A galaxy divided! Striking swiftly after
the Battle of Waspnosia, Dimitri's
badnik army has seized control of the major
hyperspace lanes, separating the Republic
from the majority of its clone army. With
few clones available, the Shinobi generals
cannot gain a foothold on the Outer Zones
as more and more planets choose to join
Dimitri's Separatists. While the Shinobi are
occupied fighting a war, no one is left to
keep the peace. Chaos and crime spread,
and the innocent become victims in a
lawless galaxy. Crime lord Jun Kun's
son has been kidnapped by a rival
band of pirates. Desperate to save his son,
Jun puts out a call for help—a call
the Shinobi are cautious to answer…
In Chancellor Solaris' office he and Shinobi masters, Merlin Prower, Rob o' the Hedge and Elizabeth the Duck were listening to a hologram of Jun Kun. "I ask anyone who can help find my son to send information they have to me immediately" he said before cutting off. Solaris seemed happy upon hearing this "We must help Jun. This is the opportunity we've been looking for. The shinobi must rescue his son". Merlin seemed troubled "I don't like it, dealing with that criminal scum. This is a dark day for the Republic". Solaris nodded "I agree, my friend, but what choice do we have? The Iron Dominion control the Outer Zones and we'll need their space lanes in order to move our troops". "There is more to this kidnapping than it seems" Merlin said as they all walked to the exit. "Then you must send as many Shinobi as you can" "Impossible Chancellor. The cyborg General Dark Oak has our forces spread too thin. The only Shinobi we can spare are Shadow and Espio. They've just captured the planet Spagonia". Solaris turned to him "Then contact them immediately".
On a Republic cruiser Admiral Gerald walks up to a holo-unit which projects a hologram of Blaze and Merlin. "We need to make contact with General Espio" Merlin said. "I'm sorry, General. We've been unable to reach him. It could be a solar storm, or they're rebooting their Communication system. I'm sure the blackout is temporary". Blaze nodded "We are sending a messenger with important orders for General Espio. See to it that she gets there as fast as possible". "Yes, ma'am. As soon as we load relief supplies", Merlin shook his head "There's no time. The messenger must be sent immediately". Gerald nodded "I understand, sir. I will personally take an unloaded ship to drop her off, then return to pick up my reinforcements".
On the streets of Spagonia Shadow watched the advancing badnik army "There back!", Espio ran up next to him "I told you this was too easy. We never should have sent the ship back for supplies". Shadow ignored him and turned to Fang "Fang, you and your men follow me", Espio turned to Armand "Battle positions!". The front line of the badniks were made up of Omegas. The Republic cannons were able to thin them out, but they were still getting too close. Armand's men took cover behind debris and fired at the advancing Omegas and are able to just hold them back, but the clones begin to get picked off. Espio gives Armand cover with his lightsaber as they both see a large spider robot behind the Omegas. It walks past a building that Shadow, Fang and other clones are waiting on the roof of "What's our plan of attack, sir?", Shadow smiled "Follow me". He jumps off the roof onto the head of the spider, the clones using jetpacks jump down to the ground and begin shooting the underside of it. Espio sees this and turns to his men "Come on!" he charges into the army followed by the clones. They begin mowing down the army as Shadow cuts open the spider he is standing on before jumping to another and doing the same thing again. He jumps down to the ground and cuts down a badnik that was behind Espio. They're all able to advance further down the street before taking cover again "We're gonna need reinforcements!" Shadow said. "We haven't been able to get through to the Admiral". They see beetle tanks approaching but the cannons are able to hold them back. The tanks all suddenly stop and out of one of them pops out a walrus, General Tundra. He took out a commlink to talk to the lead badnik "Why are we stopping?" "We cannot get past their cannons, sir". Tundra looked angry "Cannons? This will never do. We must pull back and set up our deflector shield". He got back in his tank and it as well as the rest of the army retreated.
Before our heroes could celebrate, they saw a Republic shuttle fly overhead, Espio turns to Shadow "Looks like help has arrived". They headed back towards the checkpoint where the shuttle begins to land, as they walked towards it Emerl the Gizoid started walking next to them. "Our cruiser must be back" Espio said which made Shadow smile "Which means we'll be able to get our reinforcements" "Then it looks like our problems are solved. Fresh troops, new supplies and perhaps they brought my new apprentice with them". Shadow raised his eyebrow "You really think it's a good idea to bring a learner into all this?" "I spoke to Master Blaze about it. You should put in a request for one. You'd make a good teacher". Shadow shook his head "No, thanks" "Shadow, teaching is a privilege. And it is our responsibility to help train the next generation". They stopped in front of the shuttle "An apprentice would just slow me down". The shuttle doors opened revealing a young pink hedgehog wearing a green shirt and yellow skirt. She walks towards them, Shadow looks confused "A youngling. Who are you supposed to be?" "I'm Amy. Amy Rose. Master Blaze sent me. I was told to tell you both that you must get back to the Shinobi Temple immediately. There's an emergency". Shadow rolled his eyes "Well, I don't know if you've noticed, but we're in a bit of an emergency right here" Espio nodded in agreement "Yes, our communications have been a bit unreliable, but we've been calling for help". "Master Blaze hadn't heard from you, so she sent me to deliver the message". Shadow sighed and turned away "Oh, great. They don't even know we're in trouble" "Maybe you can rely a signal through the cruiser that just dropped me off". Espio and Shadow looked at each other, both agreeing with the idea.
Gerald was leading his ships in a battle with Separatist ships "We need to go back and pick up our reinforcements. We've got to get out of here!". A tiger clone officer was at the holo-unit talking to Shadow and the others "We're under attack by Separatist warships, but I'll try to make contact with the Shinobi Temple for you. Stand by".
