"Thank you, Duncan." She looked to him to see his brow furrowed. She continued. "Is something wrong?
"No, no, no, sorry!" Courtney's look of confusion was opted out for relief at his reassurance. "I just-" She looked up at him as he stammered over his words. She was attentive and beautiful as ever. "…I honestly didn't think you even knew my name."
Courtney looked down as if the reason would be obvious, and she felt embarrassed to point it out to him. "I mean… it is sewn onto your jacket." She wrapped her fingers around her pen as she signed for the package. It was refreshing to see someone else new to their job; she just thought him being cute was a bonus.
Duncan immediately looked down onto the embroidered letters that made up his first name and cursed himself for his crush-inducing idiocy.
Her bashfulness encouraged him to venture out of their daily routine the next morning when he showed up with a dolly of boxes and a coffee for the beautiful brunette at the front desk.
