~The Stranger~

Narrator's POV

Still playing his video games, Kenma received a call from Kuroo. At first, Kenma ignored it, but since Kuroo would not stop being annoying by continuously calling, Kenma picked up. Kenma put his phone between his head and shoulders while playing his video game.

"Oya! Oya! Miss me Kenma?" Kuroo's voice rang.

"No and you're not allowed to come over," Kenma said.

"How do you know I want to come over?"

"Isn't that the reason why you always call me?"

"True. But still, can I-"

"No."

"Come on... I want to see Aiko,"

"You'll scare her off,"

"No I won't,"

"Fine but just this once-" Kenma didn't even get the chance to finish and Kuroo hung up. Kuroo left a message, 'I'm coming over' and Kenma sighed. Wait a minute, where's Aiko? The realisation that Aiko was not in his room hit him. Kenma began looking all over the house, but there was no sign of the silky fur cat. Then, Kenma noticed that one of his window was open. He quickly pop his head out and surveyed the surroundings.

At first, Kenma didn't notice anything strange, but then realised that a tree was right beside his window. Kenma's eyes widened for a second, then hit his head on the window ledge and groaned.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. "Great, it's Kuroo..." Kenma sighed as he trudged his feet to the door and opened it. "Hey Kenma!" Kuroo greeted. Kenma was about to let him in when he realised that there was somebody behind Kuroo. "Who's that?" Kenma glared at Kuroo while pointing to the person hiding behind Kuroo.

"Chill Kenma," Kuroo exclaimed while putting both hands infront while the person poked her head behind Kuroo.

Immediately, Kenma retrieved his finger back, he was shocked at what was right in front of him. A girl about his height was now standing beside Kuroo. Her wavy black silky hair fell gently above her chest and part of her fringe covered her forehead. She wore a red hoodie with white outlines and a dark blue skirt that hung just above her knees. But the one thing about her that attracted Kenma the most was her eyes. Her green eyes sparkled in the darkness and there was just something so deep in there that Kenma couldn't make out. He didn't know anything about her, he just knew she was beautiful.

Kenma jolted out of his thoughts when Kuroo snapped his fingers in front of him. "Down to earth, Kenma?" Kuroo questioned. "Kenma, don't be shy," Kuroo said, clearly smug.

"Who is she?" Kenma asked. "I found her wandering outside, I thought it would be very generous of me to invite her to your house." Kuroo replied as he entered. "Come on, Haruki."

Kenma sighed. Typical Kuroo, always trying to find a girl. The girl, whose name seemed to be Haruki, swept her hair behind her ear as she look down, clearly embarrassed. She bowed slightly towards Kenma. She looks worried. "Sorry for all the trouble." She murmured. "It's okay..." Kenma said.

"Kenma? Where's Aiko?" Kuroo asked.

"She ran out."

"WHAT?!"

"What?"

"Kenma, that's your cat and you lost her the same day you got her!"

"I didn't lost her, she just ran out. She'll be back."

"Also, I told you not to play video games at night!"

"You play video games?" Haruki's voice rang through the quarrel. Both Kenma and Kuroo looked at Haruki with puzzled expressions. "Sorry, I- I didn't mean to intrude..." she stammered.

"It's okay..." Kenma said. "If you want... you are welcomed to play my video games..."

Haruki's eyes brightened as she looked up with a small smile. Kenma can't help but to give a very very very small smile back. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Kuroo's jaw dropped in disbelief. Kenma can't help but feel a glimmer of satisfaction swelling inside him. With that, Kenma led Haruki into his room, handed her a console and started playing through the night without saying a word.
