Chapter 3: 36 Bowls, a scroll and Threads

As Naruto and Jiraiya left Naruto's old apartment Jiraiya pondered on the child's lack of responsibility. "Naruto" called out Jiraiya while pointing towards the doorknob with his right index finger. "Hm, what's wrong Sensei ?" Questioned Naruto. "Who's gonna lock the door, what if someone breaks in and steals something.". "What can they possibly steal Sensei….." it was then when the realization struck Naruto which shocked him beyond recovery "my RAMEN!" said Naruto as he quickly rushed to lock the door.

Jiraiya couldn't help but think of Kushina at the boys' love for Ramen. "Okay Naruto, let's go and get some new threads.". "Threads?", said Naruto. "It's a metaphor kid, it means that we will be getting you some new clothes." "Me..met..meta..whatever sensei let's go and show that old man who is with me this time."

"What old man?" asked Jiraiya

"The old man at the Konoha special fabs, he always stares at me and says that he will give me a special price and then instead of reducing it he doubles it up."

Jiraiya's patience was being tested again and again. "What about the other places ?"

"They just yell at me so I go away. The only time I could get in was when I forced Jiji to come with me"

The fact that Naruto convinced Hiruzen to go shopping with him was a feat only Biwako herself could have achieved.

Sometime later. Somewhere in Konoha.

As Jiraiya and Naruto were walking down the aisle, Jiraiya's curiosity got the better of him and he ended up asking "Naruto, the kids u mentioned earlier, are they your friends, do they ever treat you the same way the other villagers do and what are their full names?"

Naruto, too happy to argue against any of his master's wishes simply answered "Well they are Shikamaru Nara, Choji Achimiki, Ino Yamanaka, Sakura Harumo, Kiba Inuzuka, Shino Aburame, and Sasuke Uchiha, they don't treat me the same as the villagers but Sakura pushes me away sometimes but only around Sasuke, I don't know what is with him, whenever he is around both Sakura and Ino keep going Sasuke this and Sasuke that. I heard he can breathe fire, but maybe that's just a rumor."

'So the Noble clans don't seem to be minding him. Well, that's only natural. The leaders may even know the truth and his value.'

"Well Naruto, since Sasuke is from the Uchiha that may not be just a rumor."

"What, can you do it too sensei?"

"Yes," said Jiraiya proudly with a smirk on his face.

"Can you teach me to it too." said an excited Naruto.

"Yes, but not now before that, you must learn a few different things"

"Heh, but why sensei why can't I learn all the cool things first?"

"Do you think tree climbing and water walking isn't cool?" asked Jiraiya.

"Yes Sensei when do we start, is it hard, can I climb trees and walk on water and breathe fire at the same time?" asked an excited Naruto.

"We will start all that when you start academy before, before that there are a few things that need to be worked upon like pronouncing Akimichi correctly."

"But.."

"No buts"

All of Naruto's excitement seemed to have vanished but it all came back just as they entered Konoha special fabs.

The workers at the shop were not happy to see Naruto but chose to remain silent when Jiraiya tagged along with his hand on Naruto's shoulder.

As Naruto went around picking the same outfit as his just larger Jiraiya's eyes fell upon a T-shirt that looked awfully similar to the kimono which he sported in his academy days. "Hey Naruto, wanna try this out," said Jiraiya. Naruto took a look at the T-shirt and decided to take it.

Sometime later, outside Konoha special fabs

"So, sensei where will we move in now?" asked Naruto. "Why don't you leave that to me Naruto," suggested Jiraiya. "But sensei if it's my...our house shouldn't I see it as well" objected Naruto. "You have got a point but don't worry I will let u have a say in it."

Naruto tried to object but sighed in defeat. "Lunch," said both as their stomachs growled.

"Ramen"

"Okay"

"Bills on you Tab," said Naruto as he dashed towards his favorite place in the whole wide world. When he reached Ichiraku he saw Jiraiya was already there. "Hey, how did you reach here before me. "They don't call me Jiraiya of the sannin for no reason." Answered Jiraiya.

90mins and 24bowls of Ramen later

"That's all the money I got from the last mission," said Jiraiya teary-eyed. "Can't wait to get home and Dream Ramen" declared Naruto completely ignoring Jiraiyas's plea. "Naruto, why don't you go ahead Naruto, I have something else for you, I will show it when I get back to your apartment".

"What is it, another gift for your beloved student,?" asked Naruto. 'Where did that come from' thought Jiraiya, "I will tell you when we get to it."

"Okay then, see ya," said Naruto as he bolted off.

As Naruto headed home he saw an Anbu who he instantly recognized as Kinoe. Kinoe noticed Naruto as he tiptoed towards him.

"So, how was your day Naruto?" asked Kinoe as he smiled behind his Anbu mask.

"Very good, better than the last one at least. I ate 36 bowls of ramen and got a new sensei who bought me some clothes and Jiji also gave me this wrapped package, tho I don't know what's inside."

"Looks like you had fun Naruto-" Kinoe was cut off by another Anbu who approached them, "It's time Kinoe," said the new Anbu.

"Well I gotta go Naruto, see ya later," said Kinoe as he dashed off.

Sometime Later. Naruto's apartment

As Naruto frantically opened his door and dashed to his couch to see what his Jiji has given him this year. Inside the wrapped package was a plain cardboard box. Inside was a scroll and a chimpanzee with drums in between its feet and drumsticks in its hands and a Hokage hat.

"What's up with this scroll?" said Naruto, to no one in particular.

Meanwhile in the Uchiha district

"Father are you sure you want me to do this ?"

A/N : That was chap3. Don't worry about the father/son in the Uchiha district or should you. Also, sorry for this low effort short episode. I deleted the previous ch bcz of some reviews and my reasons as well.
