Aura hummed as they soared through the air. The wind on their face was extremely calming. Pulling out Mors, they caught themself on a tree. Their sword dug in as they spun with the momentum all the way to the bottom. Not even moments after landing, a tree fell before them. The giantess Niela landed. Her sweet and innocent face looking around before spotting Aura. A smile encompassed her lips and eyes softened even more.

"I suppose you're my partner." She softly said as she marched up to him.

"Looks like it. I will have to warn you, I can only activate my weapon for ten minutes so you might end up doing a lot more work than me." Aura informed her.

"That's fine. Just save your strength for when we need it most." Niel responded to him before lifting her massive two handed ax.

Aura nodded and began to lead the way. She was a little surprised with how different he was in a battlefield perspective. They had been told the forest was full of grimm and he seemed ready to take on the world. Yet when in a social environment he was so taken back and shy it made him adorable. This though was a nice change for her. Following his lead, the three walked. That was until they came across Ursa's. The bear grimm snarled and roared at them. Aura didn't need their imperial arms to be activated to fight these creatures. While he took on one, Niela fought two. Her massive ax cutting through one quickly. The other came barreling towards her just for her ax to switch to a chainsaw that ripped through the bear. When she looked towards Aura, she watched as his sword ripped straight through the claws of the pair and through the other end. It was a rather fast fight. A warm up at best. He looked towards her and smiled, giving her a thumbs up that they were alright. She nodded happily as they continued their adventure to find some kind of relic.

Elsewhere, the Night Raid hideout. Akame sat down eating Sheele's and Mine's bowl of rice after finishing her own. Tatsumi and Leone stared at the assassin girl in shock that she finished three rice bowls in under a minute. No matter how many times they see it, they will never get used to it. Tatsumi, a young man of average height with green eyes and medium length brown hair with a cowlick that falls with its weight. He wore a white, high collar jacket over a tan sweater vest, a pair of black pants, brown gloves and combat boots. On his back was Incursio's key, a short sword with a chain-link tassel at the hilt, in its sheath. She was about to start on her fourth bowl of rice when Chelsea came into the room panting, clearly having run all the way back down to get here.

"Chelsea? What's the rush? Akame hasn't eaten your breakfast yet." Leone leaned back in her chair.

"Aura. They're in the exam." She held her chest as she informed them.

Akame's red eyes turned from her food to her upon hearing that name. "Then I shall retrieve him." She got up and prepared to headout.

"Wow now." Leone grabbed Akame by the collar.

"What are you doing?" She asked with a deadpan stare.

"We can't just interrupt the school's initiation. We take him out now, then he'd never be accepted in. Besides we had a deal with the headmaster in order to have this hideout." Akame thought it through before nodding. "Good. That said, there's nothing stopping us from going up there and watching the initiation."

Akame nodded and followed Leone with Chelsea and Tatsumi quickly behind them. Back with Aura, he cleaved a boarbatusk in two. Niela followed behind launching one of the other boarbatusks through the air like a batter would a ball. So far it was just a bunch of easy small grimm. The biggest thing they saw so far was a Ursa and those didn't exactly do much to the two.

"This is supposed to be an initiation right? Why is it so easy?" Aura asked, kinda disappointed by the lack of challenge.

"Well we are students. I suppose anything harder would be a bit too challenging for us." Niela replied.

"Yeah. I suppose so. Still it wouldn't hurt if…."

"RUN!" Aura was interrupted by a scream.

"What the?"

They turned to see Ellie and Ophelia running from an absolutely gigantic blind worm. The massive grimm burrowing after the two. Aura gulped briefly with Niela before joining the two in their escape. Running as fast as they could from the blind worm was easier said than done. That thing was fast and it was not letting any of them get away.

"What did you two do to make it angry!?" Aura yelled at them.

"She stabbed it thinking its outer hide was a wall she could pry open to find the relics." Ellie responded almost emotionlessly.

"Less talking, more running!" Ophelia yelled back as she ran faster.

The group of four exited the forest and into a clearing with a small set of ruins. They weren't alone here. There was Ruby and Weiss. Yang and another girl. She had fair skin and black hair with amber eyes. Wearing a black, buttoned vest with coattails and a single silver button on the front. Underneath this is a white, sleeveless, high necked, crop undershirt and white shorts with a zipper on the front of each leg. Black low-heeled boots and full stockings with a color gradation of black to purple at her ankles. On her left arm is a black detached sleeve with a silver cuff around her bicep, and black ribbons are wrapped around both forearms. A small loose black scarf is wrapped around her neck. There was a single black ribbon atop her head and purple eyeshadow in a cats eye style. Then there was a girl riding on an Ursa. Turquoise eyes and orange hair. A collared black sleeveless vest, with a blue central front section with red accents. Under the vest, she wore a white sleeveless t-shirt with a heart-shaped cutout above her breast line in the center accompanied with a pair of white detached sleeves on each arm. Short pink skirt with a single white layer under it. White ankle boots sport pink soles with part of her emblem, the lighting bolt, on them and low heels with pink laces, the tops are folded over revealing the pink lining. Silver armor piece that wraps around the waist, under her breasts and around the back on her neck with metal connecting each piece together at the front.

Following behind her was a man with long black hair and a magenta streak on the left. His eyes matched this color. A dark green, diagonally-buttoned, long-sleeved tailcoat that is red on the inside, with black and gold trimming and pink cuffs. The trimming goes down the right side of his torso and forms a black collar. Black, long-sleeved shirt beneath the suit and light-tan pants with black shoes. His hair back in a low ponytail. There was another girl that was rather athletically built. Her red hair tied back in a ponytail that reached her waist. Light green eyeshadow around the far upper corners of her green eyes. Wearing a brown overbust corset with a vertical strip of lighter brown in the center. An elastic black A-line mini skirt and brown opera-length gloves on both arms. A red ankle-length sash that wrapped around her skirt. There was a small circular bronze plate on her right hip opposite two pouches with both connected to a belt. Atop her head was a brown circlet adorned with a pair of small, green, teardrop-shaped emeralds on thin chains. Large bronze gorget around her neck and a bronze bracelet on the upper half of her left arm. She had elaborate bronze greaves that started below her mid-thigh before continuing downwards into her boots as well as a pair of cuisses that began mid-thigh and ended slightly above her knees. A bronze bracer on her left arm. Her high-heeled boots were brown with bronze trim, matching her skirt and sleeves and reaching up to mid-calf.

There was one more girl with them being chased by a Deathstalker. She had fair skin and short blonde hair with dark blue eyes. Black short-sleeved hoodie with detached reddish-orange sleeves. Covering their hoodie is a white diamond-shaped chest plate cut off above her lower abdomen, and placed over her shoulders are a pair of white spaulders with rerebraces set under them. Below, she wears blue jeans with a white patch placed on the left knee and black sneakers which have "left" and "right" written in black on the shoes' soles. Two belts criss crossing her waist, both of different shades of brown, with a pair of small pouches on them. Brown wrist-length gloves with exposed fingertips and small metal plates over the back. Yang had seen enough chaos already.

"Ugh! I can't take it anymore! Can everyone chill out for two seconds before something crazy happens!" Yang yelled, her eyes going from lilac to red and hair becoming fiery briefly.

Her breathing was sped up and as much as Aura wanted to oblige, the grimm chasing was not so accommodating. "Oh forget it." Aura skidded to a stop as the other three passed him.

"Aura?!" His partner called out in confusion.

As the blind worm surfaced, Aura stabbed the ground with his sword. "MORS!"

The creature, if not for being half buried, would have been tossed back by the strong winds. Nearby grimm began to run away, having enough sense of self perseverance to not get close. Behind Aura a shadowy creature appeared. Its head covered in bone-like protrusions that made it appear as if its skull was on the outside. A fanged maw opened, oozing a black cloud that turned the grass around Aura into a purple sludge. Moving forward, this creature encompassed Aura's body. A black armor and skull helmet. Red glowing eyes shined as the torn and tattered scarf flowed free around their neck. Reeling back their right arm, they gave the creature a powerful right hook that uprooted the rest of its hundred foot body. Blood splattering from the sheer impact of the blow and landing. Extending his right hand out to right, a scythe began to appear giving them the true look of the personification of death. Ruby's eyes shined brightly with Yang's. The Nevermore and Deathstalker, although ancient and powerful, had a greater sense of self perseverance than the blind worm did. They made their escape during the chaos and awe of the armor. In those thirty seconds, was when everyone watching knew the true might of a teigu.

As the armor dissipated Aura stumbled a little, clearly overestimating his ability to keep the armor up. He remembered being able to hold it up for maybe thirty minutes. Now he'd be lucky if he made it for five minutes. His small stumble didn't go unnoticed by Ruby. In a burst of petals she appeared beside them to hold them. Despite their size and body, they were incredibly light.. Aura smiled down at her. She couldn't help but smile at him, not even noticing the tiny bit of blush on her cheeks.

"Thanks. Ruby. I guess I overestimated my abilities with Mors." Aura admitted.

"That's alright. As long as you're alright is the important thing right?" She replied happily as he finally regained his footing.

"Yeah I guess so. Though if those are the relics, then I am a little upset that we risked our lives for chess pieces."

Aura stared at the 'relics' with slight disdain. They risked their lives for chess pieces all to get into one school. This better be a pretty good school if this is what it takes to get in, was all he could think of. His team gathered, retrieving the black king, chosen by Aura. Ophelia doing the same for her little team. The group of twelve then made their way back to the cliff. Once at the top, Aura was greeted by the sight of Akame and a middle-aged man with tousled silver hair and thin brown eyes. He had a light complexion and sharp facial features. Black eyebrows and shaded glass spectacles and a small, purple, cross-shaped pin on the cowl around his neck. His outfit consisted of an unzipped black suit over a dark green, buttoned vest and green shirt. He also wore black trouser shoes and long, dark-green pants. A cane in one hand and a mug with Beacon academy's emblem in the other. The smell of hot cocoa was prevalent from the mug he carried. Akame wasn't alone either surprisingly. Tatsumi, Leone, and Chelsea were with her. All of which watched what had happened down there. Aura shifted in place now that they were off the battlefield, going from what they were to the shy kid in school again.

"Um. We have the relics." They all showed their respective relics to Ozpin.

The headmaster nodded before looking at Aura. "You have something to discuss with your friend here before the ceremony." He motioned to Akame before walking off.

Aura stood there as the others took the headmasters hint. When they were alone, Aura wasted no time in hugging Akame much to the assassin girl's surprise. "Thank you so much for remembering to find me. And thank you. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't be here right now with all these new friends."

Akame blushed, really uncertain of what to say. As she gathered her thoughts, she knew the biggest thing she wanted to speak of. "The Ourburgh clan."

"Oh. You wonder why you're with Night Raid with them alive. You want my answer?….I got no clue. I never used the gatekeeper trump card EVER."

"S-So that talks about a heavy price to pay?"

"All a lie. Well mostly. I knew we'd take the bodies of our alternate selves and that was it. I know now though, that capabilities are altered to fit our alternate self. In my case, me ten years ago. I have the knowledge of me of that time and future, but the stamina of a seventeen year old."

Upon hearing this, Akame looked at her body. Being an assassin, she was always trying to keep in peak condition, but she did feel it. She was in a much younger body compared to what she was in when she found Aura. However this didn't change much of her capabilities. "So we not only lost our current selfs memories, but we lost the capabilities of our older self."

"That sums it up. Though it's also fair to assume that your enemies are alive as well. Along with your friends."

She squeezed her chest. The memory of such people like Kurome and Esdeath comes to mind. "If that's the case I'll kill them again."

"Or would be able to if not for the whole different reality. Who knows who else is out there."

"….Then what do we do?" She asked, trying to understand the situation they were in.

"We? I go to school now. You probably have Night Raid things to do." Aura responded nervously, already worrying what would happen to Akame.

"I see." She nodded.

As she prepared to leave, Aura called her. "Get yourself a scroll. It's easy to keep in contact that way and to find out more about the world." She looked back and smiled at the tip he gave her. "And….Be careful."

Aura's last words didn't reach her as she went off to rejoin the rest of Night Raid. He did the same, rejoining the others in the assembly hall. It was time for naming the teams. Though he stepped in on time to recognize the person that punched him on the airship. Cardin Winchester of team CRDL, cardinal. Aura's hand tightened as he stood by his partner. Niela did notice how tense he was. Her hand rested on his shoulder, causing him to jump slightly. A soft smile from her calmed him down as he looked at the next teams. Team JNPR, juniper, led by Jaune Arc, the blonde girl that was tossed around by a deathstalker. Pyrrha Nikos was the one in armor, Lie Ren was the guy with the purple streak in his hair, and Nora Valkyrie was the scary girl that rode a ursa. Then there was team RWBY, ruby. Led by, you guessed it, Ruby Rose. There was Weiss, Yang, and the girl in a lot of black named Blake. Aura felt connected to these two teams already.

"Finally. Aura, Ophelia Okami, Ellie Sabbah, and Niela Bunyan. They retrieved the white king pieces. As of today they shall form team Aeon, and shall be led by Aura." Ozpin announced.

Aura immediately felt like they were put on the spot. Leader? How could they be a leader? They never led anyone before, let alone a team. However this didn't stop Niela from being happy. She almost instantly lifted Aura up onto their shoulder presenting him as their leader. He was surprised he even fit on her shoulder. It wasn't just that he fit, but how strong she was in general to lift him up like a kiddy toy. That said, he knew he didn't way that much so it was feasible for someone to do so. After the ceremony, the four of them found themselves in their new dorm room. At first they were quiet, but once inside, Ophelia spoke.

"S-So. New leader. Not going to lie, I was hoping I would be the leader, but I trust the headmaster's decision." Ophelia informed him.

"W-Well it's not like I asked to be the leader. To be honest I expected one of you to be too." Aura responded. Their eyes cast down to the floor.

"Well….There's no use in bellyaching about it." Ophelia took a deep breath. "So let's get to know our team better. Here. I'll start. I am Ophelia Kami from Mistral. My semblance is shine. It allows me to project a blinding light from my aura. My weapon is my Imperial regalia." She lifted her shield and had it unfurl into a sword, then back. Then she showed one of the magatama gems of dust and inserted it causing the shield to glow brightly with the dust's element. "As for background, let's just say I come from a troubled family."

Aura smiled at her. It was almost heartwarming. "Well I'm Aura. I come from the Empire. My weapon is my imperial arm Faded Glory: Mors. You saw what it could do earlier. My semblance is aroma which isn't combat focused. At the moment it just makes me smell for my past….I'm the only survivor from my village."

Niela then spoke up. "I guess it's my turn. I'm Niela Bunyan. My father works here in Vale. My weapon's name is Babe. It's an ax that can turn to a chainsaw, with an automatic rifle attachment pointing the direction of the blade. My aura is projection which allows me to project my aura into a larger person around me. It's useful when dealing with big opponents, but usually just ends up making my aura a bigger target." She rubbed the back of her head nervously.

"….This is stupid." Ellie told everyone. "If I have to I will. I'm from Vacuo. My name is Ellie Sabbah. My weapon is Weep. A sword that can become a whip blade. My aura, phantom, allows invisibility."

She kept it brief before laying in her bed and closing her eyes. Her monotonous voice showed a lack of emotion the entire time. Aura and Niela looked at her feeling a little shot down by her lack of interest in sharing about herself. However, Aura did have to admit that seeing her wolf ears twitch was kind of cute. Ophelia let out a sigh before informing the others that this was normal for her. Something about a troubled history that even she didn't know about her friend. Deciding it was best not to pry, he went to bed. All he could think of was about how different things were. How would Akame adjust to this world. Far off the coast of Sanus, a ship sailed from the empire. A storm of ice and snow billowing behind it.
