It was Monday afternoon and instead of eating her lunch, Luna was at school reading Joey's next entry of her journal.

May 19, 2001

They tell you before and during the treatment that you will be nervous. Overwhelmed by the feeling of what's going to happen when they stick up the IV up your arms. Tank with the feeling of defeat.

One thing, I learned today was that not only will you feel like this way but the people you love will feel defeated as well. Dawson, Pacey, and I trying to figure out what to do while we wait in the hospital. My eyes were closed because the pain of Iv was a lot more overwhelming than I thought it would be.

Bessie had gotten into a fight with me this morning about her going to the hospital or not. She didn't say that she wants to go but I could just tell she didn't so I storm out the front door while Pacey drove Dawson and me to the hospital. I know it was not Bessie, or Pacey ideal's situation but I hate how she has been treating me like I'm a delicate little flower for the past two weeks. As I was still fuming with my eyes closed. Dawson was recording me while I held Pacey's hand in the hand that wasn't being held hostage by with an IV stuck up in arm.

A young doctor came in, not young as a teenager but she was probably in her mid-twenties to early thirties. When she asked how we were doing, Pacey answered with not good as he threw up.He got taken out of the room, while I was left there with Dawson.

I can't explain what was going on with Pacey at that moment however two hours later as he wheeled me out. He explained that the nerves got the best of him and I can't tell you why or how but this boy still wants to be in my life.I fall asleep on the way home however when I woke up, it was dark and Pacey was taking me up the stairs and into the living room.

He then just ran out of the room and when I called his name, he was playing I don't want to miss a thing by Aerosmith. He then picked me up as we danced. It was small but I learned there is a lot of things now that are small.

I have never really been a huge girl on corsages or fancy expensive jewelry however this moment was the moment I needed. Pacey isn't perfect by any means he knows that, I know. But at this moment, he was perfect. The way his eyes were looking into my mine as we continue to sway to the music till my eyes closed.

When he took me upstairs all I felt was pain, pain from the drugs and the side effects but also pain in my thoughts. I asked him if he could read to me and he picked up our book.

But then I explained to him how if we lived in a fairytale, we would both be disappointed in the ending. He reminded me of how at the beginning of every fairytale they had a terrible beginning but, in the end, they live happily ever after, just like we are going to be. And how this fairy tale just so happened to be found after we knew one another for years instead of never knowing one another at all. He thinks that's lucky but I secretly think that's a curse of bad luck.

But we then talked about how if we never met one another, we would have somehow found each other. He said he would be a doctor, I said he would kill me if he was. But he said I would be stubborn as ever if this was a modern-day fairy. Which he is right about that.

I wouldn't be shocked if he realizes now that this beginning is worse than the other beginnings of any another fairy tale. I am sure his intentions mean well at times. But we both know how this may end, we are just too scared to say it. I'm sure in the fairy tales, the prince doesn't hold back the girl's hair as she throws up from the side effects of chemotherapy. They must have skipped that part of the fairy tale.

Guess we will have to see what happens from here to find our happily ever after.

Joey Potter

May 3, 2021

Luna suddenly felt a hand on her back, she smiled as turned around to see her best friend, Lucas. The two met when Joey first got sick due to Lucas's mom being the nurse.

He was handsome, he had blue eyes, tan skin, and dark black hair. However, she was definitely not his type due to the fact that he was gay.

It was Pacey and his mom, Amanda who met first instead of Luna and Lucas. Amanda was Joey's doctor for fifteen years; she was only five years older than Pacey and Joey. But her husband had died in a car accident three years after Joey had gotten sick and she was left to take care of a three-month-old by herself.

Pacey would often come over and help when this first happened. Lucas found Pacey to be there his whole life as a father figure. He even came out to him for the first time to see how an adult who he looked so much up to, would react.

Luna views Amanda as a mother figure just like she did with Jen. She secretly hopes that Amanda and Pacey would realize how much they care for one another so they could get married one day. But she knew the two were stubborn and it would most likely never happen. None of them ever fell in love after the two significant others passed away. But a girl could dream.

Not only was Amanda the doctor for Joey but there was another woman named Stephanie was. She remembered her by photos and videos, Luna always thought she was pretty. She had dark skin and the deepest blue eyes that Luna had ever seen. She was a mystery to Luna but as she looked at another page next to the first writing she saw a photo of Pacey, Joey, Bessie, Amanda, and then Stephanie.

"Look at this photo." She whispered as she pointed to the five young adults standing in the photo. She smiled up at Lucas as he looked carefully.

"They look so young, especially your parents. Your Mom looks like you." Lucas said as he rubbed his hand gently on Luna's arms.

"Dad is telling me what is happening and he also gave me her journals. I think tonight, I am going to go ask for the tape."

"Your Uncle Dawson doesn't have them?"

"Uh, no dad…borrowed… them from him," Luna said with a look. Lucas laughed as he shook his head, he knew exactly what she meant by this. Pacey explained it to him a long long time ago and Amanda even shook her head at him telling him it was wrong.

Suddenly a tray dropped on the table. Luna and Lucas looked up to see one of their best friends Ella chuckling at her phone. "My mom doesn't call in a year and suddenly she thinks she thinks she just can." She said angrily. "Oh and get this, the sub caught me cutting class so now I have dentition."

Luna shook her head at her. Ella and she have been best friends since they were eight. They call one another "The messes up" because Joey passed away while Ella wasn't sure at the time if her mom was alive or dead. Now seven years later, here the two were in the same position except for the fact Ella knew her mom more and was slowly trying to build a relationship.

Ella's Dad wasn't the best either. He had a lot of problems. Constantly dating new people, and even getting a few pregnant. He drinks a lot and sells a ton of drugs. When he would get high Ella would sleep over there when her Dad passed out on the couch.

Pacey found her once on the couch when the girls were ten and soon, he just made their guest bedroom into Ella's escape room. He told her several times that if she needed a place to stay, she was welcome over there. Now that Ella is sixteen, she texts her Dad where she is and then comes over at night.

In exchange for letting her sleep over, Ella would help Pacey and Luna on the weekdays at the Creek house.

"Is it ok if I sleep over tonight? Dad has this new girlfriend again and she hates me." Ella asked her.

"Like you even have to ask," Luna told her while narrowing her eyes.

"Is that the journal you were texting me about?" Ella asked her.

"Do you want to watch the tape with me tonight?" Luna asked. "We have to work at the restaurant since the weekend is over but there is a tape that I need to get tonight."

"Duh," Ella said as the bell ringed. "Why does the bell ring to go back to class after I get my lunch?"

"Because you are slow." Lucas teased as Ella stick out her tongue at him.

Pacey sat down in his office and sighed as he looked at all the menus. He was trying to remake the menus for the first time in ten years but it was a lot harder than he thought it would be.

Joey and him picked these menus out right before she passed away. He was about to call it quits when he got a phone call.

"This is Pacey."

"She is in the hospital?!" Pacey yelled as Maddy Allen, the woman who was going to help the menus, came in. "Ella, which hospital?" Pacey demanded to know.

"Ok, I'm on my way."

Pacey looked up at the young woman in front of him, she had to be ten years younger than him but he couldn't help but gulp as he looked at her. He shook his head to force thought out of his head and focus on what was happening.

"That was my daughter's best friend. Luna, my daughter is in the hospital. She passed out; I have to go." He said as he rushed to get his stuff together.

"Do you need help?" Maddy asked as she looked up at him. "Like a ride? You look pale."

He was about to say no but decided against it.

"Would you mind?"

Maddy shook her head as the two walked to her car.

"Luna." Pacey rushed in as he hugged his daughter in his arms with tears in his eyes.

"What the hell happened?'

"I don't know, I just kind of passed out," Luna said with a shrugged. "I'm fine Dad. I guess I didn't eat enough."

Pacey looked at her as Ella and Lucas slowly walked out of the room. "Lu, you realize this could have been worse."

"The doctors said I was ok."

"Yes, they did say that Lu, but they always said that.

Luna sighed knowing her Dad would say something like this, ever since her mom had died. Pacey had gotten more and more scared of Luna being sick. She knew it would get worse once she was the age Joey was when she first got sick but she couldn't blame him. Not one bit.

"Eat lunch next time," Pacey said as he sat in the empty chair and sighed. Maddy then walked in and handed him his keys. Luna looked up in confusion. Who was this person?

"I got a ride from my husband." She said with a smile to Pacey as he took the keys.

"Thank you." He whispered as he brushed hair out his face as he looked at Luna who was staring at him.

Before Luna could say anything, Pacey looked up to see someone he hasn't seen in years, Stephanie.

Stephanie still looked the same, she had that short curly hair with her blue eyes shining through the light. But he felt something else when he looked at her.

It was different than what he had felt for a long time, and he didn't realize how much he missed it.

"Pacey Witter," Stephanie said with a huge smile. "What a pleasure to see you."

"The pleasure is all mine," Pacey said as he hugged her.

Luna then clears her throat and Pacey looked back.

"Uh, Luna this is Maddy Allen, the woman I was telling you earlier about with the menus. And Maddy this is my daughter Luna." Pacey said and then looked back at Stephanie.

"Stephanie, you remember my daughter Luna?" Pacey said with a smile. "Yeah, I do. You were like five the last time I saw you."

Luna nervously smiled at her as she watched her Dad get jumpy, was he ok? She watched Maddy leave and then watched as Stephanie walk over to Luna.

"Is she ok? Everyone is saying she is ok but I don't believe it." Pacey nervously said as Luna rolled her eyes. She wanted him to stop. She wished he would calm down. She knew he was there for all those times with mom but this was different.

Stephanie got the message as she smiled at Pacey. "Can you give us a minute alone?"

Pacey nodded as he walked out the door.

"He always acts like this," Luna said as she shook her head. Stephanie laughed.

"You just have low iron, and everything else seemed ok. Nothing to worry about but what I did want to ask you is… are you stressing by any chance?"

"Stressing?" Luna asked as she looked down and thought about her mom's writing and how it made her feel.

"Well, I guess these stories about my mom just make me wonder if I could ever get ovarian cancer," Luna said as she looked down at her feet.

"Your mom was one of my best friends for five years, as well as your Dad."

Luna looked up in shock. She heard about this lady several times but now that she really thought about it she could remember seeing her but maybe it was because of how little she was for the reason why it was so blurry.

"Really?" Luna asked. "Really, and it's very rare to get the cancer your mom had. Rare but not impossible. Your Dad had gone through so much heartache since he was a teenager that now the thought of his baby girl having to go through the same thing would be kill him.

I was there for the days your mom was getting sick from chemo for the first time and I was an intern, not a doctor however your Dad's face said it all. He was scared to death. Now twenty years later, he has the same expression on his face as he did the first time, I saw him."

"I'm just scared of disappointing him in some way."

"Over not being healthy?" Stephanie asked. "Please."

Luna laughed at this. "You know there was another doctor name Scarlett when Joey first came in and then Amanda came in who I know is still close with you and your Dad. But I remember Joey always telling me one day she will do the things she wanted to do. She went to Paris, she went to California at one point, and she went to Europe twice.

When she got sick again, I had just become a doctor myself and she looked at me and told me that at the end of the day, she wants Pacey to be happy and you know what if I die at least, I know we were happy for five years without cancer. Your mom was the most stubborn patient at times but she was beautiful in a lot of ways. Your Dad wants the best for you and that's why he does it."

Luna looked up and smiled softly. "My mom has a photo of you in her journal from a long time ago." She whispered softly as she got down to get her backpack. She opened the journal and there was the photo.

"Ah, yes this. You need to watch that tape." Stephanie said with a laugh.

"Is it inappropriate to ask for your number?" Luna said as she looked up at the older woman who smiles softly.

"No, here," Stephanie said. "I wouldn't normally do this but if you are feeling stress like this. I can take you or your Dad out for coffee." She said with a wink. She then wrote down her number on a piece of paper and squeezed the younger girl's arm.

Stephanie then walked out of the room and stared at Pacey as she closed the door. "Hey." She whispered gently as she saw him sitting on the floor.

"Feels like yesterday we were sitting here as I threw up while my girlfriend was getting her first treatment... I am honestly surprised you are even on this floor." Pacey said as he played with his thumbs.

Stephanie laughed. "I saw her in the ambulance and basically begged for her... Pacey, you got to realize when she gets sick, or when she passes out it isn't like Joey."

Pacey looked up at her. "I have loved that woman for thirty-two years and I don't know what to do with myself half the time. I go out on dates and I see another woman and I try. But Stephanie, I find myself worrying about Luna all the time. When she sick or not. I just don't know what to do to get myself to stop worrying."

Stephanie softly took his hand and pulled it up. "I am done with work, so you come with me."

"But Luna- "Pacey said as she pulled him but she had pulled him into the bathroom.

"What are you doing?" He whispered. She pulled up her shirt and reveal a scar. "Five years ago, you stop talking to me."

"Look I'm really sorry about- "

"Shut up, would you?" Stephanie said as Pacey laughed. "I got cancer two years ago. And I had to get surgery. And I have it again to the point where I have to leave work. That's why I gave Luna my number. But Pacey this scar right here isn't even from cancer, it was when I was a kid and I got sick. I have breast cancer and I don't know what I am feeling half the time.

But my point in showing you this scar is to say. You can't continue your life in the fear that Luna will be sick because if she were to ended up getting sick. She is going to need you the most. Because one day you are going to wake up and everything you fear will be there. I never thought in a million years that the thing a parent most fear is their kid getting sick till I saw my parents at eight freaking out. She needs you more than ever, just like how I needed my parents."

Pacey looked at her and felt his heart drop. He remembered Joey telling him something about anger years ago and now Stephanie trying to tell him about fear.

"I just… I just miss her... so much." He whispered as he let out a breath and stare up at the ceiling. "I hate reliving the past, it reminds me of stubborn and quiet I could be at times."

Stephanie laughed as she pulled him in a hug. "I missed you, Pacey." She said as she felt his tear coming down onto her skin. "I missed you too."

"I know if she was here, she would be freaking out the same way you are. But Pacey, for right now, Luna seems healthy. It's not your fault and she is ok. I know you don't like doctors and hospitals. I am sorry I couldn't save Joey for you, but you need to continue sharing those stories because Luna needs her mom." Stephanie said as she continued holding him as he sobbed in her arms.

When Pacey, Ella, and Luna got home, it was quiet as Pacey pulled out a box of tapes. Without a word, Ella went away as Pacey put the tape in the player. He sat down as he saw Joey appear on the screen. But quickly paused it as he started to speak.

"That day felt like a nightmare. I was worried that my plans of prom were gone." Pacey whispered as Luna stared up at him.

May 19,2001

Pacey sat as he held Joey's hand as she got an IV up her left arm. He watched as she closed her eyes in pain. Meanwhile, Dawson had the camera on his two best friends. Pacey and Dawson weren't close by any means but today they tolerated each other for Joey.

Joey's nurse Amanda then came in with another young woman that seems to be their age.

"And how are you doing?" Amanda asked as Pacey looked worriedly at Joey. "Not good. I think I'm going to be sick." Pacey muttered as he puck into the trashcan next to him.

"Stephanie, would you help this young man get some fresh air?" Amanda said as she put another IV in Joey's arm.

Stephanie nodded as she walked out of the room with Pacey.

Joey looked at Pacey who looked ashamed back at her. He couldn't even hold his stomach together as his girlfriend was being put under a lot of drugs up her arms to kill cancer. He sat on the floor outside the hallway and got sick again.

"Do you think he will be ok?" Joey asked as Dawson chuckled and sat next to her. "He will, sometimes the family or friends or significant other just think too hard about what is happening to the one they love. Just give him a few." Amanda told her.

Before Joey could say anything else, she covered the lens of the camera. "Joey, you are going to get my lens all dirty." He squealed as he continued filming her but then stop as she did again.

Meanwhile Pacey was in the hallway with Stephanie, he had his head in a trashcan as she softly rubbed her back. He looked up to see Bessie walking to him with a worried look on his face. "Pacey, what the hell is going on?" She yelled.

"Is she Joey's sister?" Stephanie asked as Pacey nodded his head. "She is worried all right."

"Hi, Bessie." He mumbles as he stood up, "Are you ok?" She whispered as she sat down next to him.

"I'm going to see if Amanda needs me," Stephanie said as she stood up and walked away.

Pacey shook his head. "I thought I could do this. I thought I could give what Joey deserves… but Bessie maybe I can't be that guy. Maybe I can't do it because it's not right."

Bessie shook her head. "Pacey you are doing amazing, better than I am," Bessie whispered. "I am scared that not only will I lose my parents but my baby sister. Don't tell Joey this but they are thinking of letting Dad for good behavior."

Pacey looked over in shock. "They are thinking of what?" He yelled. "My reaction is as much as yours. I found out a week ago but with everything going on, I feel like it's best not to say anything to Joey quite yet."

Pacey smiled at Bessie, "Let's go." He said as he got up and helped Bessie up. They walk in to see Joey as she got her last IV in. She opened her eyes as she saw Bessie and Pacey standing there.

"Hi," She whispered to Bessie who walked over to Joey and gently pushed her hair back.

"Pacey, get in the photo," Dawson said as he took a photo of Pacey, Bessie, Amanda, and Stephanie.

Pacey didn't understand why Dawson wanted a photo of all of them. It wasn't like this was a magical day for any of them.

Two hours later, Pacey wheeled Joey out since she was so dizzy she couldn't even stand up. She sat in the front seat with Pacey as Bessie took Dawson back home.

"Uh, Pacey?" She whispered as he turns on the car, Joey could feel the cold air breezing through her face.

"Yeah?" He said as he looked over at her.

"Are you ok?" Joey asked as she looked down at her lap.

"Yeah, I'm ok," Pacey said as he smiled at her. He pulled her face gently onto his as he pushed back her hair.

"But I guess my stomach couldn't handle the nerves going through my body." He whispered as he let out a chuckle. "I do really love you, Joey."

"I know that." She whispered as she rubbed his back. "You still want to be around me with all this treatment stuff?"

"Forever and always."

When Pacey arrived at the beach house, he quietly turned off the car and looked at the sleeping form of Joey. The way her lips parted as she slept, the way she was so quiet and looked so peaceful. He thought about how much he wanted to make her feel special, feel complete. He didn't need Joey's Dad to come back but he knew somehow Joey needed it. Every girl needs their father no matter how old she is.

He got out of the car and opened the car door. He said nothing as he carried her bridal style. Joey's eyes fluttered open to see Pacey carry her into the living room. It was seven o clock in the evening, and the two both knew that it wasn't going to be too much longer before Joey fell asleep for the night.

When he set her on the couch as he started to walk away in the dark, confused and tired. Joey called out his name. He ran back as the Christmas lights fill the ceiling and soft music staring playing.

"Pacey, what is this?" She whispered with a small laugh. "I want you to remember your prom. And it's not all how I imagine talking to you on this day but I thought that every girl like yourself should have a memory of her prom." Pacey said as he picked up a small camera and turn it over so he could take a photo. He surprised her with a kiss on her lips as she glazes up into his eyes with so much love and warmth.

Without another word, he picked her up, bridal style once again, and held her close as they suede to the music.

I could spend my life in this sweet surrender

I could stay lost in this moment forever

Where every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure

Joey's head was softly against his neck as she felt safe, giddy, and in love. This boy loved her so much that he was willing to miss prom for her, his senior year but then to do this way a whole different story.

By the end of the song, she felt her eyes closing and everything else felt dark. Pacey looked at Joey and smiled softly as he carried her upstairs.

He put her on the bed and saw her journal sitting there on the desk. He loved that she was liking it. She loved that he knew what she would like.

Pacey kneeled and kissed her forehead softly. Joey let out a small smile as she turned over on her side but wince at the pain of her left arm from where the IV once was.

"Are you alright?" He asked as she opened her eyes and let out a small pout form on her lips.

"I just feel so awful." She whispered as he softly rubbed her stomach where her hands were placed.

"Do you mind reading to me?"

"Do we even have a book here?" He whispered as he then spotted Anderson's book of fairy tales on his nightstand. The two said nothing as he softly wrapped his arms around her to where he could rub her stomach and back.

"Just start from the beginning." She whispered as she let out a yawn but the groan as she felt a pain in her stomach. The pain became too much for her to handle but she listened to Pacey's voice to help keep herself distracted.

"Far away at sea, the water was blue as bluest cornflower, as clear as the crystal; but it is very deep too deep for any cable to fathom and if many steeples were pile on one another, they would not reach from the bed-"Pacey then stopped as he heard Joey whispered.

"If we were in a fairy tale, I think it wouldn't end up well," Joey whispered.

"How so?" Pacey asked her. "Well, we both know what would happen at the end, the prince and princess in end together but wouldn't get their happy ending."

"We are going to get a happy ending, Joey," Pacey whispered as he rubbed the back of her hand.

"In the beginning, they aren't so happy, remember? Cinderella living with her stepmother and stepsister. Snow White and her wicked stepmother just want her heart. Ariel and her just wanting legs but end up losing her voice."

"What are you trying to say?" She whispered.

"I am trying to say is each one of them ended up with the prince because they worked for it. Unlike those fairy tales, Jo. I have been here since you and I were six. I'm not going anywhere; you already have me as your prince charming."

"What if we didn't know each other as we are right now, do you think you would save me on a horse and take me away?"

"Yeah, well in a modern way."

"Which is?" Joey asked with a small head tilt.

"Well, if this were a fairy tale. I would be a doctor."

"Pace, you would end up killing me if you were a doctor," Joey said narrowing her brown eyes onto his.

"Are you going to let me finish?" He asked, and she let out a nod.

"Well, I would easily find a way to find a cure. Since we are still in the modern world, I would probably say you are more stubborn than the average princess. But weeks and weeks will go by and every time I see you, my whole orbit would just stop. Till finally, I see you standing there and the only cure left is by a kiss. You would probably push me for a moment like you always do. But then there then again that's the only cure." Pacey told her as he leads over close to her lips as he continued to explain.

"Then what would happen?" Joey asked him with a soft grin. "Would you like me to show you that part?" He whispered.

"Please do, tell." She whispered as he then kissed her lips.

"I love you, Joey." He whispered as she put her head back on his chest.

"Promise?" He heard her ask. "I promise."

Just like that, he continued reading and Joey continued listening. But hours later, their life was not a fairy tale, it was like Ariel when she couldn't speak. It was painful, Pacey wanted to do everything he could to make her feel better. But unlike Ariel, Joey could speak however she just didn't know what to say to him.

It was clear to both of them at that moment, their fairytale or modern fairytale would be harder than just simple words overflowing their minds. It was going to be hard and the way they would handle it would make it even harder.

The next afternoon, Joey woke up and found Pacey sitting reading an ESPN magazine.

"Hey, you." She whispered as he smiled and grabbed her hand to tangle it in his.

"How do you feel?" Pacey asked as he brushes her hair out of Joey's face. "Well, I don't feel sick. So that's a plus." She whispered to him as he kissed her temples.

"Hey, Pace?" She whispered to him.

"Yeah?"

"I need to eat and take my medicine; do you mind helping me up?"

"I got it. I'll make you some soup." He said as he got up and kiss her hand.

"Can you hand me my journal?" She whispered. He took it off the nightstand and kissed the top of her head.

She could see the love in his eyes at that moment. She smiled up at him as he walked out. She took her pen and open up the journal to see the empty pages. Sighing she stared at it for a moment until she wrote May 19, 2001

May 3, 2021

"Then you know everything was really good for a couple of weeks up until the second treatment. She lost most of her hair where she just shaved it. I shaved my hair with her. But that's for another day."

"Can I see the tape?" Luna asked Pacey who then pressed play on the remote. He hasn't even seen this since the funeral. He was kind of embarrassed by it.

May 19, 2001

Joey and Pacey were in the car and Dawson was in the back filming. Pacey was trying to make a point about why the Notebook was the most romantic movie while Joey was laughing. He mostly did it to distracted on where he was driving to.

"Jo, I am sure the letters are romantic. He writes three hundred and sixty-five letters to him."

"But Pacey she never wrote back-"

"So, what you are saying is if I wrote you three hundred and sixty-five letters and you didn't know about them that it wouldn't be romantic if you didn't write back?"

"That's entirely different," Joey said as grin at him.

"So, would you?"

"Would I what?" Joey said as she stared at him blankly.

"Write me back?" He said as he pulled into the hospital's parking lot.

"I would write you back anytime," Joey whisper with a small wink. Dawson then turned his head to the camera onto himself as he shook his head in disgust.

May 3, 2021

Luna watched as everything her Dad described at the hospital and everything her mom wrote came to life.

Her Dad throwing up, Her Mom asking if he was going to ok. Her Uncle Dawson zooming into her Dad who was in the hallway and Her mom telling him to turn it off while covering it with her hands.

Luna smiled as she saw her mom's eye roll, Pacey gave a weak smile as she covers the camera once again which led the video to end completely.

"Did you write her any letters?" Luna whispered as Pacey turned off the Television screen.

"Yeah, I did. Maybe I'll show you one day." He said as he patted her knee. "Eat, leftovers from the restaurant in the fridge and then go to bed."

Luna sighed as she watched Pacey go into his bedroom and shut the door.

She closed her eyes and tried to picture Joey. The way her hair was long before it started to fall out again but still was growing from the last time, the way she would laugh at Luna and Pacey dancing with no music while they cook. The way she would hold Luna close as Luna would fall asleep on her chest.

Luna got out her own journal after staring at the photo in Joey's journal. She wondered when Joey put this in here.

Suddenly a photo fell out of the journal and she pick it up to find a photo of Pacey and Joey, it was from that same day. He was kissing her on the lips as she glazes up into his eyes.

She took the photo along with her journal into her bedroom. She put the photo on her nightstand as she stared at the empty page in front of her.

May 3, 2021Well, today I ended up in the hospital because I passed out in the hallway. Dad, of course, freaked out but the doctor said it could have been stress. I honestly didn't realize how much I was stressing until I went into the hospital.Dad saw someone he hasn't seen in years. Someone name Stephanie which I have seen and heard so many things about her that it was fun meeting her.I got her number so I could figure out more about cancer, of course, I didn't tell her or anyone else that. But maybe it would help me understand what is going on here. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if mom was here.Jen told me when I was ten that someday I will get it, and now I can't tell if the day is here or not. I feel like I am floundering and I can't find my place when it comes to Mom. It's only been three days but I think it's making me wish she was here.I wonder what she would do if she was here for one more day. Would she be happy with how all our lives are turning out to be? What would she say about Dad telling me their stories? At the end of the day, I know Dad is doing the best he can. He showed me this video of Mom and him talking about the notebook and how they would write each other letters. From what I read in Mom's journal and well what I can remember about my mom. I remember him being very romantic, in the journal she explained how he skips senior prom to be her.I now have this photo of Mom and Dad sitting on my nightstand from that day. I miss her like crazy more than ever. Maybe I can visit Aunt Bessie or Uncle Dawson to see what they have to say about all of this. I know if I ask Jen, she will tell me in a heartbeat.Luna Witter
