Daichi walked away from the inarizaki cabin with a goal on his mind, to find whose handwriting was on this note. could be anyone really, so he started walking to the nearest cabin and knocked on the door.
"oh my god Tanaka shut the fuck up we're not doing that" ennoshita opened the door and turned his attention to Daichi "oh hi Daichi what do you need
"ask him if he wants to join us" someone calls from inside the cabin "it would be fun"
"NO!" ennoshita yells "that's disgusting why we ever would do that much less with Daichi"
"whatever his loss" the voice grumbles
"um, am I interrupting something?" Daichi asks concerned about what's going on "I can come by later"
"oh no it's fine, Tanaka is just being stupid and suggesting something incredibly stupid and disgusting and very unholy" ennoshita glared at Tanaka then looked back "anyway Daichi what did you want"
"I wanted to ask if you recognized this handwriting and if so who" Daichi hands the paper to ennoshita
"ooooooooooooh" a nishinoya runs over jumps on ennoshita "did Daichi get a love note"
"uh no if anything a threat" ennoshita shakes off nishinoya and hands back the note "I don't recognize it at all so I don't think any of them will and it's best you don't talk to them. right now...it's not so good... well I'll tell you if it strikes me whose that might be"
"thank you ennoshita" Daichi takes back the note "and are you gonna be okay"
"uh no but I'll manage" ennoshita laughs wearily "it's chaotic for sure and I don't know how but they got onto a rather nasty topic and no one should be forced to join it"
"uh bye, I guess" Daichi waves bye and walks away. headed to the next cabin he had the hopes this one wouldn't be as bad but it was Nekoma he was talking about so... he got to the door and it was opened before he could knock
"sorry Daichi-san but please hurry," lev said panicky "kenma-san might actually kill someone"
"I uh ok" Daichi took the note and handed it to lev "do you recognize this handwriting"
"I don't but I'll ask the others" lev walked over to where kuroo and yaku were holding an emotionally unstable and violent kenma in place "do any of you recognize this handwriting"
"hold on let me get a lo- ah fuck" kuroo said before getting hit in the face
"kuroo I swear to god if you don't let me have my GameBoy, I WILL commit arson" kenma squirmed trying to get out of kuroo and yaku's hold "and I don't care who is in the cabin"
"kenma you're delusional right now," yaku said trying to hold to kenma "you didn't bring your GameBoy only your phone and Nintendo switch"
"do I need to go," Daichi asks, staying back from kenma's range of attack
"have Yamamoto look at it," yaku said "he knows more people than me"
"uh okay" Daichi looks around the room to sees he's not there "where is he"
"don't tell me he snuck off to Tanaka's cabin" yaku groaned slowly getting up "lev you take my place in holding down kenma, I got to go whoop someone's ass"
"uh okay" lev and yaku take trade places
"so yaku do you recognize this handwriting" Daichi shows yaku the paper
"it looks familiar but I can't place my finger on it," yaku says with a shrug "I got to go now"
with that, yaku left and Daichi followed suit to go to the next cabin. damn was he wrong about Nekoma not being worse. were all teams this chaotic or was it just his and Nekoma. he got to the next cabin and knocked. this time with no screaming or running, the door opened
"uh yeah hold on goshiki," tendou said opening the door "hi Daichi-san, do you need anything"
"do you recognize this handwriting" Daichi holds out the paper "if so whose is it
"no, the only people I really hang out with are Oikawa,suga, yams, and my team" tendou shakes his head "you can ask everyone else they might know"
"thank you" Daichi went into the cabin and started asking if anyone recognizes the handwriting
"no"
"ehhh Nah, I only hang out with kogane and the team occasionally Hinata"
"I don't recognize it"
"Sorry no, I don't"
Daichi got his answers and continued to the next cabin, Aoba johsei, one comparable to karasuno and Nekoma. there wasn't the full team but Daichi knew from suga anywhere Oikawa was chaos was almost bound to follow. he got to the cabin and knocked on the door he heard screaming and it took a minute till the door opened.
"what do you need Daichi," iwazumi said tiredly as if he just had to round up a bunch of kids
"I wanted to ask if you recognized this handwriting," Daichi asked
"no, but let me get Oikawa he knows more people than the whole team combined" iwazumi disappeared into the chaos of the cabin-it was hard to tell what was going on- and dragged Oikawa over to the door "Oikawa do you recognize this handwriting"
"uh hold on, let me look" Oikawa stood up and grabbed the paper "let's see, I've seen yams showed me a similar handwriting but it's not his, and this is different in many ways and kuroo once show me something too same handwriting as what yams show me so possibly Tsuki ask him about this. although there are many differences between the notes they showed me and this one, small things that make each handwriting unique. like it looks like it was written by the same hand just different people you know what I mean"
"I uh wow" Daichi was astounded by what all Oikawa had just said "thank you"
"no problem" Oikawa "tell suga I said hi"
"I will bye" Daichi continued to the next cabin which happened to be the first-years so he could ask Yamaguchi about the handwriting. he got to the cabin and knocked, Yamaguchi opened the door
"oh hi Daichi-san," Yamaguchi said cheerfully "is there anything you need"
I wanted to ask if you recognized this handwriting" Daichi handed Yamaguchi the paper
"It reminds me of Tsuki's," Yamaguchi said after analyzing the paper "the thing is I wouldn't say it was Tsuki's, it's blotchy and messier-Tsuki makes a point to keep his handwriting neat, and some many other things that make this not his. I can even get him to write something down for you"
"thank you" Daichi was getting so many loose ends and nothing entirely made sense, he's been told that this looks like tsukishima's handwriting and it wasn't tsukishima's. and no one else recognized it, he needed to figure this out since there is a confirmed murdered among them. "that would be helpful"
"ok hold" Yamaguchi walks into the cabin
"hey Tsuki could you write down that song you wanted me to listen to"
"did you already forget, fine give me a second"
"thank you, Tsuki"
"there you go, don't lose this I won't tell you again"
"I won't don't worry" Yamaguchi comes back and hands him the paper "there you go Daichi-san"
Yamaguchi was right they were similar but not enough to be the same person, which made him think back to what Oikawa had said
'same hand different people'
what was he going to do this was all so confusing
"thank you Yamaguchi" Daichi needed to continue on no matter how confusing this was
"no problem"
with that Daichi continued to on to the next cabin which was his but he walked on by since the only person in there would be Asahi since suga is busy cleaning. and Daichi knows Asahi has no social life besides karasuno. so that took him to akaashi's cabin. he knocked and no one answered
"hello anyone in there," Daichi asked and he heard shuffling
"hold on" a very emotionally tired akaashi opened the door "what do you need Daichi-san"
"Are you alone right now?" Daichi asked
"yeah," akaashi says nonchalantly "Komori and Akagi went over to atsumu's cabin when they got a phone call that they needed them for something, I don't know what"
Daichi winced at how he used atsumu's name as if he were still alive, akaashi didn't know so it wasn't weird for him, but it just reminded Daichi that he would eventually need to break the news to everyone
"What did I say something wrong," akaashi asked when he noticed how Daichi reacted to what he said
"no, it's nothing," Daichi told himself 'not now' and definitely not to akaashi being as emotionally fragile as he is right now "just do you recognize this handwriting"
"uh, a little" akaashi said confused "why?"
"Nothing important," Daichi said avoiding the topic "I got to go and ask the girls, they might know whose it is"
"uh okay," akaashi said closing the door "bye Daichi-san"
"bye"
Daichi walked over to the main building to ask the girls. they were the last people left to ask. on his way there suga stopped him
"hey Daichi, sorry to interrupt whatever you're doing but what did suna need," suga asked curiously "he looked a little panicked, at least as panicked as suna could be"
"he uh there is no easy way to say this" Daichi sighed "they found atsumu *sigh* dead"
"NO" suga covered his mouth in shock
"Sadly I'm not lying"
"oh my god," suga looked like a weird combination of about to cry and pity for his team? Daichi couldn't really tell what emotion was on his face it looked like five "I can uh help them clean"
"you sure" Daichi wasn't sure how suga would react to seeing the body it was much much worse compared to bokuto
"yeah..." suga said wearily
"well if you feel uncomfortable don't feel obligated to help, we'll deal with it later" Daichi reassured suga
"I'm fine," suga said "go do whatever you wanted to do I'll be fine"
"uh okay" Daichi reluctantly started to head upstairs to where the girls stayed
"Yachi you should try this makeup I think it would suit your complexion" Alisa showed Yachi some make up
"eh I'm not sure" Yachi looked at the makeup nervously "makeup isn't my thing"
"you shouldn't force her Alisa" Saeko laughed and looked over to notice Daichi "hi Daichi what do you need"
"Nothing much" Daichi walked over to where the girls were "I just wanted to ask if any of you recognized this handwriting"
"nope" Saeko laughs "why do you need to know"
"no reason" Daichi responded
"I don't recognize it either," Alisa said
"not really," Kiyoko says thinking
"Yamaguchi showed me a note in a similar handwriting a while back that he got from tsukishima," Yachi says giving Daichi information he already had
"that's the only thing I've been told today but it's not tsukishima's" Daichi gave a sigh of defeat
"well maybe someone forged it" Kiyoko suggested "did you think of that"
"oh my god," Daichi face-palmed "I didn't think of that"
"well maybe somebody forged it to frame tsukishima but couldn't quite do it" Alisa added
"yeah thank you, girls," Daichi said as he headed for the stair "bye
"no problem"
with that Daichi's first investigation was finished
A.N. this was made faster than normal, maybe because I wanted to write the karasuno second years crackhead stuff like I'm debating on whether or not I should make a whole chapter about their conversation earlier it was fun to write.
also, I know akaashi doesn't seem the emotional wreck Akagi and Komori say he is but he would probably have an emotional breakdown if you mentioned bokuto and now he's lost a pretty setter.
I'm gonna cry when I write the next part because I don't want to write it for reasons I'll explain later after it is written and posted it
