Indigard: I do that when the characters are speaking a non-english language, but it is still typed in english.

Rev0: Yeah my mistake

EvilTheLast: Well, it wasn't just the assasination, I could give you a history lesson but I suppose you should just look it up for yourself.

Karl's Bar & Beef, Berlin, June 28th, 1914

"(I ain't hic abou' to be no Hic! Damn midwife!)" Erena slurred in a drunken stupor,

"(This was a bad idea.)" Erik admitted,

"(This was a terrible idea.)" Vernier agreed.

"(I can't believe Erena actually agreed to this.)" Erik said, "(I mean, she was always the one warning us away from bars.)"

"(This is likely going to be one of the last times we see her,)" Dorsch said quietly, "(She's going to have to attend Medical School to actually be in the Medical Corps.)"

They fell quiet at this, Erena hiccuped again.

"(Man, even Erena gets piss-drunk sometimes.)" Markus came over to them, "(Hey, how about that kiss?)"

"(I may be drunk Hic! But Iii ain't Hic! stupid!)" Erena hiccuped/laughed, causing the entire bar full of Cadets to begin jeering at Markus.

"(Why you-)"

SCREEEEECH! An unearthly scream tore through the bar. The bartender grabbed a gun from under the table

"(What was that?)"

"(It wasn't human, that's for sure.)"

Vernier ran to the door and peered outside, and strangely, it was abandoned. Completely dead silent.

Callop! Callop! Callop!

'(Horses? A Police drill maybe?)' But deep down, Vernier knew horrible was happening.

The hoofbeats steadily got louder and closer, and Vernier began hearing wingbeats as well. '(The hell?)' He wondered.

Suddenly, an armored wyvern brushed past the corner and charged straight at Vernier. He barely had time to roll back into the bar before he was nearly skewered by the rider's lance. The rider was immediately followed by dozens of knights on horseback.

'Mein gott…' Vernier slammed the door shut. "(Barricade the door! Hurry!)" He shouted,

"(What's going on?! What the hell flew past you?!)"

"(Either a really well done Roman reenactment. Or we're being invaded by forces from another world. Take your pick.)" Vernier grabbed a table and slammed it against the door.

"(You lost your marbles Vernier?)" Markus called,

"(You want to challenge the validity of my claims be my guest, step outside and-)" His remaining words were lost as deafening hoofbeats erupted from outside. They watched in a mix of terror and awe as what had to be dozens of knights charged outside.

Erik and Dorsch immediately set to work. Stacking tables and chairs against the door, they were subsequently joined by the rest of the Cadets, while the Bartender stood vigil with his rifle.

"(Alright. The doors sealed. What now?)" Erik asked, and suddenly Vernier realized that, whether he liked it or not, he was in a position of command here.

"(Hey, Karl. Do you have any guns?)"

"(I got several in the backroom!)" He offered,

"(Alright. One gun per person, we need as many armed as we can get. Karl, do we have vodka?)"

"(Fresh shipment yesterday thank god.)"

"(Gather as much vodka, rags, and tape as you can, we'll make grenades with those. Move out! There isn't much time!)"

Several minutes later, the Cadets were armed with a mix of rifles and revolvers, and those who lacked guns carried the explosive vodka mixtures. As well as sets of matches.

"(Alright, line up by the window. We want to take them by surprise.)" He looked out the window. They hadn't been noticed.

Yet.

The street was now flooded with the medieval soldiers, as well as creatures which seemed straight out of fantasy. Several large deformed brutes carried clubs and maces. Humanoid pig-like creatures roamed the streets.

"(Steady… don't smash the windows yet.)" He waited until they began to cluster,

"(Now! Open fire!)" The bar erupted in gunfire. The Cadets tossed their make-shift grenades at the enemy, other Cadets fired their firearms, gunning down a mix of knights and humanoid creatures alike.

In the face of this sudden burst of resistance, the enemy scattered and retreated, leaving nothing but burning and bullet-riddled corpses.

Vernier lowered his rifle. "(They'll be back soon…)" He said quietly. "(We need to leave the bar. We will be overwhelmed and destroyed here.)" He turned to Karl, "(Is there another door?)"

He nods, "(Towards the back.)" He leads the Cadets out into an alleyway, where they head unto another street where they emerge only to find the bodies of hundreds of civilians lying dead.

Erena wretched, a mix of hangover and disgust. Several Cadets gagged. A shadow fell on Vernier's face, '(Whoever did this. Whoever was responsible. Will burn.)' He turned to the Cadets,

"(Keep moving! We're still behind enemy lines!)" Vernier shouted at them. The cadets gather themselves and keep moving, gunning down the occasional demi-human or foot-soldier.

Finally, the enemy soldiers began to thicken, and Vernier realized they were getting closer to the frontline, and sure enough, a large group of enemy warriors were engaging with Police Calvary, and while the Calvary were holding them back for now, it wasn't long until they'd be overwhelmed by the enemy.

"(Vernier. What do you want us to do?)" Erik edged up to him, his tone serious.

"(We don't have enough men to break through. And if we stay to aid the Calvary we'll only be overwhelmed with them. We'll go around.)"

"(Right…)" Erik didn't like it, but he saw Vernier's point.

Gardekorps Headquarters, Berlin

"Herr Plettenberg!" A soldier rushed into his office, "(News from the front! Charlottenburg and Tiergarten has been completely overrun by enemy soldiers! Spandau is 30% occupied.)"

"(Do we have any estimates on their numbers.)" Infantry General Karl Von Plettenberg replied

"(I estimate approximately five thousand infantry, along with an additional one thousand calvary.)"

"(Deploy the Guards Cavalry Division. And request requisitioning of troops from Alcase-Lorraine. We're going to need them.)"

"(Sir!)" The Adjutant snapped his heels and walked out briskly

'(Europe will never forget this day...the day we were invaded by an army from another world.)'

Ginza District, Tokyo, The Japanese Empire

"Tenno Heika Banzai!" An officer raised his sword in a high arc over a cowed foot soldier,

"(Wait please-)" The man screamed before his head was sliced off.

Japanese Imperial Guard streamed throughout the streets. Brutally bayonetting any soldiers that came in their way.

"(Advance!)" An officer screamed, "(Don't look back! Defend Tokyo and our Empire! Advance!)"

Meanwhile General Slaskaven overlooked the battle from his tent. "(The enemy has proven to be more resistant than expected. Showing up in the center of their city threw them into momentary chaos, but once what I believe to be regular army showed up here they've been driving us back non-stop…)" He tch'ed. "(Fall back! Form a defensive wall around this area! And get me that siege equipment-)"

Ka-Boom! Ka-Boom!

Two explosions came and detonated in the center of their camp. 'What the- enemy siege equipment?! No...this has to be magic!' He thought incredulously as his soldiers began to panic!

"(Run for your lives!)"

"(They have mages!)"

As soon as the explosions began his soldiers began to break ranks and retreat. And taking advantage of the chaos, the enemy soldiers flooded in and charged, as Slaskaven looked on with an incredulous stare.

'(Dear god. This is the end.)'

That was his last thought before his entire world was engulfed in flame.
