Chapter 3
The Magic Shop
Meanwhile the mystery gang had been walking for about an hour and had come to the path near the woods, they still hadn't found anything to do.
"Well gang, I don't think there is any other events tonight. Do you think we should go back?" Fred asked.
"Hm. Guess we should." Velma replied.
"Well this was definitely are most disappointing halloween yet." Shaggy said. They were about to start back when a hooting sound spooked Shaggy and Scooby, they jumped in fear onto a tree branch.
"Don't be a bunch of fraidy-cats. It's only an owl." Velma said. The cowardly duo chucked in embarrassment, as they were getting off the branch they noticed a light coming from a building in the forest.
"Hey these a small shop down there." Shaggy said.
"A shop? In the middle of the woods?" asked Velma.
"Res." Scooby answered.
"Well we've gone this far, we might as well look around." said Daphne.
The gang made their way to the shop. Once they got to there Shaggy read the sign above. "Delisle's shop of magic." The gang looked at each other before Fred went to open the door, however before he could reach the handle the door opened . the interior of the shop was filled with serval strange items. The gang looked around before the door closed behind them.
"Thank..." Fred said but there was no-one there.
"D-dd-did that door just open and close by itself?" Shaggy asked.
"R-r-r-res." Scooby said.
Daphne turned to a bust statue of a woman, as she looked at the head she swore she saw it blink. Daphne walked over to it to get a better look.
"Hey, hey not to close. I have my own personal bubble you know." the statue said which caused Daphne to gasp.
"What is it Daphne!" Fred asked, running to his girlfriend. Daphne pointed to the head. "The st-stat-statue. It... it... it..."
"Talked?" the bust finished. The gang gasped, Velma walked up to the head to see if it had any wires or batters that made the statue talk.
"Guys. This statue isn't being powered by anything. It's...it's..." Velma said, but the sentence was finished by the head.
"Real."
"Zoinks!" Shaggy said as Scooby Doo into his arms.
"What going on in here?" a voice from behind them said. The figure came out form a doorway behind the counter. She was a tall, beautiful woman with dark blue hair and a black dress.
"Excuse me but are the owner of this shop?" asked Daphne, as Velma put the bust down.
"Yes, how can I help you?" the shopkeeper replied.
"Is like all this real?" asked Shaggy as he put Scooby back on the ground.
"Indeed it is. See anything you like" she answered.
"No, I mean is everything here real magic?" he asked.
"Of course it is." the woman replied before she realized what was going on. "Wait. Your mortals?" The gang nodded. "Oh, I'm dreadfully sorry, I hope your weren't too frightened."
"More shocked then anything." Fred said.
"My apologies. I don't get many humans coming into my shop and I should have warned the items to acted inanimate." she said.
"Oh, that's alright, no need to apologies. Really." Daphne said.
"We were just walking and saw your shop and decided to look around." Fred add.
Velma spoke "It's a very nice shop ms Delisle"
"Thank you, but you can just call me Delisle." she said.
"I'm Fred and this is my girlfriend Daphne, this Velma and this is Shaggy and Scooby." the blonde said pointing to his friends.
"Well I'm Glad to meet all of you." Delisle said. "Forgive my curiosity, but why aren't you spending the night at the carnival?"
"We were but we got kicked out after I tried to sneak Scoob into a magic show." Shaggy said with guilt.
"Oh. Sorry I asked." Delisle said.
"Rt's rk." Scooby said.
Delisle gave a small friendly smile before asking another question "Did you at least get to do anything there besides watching the show?"
"We did go on the ghost train." Fred said.
"And we did get are picture take as monsters."
"Monsters?" asked a puzzled Delisle.
"Oh, we were pretending to be monsters behind a cut out. Here I'll show you." the purple dressed woman said handing the photo to Delisle.
"Hm, interesting." the blue haired woman said. "I knew humans dressed as monsters on Halloween, but I didn't know they this as well."
"You know, since monsters are real, do they mind that we pretend to be ones?" Velma asked.
"Not at all. In fact we pretend to be human. " the shop keeper replied.
"Wait. You mean we've could have been talking to a monster and we did even know it?" the green shirt wearing man asked.
"Yes." Delisle said then looked back at the picture as an idea came to her.
"Is something wrong." asked Velma.
"Oh no, I was just thinking. Have you ever considered being monsters yourselves?"
"Rhat ro rou rean?" asked Scooby Doo.
"I mean would you like to be monsters just for tonight?" Delisle asked. The gang thought for a moment about the offer they were given.
"Well, it does sound tempting." said Velma.
"I have wondered what it would be a one." said Fred.
"Just to check, what type of monsters did you have in mind" asked Daphne.
"I was thinking I could turn you into the monsters you are in the photo."
"Does that mean I'll have warts, a long nose and green skin?" Daphne asked nervously.
"Well, the nose and warts are a maybe, but the green skin is definite." Delisle answered
"We don't have to do it if you don't want to." said her boyfriend.
"Well, it is just for one night, and besides I not going to miss the chances to see you as a vampire." said Daphne.
"Well Scoob I guess we're going to have a night of fright." Shaggy said before Scooby whimpered.
"There's nothing to be worried about guys." Fred said.
"It's just for one night." said Velma.
"Besides, they would make great trick or treat costumes." said Daphne "We can still do that right?" she asked Delisle.
"Of course you. Just be back here by... How long do you plan to go trick or treating? the shopkeeper asked.
Daphne looked at her watch, it showed to be 10:07 "About 2 hours."
"Ok then, be back by Midnight and I'll reverse the spell." Delisle said.
"Rou rean. Rou ran ro ragic?" the Great Dane asked.
"Yes. I should have mentioned, I'm a sorceress." answered Delisle
"Whoa, a real sorceress." Fred said in amazement.
Shaggy though for a minute. "Well... Is there anything we should know about first?"
"There are three things. One, your mortal items and clothing will be changed as well. Two, you will still be yourself, but you will act like the monster you become for example you will cackling wickedly or howling at the moon, and Three, you be able to do the magical abilities of your monster such turning into a bat or breathing fire. Any other questions?" the sorceress said.
"Just one. How much?" asked Fred.
"$1.50" she said.
"That genres price." said Shaggy.
"Well, it is only for two hours." Delisle said. "Now, are you all ready?" the gang nodded as Fred gave her the money. Delisle's hands glowed blue before she said the spell. "Retsnom revoekam." she released her magic. It sorrowed the five friends and began to transform them.
Scooby's irises and pupils turned reptilians as his fur became scales with dark bluish-green spots appearing. His tongue became forked as a fang hang form the right side of his top jaw. Two wings grew out of his back. His nostrils widen apart and his collar disappeared
Shaggy's skin turned into the same green color of his shirt as thick brown fur grew all over his body and two long tusks grew from his bottom jaw. His ears became large and pointy. The fur replaced his clothing and coved all of his body except for his face.
Velma's hands became paw-like as her feet turned into back paws. Brown fur grew around her body, large canine fangs grow from her jaw and her clothing turned into middle class Victorian outfit that had rips on it, but was still the same color as her normal outfit. Her mouth grew into wolf muzzle and a wolf tail grew from behind her.
Fred's skin turned pale blue as his hair became well combed and spikey as his eye borrows permanently ached. His fingernails turned into claws and to thin fangs grew from his top jaw. His clothing became a traditional black vampire suit with a long red cape.
Daphne's nose elongated with her nostrils widening and two warts grew on each side. Her hair grew longer and became scruffy and unkept. her chin grew out with a wart growing on the left side. Her eye borrows became permanently arched and longer, her fingers also became longer whilst her nails grew long and sharp. Her skin was now green, her clothing was now a traditional black witch outfit and her hair band was now a black witch hat with an large indigo strip around the middle.
When the spell was finished, the glow disappeared leaving only the five new turned monsters standing. The gang looked at themselves in astonishment, they real monsters, something that they thought was nothing but supernatural fiction only minutes ago.
"Jinkies, I'm a real werewolf" Velma said looking at herself. "I'm an actually supernatural creature. A cross between human and animals."
"Do you like?" Delisle asked.
"Oh, yes I do. I never thought it was possible to be one." the werewolf said.
Meanwhile, Daphne was looking at herself in a mirror, impressed by her new look. "You know, I think I really pull off the witch look." she said, as flipping her scruffy hair. Her voice was only slightly scratchy and higher pitched.
"I'll say you do, why you never looked more beautiful" Fred said in his new Transylvanian accent.
"Your not just saying that because we're dating, are you?" She said in a flirting tone.
"Of course not." the vampire said. "I'm honestly more surprised by how well you taken to your new appearance."
"I am too. I never realized how well green skin goes with my red hair, it even looks good scruffy and longer. Even the warts and long nose aren't too bad." the witch said.
Fred let out a small chuckle. "Well I wish I could see myself as a vampire. I really what to know what I look like."
"Well I think you make a great vampire Freddie and an incredibly handsome one at that." Daphne said.
"Check it out Scoob, are very own monster mash up." said Shaggy.
"Rool." said Scooby.
"Like you said Scoob, you make dragon and I make a great... whatever I am." the hair creature said.
"Your a bestia" said the sorceress.
"Bestia huh, sounds like beast." Shaggy said.
"That because it's Latin for beast." Velma said.
"Huh, go figure. Well time a wasting, come on Scoob lets skip the tricking and go straight to the treats." said Shaggy.
"Mmmhm Reats." said the dragon.
"Thanks Delisle." said the beast.
"You're welcome" she said with a small chuckle. "Just remember to be back before midnight."
"Midnight, got it." said Daphne.
"You know I was just thinking. Since Daphne a witch couldn't she just turn us back with her magic?" ask Velma.
"She does have magic, but a spell form a sorcerer or sorceress can only reversed by the one who casted it or by King Jeff.
"Who's he?" Fred asked.
"He's the ruler of the monster world. The most powerful being in my and your realms." Delisle said.
Just then there was a knocking at the window. The gang and the shopkeeper turned to see it was Jill, June and Jennifer.
"Delisle! Delisle! Delisle!" the fairies shouted whilst banging the glass.
Delisle run to the window and opened it. The fairies flew quickly in, catching their breath.
"What wrong your majesties" Delisle asked.
"Majesties!" the gang said in shock.
"Delisle, you have to close the shop! Now!" Jennifer said urgently.
"Close my shop? But it's not even close to sunrise." the sorceress said.
"Just do it! Please!" said Jill.
"Look, I like a good joke as much as the next person, but this is not the..."
"We're not joking!" said June "It's Elizabeth! She found us!"
Delisle was in shock for a few seconds. "E-Elizabeth?" she asked. The fairies nodded.
"Say, wasn't that the name of the magician?" Velma asked.
"It's was." Shaggy gulped.
"Ru rh." Scooby said worryingly.
"You met her?" asked Delisle.
Shaggy nodded as Scooby spoke. "Rhe raid R'll ray ror ruining rer rhow."
Delisle though quickly for a second. "Your majesties, hide behind the clock in the far corner. You five hide in the back." she said. After she gave them their instructions, the gang went to the back room behind the curtains, whilst the fairies hid behind the clock. Just as they did, Elizabeth came into the shop.
"Elizabeth, you came to see me. How lovely. So how you been?" Delisle said in a friendly tone.
"Don't play games with me Delisle, where are they?!" Elizabeth said in an angry tone.
"Who?"
"The princesses. I know your hiding them in here somewhere."
"I think your mistaken, your the only one that be here all night."
Elizabeth wasn't buying it. She walked around the shop, trying to find any hints of the fairies. Inside the clock the princesses looked in terror. Jennifer hid behind Jill as the magician came closer to the clock.
"We have so much to catch up on. Tell me what have you been doing these past few years?" Delisle asked, trying to distract Elizabeth.
"I've been working at a carnival, doing magic shows." Elizabeth said in bitterness.
"Well I'm glad your doing well for yourse..." Delisle didn't get to finish.
"Quite stalling! Where are they!" Elizabeth said, slamming the counter, she had reached the limits of her patients.
"For the last time Elizabeth, their not here." Delisle said.
Elizabeth glared, trying to get the truth out of the woman in front of her.
Meanwhile, in the back room, the were waiting for the magician to go. Suddenly, Scooby felt a sneeze come, Shaggy quickly covered the dragon's mouth.
Elizabeth ended her glar and looked around one last time, she noticed the mirror and an idea formed in her head.
"Beautiful mirror you got." she said to Delisle. "Why, I can practically see everything." She walked towards the clock again. She had see the fairies in the mirror's reflection. She open the clock to find the three princesses, who gasped in horror.
"Hello ladies." Elizabeth said, before she could grab them, the three fairies flew away as fast as they could, trying to escape. Unfortunately it was also at this moment that Scooby could no longer hold in his sneeze. As he let out the sneeze he accidentally breathed out fire blocking the fairies escape route. Before they could fly higher, Elizabeth managed to grab the middle sibling.
"June!" the others shouted, but it was too late.
When a fairy is captured, their magic is given to the being who captures them. June's sisters watched helplessly as their sister's magic was taken from her and Elizabeth gave an evil laugh.
"At last! After thirty years! I have real magic again!" Elizabeth said.
June dropped to the floor, with her magic gone she had returned to her human form. Her sisters flew over two her.
"June! Are you ok?" Jennifer asked, but all that came out of June's mouth was a moan.
The mystery gang looked in horror, it was then that Elizabeth noticed them and recognised them.
"Well, if it is the meddling gang and their stupid dog too." Elizabeth said. She readied her magic but Delisle stepped in front of them.
"I will not let you harm them sister!" the shopkeeper shouted.
"I was hoping for that" Elizabeth said before casting her spell "Enilef, cigam revomer!" blasting her red magic at her sister, which changed Delisle into a black cat with a dark blue strip on her back.
"That definitely an improvement for you sister." Elizabeth said then turned her attention to the five monsters "I would deal you five later. Right now, I have someone bigger to take down."
As she began to leave, she walked towards June. Jill and Jennifer flew away to prevent getting caught.
"Come princess. You are still a use for me." Elizabeth said, picking up June with her magic and exiting the shop.
The gang and the fairies when to Delisle to see if she was all right.
"Oh no. Oh no. This not good this is terrible." Delisle said with panic in her voice.
"Don't worry, will find away to turn you back." Velma said trying to comfort the cat.
"No you don't understand. She also took my magic." Delisle said.
"That means we're stuck like this and worse?" Daphne asked.
"Indeed. With her powers back, who knows what she could do to this realm." the cat said.
"What are going to do? how are going to save June?" Jennifer asked her older sister, nearly in tears.
"I...I...I don't know" Jill replied.
"Wait. Are you two the daughters of King Jeff?" Shaggy asked. The nodded. "What you said about the king?" he asked Delisle.
"His the only one..." she realised where he was going. "We have have to go to him."
"Rut rhat rbout Rune?" Scooby asked.
"I've got an idea." Fred "Us five will go with Delisle to King Jeff, whilst... um, what are names?"
"Mine's Jill and her name is Jennifer." the oldest fairy said.
"Ok, then you two will go rescue your sister." the vampire said.
"Sounds like a plan." said Velma.
"I'm for that" Daphne said before turning towards Shaggy and Scooby. "Ok you two, are you in or..." but Shaggy interrupted her.
"Daphne. Me and Scoob maybe cowards, but this time the fate of world is on are shoulders." the beast.
"Ro re're rn." said Scooby.
"So does mean I don't have to give you two a Scooby Snack?" she asked. The duo looked at it other. "Rake rt rhree." the dragon said, before the witch gave them the snacks which they ate quickly.
"We have no time to lose. Fellow me." Delisle said.
The gang followed the cat as the fairies flow out of the door to rescue their sister.
