Narrator: Last time, our heroes met the human version of Twilight Sparkle, who clearly goes to Crystal Prep! Then, we find out that the magic is somehow being drained. And it might have something to do with the human version of Twilight Sparkle. And what does Cinch plan on doing with Ash?
At the gymnasium, there was a party to welcome Crystal Prep for the Friendship Games. At first they smiled at each other, but then came the rivalry vibe. Elsewhere, Ash, Goh, Chloe and the HuMane Six were heading to the gymnasium.
Ash: I'm impressed that you designed those outfits for the welcoming party, Rarity!
Rarity: Thank you, Ash! I especially like the bow ties I made for Pikachu, Raboot and Sobble! I used only the finest gemstones to match the color of their type.
Ash: (eyes sparkle) Awesome! Your fashion is just the coolest!
Rarity: Naturally, darling!
Applejack was currently talking to Sunset about the portal to Equestria.
Applejack: What do ya mean the portal's gone?
Sunset Shimmer: I mean it's gone. It's closed. It's not there anymore!
Rainbow Dash: How'd that happen?
Sunset Shimmer: I don't know. But it has something to do with that Twilight.
Ash: It has to be! I saw it too! It was all like "whoosh"! Then a "kapow"! Then there was a bright light!
Pikachu: (agreeing) Pika Pika!
Sunset Shimmer: That's… one way to put it.
Applejack: What in tarnation is she up to?
Sci-Twi accidently bumped into Indigo Zap, causing her to spill her drink.
Indigo Zap: Huh? (snarls)
Goh: Seems to be making a few clumsy moves!
Chloe: (smirks playfully) Really? I'd like to recall all the clumsy moves you've made.
That shut him up instantly while looking embarrassed.
Goh: Uh...well...um!
Rainbow Dash: (snickers)
Ash: What is she doing though?
Sunset Shimmer: Leave this to me.

Sci-Twi was currently scanning the area for any traces of magic, not knowing that a certain fiery-haired girl wanted answers from her.
Sunset Shimmer: Twilight, what have you been up to?
Sci-Twi: Me? Oh, I was just, uh—
Indigo Zap: Who wants to know?!
Rainbow Dash: Um, we do.
Applejack: All right, everyone. Let's not get too competitive before the games even start.
Sugarcoat: The games aren't really competitive since we've never lost.
Fluttershy: That's not a very nice thing to say.
Sunny Flare: Sorry, dearie, but these games aren't about being nice.
Rarity: Well, you might use a little tact.
Sci-Twi backed away, not wanting to get involved in the argument. That's when she bumped into Pinkie Pie.
Pinkie Pie: Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie! (holds out hand)
Sci-Twi: Oh, hi. I'm Twilight.
Pinkie Pie: (shakes her hand rapidly) I know. You look just like my friend. Her name is Twilight too.
Sci-Twi: That's... heh, weird.
Pinkie Pie: (notices her pendant) What's that?
Sci-Twi: It's sort of a spectrometer. I built it to track EM frequencies, but it can also contain anomalies. [beat] It measures things.
Pinkie Pie: Like the party?
Sci-Twi: Yeah, though it doesn't look like much of a party to me.
Pinkie Pie: I know. Something is definitely missing. Come on! (pulls her along)
Sci-Twi: Aah!
Ash, Goh, and Chloe were currently witnessing the argument between their fellow Wondercolts and the Shadowbolts.
Ash: (to Goh and Chloe) You guys, we'd better stop this before this gets outta hand!
Goh and Chloe: Right!
Goh: (gets between the girls) Alright, break it up!
Chloe: Knock it off, you guys!
Ash: Yeah girls! No fighting!
Pikachu: (agreeing) Pika Pika!
Then, some of the Crystal Prep girls got a good look at Ash.
Ash: Hmm?
Indigo Zap: Hold on! Don't I know you from somewhere?
Ash: Huh? Ya do?
Indigo Zap: Now I remember! I saw you on TV! You're Ash Ketchum! The Alola Region Champion!
Ash: (gasps) (smiles) Yeah, that's me!
Indigo Zap: Who would've thought that we'd get to meet the Alola Region Champion in person!
Sunny Flare: We saw your battles at the Manalo Stadium on TV! You were amazing!
Ash: Awesome! Thanks so much!
Sugarcoat: My personal favorite was when you had your Lycanroc Counter the Midnight Lycanroc's Counter, making you win the match.
Sour Sweet: I liked the one where you managed to take down that big bully, Guzma and his Golisopod! (sourly) Serves him right for bullying most of the students at Crystal Prep!
Ash: Hold on! Guzma attended Crystal Prep before even going to the Alola Region?!
Lemon Zest: It's true! Back when he attended Crystal Prep as a teen, Guzma would always bully the first person he sees. Whether it's a guy or a girl. He'd throw the guys into a trash can or flip a girl's skirt!
Ash: Man, he's even worse than I thought!
Pikachu: (agreeing) Pikachu!
Sour Sweet: (gasps) (scoops up Pikachu and cuddles it) So cute! You're the very Pikachu that overpowered Tapu Koko's Guardian of Alola Z-Move with a 10,000,000-Volt Thunderbolt Z-Move! I always wanted to meet you, but you're even more cuddly in person! (cuddles it) (coos) You are such a cutie patootie!
Pikachu: (happy) Pikachu!
Sour Sweet: I think I found my snuggle buddy! (kisses Pikachu on the forehead) Mwah!
Pikachu: (blushes) (coos) Cha!
Ash: That's my buddy for ya!
Lemon Zest: Um, Ash? If it's alright, can we...?
Ash: Let me guess! You girls want my autograph and Pikachu's paw print. Of course!
So, Ash signed the girls autograph cards and Pikacbu stamped its paw print.
Ash: There ya go!
Sugarcoat: (flirtatious) Why, thank you, handsome.
Ash: (blushes) H-handsome? Who me?
Sugarcoat: (flirting) (wrapping an arm around him and cupping his chin) Do you see anyone else who's handsome as you?
Ash: (blushes) I-I guess not!
Sugarcoat: (flirtatious) You know, you're awfully cute when you're nervous.
Ash: (blushes) (smiles) Y-ya think so?
Sugarcoat: (flirtatious) I know so.
Sour Sweet: I know! Whaddya say you and Pikachu ditch those losers and come hang out with the winners.
Ash: Ditch them? Why would I do that?
Sugarcoat: Because we're the best of the best! We've never lost once!
Ash: That's pretty impressive, but I wouldn't ditch my friends! If there's anything you'll know about me, it's loyalty!
Sour Sweet: (sweetly) But you can still be loyal, but only for us winners! (sourly) Not those losers!
Ash: I still wouldn't abandon my friends like that! But I'll gladly be yours!
Sunny Flare: You're very sweet, dearie!
Ash: (smiles) I try!
Sunny Flare: I could literally kiss you lip-to-lip right now!
Then, Goh got in between them before that could happen.
Goh: Alright, I think that's enough!
Sunny Flare: And you are?
Goh: Name's Goh! This is my partner, Raboot!
Raboot: Boot.
Sour Sweet: Eee! (cuddles it) (nuzzles cheeks) It's got to be the cutest thing I've ever seen!
Raboot: (blushes) Raboot!
Indigo Zap: (pulling out a Johto-style Pokédex) Let's see!
Johto Pokédex: Raboot, the Rabbit Pokémon! Its thick and fluffy fur protects it from the cold and enables it to use hotter and stronger Fire type moves. It kicks berries right off the branches of trees and then juggles them with its feet, practicing its footwork.
Indigo Zap: Nice!
Ash: Hey, you got yourself a Johto Pokédex!
Indigo Zap: Sure did! I got it during my summer vacation in Sinnoh at a Johto Festival from some girl named Lyra. She was nice though.
Ash: (gasps) I know Lyra! We're friends!
Indigo Zap: Really?
Ash: Yeah! I met her during my journey in Sinnoh!
Indigo Zap: Oh yeah! I saw your battle against Tobias in the Sinnoh League. You only managed to beat two of his Legendary Pokémon.
Ash: Sure did! (groans) But I managed to beat only two of his while he wiped the floor with all six of mine!
Indigo Zap: (hugs him) I'm sure you'll beat him sooner or later! (flirting) And if you want, we can be your personal cheer squad!
Ash: (blushes) My own personal cheering squad? Thanks! (notices her goggles) Wow! Awesome goggles!
Indigo Zap: Thanks! I purchased them on the fly!
Ash: Awesome! They look super cool on you!
Indigo Zap: (flirting) (hugging Ash) Why thank you, hot stuff!
Ash: (blushes) H-hot stuff?
Indigo Zap: (flirting) Of course! You have that certain kind of charm no other guy has!
Goh: Oh brother! (notices Eelektross) An Eelektross! (takes out Rotom Phone)
Goh's Rotom Phone: Eelektross, the EleFish Pokémon. An Electric type. It latches onto prey with its sucker mouth, sinking in its fangs and shocking the prey with powerful electricity.
Goh: Whoa! That's interesting!
Pikachu then noticed Sunny Flare's Flareon.
Pikachu: (greeting) Pikachu!
Flareon: Flare? (greeting) Flareon!
Goh: Whoa! A Flareon! (points Rotom Phone at it)
Goh's Rotom Phone: Flareon, the Flame Pokémon. A Fire type, and an evolved form of Eevee. It stores some of the air it inhales in its internal flame pouch, which heats it to over 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit.
Goh: Whoa! So that must mean you had an Eevee before you evolved it, right?
Sunny Flare: Indeed, dearie. I found myself a Fire Stone to evolve it into the very Pokemon you see.
Ash: That's awesome!
Then, Ash noticed the matching sun hair clips on both Sunny Flare and Flareon.
Ash: Hey! You two have matching clips!
Sunny Flare: Yep! I got one like mine so Flareon and I can match.
Ash: So cool! They look awesome on the both of you!
Pikachu: (agreeing) Pikachu!
Sunny Flare: (flirting) (hugging) You know, you say the sweetest things, dearie! (eye flutter)
Ash: (blushes) (smiles) I try!
Sunny Flare: And you're really cute! (kisses his cheeks) Mwah! Mwah!
Ash: (blushes hard) I-I-I…
Goh: (snickers)
Rainbow Dash was currently watching this while looking annoyed.
Rainbow Dash: Why is Ash being nice to them?! They're our rivals!
Goh: You can't blame him! He makes a friend out of anybody.
Sunset Shimmer: That's just how he is, Rainbow Dash.
Rainbow Dash: Ugh!
Riolu: (laughing) Rio! Riolu!
Sour Sweet: Eeeeeeee! So cute! (picks up Riolu) A cute little Riolu! (cuddles it) (coos) You're just the cutest little Pokémon I've ever seen! And so cuddly as well!
Riolu: (flailing) Rio! Lu!
Sour Sweet: I think I found my other snuggle buddy! Now I've got two! (kisses it on the forehead) Mwah!
Riolu: (blushes) Ri...
Indigo Zap: Cool! A Riolu! (pulling out a Johto-style Pokédex)
Johto Pokédex: Riolu, the Emanation Pokémon! Riolu has the power to see and understand emotions like happiness and anger in aura waves.
Indigo Zap: I take it, this one's yours too?
Ash: Yeah! I raised it from a Pokémon egg!
Sour Sweet: (flirtatious) Then, that makes you feel like a father figure towards it.
Ash: Oh I wouldn't say that!
Sour Sweet: (flirtatious) Oh contraire! You basically treat them like they're a part of your family, so that would make you a proud daddy! (boops Ash on the nose)
While in Sour Sweet's arms, Riolu couldn't help but snicker at this, while Ash just blushed madly. That's when it noticed Eelektross.
Riolu: (notices Eelektross) Riolu! (escapes from Sour Sweet's grasp) Riolu!
Eelektross: Eelek?
Riolu: (throwing air punches) (wants to battle) Rio! Riolu!
Eelektross: (laughing) Tross Tross Tross Tross!
Riolu: Ri?! (angry) Rio! Riolu!
Ash: What's up, Riolu?
Riolu: Rio Riolu!
Ash: (notices Eelektross) You wanna battle Eelektross, don't ya?
Riolu: (affirmative) Riolu!
Eelektross: (uninterested) Tross!
Indigo Zap: So Eelektross? You're not interested in a match you WON'T win?
Eelektross: (shocked) Tross?! (explaining) TROSS TROSS TROSS! TROSS EELEKTROSS TROSS EELEKTROSS TROSS TROSS TROSS! EELEKTROSS!
Indigo Zap: We'll see about that in the Battle Tournament!
Ash: (gasps) You're in the World Coronation Series too?!
Indigo Zap: Yep! (pulls out her Rotom Phone) (shows Ash her ranking) 685!
Ash: (excited) (eyes sparkle) 685?!
Pikachu: Pika?!
Indigo Zap: That's right! I'm in the Great Class!
Ash: (pulls out Rotom Phone) So am I! (shows her his ranking) 890!
Indigo Zap: Ha! I'm way ahead of you! Just so you know, I'm going to be the one to battle Leon!
Ash: (smirks) We'll see about that!
She then takes his hand and pulls him close to her.
Indigo Zap: (flirting) And if I win in the tournament, you get to go out on date with me!
Ash just blushes madly from that, while Riolu and Eelektross glare at each other.
Riolu: (glaring) Rio...
Eelektross: (glaring) Tross!
That's when Principal Celestia had an announcement to make.
Principal Celestia: Hello, everyone! I'd like to take this opportunity to greet all of our visitors from Crystal Prep Academy and welcome them to CHS.
Pinkie Pie and Sci-Twi were currently pushing two colorful boxes.
Sci-Twi: (pushes box) (grunts) What in the world is in these?
Pinkie Pie: Party cannons, of course!
Principal Celestia: And lastly, I would like to recognize the twelve students, plus our two special guests that CHS has elected to compete. I don't think we could have chosen a better group to represent the excellence, sportsmanship, and friendship the games stand for.
Ash: (clapping) Yeah! That's what it's all about!
Pikachu: (clapping) Pika Pi!
Principal Celestia: And we are very pleased to welcome a special guest joining us in the Friendship Games. The Alola Region Champion himself, Ash Ketchum!
Students: (cheering) (applauding)
Ash: (chuckles nervously)
Principal Celestia: Ash! Care to say a few words?
Ash: (gasps) Uh, alright!
So, Ash went up onto the stage and took the mic from Principal Celestia.
Principal Celestia: Whenever you're ready.
Ash calmed himself by taking a deep breath and then he began to speak.
Ash: Hey, everyone! Ash Ketchum here! Me and my friend, Goh, were given assignments as research fellows to research the Pokémon here in Canterlot! However, I mainly came here to reunite with six special friends of mine from my childhood, and I couldn't be happier to see them again!
The girls smiled at that! Ash continued!
Ash: This may be my first time competing in the Friendship Games, but I know I'll do my very best to help CHS, because I won't give up until it's all over! Point is, I hope we all have a fun time during these games! Win or lose! As Leon would say, (posing) let's have a champion time!
Pikachu: Pika Pikachu!
Everyone clapped and applauded from that.
Rainbow Dash: (applauding) Aww, yeah Ash!
Sunset Shimmer: (applauding) That's our Ash for ya!
Applejack: (applauding) YEEHAW! That a boy, Ash!
Rarity: (applauding) Bravo, darling!
Fluttershy: (applauding) (softly) Woo-hoo!
Goh: (applauding) Yeah, Ash! You tell 'em!
Ash then gave the microphone back to Principal Celestia.
Principal Celestia: Thank you, Ash, for that wonderful speech!
Ash: (smiles) No problem!
Then, Principal Celestia gave Ash a kiss on the cheek.
Ash: (blushes) (gasps)
Pikachu: Pika!
Principal Celestia: (giggles)
As Ash came off the stage, he was immediately hugged by the girls.
Rainbow Dash: You are so awesome!
Applejack: That was very bold of ya, sugarcube!
Rarity: And very inspiring!
Fluttershy: You were amazing!
Sunset Shimmer: You never cease to amaze me, Ash!
Ash: (blushes) Aww shucks, girls! I'm blushing! (notices someone is missing) Hey, where's Pinkie Pie?
Pinkie was currently making improvements to the party to make it more lively.
[party music]
[everyone conversing]
Sci-Twi: Um, are you sure this is a good idea?
Pinkie Pie: Absolutely!
Then, with one pull of the party cannon, streamers were sent flying! Soon, everyone was having a good time and dancing, much to Pinkie Pie's joy, as she ponied up and started to float.
Pinkie Pie: (ponies up) Ooh, floaty!
Ash was surprised by that and saw Pinkie Pie had some party cannons. Soon, Raboot was starting to get into the groove of the music.
Raboot: Raboot! (dancing) Rab Rab Rab! Raboot!
Rainbow Dash: Wow! Raboot can move and groove!
Applejack: Yeehaw! C'mon, y'all! Dance like Raboot!
Then, everyone in the room started dancing too. Even Principal Celestia, Vice Principal Luna and Dean Cadence, while Cinch just stood there in disgust.
Raboot: (dancing) Rab! Raboot! (flips) Ra... Boot! (continues dancing) Rab Rab Raboot!
Fluttershy: (giggles) (dancing) This is fun!
Goh: I figured out Raboot can dance like this back in the Hoenn Region!
Rainbow Dash: And it's awesome at it!
Rarity: (dancing) Well, I'm loving this!
Riolu: (dancing) Olu! Riolu!
Ash: Looks like Riolu's having fun too!
Pikachu: (agreeing) Pikachu!
Sobble: (crawls over to Fluttershy) Sobble!
Fluttershy: Oh! Sobble! (picks it up and nuzzles it) You wanted to come see your Auntie Fluttershy?
Sobble: (nods) Sob Sobble!
Fluttershy: You're really sweet!
Sobble: (happy) Sobble! (snuggles against her)
Fluttershy: (giggles) (snuggles Sobble)
Sunset then pulled Ash to her.
Ash: Huh? Hey, Sunset! What's up?
Sunset Shimmer: May I have this dance, Ash?
Ash: (blushes) Uh, alright!
Then, Ash and Sunset started dancing. Ash was admittedly enjoying this.
Sunset Shimmer: I always wanted to do this with you ever since we were little, Ash!
Ash: Really?!
Sunset Shimmer: Yeah! I wanted to dance with you for a long time, but I never got a chance to ask you.
Ash: Awesome!
Sunset Shimmer: Also, I was wondering if I could take you out for dinner this week. Just the two of us.
Ash: (smiles) Sure! That sounds awesome! After the games of course!
Sunset Shimmer: Right!
Meanwhile, the Shadow 5 were watching this with jealousy.
Indigo Zap: Oh sure! He has to be on their side!
Sour Sweet: (sourly) I'm so jealous!
The rest of the Shadow 5 had to agree.
Indigo Zap: I have an idea! Why don't we get him to transfer to Crystal Prep?
Principal Cinch: That won't be necessary! Because I have plans of my own for Ketchum!
Sugarcoat: And what would those be?
Principal Cinch: That's for me to know and for you girls not to find out!
After she left, the girls started to get suspicious.
Sci-Twi's device was currently picking up another magic reading, coming from Pinkie Pie, as it started sucking the magic out of her, causing her to pony down.
[device humming]
[whoosh]
Pinkie Pie: Aw! Oh. I am party pooped.
Slurpuff: (worried) Slurpuff Slur!
Pinkie Pie: I'm good, Slurpuff!
But as the device absorbed the magic, it sent off a small white spark in the back of the bleachers, creating a portal to a strange creepy forest. Luckily, Sci-Twi was able to close it before it got out of hand. That's when Cinch tapped the microphone, causing everyone to stop partying from the loud noise.
Sobble: (scared) Sobble!
Fluttershy: There there, Sobble!
Principal Cinch: I'd like to thank Principal Celestia for her unconventional welcome. It's been four years since the last Friendship Games, but it feels as though nothing has changed. Canterlot High continues to pick its competitors in a popularity contest and Crystal Prep continues to field its top twelve students. And those 'research fellows' and Cerise's brat can try to help Canterlot High all they want. Crystal Prep is destined to win.
Ash: Says her!
Goh: Yeah!
Chloe: (angry) Hold on, what does she mean by brat?!
Principal Cinch: It is a comfort to know that even after so many years of losses, your school remains committed to its ideals, however misguided they may be. I wish you all the best of luck, regardless of the inevitable outcome.
Soon, both schools were starting to glare at each other once again.
Pinkie Pie: (groans) Oh.
Applejack: I'm sorry, Pinkie. I thought your party additions were really swell.
Ash: Yeah! You're still the best party planner I know!
Pinkie Pie: Whee! (hugs Ash) Thanks, Ash!
Ash: (blushes) (smiles) No problem!
Fluttershy: They definitely broke the ice.
Rarity: Yes. If only that Principal Cinch hadn't frozen it again.
Pinkie Pie: Yeah, she's awful.
Chloe: Yeah! What a grouch!
Goh: She's devious!
Ash: She's just as a stuck up as her students!
Pikachu: (agreeing) Pika Pi!
Sunset Shimmer: Wow, Pinkie, what happened to you?
Pinkie Pie: I don't know. Everyone started having fun after Twilight and I fired the party cannons and I ponied up.
Sunset Shimmer: (smiles) Of course you did.
Ash: (smiles) Classic Pinkie!
Pinkie Pie: But then the magic just drained right out of me.
Ash: Drained out of you?
Sunset Shimmer: Wait, what do you mean "drained out of you"?
Applejack: Hey. Where is that other Twilight?
Pinkie Pie: Oh. She's right... Uh, well, she was right here.
While our heroes were looking for Sci-Twi, Gengar recognized a familiar, yet unfriendly face!
Gengar: Gen! (angry) Gengar...
Ash: What's up, Gengar?
Pikachu: Pika?
Gengar: (points) Gengar!
The group looked and saw an unfriendly familiar face. It was Gengar's former trainer!
Ash: Wait! Is that...?!
Goh: Ash, what's up?
Rarity: Is everything ok, darling?
Ash: Not really! (points) Look!
The girls then took notice to the trainer.
Goh: Him?!
Rainbow Dash: Who is that guy?
Rarity: If you ask me, his fashion sense is absolutely dreadful!
Ash: That's Gengar's old trainer!
Sunset Shimmer: Old trainer? What are you talking about, Ash?
Goh: What Ash means is that that guy used to be Gengar's Trainer before he abandoned it at the Cerise Institute.
Mane 6: Abandoned?!
Ash: Yeah! And all because of some curse he thought Gengar had!
Fluttershy: Curse?!
Goh: Just some superstitious stuff!
Sunset Shimmer: Wait a minute, are you saying he abandoned it because of bad luck?!
Goh: Now, you're catching on!
Ash: He abandoned it, all because he thought it was bad luck! He left it there for 3 years!
Mane 6: 3 YEARS?!
Ash: It's true!
Applejack: (furious) Of all the- I can't believe that low down varmint would stoop so low into abandoning a Pokémon!
Rainbow Dash: That's so not cool!

Pinkie Pie: Big mean meanie pants!
Fluttershy: (tearing up) Oh, Gengar! (hugs Gengar) I'm so sorry for all the torment that horrible trainer put you through! (softly cries)
Gengar: (reassuring) Gengar Gen!
Sunset Shimmer: (angry) Alright, that's it! I'm giving this trainer a piece of my mind!
Ash: Better not, Sunset! He won't listen to reason!
Sunset Shimmer: I'm sorry, Ash! But I'm not letting this slide! (walks off)

Sunset Shimmer: I may still be adjusting to friendship, but I'm about to teach this punk a lesson! (smiles) You with me or what?
Ash: (smiles) Alright!
Gengar's Old Trainer: Ugh! What a bunch of losers!
Sunset Shimmer: Hey, you!
Gengar's Old Trainer: Huh?
Ash: You heard her!

Gengar's Old Trainer: (frightened) WHAT?! You're here too?! Keep away from me!

Pikachu: (agreeing) Pikachu!
Gengar's Old Trainer: In that case, it's your problem now! Good luck handling Gengar's curses!

After that rousing speech Ash gave, a blush overtook Sunset's face.

She then looked over to Gengar's Old Trainer, who was chatting with Jet Set and Uppercrust, and scowled.

The next day, Ash, Goh, Chloe, and the HuMane 6 were arriving at CHS for the start of the Games.
Ash: (excited) Today, the Games begin!

Ash: We're going to show those Crystal Preppers what CHS can do!

Then, there was a certain ringing!

The group looked and saw Flash Sentry with his Rotom Phone.

Flash Sentry: Yep! It's me! (to Ash) And I'm gonna be your opponent!

Rotom Phone: Will you accept or will you decline?
Ash: Girls! Can I? (begging eyes) Please?

Each side will use one Pokémon and the battle will be over when either side's Pokémon is unable to continue! Both sides bring out your Pokémon at the same time! Thank you! 3...2...1...GO!
Ash: (takes out Poké Ball) Dragonite, I choose you!
Flash Sentry: (tosses Poké Ball) Let's go, Kommo-o!

Goh: A Kommo-o?! (takes out Rotom Phone)
Goh's Rotom Phone: Kommo-o, the Scaly Pokémon. A Dragon and Fighting type. It clatters its tail scales to unnerve opponents. This Pokémon will battle only those who stand steadfast in the face of this display. Certain ruins have paintings of ancient warriors wearing armor made of Kommo-o scales.
Goh: Whoa! So cool!
Sunset Shimmer: Ash may have the upper hand! Dragon types are weak against each other, and Dragonite's also a Flying type, which means it'll have a huge advantage over Kommo-o who's part Fighting type!
Ash: Dragonite, use Dragon Claw!
Dragonite: (using Dragon Claw) Brwar!
Flash Sentry: Dodge it!
Kommo-o: (dodges) Kom!
Flash Sentry: Thunder Punch!
Kommo-o: (using Thunder Punch) Kom...MO-O!
Ash: Counter it with Hurricane!

The Hurricane managed to push Kommo-o back and cause some damage.

Ash: Don't let it use the attack! Use Dragon Claw!
Dragonite: (using Dragon Claw) Brwar!

Flash Sentry: (smirks) Impressive! Time for our secret weapon! Clanging Scales!

Both attacks clashed and were evenly matched at first, but Hyper Beam overpowered Dragon Pulse and made contact with Kommo-o.

And Kommo-o fell in defeat with swirls in its eyes.
Kommo-o: (dazed) Kommo...
Rotom Drone: Kommo-o is unable to battle! Dragonite is the winner, which means the victory goes to Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town!
Ash: Alright! We did it, Dragonite!
Pikachu: (happy) Pika Pikachu!
Dragonite: (happy) (proud) Brwar!
Flash Sentry: (takes out Poké Ball) Kommo-o, return!
Rotom Drone: As a result of today's battle, there has been a change in the World Coronation Series Trainer rankings! Hmm! (flies off)
Ash looked on his Rotom Phone and it went up to 872
Ash: 872! Alright!
Pikachu: (happy) Pika!
Rainbow Dash: Aww, yeah! Way to go, Ashy!
Applejack: Yeehaw!
Sunset Shimmer: He won!
Rarity: Bravo!
Fluttershy: Yay!
Pinkie Pie: Ashy Ash, he's our man. If he can't do it, no one can!

Dragonite then gave Ash a bear hug, or a "dragon" hug.

After releasing, Flash came over to them.

Flash Sentry: Thanks, Ash! Same could be said for you and Dragonite!

Dean Cadance: Welcome to the first event, the Academic Decathlon! You'll be scored on chemistry, home-ec and everything in between. But remember, only the six students from each team with the most points will move on to event number 2. Good luck!
Both teams were glaring at one another, while Ash smirked confidently, while Sunset was glaring at Gengar's old trainer. The Shadow 5 started winking, blowing kisses, and making kissy faces at Ash, causing him to burn up.
Ash: (blushes hard) Uh…
Applejack: Ignore them, Ash!
Ash: Alright!
But the Shadow 5 just kept their flirtatious gig up and Ash did his best to ignore them, but all he could do was glance, smile nervously or wave.
Goh: (muffled laughter)
Indigo Zap: We'll see to it that Ashy Boy will fall for us and leave those losers behind!
Lemon Zest: I'm sure he'll fall for me!
Sunny Flare: No way! I want him to fall for me!

The competition first started out with the students in the chemistry lab, mixing different chemicals together over Bunsen burners, in order to create the right mixture, much to Ash's amazement. Unfortunately, Derpy failed as she poured the wrong liquid in her test tube, as it exploded, leaving her hair wild and her face covered in soot. She smiled out of embarrassment, as the rest of the students managed to push forward.

There was a baking event and Pinkie and Fluttershy were taking part in it. Suri Polomare and Uppercrust managed to design a cake with their school's logo, impressing the judges, along with how it tasted. And the winner was CHS, because when Pinkie Pie sliced the cake in half, she revealed a Mona Lisa artwork inside, much to Ash's amazement and him drooling.

Suri Polomare and Uppercrust walk away with their cake feeling defeated, but then they encountered Cinch and became frightened. Seeing her look of disappointment, Suri dropped the cake onto the floor, while Uppercrust glared at her while Suri smiled nervously, causing Cinch to take off her glasses and pinch the bridge of her nose in frustration, while Gengar ate the cake off the floor.

Next round was a home-ec challenge, featuring the students building wooden birdhouses, as they sawed the wood carefully while wearing gloves and goggles. The Shadowbolts seemed to be prepared since they had blueprints for the birdhouse they were constructing and seemed to be prepared, while the Wondercolts seemed unready to complete the task since their plans weren't finished yet. With the sound of nails being hammered into wood and wood being cut by saws, everyone was hard at work.

Soon, the judges started viewing the completed birdhouses, and it seemed all of them were completely intact. Well, all except for the one designed by Sandalwood and Microchips, which seemed to be insecure and sloppy. When Luna tapped it with her pen, it caused the whole thing to fall apart, resulting in their defeat. Indigo Zap and Sugarcoat revealed their birdhouse to be two stories tall with two perches, a balcony, and flames painted on it. All three judges dropped their clipboards in awe at the masterpiece's design, leaving the Wondercolt duo in defeat, causing Microchips and his partner, Magnemite, to hang their heads low. Sandalwood and Ludicolo placed their arms around Microchips' shoulders as they smiled reassuringly as they walked off.

As they were about to leave, Sugarcoat and Indigo Zap shoved them aside as Sugarcoat flicked the remaining piece of the birdhouse out of Microchips' hand, causing him to clench his fist and grit his teeth in anger, as Sandalwood glared at the two, as Ash frowned at their behavior. Fluttershy and Applejack went over to calm them down, by each putting a hand on the boys' shoulders. As Sugarcoat and Indigo Zap walked by Ash, they just winked and blew kisses at him causing him to blush madly, while Sunset glared at the two with jealousy.
[Wondercolts]

Next came the spelling bee, as both the Wondercolts and Shadowbolts were getting words incorrect, as the competition started to heat up.

Both girls were now trying to solve a trigonometry problem on the chalkboard to see who would get the correct answer first.

Vice Principal Luna: That means the winner of the Friendship Games' first event is Twilight Sparkle and Crystal Prep!
Crystal Prep Students: [sigh, scattered applause]
Ash: They could be a little more supportive!
Rainbow Dash: That was awesome!
Rarity: Truly amazing!
Sunset Shimmer: But we didn't win!
Applejack: That was as close to winnin' as Canterlot's ever been.
Dean Cadance: After a careful tally of the points, we'd like to present the students moving on to the Friendship Games' second event.

After dispersing, Goh went to confront Cinch.
Goh: I know you're a liar, Cinch!
Raboot: (agreeing) Raboot.
Principal Cinch: Excuse me?!
Goh: Those problems were very similar! You only told Sunset's was incorrect just so your school would get the win! Talk about fraud!
Principal Cinch: You spout such nonsense! Now begone before my Malamar does a way with your stoic rabbit and timid lizard!
Malamar: (threatening) Mala!
Goh: Malamar? (takes out Rotom Phone)
Goh's Rotom Phone: Malamar, the Overturning Pokémon. A Dark and Psychic type. Gazing at its luminescent spots will quickly induce a hypnotic state, putting the observer under Malamar's control.
That made Goh a little nervous!
Sobble: (scared) Sob! (runs over to Fluttershy and jumps into her arms) Sob Sobble!
Fluttershy: There there, Sobble!
Goh: This isn't over! (walks away)
Principal Cinch: Trust and believe, it's just begun!
Raboot: (not intimidated) Raboot. (walks away)
Goh: That Principal Cinch is really starting to bug me!
Raboot: (agreeing) Rab!
Sci-Twi: (bumps into Gengar's Old Trainer) Oh! S-sorry!
Gengar's Old Trainer: Whatever! Just don't let it happen again, ya geeky nerd!
Ash: Hey! Leave her alone! It was an accident!
Pikachu: (agreeing) Pika Pika!
Gengar's Old Trainer: Whatever! (walks away)
Ash: (growls) (to Sci-Twi) (smiles) You alright?

Ash: No problem! Oh! (holds out hand) I'm Ash by the way!

Ash: Nice to meet you, Twilight! (notices her pendant) Whoa! What's that?!

Ash: (eyes sparkle) That's so cool! What does it do?
Sci-Twi: (nervous) (telling a fib) N-nothing really!

Pikachu: (smiles) Pika Pi!

She then started to scratch Pikachu under its chin, much to its enjoyment.

Sci-Twi: You're just the cutest little Pokémon ever!

Sci-Twi: Oh! I gotta go! See ya later, Ash! (leaves)
Ash: See ya! (to Pikachu) We'd better catch up with the others!

Then, Sour Sweet pulled him to her and the rest of the Shadow 5.

Sour Sweet: [sweetly] We just caught the Handsome Pokémon, Ash!
Ash: (blushes) (giggles) Me a handsome Pokémon? That's funny!
Sour Sweet: [sourly] But enough of that! We need to speak with you about an important matter.
Ash: Ok! What's up?
Sour Sweet: We want a cute guy like you to join Crystal Prep!
Ash: Wait, hold on! What do you mean join Crystal Prep?
Lemon Zest: With someone of your strength and power, Crystal Prep will be unstoppable! You should join us!
Ash: Hold on! I can't do that! That would mean leaving my friends behind! Besides, I have my duties as a research fellow, which is all the way back in the Kanto Region!
Sunny Flare: But don't you get tired of doing things like that everyday? And besides, you don't need those losers! We can be your friends!

And so, the Shadow 5 huddled up.
Lemon Zest: Well, this isn't working!
Indigo Zap: On to plan B! We tie Ash to a chair and I'll force a kiss onto his lips! He's sure to change his mind after that! Now, Sour, you get him to sit in a chair and wrap his arms around the back of it. Lemon, you tie his arms to the back of the chair. And Sunny, you tie his legs to the chair legs.
Sour Sweet: [sourly] Wait a minute! Why should you get to kiss him?!
Indigo Zap: It's my plan B! But, if you're all willing to kiss him too, then I won't stop any of you!
Principal Cinch: And just what are you five whispering about?
Lemon Zest: Um, uh... (telling a fib) Just our strategy for the next part of the games! (puts on a fake smile)
Sugarcoat: That's a lie. We were planning on getting Ash to join CPA.
Lemon Zest: And certainly not trying to convince him through forced lip contact!
Principal Cinch: Right! I appreciate the offer, girls! But, I plan on getting Ash to join.
Indigo Zap: (groans) Fine!
The Shadow 5 then left, but they turned to Ash and smirked, while winking and blowing kisses to him.
Principal Cinch: May I have a word with you, Mr. Ketchum?
Ash: Ok? What's up?
Pikachu: Pika?
Riolu: [suspicious] Riol...
Principal Cinch: Since I heard of your success at the Alola Region, I want you to join Crystal Prep! You could help Crystal Prep with winning the Friendship Games every year!
Ash: Hold on! Winning isn't everything! It's what you do that counts! Besides, that would mean I'd have to leave Kanto for a really long time! I couldn't do something like that!
Principal Cinch: But you're the champion! You can do whatever you want!
Ash: Just because I'm a champion doesn't mean I get to do anything I want!
Principal Cinch: But you'll fit right in with the other students at Crystal Prep. Best think about while you have the chance. (walks off)
Ash: My answer will still be "no"!
After he left, Cinch thought to herself.
Principal Cinch: I will find a way to get Ketchum to join us if it's the last thing I do!
Ash: Hey, girls!
Applejack: There you are, Ash! Where've ya been?
Ash: Nowhere in particular! Cinch tried to get me to join Crystal Prep!
Rainbow Dash: What?!
Ash: It's true!
Pikachu: Pika!
Applejack: And what did you say to that?
Ash: Simple! I refused!
Applejack: And we'd like to keep it that way!
Rarity: Agreed!
Ash: [smiles] Yep! I'm as stubborn as Applejack!
Applejack: Yep! You're as stubborn as I am! [realizing what Ash said] Hey…
Ash: [cheeky] Ain't I a stinker!
Applejack: [smiles playfully] [wraps an arm around him] Then, you won't if I find your tickle spot!
Ash: Huh?
Applejack: And if I recall, it was on your sides! [tickles Ash on the sides]
Ash: [laughing] Applejack, stop! That tickles! That tickles! [laughs harder]
Applejack: (chuckles) Do you give up, Ashy Boy?!
Ash: [laughing] I surrender! I surrender!
Then, Applejack stopped tickling Ash and it left him panting.
Applejack: (chuckles)
Rainbow Dash: C'mon! We've gotta get ready for the next event!
Ash: Oh! Right! Let's go!
As they walked off, Sunset just glared at Gengar's Old Trainer while joining her friends.
Later that day, as our heroes were hanging around the school statue, Sci-Twi seemed to be spying on them, as Fluttershy seemed to be going to the front, as Ash followed her. When she got on the ground, a cat seemed to pop out of her backpack, as she nuzzled it with affection.
Ash: (chuckles) You snuck a cat with you, Fluttershy?
Fluttershy: They get so lonely while I'm at school.
Ash: (giggles)
Pikachu: (goes over to Fluttershy) Pikachu!
Fluttershy then pets Pikachu on the head.
Pikachu: (happy) Pika Pika!
Fluttershy: (smiles) (holds Pikachu) You know I'll always love you too, Pikachu!
Pikachu: (happy) Pika Pi!
Ash: You'll always have that caring heart of yours, Fluttershy.
Fluttershy: (smiles) (blushes) T-thank you, Ash.
Ash: (smiles) No problem!
Then, they saw Sci-Twi, and she seemed to be focused on the cat Fluttershy had.
Ash: Oh, hey Twilight!
Pikachu: (greeting) Pika!
Fluttershy: Do you wanna give her a treat?
Sci-Twi: Guess I'm not the only one to smuggle her pet into school.
Fluttershy: [giggles] Not just one.
She then opened her backpack, also revealing a bunny, bird, and guinea pig.
Sci-Twi: Oh, wow. All I have is Spike.
Puppy Spike: [panting]
Fluttershy: [picks him up] It really is uncanny. Does he talk?
Sci-Twi: Um, not that I know of.
Fluttershy: Congratulations on winning, by the way. Though, it didn't seem like anyone on your team was very excited about it.
Sci-Twi: [sad] No one at my school gets excited about anything they didn't do themselves.
Fluttershy: That sounds awful.
Ash: That just isn't right! They should be more supportive! (picks up Pikachu) Here! Why don't you hold Pikachu?
Sci-Twi: Are you sure?
Ash: Of course! Go for it!
Sci-Twi: A-Alright! (takes Pikachu)
Then, Pikachu started nuzzling against her.
Pikachu: (coos) Cha!
Sci-Twi: Oh! [cuddles Pikachu] You're really soft and cuddly!
Pikachu: Pika Pi!
Then, Riolu patted her leg with its paw as a way to help Sci-Twi feel better!
Riolu: Rio!
Sci-Twi smiled and petted Riolu on the head.
Sci-Twi: You're really sweet too, Riolu!
Riolu: Riolu!
Ash: So, this is Spike, right?
Sci-Twi: Yeah! He's my best friend!
Ash: That's awesome! [to Spike] Hi there, Spike!
Puppy Spike: [barks]
That's when Spike jumped onto him and started licking his face.
Ash: [laughing] Hey, that tickles!
Sci-Twi: Guess he likes you!
Goomy: Goom?
Ash: Man, your Goomy reminds me of the one I had during my adventure in Kalos!
Sci-Twi: (gasps) You had a Goomy too?!
Ash: Yeah! But it evolved into a full-grown Goodra and is back in Kalos with its friends.
Sci-Twi: Incredible!
Goomy: (nervous) Goomy...
Ash: No need to worry, Goomy! I won't hurt you!
Goomy: Goo?
Sci-Twi: Go ahead, Goomy!
Goomy then approached Ash, and crawled up his arm.
Goomy: (happy) Goom! (sucks on Ash's ear) Goomy!
Ash: (giggles) Hey, Goomy! That tickles!
Sci-Twi: Guess Goomy likes you already!
Ash: Yeah!
Fluttershy: (holds out a bunny) Here. Hold this.
Sci-Twi: [takes bunny] Um, why?
Fluttershy: Holding a bunny always makes me feel better.
Sci-Twi: Well, that's ridiculous. But… [bunny nuzzles against her] Ooh. It actually kind of works. I'm on the other team and you just lost. Why are the both of you being so nice to me?
Fluttershy: You looked like you needed it.
Then, Fluttershy started ponying up. Then, Sci-Twi's pendant started reacting and started sucking the magic out of Fluttershy. Then, portals started opening up and a bunny with antlers emerged from one of them and Spike the dog started chasing it and he ended up in Fluttershy's magic. Sci-Twi was able to close the pendant just in time, as she ran over to her dog and Ash was helping Fluttershy up on her feet.
Ash: Are you alright, Fluttershy?!
Pikachu: (concerned) Pika!
Riolu: (concerned) Rio!
Fluttershy: I-I think so…
Sci-Twi: Spike, are you okay?
Puppy Spike: Um, I think so.
Sci-Twi and Puppy Spike: Daaaah!
Ash: IT TALKED!
Sci-Twi: [squeals] [runs off]
Puppy Spike: Twilight, wait! [runs after her]
Goomy: [runs after her] Goomy!
Fluttershy: [sighs] Bye.
Vivillon: (worried) Vivillon Viv!
Ash: Vivillon, watch over Fluttershy! I'm going after Twilight! [goes after Twilight and Spike]
Pikachu: [follows Ash] Pika!
Riolu: [follows Ash] Olu!
Meanwhile, Sci-Twi was currently running through the school.
Sci-Twi: [panting]
Puppy Spike: Twilight, come on! Wait for me! [panting] Why did you run away like that?
Sci-Twi: Um, oh, I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with the glowing girl, or the hole in space. Or my talking dog!
Puppy Spike: Yeah. Weird, right?
Sci-Twi: Are you okay? How do you feel? What happened? Where did you go?
Puppy Spike: Hey, one question at a time! This is pretty new to me, too.
Sci-Twi: Sorry.
Puppy Spike: All I know is I chased that pointy rabbit through the glowy thing and then I was somewhere else. Next thing I knew, I was back in that nice girl's arms and I could talk! I don't really understand why I couldn't before. I mean, it's so easy.
Ash: Twilight!
Sci-Twi: Uh, yes?
Ash: What happened back there?
Sci-Twi: I...I don't know!
Ash: Why is it that you seemed so focused on magic?
Sci-Twi: B-Because I...
Principal Cinch: Twilight.
Sci-Twi: That's my principal! You'd better go!
Ash: Right! [leaves]
Sci-Twi: (to Spike) Quick! [opens locker] Hide in here!
[locker closes]
Principal Cinch: Who are you talking to?
Sci-Twi: Um, myself. It's a nervous habit. Were you looking for me?
Principal Cinch: Indeed I was. Quite a coincidence that the CHS students moving on to the next event are the same nice girls who were so interested in you, don't you think?
Sci-Twi: I'm not sure.
Principal Cinch: Perhaps you should get to know them after all.
Sci-Twi: But I thought you didn't want me to.
Principal Cinch: Let's just say I'm covering my bases. Who knows? Perhaps they will reveal to you the secret to Canterlot High's newfound success. And I want Ash Ketchum to join my school to further enhance the school's invincibility.
Sci-Twi: B-but why?
Principal Cinch: He is the Alola Region Champion after all! It's only right if a man of his strength, power and talents should join Crystal Prep Academy.
Sci-Twi: I dunno. Spying feels kind of... wrong.
Principal Cinch: Well, it's your decision, Twilight. It's not as if your application hangs in the balance. On second thought, yes, it does.
Puppy Spike: [comes out of locker] Man, she's awful. What are you gonna do?
Sci-Twi: [sighs] I don't know, Spike. I don't know.
Goomy: (worried) Goom…
Meanwhile, Ash, Goh, Chloe, and the HuMane 6 were discussing the matter at hand.
Fluttershy: All I did was hand Twilight a bunny. Then I ponied up.
Ash: Yeah! It was crazy!
Sunset Shimmer: I just don't get it. Rarity's magic came out when she made us outfits. Pinkie's when she fixed the party and now Fluttershy.
Fluttershy: And then Twilight's pendant thingy just pulled the magic right out of me. I couldn't even stand up.
Pinkie Pie: Like me at the party!
Rarity: Or me right before we met Twilight!
Goh: It's all very mysterious!
Raboot: [intrigued] Raboot!
Glaceon: [feels bad that it couldn't help Rarity] Glace!
Rarity: It's alright, Glaceon dear!
Ash: I still don't get it! Why is it that Twilight's so interested in magic?
Pikachu: Pikachu?
Chloe: I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation.
Rainbow Dash: [to Goh] [teasing] And it's definitely not some ghost of a student! [snickers]
Goh: Hey!
Ash: And I still don't understand why Cinch wants me to join Crystal Prep so bad!
Applejack: Probably because you're the Alola Region Champion and she wants you to join them to make them unstoppable!
Ash: Well I'm not joining! I'm sticking with you guys!
Sunset Shimmer: [as she boops him on the nose] And we want to keep it that way!
Ash: [giggles]
Farfetch'd (Kanto) and Farfetch'd (Galar): [clashing] Far!
Ash: Hey, you two! No sparring in the school!
Goh: [teasing] Unless you want a detention!
That made the two duck Pokémon cease and desist.
Ash and Goh: [chuckle]
Chloe: Maybe Twilight is trying to take the magic.
Sunset Shimmer: So she's stealing magic?
Applejack: I don't know. She doesn't seem like the magic-stealin' type.
Sunset Shimmer: Yeah, but she had something to do with closing the portal. If her pendant can pull in magic, maybe it stole the portal, too.
Fluttershy: How?
Sunset Shimmer: I don't know. And the pony or person or princess who could help me figure this out is completely unreachable now.
Pinkie Pie: [popping out of lockers] Which is too bad, because Twilight knows everything about magic and portals and magical portals and portable magics! [falls out the door]
Goh: [sweat drops] Right…
Rainbow Dash: [helps Pinkie up] For now, let's just focus on beating the Shadowbolts. And as long as this event puts me in a playing field, I don't think we've got anything to worry about.
Applejack: Oh, it puts you on a playin' field, alright.
Pinkie Pie: [gasps loudly]
Turns out, a huge relay had been set out on the field! Complete with a roller derby, a motocross track, and an archery course.
Sunset Shimmer: Am I the only one who thinks this is overkill?
Chloe: Nope! It's definitely overkill!
Ash: Wow! It looks so awesome!
Pikachu: [agreeing] Pika!
Goh: I second that!
Raboot: [intrigued] Raboot!
Applejack: [kicks dirt pile] [to Rarity] I don't suppose you made motocross outfits.
Rarity: Oh, don't be ridiculous. [takes out outfits] Of course I did!
Ash: [chuckles] You're still the best at fashion, Rarity!
Rarity: Thank you, Ash!
Ash: Hey! Mind if me, Goh, and Chloe join in?
Goh: Huh?! But Ash, I don't know much about archery!
Chloe: And I never roller skated before!
Ash: Who cares? As long as we try our best, we're bound to win! Who's with me?
Applejack: [places a hand on his shoulder] Don't worry, Goh! Ya just have to aim at where the target is gonna be! That's all!
Goh: Well, if you say so!
Rarity: [places a hand on Chloe's shoulder] Not to worry, Chloe dear! Just stick with me and everything will be alright!
Chloe: Alright!
Ash: Then it's settled!
Goh: Ash, that means you'll have to do the motocross!
Ash: Sounds good to me! [to Sunset and Rainbow] Mind if I join you two?
Sunset Shimmer: Sure! You can join us!
Ash: Awesome! [to Rarity] Rarity, you wouldn't happen to have any spare motocross outfits, would ya?
Rarity: I sure do! I even happen to have made one in your size.
Goh: Man! You seemed prepared for these sorts of things!
Rarity: Indeed I am!
Meanwhile, Cinch was giving the events for the Shadow 5 and Gengar's Old Trainer to do in the tricross relay.
Principal Cinch: You will race in pairs. Indigo Zap and Sugarcoat will handle the motocross.
Indigo Zap: Yes!
Principal Cinch: Lemon Zest and Sunny Flare have requested the short track.
Lemon Zest and Sunny Flare: [high five each other]
Principal Cinch: Since archery is a standard requirement at our school, any of you should be able to do it. Twilight and Sour Sweet will start us off.
Sour Sweet: [sweetly] Well, that's just marvelous! [sourly] If you wanna lose before we even start!
Gengar's Old Trainer: [laughing] Rough day, sweetheart?
Sour Sweet: [sourly] Shut it!
Principal Cinch: [to Gengar's Old Trainer] As for you, you'll be doing the motocross.
Gengar's Old Trainer: Whatevs!
Principal Cinch: You've seem to encounter Ketchum before, correct?
Gengar's Old Trainer: Not to be rude, but what's it to ya?
Principal Cinch: See if you can find out any information about him. I have plans for him. Do it, and it'll be worth it for you.
Gengar's Old Trainer: And if I refuse?
Malamar: [lights on chest glow] Mala…
Gengar's Old Trainer: Okay! Okay! I'll do it! But I have to ask one thing! What are your plans for him anyhow?
Principal Cinch: You'll see soon enough!
Gengar's Old Trainer: Oh yeah? What'll be in it for me?
Principal Cinch: Do it, and there will be an extremely rare Pokémon in it for you.
Gengar's Old Trainer: Which one?
Principal Cinch: And spoil the surprise?
Gengar's Old Trainer: Fair point! I'll do it!
Principal Cinch: Marvelous! Given that Twilight won the last event single-handedly, I have every confidence that she will be able to pull her weight here. [to Sci-Twi] Won't you?
Sci-Twi: [smiles nervously] [nods]
Soon, the students of CHS and CPA had gathered together at the bleachers, cheering for their teams.
[camera shutter clicking]
Dean Cadance: Welcome, everyone to the Friendship Games Tricross Relay!
[crowd cheering]
Dean Cadance: In this event, our qualifying competitors will face off in archery, speed skating, and finally, motocross.
[engine revs]
Applejack: Ya ready, Goh?
Goh: As ready as I'll ever be, AJ! But I'm still feeling a little nervous!
Raboot: [determined] Raboot!
Goh: You're right, Raboot! I can do this! Just aim for where the target is going to be!
Raboot: Boot!
Pinkie Pie: [to Rarity and Chloe] [excited] You girls, ready?!
Rarity: Indeed!
Chloe: [trying to keep her balance] I will be if I can keep my balance! [nearly falls] Whoa!
Rarity: [catches her] I've got you, darling! Remember, remain calm!
Chloe: Right! It's just kinda hard to balance yourself on rollerblades!
Rarity: Here! [puts an arm around her shoulder] Just link your arm onto my shoulder and I'll make sure you won't fall.
Chloe: Right! Thanks, Rarity!
Yamper: Yamp Yamper!
Chloe: Yamper, you stay here and off to the side until we're finished, okay?
Yamper: [affirmative] Yamp!
Chloe: Great! [to Flash Sentry] Flash, could you watch Yamper for me please?
Flash Sentry: Sure! It might become good friends with my Manectric!
Manectric: (agreeing) Manectric!
Yamper: (excited) Yamp! [runs over to Manectric] Yamp! Yamper!
Manectric: Mane!
Meanwhile, on the ramp for the motorbikes, Ash arrived in his motocross suit.
Ash: Hey, girls! How do I look?
Rainbow Dash: You look awesome, Ash!
Sunset Shimmer: Yeah! Very awesome!
Ash: Thanks! The both of you look super awesome too!
Pikachu: [agreeing] Pikachu!
Sunset blushed when he said that!
Ash: [notices her bike] [eyes sparkle] Whoa! Your motorbike is painted fiery! That's so cool!
Pikachu: [agreeing] Pikachu!
Riolu: [amazed] Rio...
Sunset Shimmer: Thanks!
Ash: Sunset, would it be alright if Riolu rode with you?
Sunset Shimmer: Sure! I don't mind!
Ash: Thanks so much! [to Riolu] Riolu, go over to Sunset!
Riolu: (complying) Olu! [jumps onto Sunset's motorbike] Rio!
Sunset Shimmer: [pets its head] You just hang on to me and relax, okay?
Riolu: [affirmative] Riolu!
Rainbow Dash: [to Indigo Zap, Sugarcoat, and Gengar's Old Trainer] Get ready to eat our dust!
Indigo Zap: We'll see about that! [to Ash] Good luck, cutie! You'll need it for when we win!
Ash: [blushes] Y-yeah right!
Indigo Zap: If we win, you get to take us girls out on a date!
Sugarcoat: And perhaps join us at Crystal Prep.
Ash: [blushes hard] UHHHHHHHH!
Sunset grew with jealousy from that.
Gengar's Old Trainer: Heh! Looks like you struck a nerve in Li'l Miss Flare Head!
Sunset Shimmer: [growls]
Ash: Hey, leave her alone!
Sugarcoat: (flirting) And you can still join Crystal Prep and be the only handsome guy in school.
Rainbow Dash: He won't be going anywhere! He's been super loyal to us and always will be!
Sunset Shimmer: Yeah!
Ash: Got that right!
Indigo Zap: We'll see about that, cutie!
Sugarcoat: Until then, sugar lips! [blows Ash a kiss]
Ash just continues to burn bright red while Sunset grows more jealous.
Sunset Shimmer: (in her mind) I'll show them! Nobody tries to flirt with my crush!
Riolu: [determined] Ri! Riolu!
Sunset Shimmer: Thanks, Riolu!
Riolu: [determined] Rio! Riolu!
Ash: Let's have a champion time!
Pikachu: [agreeing] Pika Pika!
Narrator: As the Friendship Games continue to press on, our heroes continue to try their best to beat Crystal Prep! Will they succeed or will they fail? The answers to come as the journey continues!
