The next morning came quickly. Maggie swore she'd only gotten an hour of sleep. She stayed up all night regretting what she had done to Ice bear.
She rose out of the bear-sized bed, and crept slowly to the kitchen. When she got there, all three of the bears were waiting for her.
"Hey Maggie." Panda said, waving to her with his hand.
"Did you sleep well?" Grizz asked, motioning with his hand for her to sit down.
"Yeah, I slept fine, thank you." She said.
She looked over at Ice bear in guilt.
"What's wrong?" Grizz asked her, seeing that she looked upset.
"I just...did something, wrong, last night." She said, trying to find the right words.
"Well, what did you do?" Grizz asked.
"I just...hurt him." She said, staring down at the table.
"Ice bear is not hurt." Ice bear said. "Just sore."
"What'd you do to him?" Panda asked worriedly.
"Ice bear put cold hand on Maggie's shoulder, Maggie flipped Ice bear." Ice bear said.
Maggie looked down at the table, tears forming in her eyes. Was she a bad person? She wanted to disappear.
"Wow, how did you get so strong?" Grizz asked, amazed.
"Ice bear was impressed." Ice bear stated.
"I...I'm sorry." She said, crying now. She looked over at Ice bear with big brown eyes.
That's when Ice bear felt a strong sense of deja vu. Like he'd seen her eyes somewhere before. But he wondered where. It wasn't an uncommon eye color. It was just the spirit in them that seemed familiar.
"Maggie did nothing wrong." Ice bear said, coming up to her. "Ice bear, should not have snuck up on you."
"It was a simple act of self defense." Grizz said.
"I've, never, hurt, anyone before." The cub said.
"Ice bear forgives you." Ice bear said, patting her on the shoulder.
"Panda, your being very quiet." Grizz said.
"Grizz, can I talk to you?" Panda asked. "Alone."
"Sure." Grizz said, walking into the living room with his younger brother.
"What's wrong?" Grizz asked.
"Do you think it's a good idea to keep letting her stay here?" Panda asked, giving a worried glance at the kitchen.
"Sure, what's wrong with her?" Grizz asked.
"I just...what if she hurts lil bro again?" Panda asked. "She didn't even know she had that sort of strength."
"It was an accident pan." Grizz said, patting his striped brother on the shoulder.
"That's why I'm worried, Grizz." Panda said.
As they stepped back into the kitchen, they found Ice bear and Maggie leaning over the stove.
"Hey guys, whatcha doin?" Grizz asked, hands behind his back.
Ice bear turned around, eyes wide with shock. Grizz saw that the entire kitchen had been cleaned and that Maggie was currently scrubbing down the stove top.
"Maggie's strength, is helping Ice bear clean the kitchen." Ice bear said, still shocked at how the grease and grime was sliding from the stove top.
"Wow Mags, where did you learn how to clean?" Grizz asked.
"I don't know." Maggie said, still scrubbing the stove. "I guess it just comes naturally to me."
"I've never seen the kitchen so clean." Panda said in amazement.
"Thanks." Maggie said, blushing a little.
Everyone was in awe at how clean the kitchen looked, when Grizz thought of something panda had said.
"She didn't even know she had that sort of strength."
"What else doesn't she know?" He thought.
"Hey Maggie, do you still have that piece of paper?" He asked the young cub.
"Yeah, be right back." She said, hopping off the stove and running to Grizz's room.
As soon as she returned, Grizz gave her a worried glance. She was sweating.
"Here." She said, handing him the paper. She forced a smile to her face and sat down in Grizz's chair, panting.
"Are you okay?" Panda asked her. Seeing her sweating like this got him worried. It wasn't normal to start sweating out of nowhere like that.
"Yeah, I'm fine." She said. She was panting even more now, and Panda noticed.
"Maybe you should rest for a bit." He said. "Maybe you over-"
He was cut off as Maggie suddenly passed out, head hitting the table with a thud.
