Everyone turned to Harry but he didn't turn to face them. Thoughts zigzagged across his brain. He held the crumpled letter in his hand almost annoyed with himself that he didn't read it aloud. Everyone stared at him until he finally said '' hermione's gone'' he paused and shuddered before saying '' suicide'' A gasp could be heard emitting from the family's matriarch.
'' hermione killed herself'' she hiccuped.
Harry finally lifted his head and everyone saw the tears trailing down his cheeks. '' it's all my fault'' he whispered. '' I turned her away'' he said. '' I said she wasn't good enough and I made her turn away''
Ginny grasped her husbands shaking hands and pulled him into a hug '' it's going to be okay'' she whispered into his ear.
'' She said she was sorry. She believed she wasn't good enough for anyone. I made her feel that way. But she wanted to thank us for taking her in and providing her a temporary home and family. She also thanked you both'' he said gesturing to Molly and Arthur '' for saving her that night. She thanked you both for being her rocks in a world she never deemed could be real. She said she was sorry she was the second choice. However she refused to apologise for sticking by my side through everything because she wanted all of our future kids to grow up in a safe world'' he gasped before following in with '' she wants them to know their aunt Mi is looking out for them even if she isn't around''
Molly could be heard sobbing into her husbands chest.
Harry continued after rescanning the parchment '' she said she couldn't come back, she couldn't face rejection again. She said that the day we saw her last her parents died. She truly lost everything. She said she couldn't come back because the glamours could only go so far'' Harry couldn't even say the next line so he passed the letter to Ginny.
Tears increased when Ginny read out the line ''the mud blood scar is practically invisible now''. Everyone there knew of the tragic night at Malfoy manor and what the repercussions had on hermione. For her to dismiss them, they know it was bad. They all felt the grief of their actions that night. They all promised to honour her wishes and tell their kids about their heroic aunt Mi who saved the world just for them to live.
Harry sat there he cried. He cried for his failure. For his ability to act first think later and most of all for the person who never once wavered in their belief for him. His sister in all but blood. His Mi.
