Emerald Forest, Remnant, 11:05
Ruby Rose was having an interesting week.
First of all, she'd been invited to the school of her dreams two years ahead after defending a store from a major criminal. Then, she literally blew up in front of Beacon. And now, she was paired with an apparent heiress to pretty much the biggest company in Remnant. She's honestly surprised her time at beacon (about a day) hasn't gotten any weirder.
*THUNK*
At least until a person fell out of the tree she cut down.
Ruby ran over to see if the person that just fell was alright, when she noticed some details about the person facedown in the dirt. First of all, the girl looked a bit older than Ruby, and she was wearing a green outfit, similar to the camouflage atlas uses. If it wasn't for her darker skin tone, Ruby would say that it was someone from the Atlesian military. Other things that Ruby noted, was a duffel bag on her back, and some kind of silver cloth around her neck. The most worrying thing about the girl was the bandage on her right arm, meaning either that her aura was broken or had been, or the more dangerous option, she didn't have an aura at all. "Um, are you... okay?" Ruby asked, making sure she hadn't accidentally killed someone. As the girl got up, Ruby saw her face. The two things Ruby primarily noticed was the scar on the girl's cheek, presumably usually hidden by the now fully visible dirty grey bandana around her neck, and her eyes a dull silver, much like Ruby's own. As the two looked at each other, the girl looked alarmed, and if Ruby had to guess why, it was her eyes. She'd never seen anybody with eyes like her besides her mom, so it could be reasoned that this girl was in the same boat. "Your eyes are silver." The girl says in an unrecognizable accent, almost matter-of-factly. "Yeah, they always have been. My name's Ruby." Ruby responded, hoping to possibly have a friend this year. The girl seemed hesitant, as if she had something to hide, but answered anyway. "Zîv." Zîv paused before asking a question. "This may sound weird, but where are we?" Now this question absolutely befuddled Ruby. "How do you not know where we are? Are you not from Vale?" Ruby heard Zîv mutter something along the lines of "You could say that", and decided to tell her. " We're at Beacon Academy! The place where huntsmen and huntresses learn to combat the Grimm!" Zîv seemed to be taking notice of everything she said, from the most minute detail, even though Ruby had only said two sentences. "So, what are you doing here?" Zîv asked, probably the most reasonable question she'd asked Ruby so far. "We're supposed to collect relics to be assigned into teams for our time here." "Huh, so you guys will be headed back to civilization in a while?" Zîv asked. "Yeah." Ruby responded. "Is it okay if I follow you guys back? I'm very lost." Zîv asked, which confused Ruby slightly, as how did she get here if she wasn't from Vale, let alone not know about Beacon, but Ruby's hope for a friend besides her sister won out over her caution. Besides, Zîv hadn't tried to harm her, and she seemed nice, although a bit cautious. "I'm okay with it, but you'd have to make sure it's also okay with-" Ruby panicked, realizing that Weiss must've not had realized Ruby had stopped. Ruby looked off in the direction she saw Weiss heading in. "Zîv, could you grab my hand and hold on tight?" Ruby asked the tan skinned girl. "Okay? But why do you-" Zîv never got to finish her sentence as Ruby used her semblance to speed towards where Weiss was, with Zîv screaming all the way.

"... Speaking of which, What did you use as relics this year? Professor Ozpin?"
Ozpin was looking at the cameras posted around Emerald forest. In one of them, he saw a blur of black and green fly through the frame, leaving rose petals in its wake.
It appears those two have met.
Ozpin starts to turn around, about to answer Glynda.
I wonder what those two might be capable of, both on their own and with others.
A/N: Yes, I did say that we'd be getting through initiation this chapter. It was a lot, so I decided that I would split it into two chapters, which is why this chapter doesn't hit the 1,000 word mark. Please review, so I can see what I need to improve on.
