Sophie: BookShipper13 owns nothing
BK13: Yep. Lets goo!
Keefe POV:
I walked to school with my friends Lucas, Fawn, and Alex. We trudge through the snow to just barely make it to class before the bell rings. We rushed into 9ER. Miss Rebeca, our teacher, was outside talking with our principal. We headed to our seats, right smack in the middle of the class. We sat down Alex, Lucas, me, an empty chair, and Fawn. There was only one spare seat from a kid who left earlier that year. Miss Rebeca stood at the front of the class "Alright class, today we have a new student," she announced. Just then a girl walked into the class. "Everyone meet Sophie Foster." I almost fell out of my chair.
"Hi everyone. Um, miss Rebeca, where should I sit?" Sophie asked, turning to our teacher.
"Well Sophie, would you be fine if you sat in the middle next to Keefe and Fawn?"
"I'm fine with that. Thank you." She smiled at everyone on our row and sat down. I spent the rest of the class staring at Sophie in disbelief. I couldn't focus during history and math, with her sitting next to me. As the bell rang for break everyone scrambled to get outside and eat snacks before we had to rush to our next class. Sophie got up and walked with Fawn talking about the equation we did in class. Alex, and Lucas came up next to me. "Do you know her?" Lucas asked "When Miss Rebeca said her name you looked like you saw a ghost."
"Yah. What was with that?" Alex interrupted.
"Oh she's just has the same name as someone I used to know"
"Suuurreee," they said in synchrony.
"Anyway let's hurry up. I wanna go outside before break is over."
"Ok. Come on," Alex yelled running down the hall.
Sophie and Fawn were outside huddled together on a bench in the covered area. A bunch of other people were standing around them asking Sophie questions. As we neared them we heard what they were saying. "Hey Sophie where did you go to school before?" "Where are you from?" "Do you have any siblings?" "Why are you here now?" "Did something in your old school make you leave?" "Ok, ok guys I can answer questions but you have to go one at a time." Sophie said."To answer the questions I heard, my old school was a small school called Foxfire. I know it's the name of a fungus, I also find it weird. I was born in San Diego but then moved to a small city near Foxfire. Don't ask me what it's called, it's too complicated. I have an adopted sister. I'm here because my parents sent me to live with my adoptive family nearby. And no, nothing about my school made me leave, I wanted to go because I haven't seen my family since I was twelve."
Sophie POV:
The bell rang and Keefe, Fawn, and I went to Intermediate Languages, Alex and Lucas went to beginners. "All right Sophie," said Fawn "This is our class." As we entered Mr Fowler looked at me and said "I'm going to test you to see what you know." Mr Fowler spent 10 minutes testing me. By the end the whole class could all see how well I could speak any language he tried. Keefe watched me with a smirk knowing why I was so good. Mr Fowler said "Sophie you are the most amazing linguist I've ever taught. Sadly I think I will not be able to teach you any more than you already know. The only thing I can think of you to do during this class is help the other students or to pick a new class. It's your choice." Sophie thought of it for a second and replied "Thank you sir but I think I will stay in your class and help the others." The rest of the class was me helping the others and before we knew it, it was lunch.
During lunch everyone asked to sit at my table. Lucas kept grumbling "They never wanted to sit with us before," Fawn kept nudging Alex, and Keefe ate silently. Everyone wanted to talk to me and I was growing tired of it. I just wanted to talk to Keefe and bring him home. My classmates' minds were so loud. I had to concentrate on my wall so their voices wouldn't overwhelm me, and I was getting tired. I was about to tell them to go away when the bell rang. That bell will always be my savior. Fawn grabbed my hand and dragged me toward our next class, science. I remembered now hard it was to transition from science to alchemy and now I had to do it again. In this class none of Keefe's friends were here. Fawn so far had been a great help getting to and from different classes and being my partner when needed. I was worried about people working with me but apparently it was needless. A big group of people at the back called for me to sit with them. I started heading there but then I saw a girl who was all alone and sat with her. She looked up surprised and whispered "Hi you don't have to sit here. It looks like the guys back there want you to sit with them." She said pointing to the group in the back glaring at her. I shook my head and said "I much rather sit here. If that is ok?"
"Ok, I guess. I'm Amaline."
The bell rang and I got up from my table with Amaline. Science was so much harder than any of the other subjects. I had to remember science from underneath my alchemy and kept messing up luckily we weren't doing any experiments for the next few days. I said "Goodbye," to Amaline as the bell rang and started walking out of school. Keefe saw me and left his friends to jog after me. I started heading towards the forest so I could talk to him without the humans over hearing. When I was far enough to not hear any nearby minds, I stopped. "Foster!" Keefe called.
"Hey Keefe." I said turning around.
"What are you doing here?" he asked
I crossed my arms "Right now I'm talking to you."
"You know what I mean. What are you doing in this town."
"I'm staying here for a month," I said "I'm going to try to convince you to come back to the lost cities."
"Yeah that's not happening . You sure there is no other reason?" He said.
"Nope. And I'm staying in a house out pretty far in the forest if you want to find me," I said waving him off and started walking again, "Oh and I met Kit on the way to school. He invited me to dinner so I'll be seeing you later."
I thank everyone who has reviewed so far. I specifically thank Guest for giving me the idea about her staying with her family.
