Ahoy taters welcome to chapter 3 of Crazy Blood! In this chapter we'll be covering the quirk assessment test and the battle trial!

You'll also see which member of Class 1A got One For All in this AU!

NOW onto the story!

"Just over five seconds! Just as impressive as expected, my lord!"

Izuku looked over at Mr. Aizawa questioningly. When he nodded back, Izuku sighed with relief.

"Thanks, Ibara. I wasn't sure if making myself weightless and pulling myself along with vines would really count for a 50-meter dash, but it sure is faster than running." He could still feel some lingering nausea, but he was steadily growing used to that feeling whenever he made himself weightless.

Ochaco gave him a big squeeze. "It's so great to see you using my quirk like that! It really makes me feel useful to you, sweetie."

Izuku nodded. "Yeah, if not for the both of you, this fitness test would have been really worrying. I'd end up in last place for sure."

Ibara continued to smile, but somehow it became strained. "Of course, MY quirk was what really allowed such a fast time. Without my vines to pull him along, he would only be able to shave off a second or two by making his clothes weightless, like you did."

Ochaco put on a similarly tense smile. "Oh, that's just comparing apples to oranges. There are plenty of ways I can be useful to my darling."

Izuku sighed. The two of them were willing to work together for his sake, but every so often a certain tension would rise to the surface. He hoped that it would get better with time, but with how stubborn they both were when it came to him, he wasn't certain of that at all.

Izuku shifted his attention away from the glaring contest they were having for a moment. He heard two other students whispering to each other.

"Hey, that's Kyoka Jiro, right? I heard she has some kind of weird quirk."

"Really? Isn't it just those things on her earlobes? I heard they were related to sound, or something."

"No, that's the thing. She's also super-strong. It's almost like she has two quirks, or something."

Izuku frowned and looked up. He guessed they were talking about the girl with short, dark hair who was getting ready for her turn at the 50-meter dash. Sure enough, she had long earlobes that looked like the audio jacks of earphones. He watched closely, curious to see this strange quirk of hers.

At the bell, she surged forward. Izuku's eyes widened with surprise as she finished in a fraction of the next fastest time. She'd even torn up the ground a bit with each footstep. Super-strength, indeed! It almost reminded him of…

Overcome by curiosity, he approached her tentatively.

"Uh, hi! That was pretty impressive. I'm Izuku, by the way."

She looked at him blankly. "Oh. Yeah, thanks. I'm Kyoka."

"If you don't mind me asking… How does your quirk work? I heard that it was sound-based, but it sure looked like a body enhancement quirk to me."

She cleared her throat and looked away, as though the question made her uncomfortable. "Oh, that? It's… it's just a little trick I learned. I use sound waves to increase my muscle output."

She started to walk away, but stumbled and dropped to one knee, grunting with pain.

"Woah, are you okay?"

She waved him away. "I'm fine. This trick of mine is just a little… recent. I only had a few weeks before the exam to practice it, so it's still pretty hard on my body. Man, the first time I tried it, I actually broke… nevermind. I need to sit down."

She hurried off, at least as fast as she could with her shaky legs. Izuku sighed, not satisfied with the explanation. The way she moved looked so much like-

"My lord… did you just sneak away from us to go talk to that girl?"

Izuku's heart leapt out of his chest. Ibara and Ochaco had snuck up upon him without him noticing at all.

"N-No! Or, I mean… I just wanted to ask her about her quirk, that's all."

Ochaco grabbed his arm. "A-Are you saying you want her quirk? Are you sure mine isn't enough for you? I mean, I won't stop you, but..."

Izuku shook his head vigorously. "No, no, nothing like that! I was just curious. Uh, come on, I think the next event is starting."

The rest of the fitness test went smoothly. He scored quite well in most of the other events. His crowning achievement was the ball throw, where he and Ochaco were able to score "infinity" by making the ball weightless and tossing it into the stratosphere.

But through the whole thing, he puzzled about Kyoka's quirk. Something just didn't add up. By the time the day was over, he finally decided it wasn't worth the mental effort, and resolved to set it aside for another time.

The next day made that much, much easier. It was the first "normal" day of classes, now that the fitness test was done. That meant seeing the other teachers, and there was one in particular he was giddy with excitement to meet: All Might.

And sure enough, he was everything Izuku had hoped: Cheerful, charismatic, and thoughtful of the students.

All Might was the "Hero Studies" teacher, as one would expect Japan's #1 hero to be. So he had almost immediately told them to follow him to one of UA's massive training areas, similar to the one where the entrance exam had taken place.

Even more exciting was the opportunity to finally put on their costumes. One perk of being a part of the biggest and best hero school in Japan was being able to get a custom-made superhero outfit.

Izuku couldn't help but base his costume around his idol. Naturally, he wouldn't do something as blatant as request an identical costume. Instead, he had gone for a teal jumpsuit with a hood with "ears" that greatly resembled All Might's hairstyle, and a black-and-white patterned collar to represent his signature carefree grin.

At first, Ibara and Ochaco had tried to commission identical outfits. It took a great deal of convincing, but they finally agreed to take unique costumes, but with a similar color scheme. Ibara had a somewhat simple dress that was, as she put it, "befitting a priestess," while Ochaco had a skintight bodysuit. The contrast between the two seemed very fitting.

"Alright, my young students! Yesterday you were all given a taste of how your quirks can be put into action. Today it's time for you to put them to a more practical application: combat training!"

Izuku shivered with anticipation. Thanks to Ibara's quirk, he was fairly well equipped to fight, but he'd never really had a chance to try. This might be his chance to see how well he was able to handle himself in a fight.

"Here's how things will work: You'll be randomly assigned into groups of two, at which point-"

Ibara and Ochaco immediately raised their hands, not bothering to wait to be called on before voicing their concern.

"Sir, I'm afraid I must protest! I cannot consent to a system that may separate me from my glorious lord! Hellfire and brimstone await a priestess who would abandon the one they worship!"

"And only two people per team? My sweetie has two of us to protect him, so we should both be able to be on his team! If he gets hurt because he didn't have enough protection, someone's gonna have to pay!"

All Might retained his winning smile, but Izuku knew his face well enough to notice an uncharacteristic bead of sweat.

"I… appreciate the constructive criticism, young Shiozaki and young Uraraka. But heroes must be prepared to work with partners they've never fought beside before. It would benefit all three of you to-"

"Are you claiming that there would ever be a single second where I wouldn't be by my lord's side? Preposterous!"

"Yeah! Let us both be on Izuku's team! If I fight for anybody except my sweetie, then I'm just gonna lose on purpose."

"Hah! I will take it a step further. If my lord isn't on my team, then I'll actively fight against them!"

All Might appeared very puzzled. Finally, he looked over at Izuku.

"Say, young Midoriya. I've heard… certain rumors. Is it true that these two get somewhat… violent when they're separated from you?"

Izuku felt his face flush with embarrassment.

"Y-Yeah, unfortunately. I can't control that very much."

All Might clapped his hands together decisively.

"Well then, change of plans. It'll be teams of three! The rest will be selected randomly, but Midoriya, Shiozaki, and Uraraka will be assigned together."

Suddenly, Bakugo shoved his way to the front of the group.

"Huh? The hell is that about? You gonna do whatever they ask if they whine about it? Maybe I'll fight my own team unless that damn Deku fights alone!"

All Might held up his hands appeasingly.

"Don't think that I'm just caving in to demands, young Bakugou. Young Midoriya simply has some unique circumstances related to his quirk. The training won't be significantly affected."

Another student raised their hand. Tenya Ida. Izuku had seen him a couple times before. He was straight-laced and strict as they come.

"Sir! I must also protest. Allowing Midoriya to team up with the two students he spends the most time with gives him an unfair advantage."

All Might sighed.

"That's very possible. But as I said, these are extenuating circumstances. I'm choosing the method that's the least likely to affect everyone else's training. If you find yourself up against his team, just consider it a chance to grow. Plus Ultra!"

Ida pondered this for a moment, and stepped back.

"Yes, sir!"

"Now then, unless anybody else has a concern, let's get to assigning the teams!"

Izuku gulped. Even with his yanderes at his side, he was worried about who he might have to face. At the fitness test yesterday, he'd seen some impressive quirks.

"So, for the first match, it will be Izuku Midoriya, Ibara Shiozaki, and Ochaco Uraraka against Katsuki Bakugo, Tenya Ida, and Kyoka Jiro!"

Izuku felt his heart drop into his stomach. Those three had some of the best scores from yesterday's test. Worst of all was Bakugo. He'd never had to deal with him since Ibara had become his first yandere, and he had no idea what might happen.

"Now, here are the rules! Izuku's team will play the heroes. Their goal is to locate a fake bomb inside this building. The other team will be villains who protect it. If the heroes can touch the bomb before time runs out, they win."

Izuku could feel his heart racing while the other team went inside first. His team was given a map of the building, but they didn't know where inside it the bomb was. They'd have to work fast to find it, because the battle certainly wouldn't be quick.

All Might put his hand on Izuku's shoulder.

"One thing I should remind you all of. This is only for practice. So, if I feel that anybody in here is going… too far, I'll halt the test. I trust you'll find a way to keep these ladies under control, young Midoriya."

Izuku nodded. "I think I have a plan for that."

All Might grinned and patted his shoulder. "That's what I like to hear! I look forward to seeing what you come up with."

After the other team had enough time to prepare, Izuku, Ibara, and Ochaco lined up, ready to go.

"Ready… start!"

The three of them rushed inside.

"Okay, here's the plan. Ibara and I are going to spread our vines through the whole building, searching for the bomb. We just have to touch it to win. The other team probably won't let us grab it so easily, but if we can find where they are, we can head outside and float up to the right floor with Ochaco's quirk, and then ambush them. Remember, I don't want you two to fight. I'm afraid you'll end up hurting someone and getting the match cancelled."

They both nodded.

"Of course, my lord. We would never dream of spoiling a chance for you to show everyone your divine brilliance!"

"...Right. Okay, let's get started."

Ibara and Izuku let their vines start growing and spreading. It always felt strange, being able to feel so much through the tendrils. They snaked through hallways and crawled up stairways, feeling out every inch of the building.

Suddenly, the whole place was rocked by an explosion. Izuku groaned. This wasn't good.

"Deku! I'm settling the score today! Get out here and fight me, you damn coward!"

Ochaco looked over at Ibara. "That sounds like Bakugo. He's the one you told me about, right? The one who hurt my sweetie years ago?"

Ibara nodded gravely. "And he didn't get half the punishment he deserved."

"No. No, no, no. You two are not doing what I think you're doing. We have to-"

"We'll be back in a moment, my lord. We have to take care of this, for the sake of your honor."

The two ran off in the direction of the yelling. Izuku stamped his foot with frustration. Why couldn't they ever do what he wanted them to do?

His mind rushed, trying to figure out what to do. There was very little chance that he could stop them, now that they'd gotten revenge on their mind.

That meant… the only way was to win before one of them went too far.

Izuku leapt into action. He ran back out the door and made himself weightless. Then he pulled himself along with his vines, checking the windows for signs of the other two. Finally, at the fifth floor, he lucked out. Ida, Kyoka, and the bomb were all there. Ida and Kyoka were fixated on the door, obviously, waiting to see if someone was going to burst in.

Izuku wasted no time, driving his vines through the glass to try and grab the bomb before they could react. Unfortunately, Ida reacted to the sound quickly. His Engine quirk let him rush over and grab Izuku's vines while Kyoka grabbed the bomb and moved it away from the windows.

Izuku pulled himself into the room and released his weightlessness. It would have been ideal if the ambush had worked, but he hadn't expected it to. He was going to have to do this the hard way.

Ida crossed his arms and looked at Izuku condescendingly.

"Hmph. I was frustrated when Bakugo left to fight you on his own, but it seems to have worked in our favor. Do you really intend to take on both of us alone? If you underestimate us, you won't stand a chance."

Izuku gritted his teeth. Things definitely looked bad for him, but the less they knew about how difficult his situation was, the better.

"I could say the same to you. Don't think that I have to rely on Ibara and Ochaco to fight for me."

Izuku whipped his vines forward in Ida's direction. Ida dashed out of the way, just as Izuku predicted, leaving the bomb exposed.

The vines were mere inches away before Izuku felt himself blown back. Kyoka had made a powerful shockwave by doing nothing more than punching the air in front of her. Her power was absolutely unreal!

Izuku was stunned, but not for long. He knew he'd have to keep up the pressure. He continued lashing at the both of them, keeping them at range with his long thorny vines. Thankfully, both of his opponents were primarily close-combat oriented.

Still, it wasn't getting him any closer to winning. Time was on their side, not his. He would have to change up his tactics.

Izuku made himself weightless and grabbed one of the room's support pillars, launching himself forward towards the bomb. Kyoka pulled it out of his path, of course, but he rebounded off the wall for another attempt. He tried to make his path unpredictable, using his vines to swing around pillars.

Both of his opponents watched him closely, expecting him to make another move on the bomb. But at the last moment, he changed trajectory and wrapped Ida in vines before he could react. He detached the vines from his head, a trick he'd only been able to learn recently.

One down. Now that Ida was tied up, Izuku's mobility would be a bigger advantage. But Kyoka would be the more difficult opponent.

Izuku went back to whizzing around the room in his weightless state, but he wouldn't be able to keep it up much longer. The nausea was really starting to get to him.

Izuku broke line of sight with Kyoka behind a pillar, and then doubled back to confuse her. He feinted for the bomb with his vines, letting her grab them. He pulled himself forward and over her before detaching the vines in her hands.. There was nothing between him and the bomb, now!

Izuku was so fixated on the bomb that he didn't notice the floor underneath him cracking and being pushed upward. He barely had time to react before the tip of an enormous, viney tree forced its way up through the floor in between him and the bomb. He managed to push away just in time as the force of it knocked everyone back.

Izuku rushed over to the edge of the hole that was now in the middle of the floor.

"Ibara, what happened? You didn't hurt Kacchan too bad down there, did you? Remember, if you go overboard, we can't win the challenge!"

"That bitch hasn't even touched me yet, you damn nerd! Don't underestimate me!"

"Worry not, my lord! I'll have this sinner ensnared soon. If only someone would stop getting in my way!"

"Hey, I'm the one with the best chance of beating him! He could explode his way out of your vines, but if I can touch him and increase gravity, he's finished."

Izuku groaned.

"Okay, just take it easy, all right? And be careful, with all that shaking, it's making it hard for me to fight."

The last couple words caught in his throat. For a few moments, the only sound was his beating heart. Maybe they didn't hear?

"Wait, did you get into a fight without us, sweetie? Don't worry, we'll be right up!"

Izuku yanked at his own hair in frustration. With the two of them up there with him, it would be utter chaos. He didn't have time to wait for a lucky break.

He turned to where the bomb was, but was shocked to see it missing. He looked around to find that the room was empty, save for the vines that had held Ida bound just a moment ago. Apparently, both his opponents hadn't liked the thought of facing off against Ibara and Ochaco and had decided to retreat.

Izuku wasted no time rushing out into the hallway and looking around for any signs of where they went. He sprinted through the building, starting to panic. He probably didn't have much time left.

"My lord? My lord, where are you?"

"Sweetie? Where did you go?"

Izuku shook his head and continued running. No time to regroup, and at this point he really, really wanted to finish on his own. He had been so close before...

Suddenly, he felt the ground underneath start to rumble. He barely had time to sigh with frustration before the ground fell away beneath him.

He managed to make himself weightless just before he hit the ground. It looked like a significant portion of the building had been hollowed out, leaving a massive pile of rubble.

Ibara and Ochaco rushed over to him and wrapped him into a tight group hug.

"Sweetie, I was so scared! I haven't been separated from you that long since I became yours!"

"My lord, are you unharmed? I hope you'll forgive our rash actions, but we feared you might have been cornered. We humble followers took it upon ourselves to clear away all obstacles separating us from you."

Izuku sighed. "Alright, I get it. Have you seen Ida and Jiro? More importantly, what about the bomb?"

Ibara shook her head. "We have not seen them, although we were preoccupied with our own battle."

Izuku heard the rubble behind him shift. Ida and Kyoka were groaning and dusting themselves off. Izuku didn't see the bomb. Ida took a moment to look around, and then turned to Kyoka.

"Jiro, I believe the bomb is buried somewhere under all this rubble. We should keep the enemy team preoccupied so they can't search for it until time runs out."

Izuku gritted his teeth. "We don't have much time. One of us needs to keep them busy while the other two-"

"Hey, you were the ones fighting my sweetie, right? I'm gonna grind you into dust!"

"Despair, heathens, for your judgement is at hand!"

Izuku rubbed his temples. "Alright, I guess I'm searching alone."

He started rummaging through the shattered concrete, moving large pieces with his quirks. All the while, a battle raged behind him. Progress was slow; Either of his partners would have been a tremendous help, but that just wasn't going to happen.

Things were looking grim, until he spotted something familiar poking out of the rubble. The bomb! Izuku rushed towards it, but his progress was halted as somebody burst out from under the wreckage in front of him. Bakugo.

"Not happening, you damn nerd. With your psycho girlfriends busy, you can't beat me."

Izuku balled his hands into fists.

"Kacchan… I've wanted to prove myself to you for a long time. I think you're amazing, and I want to beat you with my own power. No interference, no help. Just the two of us."

Bakugo grinned menacingly.

"Then come and try it."

"I would, but… I have a long way to go before I've caught up to you. And there's no time. I'm sorry about this." He turned towards the other fight and shouted as loud as he could: "Help, help, I'm under attack!"

"Oh, you've got to be-"

He wasn't even able to finish his sentence before Ibara had lashed him up in her vines and yanked him towards her. Izuku would have to hurry, now that Bakugo had been caught, it wouldn't take long for both the yanderes to get violent enough to have the match cancelled.

Izuku reached a vine forward and touched the bomb. Immediately, All Might's voice boomed from outside.

"The match is over, Team A wins!"

Izuku pumped his fist, but realized that Ibara and Ochaco weren't… finished with Bakugo yet. He rushed over to help All Might, who was already trying to get Bakugo away to safety.

The two yanderes had been chaotic and troublesome the whole match… and yet, Izuku wondered if he would have been able to pull it off otherwise. It wasn't easy having them always obsessing over him, but it was the hand he'd been dealt. For today, he felt satisfied that, this time, it was as much his victory as it was theirs, and he rejoined them to celebrate the victory.
