Jubal and Maggie had gotten up early so that they could travel in to work together and be in before the other's so that they weren't seen arriving together. They were sitting at their breakfast bar drinking their coffee and Jubal noticed how quiet Maggie was so he nudged her shoulder gently with his.

"You doing okay baby?."

"I know it's going to sound silly but I feel a little nervous about going back to work." Maggie had both her hands wrapped around her coffee mug as she looked at Jubal.

Jubal ran his hand over Maggie's back slowly as he leaned in kissing her temple and cheek "It's not silly baby, you haven't been in the JOC to work for six weeks. Anyone would feel nervous about their first day back, but you aren't alone, I'll be right there with you the whole time in the JOC."

Maggie smiled feeling Jubal's kisses to her temple and cheek, she had no idea how this man could calm her nerves so easily and he was right she knew that he would be in the JOC if she needed him. "You know I wouldn't be able to do this if you weren't going to be there today with me."

Jubal turned in his chair to face Maggie as he moved closer to her letting his fingertips brush along the back of her neck gently. He knew Maggie admitting that was a big thing for her and wasn't something that she found easy to do.

"You Maggie Bell are a lot stronger than you give yourself credit for." He lay his chin lightly on her shoulder.

Maggie turned her head kissing Jubal's forehead before resting her forehead lightly against his "And you might be a little biased." She chuckled softly.

"Not biased at all, I just know you better than most people so means that I am better informed to say such facts." He smiled as he was letting his thumb brush the skin on her neck enjoying the way it made Maggie's eyes close.

"I love you so much Jubal." Maggie whispered as she kissed him softly "Thank you for everything, for being you, for loving me, for being patient with me, for having the kids here with us and for showing up yesterday with the kids. You three were exactly what I needed to feel more like myself again."

"I love you too Maggie and I will happily remind you of that every single day" He smiled as he kissed Maggie back softly "You know that I'm going to tell you that you never have to thank me, I'm exactly where I want to be baby, and trust me the kids loved the time that they got with you just as much as you loved the time with them. I am a very lucky man to have you three in my life."

"We are the lucky ones to be loved and protected by you." Maggie smiled as she lifted her free hand to Jubal's cheek caressing it with her thumb as she kissed him more passionately this time only pulling apart when her lungs felt like they were burning at their need for air. "You ready to head in to work babe? I want to be able to walk into the JOC with you."

Jubal was a little surprised by the passion in the kiss from Maggie but it only took him a second to respond, he would honestly never get tired of kissing this incredible woman. He nodded his head as he looked at Maggie "I'm ready baby and I'll be right by your side."

They stood up quickly tidying up their kitchen washing their coffee mugs before they headed to work. The journey to 26 FED was quiet but Jubal knew that Maggie was just trying to get herself mentally prepared for being back at work, she had reached over taking his free hand in hers and had been playing with his fingers the whole way to work. They had stood shoulder to shoulder leaning lightly against each other as they stood in the elevator on their own, Maggie was thankful that when she walked in to the JOC it was still quiet. Isobel had spotted Jubal and Maggie coming in and she smiled knowing that they had come in early so that they could come in to the JOC together.

Isobel decided that her morning briefing with Jubal could wait for a little bit so that he was beside Maggie when the other's came in. Maggie and Jubal were sitting at his desk at the front of the JOC, the JOC had started to fill up and Maggie could hear OA's voice before she could see him. OA was chatting to Kristen as he walked in to the JOC and he froze when he saw Maggie.

"Maggie? You are back? Like really back?."

Maggie couldn't help but chuckle softly at OA's shock, she had told him and Kristen that she would be back soon but hadn't told them when exactly. She nodded as she looked at OA "I'm really back, you are going to be having me back as your partner, you ready for that?."

"Hell yeah I'm ready, get up here and gimme a hug." OA now had a large smile on his face as he walked towards Maggie.

Maggie shook her head laughing as she stood up and walked over to OA hugging him "You are a lot bossier than I remember." She teased him playfully.

He hugged her as tight as he could without hurting her "It's so good to have you back and hey someone had to look after this lot while you were away." He teased playfully looking at Jubal and Kristen.

Jubal raised an eyebrow looking at OA "You make that sound like you were running the JOC while Maggie was away."

OA was stopped from replying to Jubal when he heard Kristen speak "You two can argue about that right after OA let's Maggie go so that I can hug her." She pulled a funny face at OA.

Maggie laughed as she shook her head stepping from OA over to Kristen and hugged her tighter than she had when she first saw her last week. Maggie smiled "I see you managed to not kill any of them while I was away."

Kristen noticed that Maggie was hugging a little tighter so she hugged back just as tight and she laughed when she heard Maggie and stepped back a little to look at her friend "Oh trust me they really didn't make it very easy." Maggie and Kristen laughed as they heard OA and Jubal say 'Hey' at the same time.

Jubal sat back in his chair as he watched Maggie standing between OA and Kristen, she looked so much more relaxed now and had a genuine smile on her face. She was slowly coming back to herself and that caused the smile on his face to grow even more.

Emily walked in and sighed playfully loud as she looked at them "Oh thank God they finally know, keeping that a secret was not an easy thing." She laughed as she stepped forward hugging Maggie.

Maggie laughed as she hugged Emily back and stood beside her as they heard OA speak "Wait you knew and didn't tell us?."

"I asked Emily not to tell you guys I wanted it to be a surprise, I was due back yesterday so I told Emily on Sunday." Maggie smiled softly as she looked at OA.

Emily looked at OA "I had to know so that I could finish up all the paperwork to head back to the drug branch, so this week will be my last with you guys."

Kristen looked at Maggie "You said you were due back yesterday what happened that you didn't come back because we definitely would have noticed if you were here." She chuckled softly.

Jubal had spoke to Maggie about her Gold Medal, he told her that she should tell the team in case someone else told them and that they would be nothing but happy for her and proud of her. Maggie briefly looked at Jubal before at Kristen, OA and Emily.

"I had to attend a ceremony yesterday, they gave me the Gold Medal for my work on Operation Powder." Maggie was speaking a little shyly she really wasn't one for the glory of the award, to her she was just doing her job.

"You got awarded the Gold Medal?" OA spoke with a large smile on his face and you could hear how proud he was of his partner "Maggie that is amazing, you earned it, Isobel was able to tell us that they were able to make sixteen arrests because of you."

Kristen looked at Jubal "Please tell me that you and Isobel were at least there yesterday since we weren't?." Kristen hated the idea that her friend had received such an honour on her own.

Jubal smiled hearing Kristen and he nodded "Both Isobel and I were there that's why we left here in such a hurry yesterday." The team had asked why Jubal hadn't returned with Isobel and she had told them that he was attending meetings all day as she had other work to take care of.

"Oh thank God cause you know we would have been pissed if you guys hadn't of went." Kristen was joking with Jubal playfully which just made OA, Maggie and Emily laugh.

Jubal raised an eyebrow looking at Kristen "We only didn't tell you guys because we knew you weren't allowed to attend and we also thought that this was something that Maggie should tell you herself."

OA smiled looking at Maggie as he wrapped an arm around her pulling her in to a side hug "Well I speak for us all when I say that we are really proud of you but that we are also really glad that this means you are back for good" he looked at Emily "No offence to you of course." He chuckled softly.

Emily shook her head laughing "No offence taking don't worry OA, I know I was only here until your partner could return to you and honesty I admire her even more now knowing what she has to put up with daily." She teased OA playfully.

Maggie laughed when she heard Emily "Well thank you for not shooting him when he no doubt wouldn't stop talking your ear off." Maggie teased playfully "And thank you for looking out for him while I was away, it's not an easy job." She smirked joking as OA nudged her shoulder gently with his which just made Maggie laugh.

Kristen shook her head laughing "Okay I've held back as long as I can but can we please now talk about the fact that you have a boyfriend?." Kristen nodded at the chain that Maggie was wearing.

Maggie's hand instinctively went to her chain as she smiled softly, she had to try really hard to not look at Jubal when she heard Kristen mention her boyfriend. She knew that they were going to have questions for her she was honestly surprised it had taken them this long. "You know I was honestly expecting it to be OA that brought it up first." She teased playfully.

"Hey you have no idea how hard it was to not have already asked." OA pulled a funny face at Maggie. "So come on give us all the details." He smirked looking at Maggie.

Jubal leaned back in his chair as he watched Maggie, he felt bad as he was the reason that the team knew she had a boyfriend but he couldn't lie, a part of him was curious to see what Maggie said to them. Maggie was still playing with the chain as she listened to OA, she had no idea how Jubal had done this, she was really struggling to not look at him as she was afraid that looking at him would give away that he was her boyfriend.

"OA you are my partner and one of my closest friends but I am not about to give you all the details of my relationship. No before you argue that is not how partners are with each other." She shook her head laughing.

"Hey, I thought I was your best friend." OA pouted playfully.

Kristen shook her head laughing "I think you'll find that might now be her boyfriend."

"Okay fair enough I'll settle for second place" OA joked playfully "So do we get anything?."

"Other than he was the one that got you that chain that you have been wearing since Christmas, and oh my God that engraving, that was one of the sweetest things I have ever heard even if it was OA reading it out." Kristen laughed softly as she looked briefly at OA before back at Maggie.

"Wait you remember the engraving?." Maggie was genuinely surprised.

Kristen and Emily looked at Maggie and at the same time both spoke "Every step I have taken was to bring me closer to you."

Maggie chuckled softly as she heard them both say it together even though she had some tears in her eyes, her thumb ran over the engraving on the back of her chain. She glanced at Jubal so quickly that she was sure that no one had noticed. He was sitting in shock he couldn't believe that they had remembered the engraving word for word. Maggie shook her head as she looked at Kristen and Emily.

"I have to admit I never imagined you all standing here saying the engraving out loud." She chuckled softly as she settled her emotions, she remembered Jubal giving her the chain on Christmas Day and how many times she had read the engraving as he kept telling her it was the truth. "He really is one of the sweetest men that you could meet and I am very lucky to have him especially when he was so accepting about me leaving for the five weeks for Operation Powder."

OA smiled looking at his partner who hadn't stopped smiling while talking "You look really happy when you talk about him."

"I'm not ready to get into the details with you guys just yet but I am really happy, the happiest I have been in a really long time. But I promise that you will get to meet him soon and you guys will really like him."

Kristen couldn't help the smile as she looked at her friend "We won't push for details, no matter how much OA and I want to." She chuckled softly "But you really do look happy Maggie and you seem in love with him."

Maggie was trying so hard to keep her attention on Kristen to stop her from looking at Jubal "You guys are getting more out of me than I had planned." She chuckled softly "But I have no problem in admitting to you all that I am without a doubt completely in love with him. I just want to keep him to myself a little bit longer before letting you all meet him."

OA was going to tease Maggie and playfully annoy her with questions but he was truly happy for his partner and friend, this was the most he had saw Maggie smile since they had met. "I just have one more question and I will then drop it for now…" he smirked playfully "Wait I lied, I've two, How long have you been dating and is he good to you and looks after you?."

"We started dating eight months ago and he treats me better than anyone ever has in my life, I keep telling him he's too good to me." Maggie chuckled softly "There isn't anything that he wouldn't do for me." Maggie smiled as she looked at OA, she really hadn't stopped smiling since she had started talking about Jubal. "And after that I really need some coffee and you have all gotten enough out of me for now." She shook her head laughing as she left heading to the break room.

Kristen, OA and Emily watched as Maggie walked out of the JOC and towards the break room and Kristen finally turned to face them "That is the happiest I have seen Maggie, but can we meet her guy already? He sounds so sweet and adorable."

OA laughed "Not sure any man wants to be described that way, but I will agree with you, I really want to meet the man that is making Maggie that happy. She truly deserves it though."
