Suguro was awaken by a scream, shooting up from his chair, he realized the scream was Rin who was thrashing around in the bed, begging for the phantom pain to stop. Suguro noticed that the I.V was ripped out of his hand while he was throwing himself around. Yukio woke up as well, immediately threw himself over Rin, stopping him from thrashing. A nurse came in, wondering what was going on. Yukio started shaking him, trying to wake him up, but his thrashing body slammed Yukio against the chest, throwing him back. Suguro slapped Rin, but it didn't do anything but leave a mark. The nurse appeared in Suguro's vision with a needle.

"I need you to hold him down for me!" She demanded. Suguro obliged, watching her shove the needle in, releasing the liquid. After a few more minutes, Rin's body went limp, his breathing erratic as he slowly calmed back into a sleeping state. Suguro collapsed against the chair, running a hand through his hair.

"What was that?" Yukio asked, rubbing his chest.

"A night terror. He warned me it was a possibility." He explained. The nurse nodded.

"Most patients who go through such trauma will have these sorts of things. They will get night terrors to accompany their PTSD." The nurse explained, throwing the needle into the hazardous bucket. She turned towards the door. "He should sleep well enough with the sedative. If you need anything, press the call button." She left the room.

Yukio looked over at the sleeping Rin, his breathing still heavy and his forehead dripping sweat, but he looked peaceful. His eyes traveled down to Rin and Suguro who were holding hands. Rin, despite sleeping, seemed to have a death grip against Suguro's hand.

Yukio sighed, looking out the window, spotting the clouds blowing in to block the moon. After a moment of staring, rain started, hitting the window lightly with a rhythmic thud. "It's… so weird to see him act the way he did." Suguro said.

"I know. With the state his body is in and how we found him, I don't think the old Rin is who he is anymore. Especially since he is acting this way." Yukio explained, shooting his glance at Rin again. Suguro took a deep breath, sinking into the chair.

"How do you plan to care for him now?" Suguro asked.

Yukio stood up from the chair, stretching his back before placing his hands on the rails of the bed. His face turned to concern mixed with uncertainty. "I don't know. I have exorcist training and class to still do. I can't do that while also watching out for Rin. I may have to choose between them." He says.

Suguro shook his head. "No you don't. I can watch him in the afternoon during cram school while you teach the class and then you can just bring it home and teach me one on one. That way I can still catch up and Rin can be supervised until he can get back on his feet."

Yukio folded his arms, a smile wide across his face. "You would do that? I thought you hated Rin."

"I do.. Or well did. The past 4 months he went missing made me realize how much of a dick I was. Guess I was jealous of how badass he was and also that he was a son of satan. I didn't even take into account that maybe with his half human side he would take the words I said to him to heart." Suguro looked down at Rin who's face had scrunched up due to whatever was going on in his head. He looked in pain almost and Suguro flinched thinking about what Hell Rin must have gone through. Not only was he found in such a state, but he was broken. More broken than anyone Suguro has seen in his past.

"Don't worry, Suguro. He will tell us when he is ready." Yukio turned to the door to leave. Suguro watched him, closing the door. He decided to go back to sleep, his exhaustion taking over.

Morning came, Suguro blinked awake, his head shot to his hand to see it vacant. He turned his gaze, seeing Rin had his knees to his chest and his hands wrapped close to his knees. Yukio was still asleep on the chair, but Rin was awake.

Suguro reached his hand, placing it on Rin's wrist. Rin's face morphed into one of fear, pulling away from the hand so violently, he let out a hitched breathless squeal. It woke Yukio who jumped awake, his eyes looking between both of them.

"Whats wrong?" He asked.

"Nothing. I grabbed Rin's wrist without thinking." Instead of trying to grab his hands, he traced his fingers along Rin's forearm receiving a slight flinch, but then a face of recognition.

It's okay. Suguro. Yukio.

Rin relaxed against the pillow, allowing his arm to fall close to Suguro. "S-sorry. I uhm… got lost in my… my head a-again."

No need to apologize. We Understand.

Rin knitted his eyebrows, focusing on the letters Suguro spelled out. Suguro had to retrace the letters a few times before Rin got what he was saying. He sighed, leaning against the bed. "Oh… Can I ask… I mean… did you kill my Master?"

Suguro and Yukio exchanged looks before SUguro traced the words. When we found you. Alone. No one else was there.

It took Rin a few tries but once he realized what Suguro wrote, his face went white. He dropped his knees, turning his whole body to Suguro, grabbing his hand with both of his. His face was filled with so much fear it made Suguro uncomfortable. "He's still out there?! Did I feel that right Suguro?! Please tell me you are joking!" He cried out.

Suguro bit his lip, his heart pounding in his ears. With his free hand he glided his hand across Rin's arm.

Yes. He is still out there.

Rin collapsed against the bed after deciphering Suguro's lettering. He brought his knees up to his chest again, trying to disappear behind anything but he couldn't. His whole body was sore and frankly he didn't want to do anything at this time except for running away.

Suguro wrote on Rin's hand.

Dont worry. He won't get you again. I promise.

Rin reached his hand out, grabbing hold of Suguro's hand. He brought it up to his chest, feeling the warmth of someone else's body temperature gave him some calm. Suguro smiled, though he didn't understand why Rin was holding both their hands to his chest. He ignored trying to figure out why. If his hand being close to Rin was helpful, he didn't care.

After an hour of this, the doctor came into the room, seeing that Rin was had improved immensely since hes been in there last. He placed the papers down, folding his arms. "I believe he is okay to go home. He just needs to be monitored and watched after since he is blind and deaf. I have some paperwork that will help with connection exercises to get him back to his original state. Some therapy is also recommended." He paused, smiling softly. "With these taken into consideration, he should be able to regain his ability to function, though keep in mind it will take up to a year to get him trusting of people, but most in this program have taken up to 5 years to be able to function like they used to. It is a lengthy program, but the results should speak for themselves. All the instructions and exercises are in this folder. I made two copies of everything in case they get lost or he had 2 caretakers. Whenever you want to leave, he may."

Yukio stood up, bowing at the doctor. "Thank you sir."

The doctor waved him off. "If anything changes or he does anything that concerns you, feel free to bring him back. He has a checkup in 6 months." He walked away from them, leaving the room. Yukio walked over to the folder, grabbing it from the table, he started flipping through it. The more he read it, the more he realized he is going to need a lot of patience for these tasks.

"This is going to be a lot of work." Yukio grumbled under his breath. Yes it was going to be a lot of work, but it's worth it. It's worth the trouble to see Rin return back to his old self.

And so the road to recovery starts now.
