"Oh, cute. Our last try-out of the day," Bonnie smirked at Kim as she stood with other members of the soccer team who seemed to be like the other cheerleaders in the other universe's Kim. "Okay, Kimber-lumps, it's simple. Kick this ball into that goal."

Kim looked firm as she kicked over the ball bravely.

"Oh, and if you don't too terribly mind, my squad and I here will do everything in our power to try and stop you." Bonnie smirked as she stopped the ball before she took out her whistle and blew it to start a practice game.

Kim just smirked as the other soccer players spread across the field to take their positions. The others cheered in the bleachers to help support Kim with Ron.

And so the game was on: Kim was giving her maximum effort, making her way past the others who tried to snag the ball or block her path, save for Bonnie, who was the goalie. "Oh, no, Kimmy," she remarked. "You're not getting by me..."

"Come on, Kim, you can do it!" Jenny called out.

Finally, Kim kicked the ball, which bounced right off Bonnie, and Kim finished it with a spin-kick right into the goal.

"Oh, yeah!" Jenny beamed. "Hey, maybe I should try-out for the team too."

"I never knew you were such a soccer fan, Jenny." Raul remarked.

"There's a lot you don't know about me, cous." Jenny replied.

"Not denying that," Raúl shrugged.

"You got it, KP! Whoo!" Ron cheered. "...Yeah."

Bonnie scoffed. "Okay... From the bottom of my very deep heart, Kim... That was...amazing." she said.

Kim grinned at that.

"So... Congratulations to our newest... Equipment manager!" Bonnie smiled and clapped mockingly as two other soccer players brought out a tub of equipment and plopped it down in front of Kim.

The others glared a bit from that as that felt a bit cruel from Bonnie.

"Equipment manager?" Kim repeated with dismay.

"Oh, I take just a hint of starch." Bonnie soon said.

"Equipment manager?" Kim repeated. "Bonnie, you just told me I was amazing."

"Ah, you totally are, Kiki-Peeps, but, you're also a freshman." Bonnie smiled slyly.

"So?" Kim asked, wondering why that would matter.

"Did I forget to tell you?" Bonnie pouted innocently. "Oh, so sorry. Freshman can't be on the team. Oh, and use a non-chlorine bleach. Obvi."

"Man... That blows," remarked LJ. "She got totally cheated."

Bonnie soon walked off with the rest of the soccer team.

"Wait, where am I taking this?!" Kim called out.

Wade soon buzzed in to help her out. "The equipment room is on-" he began to tell her.

"The opposite side of the school." Kim guessed.

Wade nodded as that was true.

"No sense in standing around..." LJ sighed. "Better get moving."

Kim grunted as she lifted the container and carried it off. "Ugh, these clothes reek..." she grumbled.

"I'm sure school will get better," Elyse said. "The first day in a new place is always rough."

"Yeah, I guess." Kim sighed from that.

"Hopefully so," LJ added.

"You've only been here one day, and you're already makin' a difference," said Ron. "Your arms are gonna be jacked by the end of the year! Which will be great for when you get on the soccer team and can't use 'em!"

Kim snickered. "Thanks, Ron; you always know what to say... Sort of." she replied.

"True, true friends." Kimberly remarked.

"Sticking together thru thick and thin!" LJ added.

Kim gave a small smile from their support as well, though she sighed. "Regardless, I've had the absolute worst first day of school that any human could have."

"I think Greg Heffley would disagree with you on that." Jenny remarked.

"Yeah, or Nikki Maxwell." Martin added.

"Or maybe Jamie Kelly." Raul replied.

"The point is, you're not the only one who's had the worst first day," LJ replied. "Also, Rafe Khatchadorian."

"Is that the Middle School: The Worst Years of my Life kid?" Elyse asked.

LJ nodded.

"But either way, you had a bad day, but it could always be worse." Elyse told Kim with support.

"True." Martin replied.

"You're all good friends." Kim approved.

"Yeah, you should've seen my first day at Wayside School." Elyse shuddered.

"That... Was awful." LJ shivered.

"Wayside, huh?" Kim asked.

"Trust me, Kim," Elyse cautioned. "That place is for mental patients in training."

LJ nodded rapidly at that. They hoped that the rest of the school year would slowly, but surely get better. They soon heard someone crying who seemed to have a worse first day of school than Kim.

"Or maybe not." Ron said from Kim's experience as the worst first day of school for any human being.

"It was awful, Mom," A girl sniffled as she sat in a corner with a backpack that was ripped up and had papers scattered around the ground next to her. "I didn't make any friends, and I just tripped and dumped my backpack everywhere, and everyone laughed," she said as she seemed to be talking on her phone. "I know. Love you, too."

"Whoof... This kid sounds like she had it even rougher than you did!" LJ remarked.

"I think I know what I have to do." Kim said.

"Yeah?" Kimberly asked.

"Time to lend a helping hand," Kim replied as she cartwheeled out towards the girl, picking up the scattered paper on the way, then somersaulted while holding the bag and zipping it up for the new girl. "I believe this is yours? I'm Kim."

The girl looked amazed and grateful for the help and the feat. "I know."

"So you've heard of her, right?" LJ asked. "That's the second indication of that we've gotten in this universe."

"Uh... Universe...?" The girl asked.

"It's a long story." Elyse replied sheepishly.

"Hmm... I see..." The girl remarked. "I-I feel incredible though... I just met Kim Possible!"

"Yep... Feels great." Raul agreed.

Kim smiled as she helped the girl out.

"Well, it's after school and that means time to hang out." Elyse advised.

"So... I guess you could come with us!" Jenny added.

"All right!" The girl beamed to them. "That sounds like a lot of fun."

"Okay then!" Martin replied it out.

They soon went to go to Bueno Nacho to hang out with the girl who seemed quite friendly.

"So, this is Bueno Nacho..." Jenny remarked. "Looks nice."

"Yeah, I guess I could hang here a bit." Raul added, agreeing with his cousin.

"Oh, Bueno Nacho. Love it." The new girl beamed.

"Yup. It's Ron's casa away from casa," Kim smiled at her before hitting her forehead a bit sheepishly. "I'm sorry, I didn't even ask you what your name was. You didn't go to Middleton Middle School, right?"

"No, I just moved here this summer," The new girl replied. "I'm Athena."

"Ah, Athena," Ron replied as he came by with their drinks. "As in the goddess of... I wanna say dentistry?"

"Wisdom." Elyse told him.

"That was my second guess..." Ron replied.

Kim and Athena giggled a bit from that.

"Well, you've made a wise choice today, Athena," Ron smiled as he showed his favorite dish from his favorite place. "Behold, nature's perfect food: The Naco. Taco meets nachos in a fusion of cheesy glory," he then took out the other food as they didn't share his tastes in food. "But, of course, you guys ordered the-"

"Cha-cha Chimmurito no sour cream." Kim and Athena replied at the same time as they shared that in common.

"What are the odds?" Athena smiled at the redheaded girl from that.

"At least one in infinity," shrugged LJ. "But at least some things are still the same."

"Hey, let me see that phone for a hot sec?" Kim asked Athena as she played on her phone a bit.

"Oh, uh... Yeah." Athena replied as she lent over her phone.

"All right. Get in close," Kim smiled as she held out the phone to take a group selfie with all of them. "Ready? Okay."

CLICK! The picture was taken.

"Yes, that's perfect." Jenny approved.

"Thank you! Thank you for that, um." Athena gushed.

"Seriously, just ask," Kim smiled. "We're the least selfie-adverse people on the planet."

"Mm-hmm." Ron nodded in agreement with that.

"I have followed all of your adventures for, like, ever," Athena beamed before she showed a picture of herself dressed like Kim with a dog dressed like Ron with its own blonde wig. "I even cosplayed as you at Comic-Con last year. Look at this."

"Huh... Now that's dedication." remarked Martin.

"That's amazing!" Kim smiled. "And that hair."

"No, it's weak, but I'm working on a better one." Athena said bashfully.

"What's up with the incredibly handsome pooch?" Ron asked curiously.

"Oh, that's Ron Stop-Pitbull, of course," Athena smiled bashfully. "I didn't really have any, uh, friends to go with me."

"Clever wordplay..." LJ commended. "Also, that's rough."

"I don't know if you know this about me, but when I grow up, I want to be a dog," Ron said to the new girl. "My parents tell me it's not a realistic goal, but thanks to you, I'm one step closer."

The others sweat-dropped from that.

"I take back what I told Ambrose," Elyse muttered. "Suddenly wanting to marry Melissa Joan Hart doesn't sound too crazy."

"Is he still crushing on that actress?" Raul asked.

"Yeah, he sent her a fan letter the other day," Elyse replied. "I'm hoping when she sends an autographed picture for him, it hits him of how much she looks like Sabrina."

"Sometimes love is blind..." LJ shrugged. "Then again, wanting to grow up to be a dog isn't exactly attainable unless you were born as one..."

"Ron?" Athena spoke up. "Be the dog you want to see in the world."

"Thank you," Ron smiled from that advice. "And, woof."

"...Here's hoping he grows out of it," Martin muttered. "Especially since his father happens to be allergic to animal fur."

"Woof, woof, woof!" Athena beamed.

The friends shared a laugh from that even though it seemed odd to the other kids.

Later that night, the group met up together in the guest room as Elyse brought out her junior spellbook.

"Coraline?" The Mazinsky twins guessed.

"No, junior spellbook," Elyse replied. "I should keep up with my magic whenever I can in case Graunt Zelda decides to surprise me."

"Smart thinking," LJ commended her. "I guess the Eds could really use some magic to help them out on their journey at this point."

"Wouldn't surprise me," Elyse shrugged. "Life is pretty crazy like that."

"Guess it's better than Eddy trying to hit on Mom." Jenny shuddered.

"Your mom's pretty good-looking," Elyse chuckled. "Reminds me of when Graunt Zelda was a teenager and dyed her hair red."

"Heh... Sounds interesting," remarked LJ. "Like that period of time when Enchantra spoke in a weird British accent that made her sound vaguely like Madonna."

"I feel like she loosened up after she had to look after Cassandra after Witch Academy graduation." Elyse replied as she continued to study her spellbook.

"So, what did you guys think of Athena?" Jenny asked.

"She seemed cool." Elyse shrugged.

"I think she's nice." Kimberly agreed.

"She's a good egg, if a bit overly enthusiastic." Martin added.

"Makes me think of what Dreama will be like." Elyse said.

"Dreama?" The others asked curiously.

"A new student coming into Charm School with me and Ambrose," Elyse replied. "Rumor has it that she's the niece of Sabrina's old Quizmaster."

"I guess everyone has their hands full," replied LJ. "The Eds are busy trying to train Dave how to be a real barbarian warrior... Zo and David are doing who-knows-what... Ambrose has Charm School... Whoof."

"Tell me about it." Elyse replied.

"When do we sleep?" Raul asked.

"Sleep is for the weak!" Elyse quoted like a heroic quote.

"Then the weak are far more prepared for battle..." LJ grunted. "I'm glad I don't go to Charm School..."

"Shh!" Elyse whispered. "Don't give the tempted fate any ideas!"

"Oh! Right." LJ replied. "My bad..."

"Okay, okay, I'll get some sleep," Elyse said. "I'm on break from Charm School anyway to hang out with you guys. At least it's more consistent than when Sabrina went to school. It was usually before, during, or after school, so it was a little confusing. No wonder my dad slept in his Mortal Classes all the time."

Everyone agreed on that as they went to sleep for the night. They all gave a collective good night greeting to each other as they hoped tomorrow would be a better day for Kim after a tough first day, but at least they made a new friend.

And so, the night passed peacefully, giving way to the following morning. They quickly got up out of bed and dashed off to get some breakfast to make it to school on time, hoping Kim and Ron would be as lucky.

"Okay, so yesterday was a bust, but today will be better for ya." Raul told Kim with support.

They passed by the sign before coming back as it seemed to be a visual gag. "Procrastination Club: Meeting Postponed".

"That's genius." Jenny smirked.

The group chuckled at that as they came inside the school.

"For those of you who don't know how to tell time, I strongly urge you to learn." Mr. Barkin told the students in his classroom.

Kim, Ron, and the others soon rushed in as they were late.

"The tardy party continues." Mr. Barkin glared as he seemed to rival Mr. Kraft with school rules.

"I'm so sorry, Mr-" Kim spoke up.

"Sorry doesn't cut it, young lady," Mr. Barkin cut her off. "I'm giving you all detention."

LJ face-palmed. "Well... That's just Prime." he muttered angrily.

"I can explain, Mr. B," Athena spoke up as she appeared as if on cue. "We've actually been volunteering at the cat shelter."

"That's no excu-I'm sorry, the what?" Mr. Barkin glared until he realized what she just said.

"Yeah, the cat shelter," Athena continued from his reply. "For all the homeless cats out there."

As she spoke, Mr. Barkin looked like he was very close to crying.

"The ones from the streets," Athena told him, trying to sound emotional. "They're very protein-deficient and have a very low carb diet."

"So sad... Just give me..." Mr. Barkin replied, trying to pull himself together as he got over his brief sadness. "Okay! Well, I suppose I could let it pass for meow. I mean, now! Now. Sit."

The group blinked in surprise, but they sat anyway.

"Athena just pulled our butts outta the fire!" LJ whispered. "That was... Clever."

And so, classes came and went. It was now after school, so Athena came over as they all did homework in Kim's room together.

"Darn, I think I left my lip balm at home." Athena pouted as she looked through her backpack.

"Oh, I'm sure I have a spare." Kim said as she pressed a button on her current necklace.

This made the wall move to show a display wall with outfits and gadgets for missions.

"Wow, so many grappling hooks..." Athena whispered in awestruck.

"Saving the world requires a surprising amount of grappling." Kim chuckled a bit.

"A-yep." Jenny nodded.

"Strange but true." Raul agreed.

"Hey, why don't you wear this on missions anymore?" Athena asked as she spotted an outfit that was a black short-sleeved top with gray gloves, green cargo pants, black shoes, and a brown belt. "It used to be your thing."

"I don't know, I guess wearing the same thing all the time kind of felt cartoony, after a bit." Kim shrugged a bit.

The others shared a look with each other from that.

"Now, which shade would look the best on you?" Kim pondered as she looked at her lip balm collection.

"And here's where I tune out." LJ shrugged as he walked out of the room.

"Sorry, LJ, but this seems to be just for girls." Kimberly said.

"Wait up." Raul told LJ as he walked out with Martin.

"Arrivederci, ladies!" Martin added as they both exited.

Athena took some lip balm before yelping as a laser came out.

"...Does that usually happen?" Raul asked.

"Uh, no... At least not with Mom's make-up." Jenny replied.

"Right..." Raul replied as he quickly exited.

"Girl stuff, huh?" Jim and Tim asked.

"Yep." Martin replied.

"I never got girls..." Jim rolled his eyes.

"Yeah... Though Jenny's pretty..." Tim smiled like he had a little crush. "I'm gonna watch her until it's so awkward, she'll have to talk to me."

"Tim? Buddy? Snap out of it!" Jim cried out as he shook his twin brother who had hearts in his eyes. "NOOOO! I lost him! TIM! COME BACK!"

Martin gave a wry chuckle as he walked off.

"Hmm... What should we guys do to pass the time?" Raul asked.

"Guess we could watch cartoons," said LJ as he took out his laptop. "They finally put up Beast Wars on Tubi TV."

"Sounds good to me." Martin said as they sat down together.

"Yeah! No girls allowed! ...Unless they're eligible." Raul smirked.

"You're starting to sound like that one Casagrande kid, cous." Martin warned him.

Raúl rolled his eyes.

"That Athena girl almost reminds me of Felicity's friend Dizzy." LJ said as he set up the episodes to marathon while the girls would have their own time together.

"Really?" asked Martin. "How do you figure?"

"I guess it's how squirrely she is," LJ replied. "She seems nice and helpful enough though, like when we all almost got detention."

"True," Raúl nodded. "And I guess she's kinda cute, in a way."

"Here we go." LJ smirked, both from that response and as the Beast Wars marathon began.

Raúl blushed. "What's that supposed to mean? I just said she's kinda cute in a way!"

"Oh, nothing, buddy," LJ chuckled innocently. "Let's just watch some good 'ol toons."

Raul chuffed lightly, but turned his attention to the screen to join in watching the show.

"I wish I could transform sometimes..." Martin said with a small battle stance. "That'd be pretty cool."

"Same here." LJ nodded.

"Maybe someday," Raul replied. "I feel like nothing's surprising anymore in the world of adventures."

"I guess you have a point," said LJ. "That would definitely liven things up."

They soon heard some music from the other room.

"Probably dancing." Raul guessed.

"Yeah, girls sure do like to dance." LJ chuckled a bit.

"...You ever dance with Kimberly?" asked Martin.

LJ blushed. "...Not yet. She hasn't really asked me to."

"She still likes you though, right?" Raul asked.

"Oh, of course," LJ replied. "Especially if it's just me and her than with Chrissy, especially that time with those Fluppy Dogs."

"That must've been hectic," Raúl replied. "Especially with Ivy de Vil and her son Hunter bugging you two in your mission."

"Hunter de Vil..." LJ rolled his eyes.

"I'm glad you got to have some one-on-one time with Kimberly though." Martin smiled.

"Yeah, that was pretty sweet." LJ smiled back.

"I can imagine..." Raúl nodded. "Hey, who's that spider-lady?"

"Her? That's Blackarachnia," replied LJ. "She's the femme fatale of the Predacons."

"She looks pretty creepy and cool at the same time." Raul remarked.

"Yep," LJ replied. "Thanks in no small part to the influence of Tarantulas, the Predacons' mad scientist."

"Good to know." Raul shrugged as they kept watching.

"Makes me think of that spider lady from the old Space Ghost series before he got a talk show." Martin added.

LJ squinted. "A little, but not by much," he replied. "I guess I'm a lot like Silverbolt, though... With a little of Cheetor."

The other boys chuckled a bit from that.

Eventually, Athena had to go back home. Raul offered to walk her home, but she insisted on going by herself.

"You like this one?" Jenny asked her cousin.

"She's pretty cool," Raul smiled bashfully. "Pretty sweet and adorkable. I learned that word from LJ's mom."

"Yep. I think we can genuinely say she's a great friend." Kimberly replied.

"I sense a bright future between Kim, Ron, and Athena." Elyse remarked.

"Sounds good to me," Martin smiled. "So, you guys think we oughta check out Kim at the soccer field tomorrow?"

"Probably a good idea," Elyse replied. "For support of course."

Everyone agreed to that as they went inside to prepare for dinner.

"Hmm... I'd give for one of my dad's sandwiches..." Elyse said.

"How's that food truck going for him by the way?" LJ smiled.

"Oh, he loves it," Elyse smiled back. "Especially at big outdoor events like concerts. I've never seen him so happy."

"It is nice seein' him so cheerful..." Martin replied.

"'You name it, I'll make it'!" Elyse quoted with a fond laugh.

The others smiled as Elyse looked a lot happier than the first time they had met her back when she went to school at Wayside. In short, it had been a particularly long day, and tomorrow would be even more interesting.
