Do we like the Lexi/Stefan friendship and backstory? I wanted a little plot twist in there so yes they did try to date but you'll soon find out why. I think this chapter we'll be introducing some more characters? Maybe Jenna because I love her and idk if I want Damon in this or not
P.s how cute was the Stexi moment at the end of Chapter 2? haha it was nice to write

Stefan and Lexi were exhausted by the time they got to the airport and went through all of the security procedures but they didn't want to rest just yet
"Woah'' Lexi ran around the building admiring how big and beautiful it is. "I've seen airports but none like this'' she adds. She ran up to a big fountain, goggling at the rainbow that glistened in the water as it fell and hummed pleasantly at the sound of the waterfall
Stefan watched his friend from afar, loving that she's here with him and no one else. He's broken out of his thoughts by an announcement "This is a final boarding call for flight 67A to final checks are being completed and the captain will order for the aircraft to close in approximately 5 minutes. I repeat this is a final boarding call for flight 67A to Virginia. Thank you" Lexi turned toward Stefan, panic on both of their faces before they both took off
Stefan stopped for Lexi and grabbed her hand, pulling her along with him. He apologized multiple times for bumping into people and knocking them down. He had people trying to stop him for pictures and an autograph but he apologized quickly after letting them know that he can't miss his flight
"We're here" Stefan bent over, placing his hands on his knees and dramatically struggled to catch his breath
Lexi looked at him then giggled at his dramatics "Hello we're here for flight 67A to Virginia" she pulled the tickets out of her purse and handed them to the young lady along with their passports and ID. Once they were done they boarded just before the plane closed up for good
"I need a fat nap and a hot towel after that marathon I just ran" Stefan half joked with a chuckle, sitting down and closing his eyes
She shook her head and took her seat next to him "you're crazy Stef"
he opened one eye and looked at her "Mystic Falls here we come"
"Here we come" she repeated
Caroline knocks on the door and stands there waiting for someone to answer. Elena hasn't been answering her phone and she has a huge surprise for her. She walks to the back, spotting Miranda working on some pretty pink, vibrant flowers she yells "Hey Mrs.G!" Miranda doesn't turn around which kind of scares Caroline a little because after the incident she's always been so alert. She walks up and taps Miranda on the shoulder "Mrs.G" she tries again
Miranda jumps up and grabs her shovel, holding it up to defend herself against whoever it is behind her. Caroline backs up and puts her hands up as if surrendering. Miranda notices that it's Caroline and immediately drops the shovel "Oh god" she looks at the shovel then back to Caroline "Oh god" she repeats, mortified at her actions "I am so so sorry sweetie" she apologizes while embarrassingly putting her head down
Caroline giggles, causing Miranda to quickly look up and lift an eyebrow "It's okay , I actually got worried when you didn't jump up with the shovel" Miranda laughs then walks toward Caroline, pulling her into a big hug
"It's nice to see you Caroline, what brings you around?" Miranda asked while walking back to her garden and continuing to tend to her flowers. Caroline follows as she explains that she has had a big surprise planned for Elena but she hasn't been answering the phone. Miranda looks up, putting a hand above her eyes to shield from the sun "she hasn't come out of her room since our fight" Miranda answers honestly
Caroline furrows her brows in confusion. Elena and Miranda never fought since the incident and if they did it would be resolved not even two seconds later "Oh?" she decided not to ask any questions because it's none of her business and besides Elena would tell her anyways. "Is it okay if I go up?" she asked after a long silence
"Of course of course" Miranda flicked her wrist toward the door before smiling softly "it was nice seeing you"
"It was nice seeing you too Mrs.G" she said before heading back into the house, grabbing a water bottle before marching upstairs

"Elena I know you're in there" Caroline thought it would be best not to barge in although Elena has no locks on her door, she still needs to give her some space. She can hear some shuffling of papers and some stuff being thrown into the closet
"uh come in" Elena calls out. Caroline walks into the room, finding Elena curled up in a ball on her bed surrounded by multiple bits of paper and what looks like a doll that was taken apart. She walked to the bed and picked up one of the pieces of paper, trying to figure out what it is
She strides to the other side of the room and slides her hand down the bare walls "Elena what the hell happened?" Caroline questioned while digging through the trash bin that was full of ripped up Stefan Salvatore posters and cut up team Stefan t-shirts. Elena didn't answer, she just laid there hoping that Caroline would leave soon
"Get the fuck up Elena!" Caroline shouted loud enough for the neighbors to hear. Elena quickly sat up and eyed Caroline surprisingly. Caroline never uses words like that, she'll say hell and damn once in a while but that word never
Elena flung her feet over the side of the bed "I'm sorry, okay? Now leave" she attempted to lay back but Caroline rushed over and grabbed her by the wrist, pulling her out the door and down the stairs to the living room. Elena kicked and screamed trying to put up a fight but Caroline wasn't having it. Once they were in the living room she put Elena down then pushed her onto the couch
"speak" she crossed her arms over her chest and patiently waited. After a few minutes she got really annoyed, she was tempted to leave but that's what Elena wants. "fine I'll ask your mom" Caroline looks away from Elena and looks toward the sliding glass door "Mrs-" Elena cuts her off before she could finish
"okay okay" Elena hates when her mom tells what happens in the arguments because from what Elena could gather she always tries to make herself sound right "I was telling her about how Stefan was coming to Mystic Falls and I was all excited about how I was going to meet him but of course mom had to go and ruin it by telling me I'm just a normal girl and I should stop fangirling because only people whose dads didn't kill themselves could" Caroline rolled her eyes at Elena's exaggeration. She knows that Mrs.G didn't say that, Elena just read it like that "I'm done being a fangirl, I'm done with everything that has to do with Stefan Salvatore because obviously I'm not allowed to admire people'' she said with a hint of sarcasm toward the end
Elena leaned back on the couch and crossed her arms "I hate this shit" Caroline smiled reassuringly then went to sit next to Elena
"hate what?" she wrapped an arm around Elena to comfort her
"I hate that my dad hated this family so much that he would rather take his own life than leave and I hate that I had to listen to music and relate to someone who'll never know that I'm alive because my family decided to push me away as if it wasn't a loss for me too" silent tears rolled down Elena's cheeks as she spoke
Caroline's look softened as she listened to Elena cry "Elena he didn't hate you guys, he loved you so much" Elena stiffened before she quickly jumped up
"How would you know!?" Elena shouted "you didn't know him, I barely even knew him before he realized that I wasn't good enough, that this wasn't good enough" she fanned her arms out to point out the house "he never cared because if he did then dying wouldn't have been so easy" Caroline lowered her head to try and blink back her tears
She looks back up "Elena I-" Elena glared at Caroline once more "stop, please stop. I don't know why you're here but please go home" Elena inhaled sharply and tried to catch falling tears "you just make everything worse" she ran past the couch and stomped back up the stairs, slamming her door and knocking down a few picture frames
Caroline sighed then pushed herself off of the couch. She walked up the stairs and stopped at Elena's door. She lifted her hand to knock but thought better of it. She took two bookmark looking slips of paper out of her pocket and slid them under the door "just in case you change your mind"
Elena sat on her bed for hours until she finally decided to get back up to see what Caroline slid under the door.. She picked up the two papers and read them over, her eyes widening in surprise
Mystic High schools 30th annual fundraiser
live performance by Stefan Salvatore and Lexi Branson
2pm to 8pm - Tuesday the 20th
She put the papers on her desk, grabbed her phone and dialed Caroline. The phone rang three times before Caroline's tired voice answered "hello"
"Did I wake you up?" Elena questioned
"No no it's fine what's up?" Caroline honestly thought that Elena wasn't going to call her or talk to her for a while. She didn't think that she said anything wrong but to Elena she did
Elena bit her bottom lip nervously and used her unoccupied hand to twirl her hair. She didn't know what to say or how to apologize
"Elena?" Caroline moved the phone away from her ear to check if the call disconnected but it didn't so she put it back
"I'm uh I'm sorry for being so rude earlier" Caroline's eyes widened in shock as she sat up in her bed
"What?" she whispered into the phone
"I'm sorry" Elena said more confidently than the last time "I just have a hard time dealing with stuff like that" she paused and exhaled loudly "I know he loved us or me at least it's just hard to believe"
Caroline inhales "I know and I'll be here for you all the time, okay?" Caroline knows how much Elena struggles with her dad's death, that's why she didn't take her outburst to heart because even though she did a lot of yelling she was still showing some type of emotion toward the situation, which hasn't happened in years
Elena nods to herself "thanks Care for this and the uhm tickets" she feels a slight smile forming on her lips. "How could I try to give up Stefan Salvatore" she asks but mostly to herself
Caroline giggles "I was thinking, is she friggin crazy?"
Elena let's out a much needed laugh "not crazy enough to do that" she tries to stifle a yawn but was unsuccessful at doing so
"Reports say he gets in tomorrow so get some rest" Caroline said after she heard Elena trying to keep her yawn quiet
"Will do" Elena bites her lip nervously again "thank you for being an amazing best friend, I love you"
"I love you too 'Lena" after a quick comfortable silence Caroline hung up the phone. Elena placed her phone back on to the dresser and went to bed
I promise they are going to meet each other soon, I just want you guys to see what's happening with both Elena and Stefan before they do meet up. They'll officially meet in the next chapter
