Curious. After she left his office, Severus fumbled thru one of his desk drawers looking for the resume Minerva gave him.

It gave very little information about Miss Lee. Graduated with top marks in Potions, Herbology, and Defence. Transfiguration and Charms not bad either. Being a Potions Master at 20 is impressive, although he admittedly wasn't familiar with the American Standards. Her potions were surprisingly good. Better than good. And brewing them simultaneously showed a great deal of focus despite her constant chattering. Severus enjoyed being alone in silence too much to have someone like Miss Lee around with her noise. Severus raked his fingers through his hair. He had never planned on being back in this office. This castle. Or anywhere. Damn that Potter. Why couldn't he just let him die?

A knock at the door interupted his thoughts

"Enter"

"Just checking to see how you're doing"

"Potter. Since when do you come to the dungeons?"

"Snape. I just came to make sure you're ok and see how your new assistant is settling in. I can't imagine you're too helpful" That smirk.

"Her chambers are next door. You are welcome to bother her if it means you leave my office"

"You and I don't need to be friends, but after all we've been through, we could at least be friendly"

Severus sighed kneading his forehead with his fingers. Friendly.

"How are Molly and Arthur? I heard they...suffered a loss"

"Yeah. Fred. They are about as well as can be expected. George hasnt been doing well. Ron has had to run their shop for the most part. He is waiting a year so we can start Auror training together. The Weasley took in Teddy, Remus and Tonks' son. For now."

Severus liked Molly and Arthur. Too many were killed in this war. Except for the one who should have been. But this is what he deserves. To live. To remember. To suffer.

"How have you been...since getting out of St. Mungo's..." Potter was prying.

"Miss Lee is next door. Please close the door on your way out"

The second drawer on his desk held a bottle of whiskey. He poured himself a healthy glass and downed it in one shot.
