would anyone remember him. With that thought he quickly sat down on the bed, after all, he didn't even look like him anymore, even if he returned home his parents wouldn't recognize him. It was beginning to get dark outside the windows, he got out of bed and walked over to the table behind which the mirror stood creating something between a desk and a dressing table, he sat down in the chair and stared at himself. He was still having a hard time getting used to the fact that the person in his reflection was actually him, and with a quick movement he removed the thong used as an elastic band from his hair and his long, white and silky smooth hair spilled over his back and shoulders. With a slightly trembling hand he tucked his hair behind his ear exposing it, he expected it to be as pointed as Ailliard's ears but knowing and seeing was the difference. For the next fifteen minutes he tried to tie up his hair but with not a very good nipple, he finally gave up and his hair resembled one big tangle. He turned slowly to the door putting the thong back on his stole when he heard a knock on the door, it had to be Nicol who was going to take him to dinner.

- Please - They're shouting at the door

- What did you do to your hair, Nicol is about to explain to you how it works- said the nymph when she noticed Draco's hair

She pulled a comb from the dresser near his bed and began to carefully and gently comb his hair, then detangled his pink hair with violet highlights and spent the next ten minutes teaching him how to do a reasonably decent ponytail.

- Tomorrow Nicol will teach Mr. Malfoy how to braid his hair and now follow Nicol to dinner," said the nymph heading towards the exit of the room

When they reached the dining room the fire was burning in the fireplace and the table was laden with various dishes, the only surprise was that he found not one but two people at the table. Beside the green-eyed elf sat a black-haired woman with her back to him.

- I was just telling you about him," said Aillard enthusiastically to the woman when he saw him and then the woman turned to him with her hand outstretched

- Shelly Reef - she just said smiling so that dimples appeared on her cheeks and he shook her hand

- In that case we may begin supper," interjected the delighted Aill, and then for a few minutes they ate in silence

Nothing tasted like Draco would have expected, things he expected to be soft were actually crunchy and crackling in his teeth, the red almost tomato-like balls were very sweet, too sweet for tomatoes. Even something that appeared to be chicken had much more flavor and texture, he could clearly smell the herbs in which the meat had been roasted, he could feel the bitter aftertaste of the drink that had been served for dinner breaking through its sweetness.

- Do you know where Lam went - She asked between bites

- He was summoned to Westbreak and by the way he had some business he didn't want to talk about, he should be back in a month or so - replied the brunet dispassionately finishing his meal

- and Folen, he contacted you- She kept up the conversation by also finishing eating

- Yes, he has already reached Nenmaki three days ago, and in two days he is to be in Korjem; next week he is to stop here for a few days before going on

- That boy's not going to let up," the girl snarled

The conversation went on for several more minutes and then everyone dispersed, Draco then found out from Aill that Shelly who was hosting the dinner was a friend of his, she was also a mermaid and his estate was close to the sea where she lived. Lam or rather Lamruil Adphine practically lived with Aillard most of the time, he had been his friend for a very long time but he was not coming back from his trip anytime soon. Another character that came up in conversation and at home was Folen Iliwen, who was involved in some sort of elvish archaeology, searching for long lost mythical items from elvish histories and was getting late when the elf's tale of people and history ended, and as he wandered into his bedroom he fell fast asleep without realizing beforehand how tired he was, it was one of the few nights in recent memory where he fell asleep without any nagging thoughts. Although this was not caused by sleep, but by fatigue, even one quiet and sleepy night was salutary, the next days would serve as time to adapt to a new situation, a new body, a new world.
