Chapter 2: Musical Talent, Entrance Exam and Earphone Jack
Tomorrow is a new day, Jack always thought about that every time he wakes up but knowing that he wakes up in another world after death and living with a nice family, who is willingly let him live in their house are two different things. Currently Jack is in his room, putting his burrowed clothes, because today Jack and Inko will go out to buy Jack some new clothes. Jack is putting on a grey button up shirt and blue jeans. After he was done, Jack leaves his room and went to the table to eat breakfast. Since Izuku has already left with his training, it's just Inko and Jack now inside the house.
"Ah good morning Jack, here take a seat." Inko said.
"Ok Inko", Jack seats in front of Inko. On the table there are katsudon, tofu and two rice bowls.
"I hope you like katsudon Jack"
"I do like katsudon because my mother sometimes cooked this for me," Jack said, its true sometimes in the morning Jacks mother cooked him katsudon, it's very delicious and he always wants more of it. Inko looked at Jack, a somber expression and a sad smile plastered on his face.
"Jack are you okay?" Inko ask worried
"Im-im fine Inko, it's just sometimes I miss my parents, I was still in school before their death, I didn't know when I came home that night, our apartment was in fire, I knew that day…. I lost my parents…." Jack somberly told Inko. At a break speed Jack was hugged by Inko again.
"It's ok Jack I can't imagine how much pain you felt after the loss of your parents but know this we are here by your side Jack." Inko said, Jack return the hug, letting a single tear fall from his face.
"Thank you Inko, you remind me of my mother by the way." Jack said
Inko end the hug. "Then if its not a problem for you…. You can call me mom" Inko said while blushing.
"Alright…. Mom" Jack said smiling. They continue their breakfast after Jacks breakdown. After their breakfast Jack and his new mother went to the mall.
After 15 minutes, they finally arrived at the mall. The mall was big, the outside there are many snacks and other little stores. Jack was astonished by the mall.
'Wow its big, I wonder what they got in there', Jack thought.
Then they went inside the mall. They passed by many different stores, food, games and many more. But one caught Jack's eye, the music store. Jack stayed there for a minute but doesn't notice that Inko is watching him from behind.
"Jack you like playing music?"
"Umm, yes mom"
"Well… how about after we buy your clothes we come back here again and buy something from the music store?"
"Wha-what really?!" Jack was surprised, he didn't know that his new mother was this nice to him.
"Yes, Jack"
"Thank you, mom!" Jack said happy that his new mother is willingly buy him an instrument.
After 20 minutes of shopping for Jacks clothes and buy him a new phone, true to Inko's word, she bought him some instruments. Jack bought a shakuhachi, an electric guitar and an acoustic guitar.
After that Jack and Inko went out of the mall. When they decide to go home, Jack saw a homeless man that needed money. Jack knew that back in Harlem there are so many homeless people, you ask how Jack helped them? Besides FEAST? The answer is busking.
"Mom, can we stay here for a moment? I want to do help somebody." Jack point to the homeless man at the front pf the mall.
Inko just nodded and motion Jack to do what he wanted to do. Jack then went back to the music store and ask if he could borrow a mic and a speaker with an aux guitar on it. The store manager asked why he needs it. Jack explained them that he wanted to help the homeless person. The manager said yes. Then Jack went back to the front of the mall and prepare his stage.
After 5 minutes he has done. An acoustic guitar on his hand, already hooked into the sound speaker and a mic in front of his face.

Jack strummed his guitar first and not long his strummed has fasten up. People began to gather around. Then Jack started to sing.

The people who have gathered around started to enjoy the music, Inko was surprised to see Jack performing, he has a great voice and combo that with his face. He is a whole package.

The song ended, the crowd soon cheered and clapped for Jack's performance. The crowd began putting their money into Jack's guitar case. Soon Jack's guitar case is full of yen and after that the crowd disperse. Jack soon counted how much did he got and split it, one is for himself and the other is for the homeless man. After that Jack tidy up his stage and returned it to the music store. Then Jack went to the homeless man, giving the share from his busking. The homeless man was thankful for Jack because this money is enough to pay for his daughter surgery. Jack was grateful that he had helped him. Jack really love helping people, even before he got his powers. Jack's father always said to him that, if we help one person, then that person will help another person and so on.
After giving the money Jack returned to Inko. she was proud of what Jack did. Soon the two of them went home after that. Unknown to Jack a certain black purple haired girl was recording his performance form the very beginning.
The next day, Dagobah Beach
The next day, Jack joined Izuku to start training for the entrance exam. Yesterday when Jack and Inko got home, Izuku was already there. He was surprised that Jack bought instruments and when Jack called Inko 'Mom'. Jack soon explained to Izuku about Jack's suddenly called his mother his mom too. Izuku wasn't mind by that, he even was grateful that he got a brother that is already an experience hero. Jack was happy after hearing that and promised to teach him everything he knew.
Currently Jack and Izuku is at the the beach that All Might have mention two days ago. Apparently Izuku was tasked to clean up the beach. Jack ask why do Izuku need to clean up the beach.
"Oh, it's for inheriting One For All, All Might explained yesterday that, if I inherit it One For All at my current body, the backlash of that quirk will make my limbs burst out from my body." Izuku explained.
Jack tries not to imagine Izuku with limbs explode from his body. After that conversation Izuku began to do his training and Jack with his own. When Jack has gotten his powers, the first thing that Peter told Jack to do was strength training, Peter would told Jack to bench press heavy objects, swinging for long periods, do pull ups with a chains strapped on a large objects and many more. The second was mobility, Peter will time up his parkour and agility from building to building and sometimes will make him race with either him or Miles. The third is combat, Peter and Miles will often bring Jack to the city to fight crime or have Jack fight one of Peters holograms, and sometimes have a spar with either Peter or Miles. The last one is stealth, when you infiltrate some facility or area you need to be able to take down enemies with a single strike without alerting the others nearby that's why Peter would made a hostage simulation and Jack needs to take down all the enemies (AN: Holograms) without causing an alert. At first the training that Jack had was hard for him, but overtime it became easy as pie for him. He once beat Miles record at a swinging race by the way and told him to buy Jack the latest new novel, Oregairu.
Jack knows what he will do, he will just top up his training. For strength Jack will just gather big trash and combine into one and bench press it and when he feels like if he can go above that, he will add more. For mobility Jack would just make an obstacle course for him to parkour and swing, apparently on the way to the beach there is a park not far with many trees surround around the park. For combat, Jack will ask All Might to spar for him just for 10 – 20 minutes, since fighting villains is against the law without a licence. And the last one is stealth, for stealth Jack doesn't know where he should practice this. So, Jack pass that one out.
Five hours later
After the training Jack and Izuku were resting up in a nearby stairs in the beach.
"So, how's your training brother?" Jack asked Izuku.
"Oh it's… not going so well, pulling a fridge with All Might on it was really tiring and heavy."
"Well don't give up Izuku, I'm sure you could handle it" Jack giving support.
"Thanks Jack, hey Jack can I ask you something?".
"Sure"
"You said that your world doesn't have many people with quirks right? I-I mean powers."
"Yeah, just a handful of guys who has them"
"Well before I got an opportunity to meet All Might, I was shunned by others because I'm quirkless, I was looked by others as something wrong. Even Kacchan my childhood friend turned against me."
"Wait, who's kacchan?"
"O-oh his name Bakugo Katsuki, it's a nickname that I gave him. When Kacchan's quirk began to develop, the teachers were praising him, making him arrogant and ruthless to others, looking others as only just a stepping stone for him."
'Ah that kind of people, yup just listening your brief explanation about this guy gave me one word to describe him… An Asshole' Jack thought.
"As for me when my quirk didn't develop, the others started to avoid me and don't want to play with me but when I told them I wanted to be a hero, they started to bully me, at first it was just teasing me and soon it became violence. Kacchan even gave me a nickname Deku, and it means useless."
Jack was mad, 'what's wrong with this people? Why if just being a quirkless human you could be receiving such punishment?' Jack thought
"But… that's not all…. Two days ago, before I met you Jack. After school, when I want to go home, Kacchan stopped me and then he taken my Hero Analysis No.13, and burned it with his quirk, explosion…. I manage to retrieve it at a nearby fountain. But what he told me after is what I was sad about, he told me to jump off a building, and hope to have a quirk in the next live…"
Jack was shocked hearing those words, to think someone who has the balls to say those things…. Now that is out of line.
"But for years after what he had done to me, I still admired him. He was good at everything Jack, and that's why I wanted to be better than him, better than All Might and even better than you… brother." Izuku said
Jack smiled after that remark and smirked.
"Izuku get up" Jack order.
"W-what?!"
"You hear me get up, i want you to learn some fighting skills from me."
"O-ok!"
Izuku and Jack got up from their sitting spot and went to an open field on the beach.
"Now, I want you to put your arms up, left foot front and right foot back, fist tighten up and shoulders relax."
Izuku do what Jack told to him.
"Now every villain is different, there are two types at common, the fast one and the tank one, now when you face with the fast one you need to wait, observe the villain's movement and then when the times right, strike. Now, I want you to attack me."
"W-Why?".
"Because I will teach you about what Pete and Miles taught to me, so in the long run you will know your own style and hopefully it will help with the entrance exam."
"Ok!"
Immediately Izuku attack Jack with a right hook, Jack sidestep him, give him a light push. Izuku stumbles to the ground, faceplant.
"Remember brother observe first."
"Y-yes!" Izuku groan.
Izuku got up again but this time he observes first Jack's movement. Jack was too observing Izuku. Izuku suddenly has an idea and he would need to initiate it fast. Izuku quickly gave Jack another left hook, Jack sidestep again but unknown to Jack that hook is just for a distraction. Izuku then gave Jack a right uppercut and Izuku hit Jack square on the cheek.
"Ugh!"
"I-I did it… I HIT YOU JACK!" Izuku told Jack happy.
"Yup you sure did… damn are you sure you didn't have a quirk, because it hurts" Jack joked
"W-WHAT I-IM SORRY J-JACK!" Izuku said
"Ahahaha! Kidding" Jack laughing.
'But that was really cool brother and actually I could have evaded that second attacked but I let you have this victory.' Jack thought.
"What! Ahh I thought you were hurt!"
Jack was still laughing on the ground, making Izuku groan of frustration because of Jack's prank. All Might who is watching from a far smiled by this scene.
'Those two will be good heroes in the future.' Toshinori/All Might thought.
After that the Jack and Izuku went to All Might to say goodbye and went home.
10 months later
All Might was heading to the beach in his true form. It was Izuku last day of training and he was eager to see what the boy progress has been and his lessons on hand to hand combat with his adopted brother Jack. He was thankful to Jack of course. Speaking of Jack, All Might recall one of Jack spars with him, the boy was an experience combatant, it proved more to him of Jack's story about already being an experience hero.
Lost in his thoughts, All Might didn't noticed that he already arrived at his destination. He was astonished, the beach was clean! No trash is seen in any spot on the beach. At the pile up trashed on the corner of the beach, a person was standing there, exhausted and then he screamed, it was Izuku. He screamed as his lungs can make him.
"GOODNESS!" All Might said while turning into his muscular form.
Izuku was wobbling on that piled up trash and he began to fall from it. Before All Might could save him, he was beaten by none other than Jack himself.
"Wow brother, now that was a roar of victory." Jack said to him, putting his brother down.
"T-Thanks… Jack… for saving… me". Izuku said between breaths.
"AHAHAH, you two had done a good work with your training, especially you young midoriya." All Might them showed a photo, it was 10 months ago when Izuku was still skinny. But now, Izuku was ripped, muscle can be seen bigger and he has a six pack. Jack was not far behind, when Jack started his training, he has improved greater than before, his muscle has already bigger than before and his muscles are more defined than Izuku. Basically, the two of them have improved greatly from before.
"I am so proud with the two of you, especially you young midoriya. Now, young midoriya you are ready to receive my quirk."
The sweats, the tears, all Izuku felt for the ten months of hell has paid off. All Might took a single hair from his head. And…
"EAT THIS"
"Eh?/Eh?"
"Eat this"
"What why?" Izuku said, Jack was too curious.
"In order to receive my quirk you must ingest my DNA, now you need to hurry the exam will start in 3 hours." All Might said.
Izuku took the hair and prepared for he was going to do. Jack was trying not burp and throwing the contents from his stomach. Immediately Izuku put the hair inside his mouth and swallow.
'Uhh… Imagine if I receive my powers like needed to eat the spider…. Nope not going to think about it.' Jack thought cringed by the idea that he needs to eat the spider to gain his spider powers.
"Umm All Might, I don't feel anything"
"Its because it needs to be absorbed by your body, and it may take 2-3 hours, now you two need to go home and rest, so that you have the energy needed for the exam"
"Yes, All Might!" The two of them said said in unison.
They quickly went home and said their goodbyes to All Might.
UA High
'So, this is UA huh?' Jack thought.
After a ten minute train ride and a five minute walk, Izuku and Jack arrived at UA. When Jack first saw the building, he almost saw it as a college university. Many students from different school are present outside the building. Since Jack didn't wear any school uniform, he just wore a black hoodie and grey track pants with black running shoes. Jack was excited and nervous, while Izuku was… mumbling like crazy because of his nervousness.
"Oi, Izuku snap out of it" Jack lightly tap his shoulder.
"W-Wha-What?"
"Oi, relax brother, I know that you could pass this exam." Jack reassured his brother.
"Thanks Jack."
After that Jack's spider-sense flared up. He immediately saw the danger, Izuku was about to fall. Jack was about to save Izuku but someone was already beat him. Izuku was floating lightly.
"Release" Someone said.
Izuku began to stop floating and Jack catch him before Izuku could fall twice. Jack observe the person who helped his brother. The girl is a short girl of a slender yet curvaceous figure. She is fair skinned with a perpetual blush on her cheeks. Her eyes are large and round, their irises a warm auburn brown, with rather thick upper eyelashes, two longer and more prominent ones protruding outwards on either side and fewer but more individually pronounced lower eyelashes, shoulder-length and about the same colour as her eyes, her hair is bobbed and curved inwards at the ends, two longer clumps taking the same shape on either side of her face, and short bangs that reach roughly a quarter of the way down her forehead.
"Sorry for using my quirk on you, I saw you were going to fall." The girl said.
"Nah, its fine thanks btw for saving my brother, I'm Hamada Jack and this is Midoriya Izuku." Jack said.
"Im Uraraka Ochaco, nice to meet you Hamada-san. You two are brothers? But you are nothing alike and Jack? Isn't that American?" Uraraka ask.
"Well, I was adopted and became his adopted brother, while still keeping my last name and for Jack, yeah I'm from America but I'm half Japanese from my father side." Jack explained
"Oh, I see well I want to stay and talk but I don't want to be late, so bye." Uraraka said her goodbye.
'Hmm, a bubbly girl.' Jack thought.
"Oi Izuku you have been quiet for a while" Jack turned to his brother. Izuku was muttering like crazy, his whole face is like a tomato.
"I-I-I T-TALK TO-TO-A-GIRL…" Izuku muttered.
'Talk? More like freeze up and muttered like crazy.' Jack sweat drop.
"Yeah you did, now snap out of it or I leave you here muttering like some student who has been caught red handed smoking weed in the school grounds." Jack jokingly said.
"Ri-Right sorry." Izuku apologize.
The two of them proceed to go inside the building. After searching for the exam room, they seated and wait for the exam to start. After an hour, they were moved into another room, which was like a college class. Jack and Izuku was seated together. Jack noticed that there was a familiar face besides Izuku.
'Wait, that was the blond from before, that has an explosion quirk…. Explosion… wait that was the bully that Izuku told me from before, Katsuki Bakugo was it?' Jack thought. The bully was still the same from before Jack saved him, same scowl and grumpy attitude. Jack just hope that he and Izuku doesn't and up in the same class as him.
In the front of the seats, there was a person. Jack recognize him as Present Mic, Izuku often ask Jack to listen one of his radio channel. Jack could describe this guy as an energetic and loud man.
Then Present Mic explained the practical exam. Apparently, they will fighting robots that has already been paint numbers on it. There will be three different types of it, but Jack noticed that there were four. Jack was going to ask but someone beat him to it. A short dark blue hair teen, who is wearing a business uniform and wears glasses.
"Excuse me, in this form it explains that there are four types, but you said there were only three, is UA making a mistake this is a shame for a prestigious school. And you with the green haired, can you please don't talk to yourself, people here want to focus with the exam!" The dark blue hair teen said, referring to Izuku. Izuku lower his head to avoid being seen, Bakago (who Jack will call him for now) laugh on his brother misery. Jack gives Bakago a silent glare and he wants to retort back to the dark blue hair teen but decides not to or he will be brought more attention to him and Izuku.
Present Mic then explained the fourth robot. The fourth robot has no points on it, therefore he advice to better avoid this robot. After that the examiners were given cards that has different alphabets on it. Jack was given battle Center E, Izuku was given battle Center B. Bakago looked at Izuku card and stated that he couldn't kill him because his in a different battle center.
Present Mic soon told the examiners to head to their own battle center. Jack and Izuku began walking to their battle center.
"Hey Izuku, remember what I taught you in those ten months." Jack said
"Yes, I will put them in good use." Izuku replied
"Good, I hope you passed brother" Jack said, putting a fist bump to Izuku.
"You too brother" Izuku replied giving his own fist bump.
The two of them part ways and proceed to go to their buses.
15 minutes later
The bus has arrived at the battle center. Jack and the others got out from the bus. Jack was amaze by the battle center. It was a freaking city.
'Damn how in the hell UA afford this anyway?' Jack wondered.
Jack then felt someone tap on his back. He turned around and saw a girl. The girl has a slender build, she has triangular, lazy-looking onyx eyes with notably long lower eyelashes and rather small eyebrows. Her hair is short, only around chin length, and is dark purple in colour with an asymmetrical fringe, and two reflections shaped like heartbeat monitor waves on either side of her head. Her most prominent features are the flexible, plug-like earphone jacks hanging from each of her earlobes at the end of two thin cords. She was wearing dark purple running pants, purple running shoes and dark purple shirt with a black shirt underneath.
"Can I help you?" Jack asked in curious.
"Umm…" The stopped for a moment, mumbling like 'say your name damnit' with a current blush on her face.
'Cute…' Jack thought.
"I-Im Jirou Kyoka, I-I recognize you at the mall, when you were performing and helping that homeless man", The girl introduced herself.
"Ah yes that was me, I'm Hamada Jack btw." Jack offered his hand which the girl took it.
'His hand is strong/Her hand is soft' They thought.
They were so in their thoughts they didn't realize that they were holding hands for too long. Jack was the first noticed this and immediately end it.
"SO-SORRY!" Jack said in panic and a blush.
"It-It's f-fine." Jirou told him also with a blush.
They look away. Soon Present Mic told them that the exam has start. Jack quickly jump and shoot two webs on the door leading to the fake city, leaving Jirou behind. Jack will apologize to her after the test. After that Jack shot another web and began to swing, he saw two robots with two points written on them. Then Jack web strike one of the robots with a venom electricity on one of Jacks feet. The robot explodes after the hit, with the momentum of the kick, Jack then web shot the other robot and pull it into the air with him and giving the robot a venom punch.
'That is four points.' Jack thought.
Jack saw three robots with a number 3 on it not from him. He then web zip to a building and web swing high above the three robots. The robots notice Jack, they soon began to attack. They fire missiles and other projectiles to him. Jack avoid them but he webbed one of the rockets and turn it back to one of the robots. One robot was destroyed. Then Jack venom dash to one of the robots, follow up with a venom jump, making the two robots went up to the air with him. Jack then gave the two robots an aerial attack.
'That's thirteen points.' Jack thought.
Jack continue to destroy the robots that is present in his line of view. Jack sometimes help other examiners. Some would appreciate with his help, some wont. Jack doesn't care, he just like helping people. Pete and Miles will do it too. Five minutes has passed, Jack has obtained 80 villain points, and now Jack was perching on a nearby building, surveying the area. Suddenly the ground shakes.
'Spider sense' Jack thought, Jack then search for the danger and instantly found it. A giant robot was nearby, destroying anything on its path. The examiners began to run away from it, heading to the opposite direction. Jack was about to join but he heard someone shout 'help'.
'Someone's in trouble!' Jack thought.
Immediately Jack dive into the danger. He saw that someone is trap under a rubble.
"Are you alright?!" Jack asked.
"Help I'm stuck!" The person said, who he now knew as Jirou Kyoka.
Jack then tried to lift up the rubble, he almost got Jirou but his spider-sense warned an up coming danger. The robot was heading to Jack fast. Jack then tries to lift the rubber faster, he did it and web Jirou to him. He then carried Jirou on his back and evade an upcoming metal fist. Jack swung away from the giant robot. He lands blocks away from the danger and put Jirou down.
"Jirou are you okay?" Jack concerned.
"I'm fine, just my leg hurts." Jirou said rubbing her leg.
Jack then web a cast on Jirou's leg.
"There until the medic gets here, this should hold for now" Jack explained.
"Thank you" Jirou said blushing.
Jack then saw the giant robot again and saw that he was heading in this way. Jack then decides to destroy the robot. Jack then swung to the robot and takes his attention to him.
"Hey tin can over here." Jack said to the robot.
The robot then went after Jack. Jack brought the robot to a secluded area, where no people was around. Jack then webs up the robot to building to building. The robot struggles to break free from his webs. Jack then swung up into the air and venom jump until he was high enough. Then he gathered all the electricity on his body. Electricity cracking around Jack. Jack then let go of the energy and do a venom dash to the robot, on the last second before impact he gathered the electricity on his fist.
"VENOM SMASHHH!" He said.
His fist connects with the robot's head and explodes. Before the robot was about to fall, he webs up the robot so that it could prevent more property damage. Peter always said to try minimal property damage. Then he lands on the robot while doing the signature spider-man landing. The examiner who was watching was amaze by Jack's action. After that the exam was announced over.
Jack then went back to the girl he saved. She was being treated by an old lady, she was short, she was wearing a medical coat. She was Recovery Girl what Jack remembered from Izuku Hero Ananlysis Book. Jirou was treated by Recovery Girl with a kiss, her quirk heals wounds with the patient stamina. Instantly Jirou's wounds has healed. She stumbles a bit and was about to fall when Jack saved her… again.
"Wow, easy we don't want you to fall and faceplant to the ground", Jack jokingly said.
Jirou was blushing and hit Jack on the chest, "Shut up, don't ever leave me like that… dummy" She said.
Jack just smiles. He thanked Recovery Girl, then Jack and Jirou went to their bus. Inside the bus they were talking about themselves.
"So, what's your quirk?" Jirou asked.
"Oh, my quirk is Electro Spider, basically I have the powers of a spider and bio electricity with electro kinesis and also I have invisibility." Jack explained, showing his camouflage hand.
"Wow that's awesome Hamada, well my quirk is earphone jack, I could use this extra long limbs to channel my heartbeat." Jirou explained showing her long appendages, it looked like an aux shaped.
"Cool." Jack said.
"Those white things that comes out from your wrist…" Jirou asked.
"Oh, that would be my web shooters." Jack showed his web shooters.
"Wow you're must be pretty smart, are you a nerd?" Jirou asked teasingly.
"Well a little." Jack said, smiling on Jirou teasing.
Jirou blushed from Jack smile. Minutes later the bus has stopped. Jack checks his phone for Izuku, Izuku text to Jack that he already gone home first. Jack then decides to go home too.
"Wait!" Jirou said
"Hmm?"
"C-can I have your phone number?" She shyly asked.
'I swear to god that face your making will be the end of me' Jack tries not to emit a blush.
"Sure"
They exchange contact information.
"Hey Hamada… are you free next week?" Jirou asked
"Yes I am."
"C-could we hang out? at the same mall from months ago."
