He quickly helped Solar Kit to his paws.
"RUN!" He yelled, grabbing his brother's scruff and running with him. Sure, Devil Kit was the little brother, but he was the bigger, stronger kit in the litter. Devil Kit's paws ached as he ran after his mother, kicking up dirt with each leap. The dog caught up to them quickly, Bronze Fur making a run into the mountains. Her kits swiftly climbed up with her, taunting the dog when it couldn't climb any further.
"Haha! You won't eat m- my mother and brother today! Not on m- my watch!" Devil Kit laughed, Solar kit letting out a small laugh.
"There seems to be a clan nearby…" His mother observed, sniffing the air.
"There's- Ivy… Everywhere…" She spoke to herself. They continued to climb, Devil Kit raised his nose to the air.
"More ivy," he told his mother. Bronze Fur thought for a moment.
"Ivy… Ivy… Ivy clan!" She said, finally knowing why there was Ivy everywhere. Ivy gave you grip, grip to be able to climb!
"Wow!" Devil Kit said, continuing to climb as cats came into view. They immediately spotted him, running to the tiger-striped kit.
"Are you lost, little one?" A grey tabby cat said, nudging Devil Claw.
"No, not at all," he replied, calling for his mom. The other two hauled themselves up the mountain, smiling warmly.
"Why, you're all wet! Let's get you dry," the tabby offered, turning towards their medicine den as she kept talking.
"Hi! I'm Evie Heart, and I love helping people!" She said.
"Very nice!" Said Bronze Fur. Evie Heart quickly turned around.
"Kits, you can go play with some other cats if you'd like!" The tabby said, jestering her paw towards a group of playing kits. As the brothers trotted over, the two she's' walking into the medicine den. Evie Heart grabbed some warm moss that was laying in front of a nice warm fire.
"So, how long do you plan on staying? Were you lost? Did you escape?!" She asked, so interested in how the family got here.
"We… Well-... Yes, we escaped," Bronze Fur said as Evie's eyes lit up.
"Really!? Wow! I have to tell the leader to make you our clan cats, I just have to!" The grey cat let on.
"Well, I don't know if that's such a good idea," objected Bronze Fur.
"We're kind of Windclan cats," She added.
"So? Who said that ever mattered? C'mon, lay down on this moss while I go get Bright Star!" She insisted, cantering out of the den. Bronze Fur laid in the moss, relaxing her entire body as she let out a sigh. Maybe they would have a home, a home that wouldn't judge them. Suddenly, the tabby and another bright yellow cat walked in.
"I see you guys are lost, huh?" The unknown cat mewed with a purr mixing into the sentence.
"Not lost, we just- We meant to come here," Bronze Fur lied.
"Well, do you guys want to stay in the clan? Or is Mrs. Perfect over here forcing you?" The leader gestured his head over to the other molly cat.
"We do want to stay, I promise you, she is not forcing us at all," Bronze Fur said. She thought about the times they had together with Windclan and the things the medicine cat had said.
"Very well, you shall stay. The next clan meeting, we shall give you your clan names." Said the leader, padding out of the den.
No matter what she did, she could not get the medicine cat's words out of her head. She murmured them over and over until she had gotten a horrible headache.
"Though your kit is small, they shall be of Starclan special, able to see what others cannot…" She repeated louder. Bronze Fur heard the sounds of her kits playing in the camp. It relieved her to hear a few other kits, thankful they were accepting Devil Kit and Solar Kit. For some reason, when the playing got louder, she got nervous. A feeling of guilt. What would she be guilty for? It's not like keeping the words from her kit could be anything bad! It was for his own good… Right?...
