"Vic, I still need to grab my gear." Andy protested as Vic pulled her by her arm towards the outside. Feeling the heat during her brief make out session, she'd let her gear fall to the floor.

"Well we'll wait until Mr. Sullivan has exited the building"

Andy sighed and mumbled "It's not like we'd do anything more in front of you."

"What was that?"

"Nothing" Andy hissed. She really was in a pissed off mood and everything just annoyed her.

Vic understood, so she wasn't offended or anything.

Robert now walked passed and he looked at Andy trying to determine what was going through her head. Vic though was obviously giving him the death stare. To be honest, she wasn't upset that she caught them; it's the fact that Andy was vulnerable now and he's taking advantage. But did he really though? She couldn't quite tell.

The fact Andy says 'she was coping' could suggest Andy initiated it.

Still, It's obvious Andy had been crying and anyone could tell she was hurting so maybe not the best time for him to get involved.

Andy was completely zoned out and just staring into space. "Andy, Andy" Vic called out as she shook her. "I really don't think you should be joining training today."

Maya joined them at that point "Yea Andy, you don't look good."

"Guys I'm good. I need the distraction anyways." She wasn't okay. How could she be? If she could live in her make believe reality where everything is perfect, why not? She just wanted to pretend it was all a bad dream and it would all go away if she continued normally.

The girls sighed "Andy"

"I'm just gonna go grab my gear" Andy spoke as she ran off.

"What should we do?" Maya asked turning to Vic.

"Be there for her. We can keep an eye on her and help out in anyway." Maya nodded and they stood waiting for Andy.

Meanwhile, Robert had joined the other recruits. They had started their ladder training.

He stood with his group as usual.

"Dude, where were you?" Jack asked.

"Accomplishing my mission."

"Well you work fast" Tom replied.

"Guess I have the magic that'll make anyone fall for me."

Ripley shook his head and rolled his eyes.

Several trainees had climbed up the ladder and thus a vigorous training started.

The girls were still waiting on Andy to get her gear. As much as they wanted to go search for her, they decided to wait. Soon enough she was walking towards them.

They moved towards the group and settled in the line.

The drills went smoothly and Andy was kept distracted. She occasionally felt the tears close but tried to keep them at bay to avoid looking weak.

It was now lunch time when they all saw the Chief walk in. Andy spotted him and she knew what was coming. With the tears starting to flow she got up and took off. Vic and Maya followed behind.

As they reached her bunk they could hear the sobs behind the door. They tried opening the door but realized it was locked.

"Andy, how about opening the door so me and Maya can come in"

"I just wanna be alone. I need to be alone" she said in between sobs.

They haven't seen Andy in emotional turmoil before so they don't know whether she needs to be forced to accept help or she'll reach out so she needs space for now. This was so sensitive and painful and they can't even fathom her pain. She's now an orphan.

The girls decided to not push it and decided to look for other ways to help in the meantime.

They went to go find the instructors to see if they knew and what the arrangements were. They figured they would've since the chief was there and it all happened the same day they spoke to Andy. A family member usually has to make the arrangements for a fallen firefighter and she was responsible for him.

As they headed to the trainers office they saw them coming out with Ripley.

"I was just about to come find you girls" one of the instructors spoke. "Do you know where Andrea is?"

"She's not handling things well sir, she's in her bunk" Vic answered.

"Thanks Victoria. Could you both come with us? She will need familiar faces to help her go through this process"

They all made their way through the auditorium, catching the eyes of almost all recruits.

"Well that's strange, I wonder what's up" Tom spoke as the chief passed with the others. He then looked at Robert "Bro what's up with that? First your girl gets called in by the trainers, now the chief is here and her friends are with him?"

Robert recalled Andy saying 'you'll hear about it soon' It must be pretty important for the chief to be here too.

"So?" Jack asked.

"Not sure man. She only told me I'd hear about it soon"

The guys sighed and shook their heads. Lucas though was silent as he had his own ideas. He's very observant so he catches on to things even though others may not be aware. He knew something bad had happened and it seems to be linked to Andy.

Jack and Tom got up deciding to go hit the gym. "We'll catch up" Robert told them.

"So no words from you today?" Robert asked. Usually Luke is on his case and giving him all his brotherly advice.

Luke chuckled "No man. You're on your own. All I will say is don't cause that girl pain."

Those were some good words, Robert knew it. Now though he was just more focused on finding out what was so secretive.

The Chief along with the others had by now reached Andy's bunk. After knocking twice they heard her "Guys I told you I'm good. Will you just leave me alone" She sighed and opened the door "See, I'm not fragile"

"Oh chief, hi"

"Herrera...I know it's not a good time, we have some things to go over."

Andy grabbed her phone and then followed them to the conference room. The entire time holding on to Vic and Maya's hand to gain whatever strength she could.

The entire meeting was pure torture. With every word uttered she felt her heart sink as it broke into a million pieces. He was gone just like that. She barely managed to hold herself together to let them know what should be at his funeral.

She could feel the anxiety coming over her and she needed to get away.

"I-I need air. I'm sorry" she said as she ran out. She couldn't breathe, despite the air being filled with oxygen.

The faces of the others in the room filled with concern. "We'll go find her Vic spoke"

"Yea, you got pretty much all the details right?" Maya added.

"Yes we should be good. You both take care of her, she'll need you now more than ever" The Chief responded.

Andy took off to her safe spot and completely broke down. She could hear her fathers words "Promise me you'll find happiness"

'Happiness? Happiness Dad? I was happy with you. Now how can I find happiness when I don't even have you?'

She was tired, she wanted to give up. How could the universe be so cruel. He was all she had. Sure she had other relatives but her dad was her rock, the one who always had her back and raised her to be the woman she is.

She laid on the cold floor and looked at the skies as the tears flowed. Completely out of it she hadn't heard the door open.

Robert watched her as she cried and he felt pity for her. She was really going through a rough time. After running several scenarios through his mind, there could only be one reason for her recent behavior. He sincerely hoped that wasn't the case though.

"Andrea" He said as he kneeled and looked at her.

Andy sat up and looked at him. She said nothing, she had no words.

"Come here" he spoke as he gently pulled her into his embrace. He just allowed her to cry in his arms.

Inside Vic and Andy were searching for Andy. Vic knowing who she saw her last her with, searched for him. She didn't know what it was but they always seem to linked together.

Not seeing him around she went to go find his friends. She spotted Lucas sitting reading, so she walked up to him pulling Maya with her "Where's Robert?"

Lucas looked up confused. "I'm trying to find Andy, Robert seems to be infatuated by her or something So I presume they are together. You're his friend, where would he hide out?" Vic continued.

"The roof, it's quiet. He think I don't know but I've seen him head there a few times."

"Thanks. He better not be doing anything crazy or I'll make him feel pain" she uttered as she and Maya took off.

By now Lucas was concerned and he hoped Robert really wasn't taking advantage of Andy when it's obvious something traumatic has happened in her life.

Quickly heading to the roof, as they opened the door they stopped in their tracks.

Vic sighed in relief but her heart broke. Robert was holding Andy in his arms as she cried.

After a while Maya decided it was enough. "Hey Andy, we need to go."

"Go where?" She said between sobs.

"Home, we're gonna bring you home" Hearing those words she cried even more.

"Or we could bring you to a family member" Maya quickly added

Andy held on to Robert's short even tighter. He whispered "Andrea, I know this is hard. You've gotta go though. You need your family and remember our deal; you've got a rep to keep so no one can see you like this"

Andy shook her head confirming she'd go.

"Okay, I'll take you down." He said as looked at Vic for some sort of approval, she was already not fond of him. She agreed.

He gently eased himself up lifting Andy up bridal style, as they all headed for the door to head down.

They opened the door to see Lucas heading to them. "Guess were going down" he said as he made a U-turn.

Maya ran to Andy's room where she grabbed the essentials she'll need to bring back home. Lucas had gone to update the trainers and the Chief that Andy would be heading home, while the others headed to her car.

Robert laid her down in the car and closed the door.

"Thanks for being there for her" Vic said as she pat Robert on the back.

He smiled "If I may ask, what happened?"

"Her dad died and she was there"

It hit Robert, he had presumed something was wrong but this. Now everything made sense; why she never came back, why she cried so much and her choice of words. He even got why Vic was so pissed at him, he definitely gave off the vibe he was taking advantage of her. "I didn't know it was that bad. If you guys need help, I'll be available"

Vic told him thanks and soon enough Maya came so they got settled and drove off. They would need to get a family member to stay with Andy if things get bad since they were only planning to stay the night.

It was going to be a long week for everyone.
