Chapter 3: Connections

"I have a date with my husband," Jun bowed continuously to Daisuke.

"No, it's alright." Daisuke waved his hands and when Jun stopped apologizing, "It's good to see you."

Jun stared shocked, her eyes softening before walking back to her car. "I will see you later. Hopefully."

Daisuke smiled softly, "definitely," he said which made Jun smile much wider. She gave one last wave before entering her car. Driving off as light snow began to fall from the sky. Daisuke looked up and saw the tiny snowflake appear from the cloudy sky.

Kanao spoke, "Daisuke-san, honey, come inside. I prepped dinner."

Daisuke turned, "mom, I'm just going to take a stroll around town, is that alright?"

Kanao blinked and nodded, "yes, just come back safely."

Daisuke nodded happily, "I will!" And as his mother waved and returned into the house. He took a deep breath and began to walk down the sidewalk. Seeing cars pass by little at a time. People come home from work, but he continued. Crossing the street until he was at a small market place. Steam all around with people making hot looked around happily, such a place once boring to him is now lovely.

People of all walks of life exiting each shop happy from being full. It was so quiet too.

Daisuke continued to walk until he found himself facing a large billboard. It showed different ads, somethings familiar, but a lot of new. He was surprised when he saw an ad to a new technology made by Digital Corp Industries. "That's what they are doing right now, huh?"

And once the ads looped, he continued to walk as he found himself staring at the distant cars in the center of town. All flowing so naturally. The sound of cars in the air, but the sound of people too. All so calming now to Daisuke.

As the skies darkened, Daisuke was completely enjoying his stroll.

Taking a deep breath and turning around, he was surprised with something. The skies began to clear and he found himself staring at 6 stars. So familiar to a point of his past. And two stars twinkling made him look closely.

Daisuke's train of thought was lost when he heard an engine stutter. He looked over and saw a family trying to see what was wrong with their car.

"It's freezing, maybe we should get a taxi."

"But we have all the groceries for the week!" The father said as he sighed in disappointment.

Daisuke wondered a bit before heading to them, "excuse me, I think I can fix the car if I can check it out."

The father looked confused, "the engine is probably messed up, it might need to be towed."

Daisuke blushed, "if I can take a look…"

The father put his hands on his hips. "Sure thing." He said in a way where he knew was pointless, but still wanted to give it a try.

Daisuke passed by the mother with a proper bow before heading to the hood of the car. Opening it and placing the support to keep it from falling. Taking a quick look, he reached and closed his eyes. His body only moving slightly.

"What are you doing?" The father questioned.

Daisuke moved his hand away, having some dirt on it. "Should turn on now…"

The father raised a brow as Daisuke smiled happily. He turned to his daughter who was in the driver seat at the moment. He nodded as she began to turn on the engine. Not a single clink or clank, the engine just turned on completely.

"What!?" Both parents and even the daughter yelled out before covering their mouths.

Daisuke took a napkin he had in his new jacket pocket and cleaned his hand. "How did you fix it!?" He was surprised by the question by the father.

"I just moved around some wiring, nothing much," Daisuke chuckled nervously now.

The daughter stepped out. A short girl with short black hair, but her outfit indicated she was from high school. One Daisuke recognized immediately, it was the one he went to. "Well thank you sir, I can't believe you fixed it… it was supposed to cost a fortune to fix it like this…"

Daisuke blushed, "it wasn't much, but I'm glad you can now make it home safe."

The father nodded and bowed lightly.

Daisuke turned and waved his hand, the family waved back. He began to walk back home.

"Such a good young man," the mother said as the father closed the hood. Both parents entered the car and were in awe.

"Maybe I should hire that man as my mechanic if this car keeps messing up." The father laughed as he began to drive. "Honey, are you alright?" The daughter looked out the window where Daisuke was walking off. "Hina-san?"

"Oh sorry, that guy kind of looked familiar. I don't know where I saw him…" Hina said while taking out her cell. "I"m gonna call Iori-san, I haven't replied to any of his calls since we got stuck."

The father groaned, "why do you always call your boyfriend?"

"Dad," Hina groaned back.

Continuing with Daisuke walking back to his parent's home. He took a deep sigh, "I shouldn't have done that so openly…" he looked up to find the six stars that caught his attention. "Not there anymore?" And he continued on, crossing the road.

Odaiba Highschool.

Iori was sipping some juice, his hair a bit spiky now. "So some guy just repaid your dad's car like nothing?"

Hina nodded while sipping some of her juice. "I saw the guy somewhere."

Iori frowned, "an ex?"

Hina coughed, "no, the guy was probably like in college. I saw him somewhere though, I swear I have."

Iori looked down, "in a dream?"

Hina shook her head, "definitely not." She took a big sip, "I saw him though. Maybe gonna check some old photos. Maybe he's a long lost family member."

Iori chuckled, "I mean could be. Why are you so adamant to find out who this guy is."

"Cause when I saw him yesterday. My brain just felt like remembering him was important, but I don't remember him."

Iori shrugged, "you know what the Americans say. If you don't remember, it wasn't important…"

Hina giggled, "that's not the right line, but I get it. I will investigate though, it's been bothering me. But enough about me, what about you? Don't you have the BelialVamdemon's defeat reunion coming up?"

Iori shrugged, "honestly with how scattered everyone is. I don't see it happening, ya know." Iori finished his juice and tossed it into a trashcan. Missing as he sighed and walked over. "Since last year, two babies have been born. I think this year is going to be a miss."

Hina moaned in disappointment, "but they were always so fun. Have they ever skipped one?"

"Once," Iori threw the juice box to the trash can. "It was when Daisuke-san went missing. And the year Hikari-san had Miyuki-san."

Hina thought for a second. "Daisuke-san… what did he look like?"

Iori was ready to answer before the bell rang. "It's nothing," he sighed, "the guy has been gone for a while. He is just a bad memory now anyways." Iori walked down the hallways, "we don't want to be late to class," he pointed with a smirk.

Jun was cooking. Quietly, she dazed off. Seeing her brother in her head. "Daisuke-san…" she whispered softly.

"Jun?" Yamato walked in. Jun jumped as she noticed the food was sizzling. She shook around the pan and stirred the rice in there. "Is something wrong with you?"

"No, I was just dozing off."

Yamato walked over, "you did that last night on our date. And you've been doing that since morning. Something up?"

Jun shifted her eyes, "I didn't do that during sex."

Yamato smirked, "I mean I guess that's flattering, but you dozing off isn't like you." He walked up and hugged her back, "what's wrong, like really?"

Jun felt his light kisses on the back of her neck. "I don't know… if I tell you, you'll be mad."

Yamato's hold stiffened, he moved back, "you didn't cheat on me?"

Jun shook her head, "never, it's just… it's complicated."

Yamato rubbed his hand, "do you like someone else?"

Jun lowered the temperature of the fire, "no, it's not that in any way. I can't explain it."

Yamato paused. He walked over and grabbed Jun's hand. Holding it, "I know we both had some hard times. But I think we both can get through anything. What's wrong Jun? I want to be by your side for this." Jun bit her lip. "And I won't be mad," Matt explained.

Jun took a moment, "okay, Daisuke-san is back." A pause. A very long pause. And it kept continuing, "Yamato-san?"

Yamato suddenly came back from his brief trance, "sorry, I thought I misheard you or something."

Jun looked down, "you didn't, Daisuke-san is back." And once again the silence began. Only the sound of sizzling rice, "you promised you wouldn't be mad."

Yamato's eyes went from still to wide very quickly when he looked at Jun's nervous face. His mouth opened wide before saying, "like THAT Daisuke-san."

Jun nodded, "my brother. He's back."

Yamato touched his chest and took weird breaths. "So like, he's back. Is he with your parents.."

Jun sighed, "yes and he showed up very recently. Two days ago now. I didn't find out until yesterday. Apparently he found where my dad was and they met up. He's back, 21 now… and all." Yamato had his jaw wide open. He stepped back until he found a chair to sit on. Jun shrugged, "I passed out so you and my dad are tied in low reactions."

Yamato put his hand over his mouth. Before taking a deep breath, "Anyone else knows?"

Jun turned off the stove, "if they do, I wouldn't know it. Daisuke-san says he didn't see anyone else. Though, he was at the old apartments where my parents used to live." Yamato got a look of concern, "don't worry, he didn't encounter Hikari-san. I am glad that didn't happen yet."

Yamato put his thumb against his temple, "why didn't you tell me yesterday."

"I wanted a happy night…"

Yamato put his hand on hers, "I mean I wouldn't have still given you a happy night. I just… I can't believe it…" he leaned back, "I didn't think this day was going to come."

Jun smiled, "I didn't either, but we are here now. My little brother is back. And he doesn't know HIkari-san got pregnant by him." Yamato froze with his eyes not blinking for a bit. Turning with a look of surprise, "yup, i tried to see if he was aware, but as far as he knows. Someone else knocked her up. Though I didn't feel like asking him if he had sex. Maybe if I find a way to bring it up without giving away Miyuki-san's existence. Telling him won't put him in shock."

Yamato finally spoke, "he doesn't know…"

Jun nodded sadly, "and I wish we wouldn't tell him."

Yamato rubbed his eyes, "one look at Miyuki-san and he'll know he's the father."

Jun shrugged, "I am planning on telling him." Yamato raised a brow, "unless we can get rid of him from Odaiba or all of Japan. He'll find out and I rather him not find out accidentally. Or found out by any of the Yagami siblings."

Yamato snorted, "Yagami siblings," before his face got serious, "Taichi-san would murder him."

Jun took a deep breath, "I'm more worried about the mother of the child in this case."

Yamato rubbed his chin, "a time machine and this Daisuke goes back in time to a timeline where he never left."

Jun stared away before breaking into laughter, "I am glad you're not taking this seriously."

Yamato smiled, "I'm processing." He put his hand over Jun's again, "I won't kill him. Doesn't mean I like him…" he emphasized clearly, "but he is your brother and you are my wife. He made us split once, but not this time. I just need to figure out how I will save my butt from not telling the Chosen Children."

"What?" Jun giggled.

Yamato smiled, "Daisuke had four years to figure this out. I only have a few minutes, cut me some slack,"

Jun laughed before being pulled in for a kiss. Yamato kissing her deep, "let's figure this out together. Like we should have when he left…"

"Yeah… let's…" she continued her passionate kiss before getting up. She groaned when breaking the kiss, "you can't seduce me to sex right now. I'm cooking and thinking about how to make sure my brother isn't hospitalized."

Yamato happily leaned over and smiled at his wife trying to compose herself as she turned the stove back on. "I do have an idea though."

In an office with a bunch of computers and papers all over. Two people sat side to side as they were typing. Screens showing different designs on some type of exo-suit.

Suddenly a phone rang, stopping the typing.

Picking up the phone, Koushiro immediately asked, "Koushiro speaking, how can I help you?"

Silence, "Yamato-san?"
