Kise Ryota

Ryota Kise couldn't help but chuckle to himself. He really riled up that Haruka girl. He followed her out of the class and appreciated her figure and her confident strut.

"And for your information I'm not self-obsesssed. It's the people who obsess with me," he said hoping to get some sort of a reaction out of her.

"Whatever," she said imitating his dialect without looking back. She was pretty. If she wasn't so outspoken maybe he would've considered hooking up with her. He laid eyes on her couple of times when they crossed paths. As intriguing as she was, she was also unpredictable and Ryota just didn't want anything complicated. He liked his girls predicable, cute and most importantly not clingy. For some reason Haruka gave off a vibe of a girl who was looking for a relationship and Ryota was not ready for that. At all. With that thought headed over for basketball practice.

Another perfect shot.

"Kise can you keep your fan club away from practice? They're really distracting the team," Kasamatsu growled, passing the ball to him. Ryota looked up at the court balconies and saw some girls taking photos on their phones. He gave them a wink which sent the girls into a giggling frenzy. He got punched in the back by the captain for that.

Kise chuckled. "Sorry cap."

Kasamatsu was an interesting guy. They weren't off to a great start in the beginning of the term. The captain round kicked him around the face just for being a bit too open about himself. But it was the second week of basketball practice and Ryota had to admit he was beginning to respect his senpai. The guy was harsh but that's what made the school team so strong.

With the practice being more brutal than ever they went back to shower and changed. In the locker room Daisuke and Koji were discussing their favourite subject- girls.

"Mika is still ignoring me. She rejected me twice already. She was watching Kise play today." Daisuke complained to Koji feeling dejected.

"Damn Ryota can you just get yourself a girlfriend so the rest of the girls aren't pining for you? Give us a chance man."

Ryota chuckled as he threw his towel in the laundry basket. "I think I'd like to focus on basketball." None of the girls had really excited him. Except the one who he bickered with today. She was close enough.

"Oh come on it's your first year in high school have some fun. And besides, you're lucky, your year has some really good looking girls."

"Speaking of my year, does Haruka Matsumoto have a boyfriend?" He couldn't help himself. Half of the practice he kept thinking of her.

"No. But I won't be surprised if she does get one soon. Pretty ones like her are the first to go."

Kasamatsu entered the changing rooms. "Practice same time tomorrow," he barked an order and with his glare dared anyone to protest. Tomorrow was Saturday. No one complained. Taking silence as agreement he left the changing room.

"Actually if anyone needs a girlfriend it's Kasamatsu. Maybe he'll be less obsessed with basketball and actually have fun once in a while," Koji muttered once he was sure Kasamatsu was really gone.

"Oh? He hasn't dated anyone?" Ryota asked, surprised. Being the captain of the basketball team usually guaranteed getting laid.

"No he's actually a big softie at heart and is too shy to talk to the girls he likes. He kind of liked this one girl called Mizuki from our year, but he hasn't confessed to her. Only says hello and goodbye."

Ryota Kise who has never in his life had a problem with talking to girls found this very peculiar and amusing.

"You know," Daisuke said to Ryota, "there's a girl from the third year who really likes you."

"How do you know?" Ryota asked, half interested. It was not the first time older girls took a liking to him. He had two older sisters and was used to flirting with their friends.

"Dude rumours. They spread faster than fire in this school. Her name is Inoue Mai if you're interested."

"She's cute," Koji added wistfully.

"I'm flattered that you're trying to set me up senpai," Ryota said.

"Please date someone for all of our sake Kise you unfairly good looking bastard."
