As the leaves on the trees surrounding the village began to turn a slightly off shade of green Rin and Kokaku at last decided to combine households with Rin moving in with him.

Kagome had made an effort not to go over the top but had no filter to contain her enthusiasm. She seemed happier than the couple were. Naturally she had offered up both hers and Sesshomarus help to move her things.

Kagome never would had if it had been anyone else but she knew that when it came to Rin Sesshomaru would never say no.

"Just ask him to carry the heavy stuff when he gets here." Kagome said her arms full of the many, many kimonos Sesshomaru had gifted Rin over the years.

"I can't just ask him." She replied. "He is my lord, who am I to tell him what to do?"

"Alright then, as his girlfriend I'll tell him what to do."

"To be fair if Kohaku were here then we wouldn't have to bother Lord Sesshomaru."

"Rin, Sesshomaru would lasso the moon and give it you if you asked him for it." Kagome laughed out. "He can move your heavy cooking pot."

"Speaking of, if you do not mind me asking Kagome, how is your courtship going?" Rin asked as they crossed the village to Kohakus domicile.

"Great. Things are progressing at a comfortable pace." She replied. "Honestly even though I was away from Inuyasha for three years it still seems like a whirlwind relationship. There was just so much going on at the time, I guess our wires got crossed."

"Huh?" Rin questioned uncertain of what she meant.

"We should have just stayed friends."

"If you had been then maybe you would have ended up with Lord Sesshomaru sooner."

"I don't know, maybe." Kagome pondered. "I like where I am right now in my life so I guess it all worked out for the best."

Another couple of trips back and forth with their arms full of Rins belongings and Kagome felt spent.

"I never realized how many things I had." Rin said with a small laugh.

"Moving is never fun Rin. What's worse is the unpacking and putting everything away."

"Oh, I still have to put it all away." Rin lamented to herself.

"I can help you." Kagome said. "I'll run back over to your place and make sure we got everything we can grab."

"Thank you Kagome."

"No prob. Be right back." Kagome jogged the short distance to Rins hut seeing Sesshomaru exit hers. "Oh hey!"

"Hello Kagome." He examined the open door to Rins and furrowed his brows.

"Rin is moving in with Kohaku." She squeaked out. "Which means that they're married! I mean, isn't it sweet? Childhood sweethearts."

"Hm."

"Would you mind grabbing that big pot there on the hearth? We can't move it and Kohakus away."

Sesshomaru remained silent as he followed her to where Rin stood in the door way.

"Oh thank you my lord!" She gushed and moved aside as Sesshomaru walked into the hut.

"Rin, a word." He said softly to her.

"Yes my lord."

Kagome didn't mean to pry but by nature she was an eavesdropper, she couldn't help herself. She blamed the era she was born in for her somewhat nosey attitude.

She stood far enough away as to maybe not rouse suspicion.

"Rin, I want you to know that even though you have a mate to provide for you, I am still here." Sesshomaru said. "If there is ever anything that you may want for or need just ask and I will procure it for you."

"Lord Sesshomaru, you have always been so good to me. I thank you so very much." She said thoughtfully. "I can never repay you for any of it."

"You already have." He responded. "More than you will ever know." As Sesshomaru made his way out of the hut Kagome stared off as if she were daydreaming.

In actuality she was practically in tears. She took the arm Sesshomaru offered her and walked back towards her hut. Once inside Kagome made some tea and sat next to him on the tatami mats.

"I remember when they were children." She mused. "Rin was so cute and so tiny. Kohaku had all those freckles across his nose and cheeks, it seems like it was only yesterday."

"Indeed." Sesshomaru agreed. "I never knew how quickly human children grew until they reached the age of maturity"

"Now they're living together, married..."

"With child." Sesshomaru said softly.

"Wait, what?"

"Rin is pregnant."

"Did she tell you that?" Kagome asked. She hadn't heard Rin say that, maybe she whispered it to him?

"I highly doubt Rin is aware." He said staring into the flames of the hearth. "It is still very early on."

"Then how do you know?"

"I can smell it on her." He said plain as day.

"Right." Kagome said taking a sip of her tea.

"It should not be a sudden revelation to you." He turned his attention towards her. "If I am not mistaken doesn't Inuyasha have a keen sense of smell?"

"Yeah, he does and he's a half demon. So I mean I can only imagine you being a full demon how much more acute your senses must be."

"Significantly more accurate."

"What else can you smell?" Kagome eyed him suddenly feeling extremely self conscious. "Like, about...me?"

"Physically?"

"Oh god."

"That was how I found you the day you injured your leg." He turned more to her and she did the same placing her cup down. "I was near the village to visit with Rin. I smelled your tears which made me sense your anguish. It did not concern me so I continued on until I could smell your blood."

"That was embarrassing." Kagome smirked. "I'm glad though. If it hadn't happened then I don't think we would be together." She took both of his hands in hers.

"Probably not." He brought both her hands to his lips kissing them gently.
