Static sat up abruptly in his bed at the sound of his phone ringing from across the room. He forced a few quick blinks before looking towards his alarm clock and seeing it was nearly 7:00 PM. The squirrel realized he must have dozed off before jumping off his bed and retrieving his cell phone from the carpet near his bedroom door. After a quick glance he noticed he didn't recognize the number calling him but decided he'd risk answering just in case…

"Static, here." He greeted.

"Hey Static. This is Sandy. We talked briefly this morning at The Weathered Kettle. I hope me calling right now ain't an inconvenience." Her feminine voice almost seemed a little less upbeat than it had been earlier.

A large smile overtook Static face as she had called him, and so soon. "Sandy!" He tried to keep the enthusiasm in his voice in check as he didn't want her to know just how taken for her he was already. He had to play things cool. The man knew she had to be the one to break first, so he could keep his masculinity intact. "I wasn't expecting to here from you so soon, so this is a nice surprise. How's your job going?"

"I wasn't planning on calling ya so soon neither, but I… well, this job I'm on don't really don't have no time deadline, and I could really use a break. I was wondering if ya were free tomorrow? I was hoping on taking ya up on that tour of da city." She sighed somewhat nervously after her proposition.

"BINGO!" He thought to himself. "Tomorrow, huh?" He acted as if he wasn't sure to keep the female on her toes. "Hmmmm. I guess I can move a few things around for a pretty lady like yourself. How about I pick you up at noon and we start with some lunch near Jackson Park? Then we could take a stroll and see where the rest of the day leads us."

"That sounds great! Isn't the Museum of Science and Industry over there too? I'd love ta take a look around that place!" Her voice was now beaming the same enthusiasm and cheer it had held earlier.

"Great. It's a date then! I'll just need the address of your hotel so I can pick you up." Static reached for a pen and notepad from on his nightstand.

"Actually, Uh, can we just meet at the coffee shop again? I just think it'll be easier that way." The female on the other end of the line requested.

"So, she wants to play a little hard to get after all." He thought to himself. "Game on." He smirked. "Of course, doll! I'll see you at noon then."

"Alright. Thank ya Static! Have a nice night!" She happily said her goodbye and hung up not even giving him a chance to respond.

After he verified the call had ended Static quickly saved her number to his phone. He ran to his closest and started going through his clothing. He didn't have room for error tomorrow. He needed to make sure everything was perfect and that started with the correct outfit, and was followed up with his classic muscle car. She was from the south so he was quite confidant she'd appreciate his wheels unlike so many other ignorant women he'd dealt with in the past. The outfit on the other hand… well the male squirrel knew very well he could dress in a tattered tee shirt and jeans and still break every girl's heart in the room, but he was never one to be a lazy dresser and this woman… well she was special. He didn't fully understand why she had caught his attention, and held it so dominantly, but he was going to go the extra mile for her regardless of his lack of understand of this current infatuation.

"Ah ha!" He called out as he pulled a light green long sleeved button up shirt out of the closest with a light brown pair of slacks. He'd pull back the sleeves of the shirt back from his elbow and wear his silver Rolex. Any one of his many pairs of black dress shoes would do and a light black sports jacket. The look was complete with just with the right amount of bling. The sports jacket was the real key to the look. It gave off the sense that he was a down to earth guy, as it was one of the cheaper piece items of clothing, he'd be wearing despite the fact he paid 250 dollars for it.

He found it hard to get back to sleep after the phone conversation with Sandy. He tossed and turned only to get up and try to get things ready for the day out with her the coming day. He ended up cleaning up his 1970 Dodge Challenger more than three times despite the fact it was pretty much already spotless. He even gave the purple exterior a light rub down just to pass the time and try to tire himself out. By the time 2:00 AM rolled around he finally found himself feeling sleepy again and dropped half naked into his bed. Luckily, he quickly found sleep, but too his dismay he awoke at 10:20 AM as he had forgotten to set his alarm.

"Shit!" He screamed at himself as he jumped up and rushed to the shower. He kept cursing at himself as he only had just over an hour to prepare himself for his date with Sandy. He likely wouldn't need even a full hour but still hated to feel rushed, especially considering how important this outing was to him.
