Chapter 2: Damage Report
At the training grounds of UA, the students of Class 1-A stood facing down their teachers, ready for their term exam. Everyone was in their costumes, ready to hear the assignments for what they expected to be their most challenging task yet.
If only.
Before Principal Nezuki could announce the teams, one of the robots in charge of maintenance and training burst onto the scene carrying a speaker phone.
[Alert! Alert! Principal Nezuki! Priority One Message from Hero Association for UA Staff!] It cried out over and over, coming to a screeching halt right between the students and the Pro-Heroes. [It's an emergency!] It screeched again, prompting everyone to rush over with Nezuki in front.
"What's the situation?" The mouse man urgently asked. "Is it the League of Villians?"
[Negative. Connecting call now!] With that the device was activated, turning on a video call with an official of the Hero Association. The people of UA could see so many epole running around in extreme hurry.
"We have a major problem!" The official cried out. "There's some monstrous creature rampaging in the city! We're throwing everything we have at it but nothings working!"
"What's the damage?" Eraserhead spoke up. "How many heroes are injured and where is the threat?"
"It's beyond injuries!" The official responded. "At this rate, the Heroes will be completely destroyed!"
A short time ago in Hosu city
Panic.
Pure panic like nothing had been seen before. The Nomu once released by the League of Villians were toddlers compared to this beast. The monster rampaged like crazy, attacking everything in sight, and everyone.
Soon after the A-rank hero had been killed, the Association called for an evacuation of the city, hoping they could stop the monster before it got there. It was futile. Every single hero there was either killed or mortally wounded. And even when everything around it was gone, the monster did not stop. Instead, it saw the next target of its violence, and struck. Its powerful legs allowed it to reach the edge of the city before evacuation in that area had been completed. And with a roar of fury, Doomsday made itself known to the city of Hosu, and to this world.
As the beast rampaged and slaughtered, the people cried for their Heroes to save them, and they did answer the call. Many prioritized saving the civilians and getting them as far away from the monster as possible. The others fought the beast to hold it back as much as possible.
A rather futile effort. All who fought Doomsday suffered at his hands. The signature limbs of Death-Arms were twisted and broken in multiple spots, Kamui Wood had his legs and arms shredded like a woodchipper, and Mount Lady's attempts to use her size to her advantage backfired as it just made it easier for him to break every single one of her fingers and even jump right up to attack her face. And these where the lucky ones. For each heor severely injured, there were nearly as many mortally wounded.
Even the top heroes could not seem to stop the monster. Endeavor himself had stepped forward, attacking the creature with flames hot enough to melt the road. But it just made the monster angry. Again and again he attacked, and the monster just got angrier and charge at him more ferociously. He was forced to use his powers to shoot up out of the way, gritting his teeth in rage at having to dodge a mindless beast like this. The moment was short lived as the monster jumped up himself and grabbed the man's legs, even as fire was coming out of them, and slammed him back to the ground. It landed several heavy blows, before Endeavor retaliated with right to the face, actually stopping the beast in its tracks. While still keeping the flames up, Endeavor got to his feet and, with a roar of defiance, cranked his flames al the way to the hottest blue flames he could create, reducing nearly everything to ash. He kept it up for as long as possible, not wanting to give the creature even a second to recover. Unfortunately, his flames just weren't hot enough as a grey muscled and clawed arm burst through the blue inferno, grabbed his arms and crushed the bones in its grip forcing them flames to stop burning. Endeavor's own screams of pain were forced shut as another fit struck him right in the face. This time, Doomsday made the proud hero could not use any flames to save himself. However, this means he could not stop an attack of sharp feathers that actually priced his skin as I turned, it say Hawks the feathered hero flying high in the sky, zooming away. Enraged, the best ran after its new quarry, giving other heroes the chance to grab Endeavor and get him to safety.
Current time, UA Training Area
"That's the current situation!" The Association Official summed up.
Shock and horror was written on the faces of all the students and teachers. The idea that there would actually be something strong enough or even crazy enough to cause such destruction. Not even the recent events with the League of Villains and the Hero Killer Stain came close to this report. Todoroki himself was shocked to hear that his father was so quickly and severely dealt with. Not even Bakugo had anything to say about this.
Of course, the Pro Heroes were already working on a plan of action.
"Show us real time data." Aizawa requested. "We can coordinate an ambush."
"Negative." The official responded. "The association has already come up with a plan. We want to make sure it no civilians get caught in the crossfire and if you come here to fight that might end up happening. So-"
"If the fight is moved here," Nezuki interrupted. "Not only will it be in an area where it can't harm innocent civilians, but it'll be in an area that we have control over." He concluded.
"Precisely." The official acknowledged, relief on his face at not having to spend time explaining the plan. "Hawks is making sure the monster follows him, and we have some select heroes ready in case it gets too dangerous for him. The rest are focusing on evacuation and rescue."
"Roger." Nezuki said, the Pro-Hero teachers nodding with him. "We'll be ready when it comes."
The transmission ended and the robot scampered away. At the same time, Nezuki started barking orders to the teachers as well as commands to the controls of the training area. Already several robots were zooming out to alter the training areas and maximize the homefield advantage. The Pro Heroes were adjusting their equipment, switching form the student friendly loadouts to their proper set up.
"What can we do?" Midoriya spoke up, getting some of the teacher's attention.
"You kids are going to the medical area and taking shelter with Recover Girl." Aizawa replied instantly. "If this thing can tear through professional heroes, you brats will get shredded."
"But we have to do something!" Midoriya protested. "Right guys?" He asked his classmates, turning to face them. However, every single one of them were reluctant to look him in the eye. In fact, all of them seemed quite pale, even the pink skinned Mina.
"Midoriya," Iida spoke up, placing a hand on his shoulder. "When I was going to go after Stain, you told me not to do anything myself. Now as a friend I'm telling you that this is far bigger than us."
"But-"
"Now now." Spoke a proud booming voice. Everyone turned to face All-Might, standing proud and tall with his muscular silhouette, dust billowed out below him from just landing there. He strode forward and placed a hand on the green haired boy's shoulder. "It's admirable that the first think you think of doing is offering your own assistance. However, there is a time to be brave and a time to be wise young man." He said holding up a finger. "And now is the time to be wise and listen to those with more experience."
Midoriya was still quite nervous, but now for another reason. He was worried that this unknown threat might be the end of All Might. The Nomu was an intense trial, and this new danger was something worse. If it posed such a threat to other heroes, then there was no telling how far All Might would push himself in order to deal with it.
"Relax young man." All Might spoke, interrupting his thoughts process. With a wide toothy smile on his face he raised his hand high and pointed towards the sky.
"For I am Here!"
