Izuku deals with the chaos that comes after his mom's death
Izuku jolted awake as he heard the sound of muffled voices and crunching rubble approach him. He immediately jumped into action ready to protect himself and the few belongings he had left.
As the sounds grew closer Izuku relaxed slightly when he realized it was the heroes looking for trapped civilians. He hastily wiped the remaining tears off his face and straightened his clothing the best he could. He couldn't allow them to find any faults in him, especially if they were the people he hoped to work with one day.
Izuku paled as he made out the words "fatal injuries" and "no survivors". He knew any fight that involved Hisashi would cause a lot of damage but he never imagined it would be this bad.
The large block of rubble in front of him suddenly started disintegrating and an alarmed Izuku jumped up and narrowed his eyes. A few seconds later Thirteen and Centipeder walked over the remains of the rubble but stopped short when they saw Izuku standing over his mom's body and holding his bag in a death grip.
"Oh dear" Thirteen said sadly
Izuku could practically feel the pity rolling off Thirteen and Centipeder, he bit back his scowl and managed to get out a "Hi"
"Hey kid" Centipeder said in a soft voice "You're safe now, ok? We'll get you out of here"
Izuku nodded and casting one last glance at his mom, clambered onto Centipeders back as they made their way out of the wreckage.

"Just throw it into one of the orphanages" a police officer said from the other side of the door
"We have protocols for kids who've experienced traumatizing situations!" another officer yelled "Why are you just brushing his case off? He's the only survivor that came out that apartment complex"
Izuku cringed at the reminder, if only he'd been a little faster, a little more attentive maybe mom would be alive.
"He's quirkless" the first officer said the distaste obvious in his voice
"So?!" the second officer sounded furious, Izuku felt a bit bad for him. Poor guy was fighting a losing battle "He's a child! He just went through something extremely traumati-"
"Morikami just give it up" a third voice chimed it "Kids a lost cause, he's probably gonna end up dead in a couple of years anyway"
"You're all unbelievable" the second officer, Morikami, scoffed before opening the door to the room Izuku was in
"Hey buddy" Morikami said gently
"What's gonna happen to me?" Izuku asked bluntly seeing no point in beating around the bush
"Uhh, I'm going to be taking you to your new home" Morikami said a hint of shock in his voice at Izuku's nonchalance to the situation.
"Ok," Izuku said dully not wanting to cause any more trouble for the poor man. It would be easier to run away from the foster care system that already had too much on their plates rather than the only person that seemed inclined to help him.
The drive towards Izuku's new "home" was filled with a thick silence that neither of them seemed to be willing to break.
"Officer?" Izuku asked suddenly his mind flashing to the words that he heard back at the station
"What's up kid?" Morikami asked
"I understand that you probably have no control over this but if you can find a way I'd appreciate it if you managed to keep my name and my mom's name out of the news" Izuku said, he wouldn't be able to deal with everyone at school knowing about this, shoving his failure back in his face over and over again.
Izuku already knew it should've been him, he didn't need to be reminded every day.
"I'll see what I can do kid" Morikami said finally
Izuku smiled gratefully at him and the rest of the ride went by in a companionable silence.

"You're the new kid, right?" a girl asked waltzing up to Izuku
"Yeah" Izuku said blankly not really looking forward to the outcome of this conversation
"So what's your quirk?" she asked
"I'm quirkless," Izuku stated seeing no point in making something up, he wasn't planning on sticking around.
The girl visibly recoiled from him. Izuku almost rolled his eyes, honestly you would think he just said he had some sort of contagious incurable disease by the way people acted around him.
"Freak" the girl snarled at him before walking out of the room

It didn't take long for word of Izuku's condition to make its way around the orphanage.
People avoided him like the plague, the only attention he got was the occasional beatings from the older kids and some taunts thrown his way. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Izuku found himself appreciating the isolation because it gave him time to hatch an escape plan. It wouldn't exactly be hard to slip away unnoticed but he needed to make sure to get his name out of the system.
Over the next few days Izuku walked around the orphanage finding the fastest escape routes as well as the registration desk. By the end of the week he was ready.

Izuku grabbed his backpack and after double checking to make sure he had everything he silently made his way out of the room. The floorboards were a bit creaky but it wasn't anything Izuku couldn't manage.
Izuku made it to the registration room without any trouble and after making sure to completely wipe his existence from the computers jumped out of the window.
He was free.

Izuku scowled as he was dropped off at yet another orphanage, he wouldn't be able to keep going like this. It had been pure luck at this point that no one looked further into his case file. Izuku realized he would probably need to get a fake I.D. if he wanted to be a functioning member of society. Over the past decade the quirkless started to get banned from most public places depending on what their status was. Quiet frankly this seemed ridiculous to Izuku, I mean he had no quirk, big deal! It's not like he had some incurable, contagious, disease that would kill you in a week.
'Getting off topic here'
It would've been the best solution to just drop out of school but knowing the staff at his school they would probably find a way to completely slander his name should he stop coming.
He would just have to suck it up and stay here until the school year was out then he could finally get away from this hellhole.

After a couple of days of mulling it over Izuku realized his best course of action would be to move to Akumeidakai. No heroes or police officers seemed willing to patrol that side of the city after deeming it a lost cause.
No one would find him there.
Izuku was currently scrounging around in what used to be Takobe Municipal beach park, now it was just an over glorified dump. He wasn't going to spend what little money he had left on items he could just find here. Albeit they may be a little used and broken but nothing he wouldn't be able to fix.
So far he'd managed to find 5 old remotes and even a pair of sunglasses. After retrieving a slightly rusted and cracked screw-driver Izuku carefully removed the infrared LEDs and attached it to the sunglasses.
This was a little trick he'd learned a couple of lives ago. It would help block his face from any security footage so now he was free to go where he pleased without the paranoia that someone would be able to identify him.

Izuku sprinted through the alleys and scaled the sides of the buildings familiarizing himself with the area.
His endurance was a lot lower than what he was used to so he'd have to push himself so he could pick up where he left off. He sprinted and climbed and jumped until his legs collapsed under him and he dry heaved struggling to keep what little food he had in his stomach.
After about a minute of rest Izuku forced himself up on shaky legs and clambered over a building his muscles burning in protest, Izuku ignored it.
He still wasn't fast enough, wasn't strong enough, wasn't agile enough.

So he kept going until the sun peeked up over the horizon.
