Code Anti-Life
The Monitor wasn't in the best health now; his recent battle with the Anti-Monitor had weakened him, along with the slowly shrinking multiverse. But he wasn't the subject of concern as both Harbinger and Pariah were standing aboard the Waverider, Ray had his ATOM glove on, aimed at Pariah, along with Ava with her own pistol, and both New Justice Kara and the Hitchhiker Kayla Lane having their eyes lit up at him, ready to attack.
"I'm not here to spy on you," Pariah stated, his hands still in the air.
"Why should we believe you?" New Justice Kara was the one to ask this, just as Mutant Earth's Kara and Barry appeared in the Waverider's control room, this Kara holding one of her twins as she observed the scene.
"Because…" Pariah stated, not sure what to say to this.
"Because he saved our lives," Harbinger stated, shaken from the concentrated attack of the Anti-Monitor on her person, but in better condition than her own master. "Mine and the Monitor's lives. But we need to get him to the medical wing – he's not in good shape," she added of the Monitor.
Rae and Mutant Barry shared a look and in a flash of light, they had taken the larger man out of the room and to the medical wing, but both returning a moment later, not having missed any of the conversation.
"You saved their lives?" New Justice Kara was obviously still taking the lead as she eyed Pariah up and down, Harbinger staying by his side, surprisingly.
"I thought I didn't have a choice, that I had to follow the Anti-Monitor's word, but Harbinger here told me otherwise, I was manipulated by the Anti-Monitor," Pariah explained.
"You still answer to him though," Harbinger stated, a little cautiously now.
"I hear him calling to me yes, and I will have to return to him but–" Pariah was explaining but was interrupted by the A.I. Snart.
"The wave of Anti-Matter has reached New Justice Earth, it is the next world in its path," the A.I. stated, a note of sympathy in his voice. New Justice Kara took deep breath. They had theorized it would be her world next, but now she knew it.
"Damn," Rae moaned, stroking her black cat Sha're at this; her dog Daniel had since gone to explore the rest of the Waverider.
"We need to get there – now!" New Justice Kara stated, directing her attention back to the console now, where the voice of Snart seemed to come from.
"We're already there," the A.I. stated, Kara turning to Cisco now.
"I need to get onto the surface, my League need to know one of their leaders are still there," she told Cisco, who nodded. Kara and Rae had left after the red skies appeared with not even a word to the rest of the League. Chris had been there to tell Sara to take the lead, but now with Crisis here she needed to get ahead again.
"I'll vibe us to your Central-National City," Cisco stated.
"Good enough," New Justice Kara nodded as he opened a portal, Kara jumping through it. After a momentary pause, Hitchhiking Kayla and Cisco himself moved through before the portal closed.
"That leaves us with three worlds left," Pariah stated, "I've been counting."
"Harbinger," Sara now stated, having thought it through. "Get Pariah to the medical bay, we can keep an eye on him there – along with the Monitor."
"Sure thing," Harbinger stated, taking Pariah by the arm who didn't argue this.
-Crisis on Infinite Millma Earths-
The portal opened on the streets of Central National, the three heroes jumping through but pausing for a moment as they took in how… normal it was.
"It's… it's fine," New Justice Kara paused, looking up at the skies to see it was still clear of red, albeit cloudy.
"Everything is normal…?" Kayla frowned at this before seeing the three of them had gained some attention, she shrugged to herself. "No red in the sky at all."
"I'm confused," Cisco said himself. This was the next world in the path of the anti-matter but it could be any other Sunday.
"Supergirl!" A woman said and the three turned to her; they were all in their hero outfits, after all. "And Premo…? When did you grow your hair?" Cisco raised an eyebrow but decided not to comment on this. "Anyway, good job getting rid of those red skies. We can always count on the Justice League."
"Of course," Kara said, the woman giving Kayla a confused look before seeming to shrug it off and move off. "What have the nerds done now…?" Kara sighed to herself as she watched the woman walked away.
"Kara?" The familiar voice of Adam Cray, her world's Ray Palmer, spoke into her coms.
"Hey, Atom, what's going on?" Kara stated, focusing her attention on this conversation while Cisco and Kayla looked on.
"Well, you and Rae vanished, so Sara came in as Third, but Watchtower initiated something called Code Anti-Life and… well, it's best you get here. Oh, and the Waverider just turned up, wanting to dock," Adam stated, Kara sighed.
"Let them dock. It's where I've been," Kara said in to the coms "I'm on my way – be in Watchtower in a moment," She turned to Cisco and Kara at this. "We need to get to my Watchtower. There's a Zap Tunnel just down the street."
"You forget I'm Vibe, right?" Cisco chuckled, opening yet another portal and indicating for Kara and Kayla to move through. Kara rolled her eyes but did anyway.
…
Once on Watchtower, Kara was able to get the full scope of the situation as all three of her nerds were here. Splitsville's Waverider was also present, having already docked with the space station Watchtower, her fellow multiverse heroes joining them in the space station.
"Where did you go?" It was New Justice's Sara who asked this, she had her daughter, Kathleen in her arms as Kara looked around to those gathered, the two leaders giving a nod to each other. Sara knew with Kara here; she was in charge and Sara was now second.
"We had to leave," Kara stated, going over to the computers to look things over.
"Where's our Rae?" Winn was the one to ask this, noticing the only Rae with them wasn't theirs – she was too young.
"Hi again," Splitsville Rae stated, ignoring asking for her older self. This was New Justice Rae's world after all, and Rae had asked for her as well.
"Hi," Mon gave her a wave while Winn gave the girl a nod.
"Rae's safe – I hope. She's a Paragon and… it's a long story," Kara stated, "but can someone explain this Code Anti-Life thing and what happened to the red skies?"
"The red skies are still there," Red Tornado appeared at this, their link between the old League and their current one. "If you observe from the windows…" Kara frowned at the robot but shrugged as she moved over to the window to look out – she could see blue lines coming from the Watchtower, linking to satellites in the distance, but beyond this, in deeper space, she could see the hint of red – and no stars.
"The anti-matter has consumed a lot of the universe already," Mon was the one to say this, "but Code Anti-Life kept us safe."
"And am I going to have this Code Anti-Life explained to me, or am I going to have to punch one of you for it?" Kara turned to her nerds, not sure if she was joking or not.
"Code Anti-Life was integrated into the system by Bruce Wayne," Red Tornado stated, unfazed by the challenge. "He had many plans, many theories on alien invasions and 'bad guys' – one was an attack on the planet using anti-matter. He set up several Wayne satellites to instigate a continuous pure matter burst to protect the planet in such an attack. This is Code Anti-Life."
"You had this technology the entire time?" It was Mutant Kara who had appeared in Watchtower from the Waverider with SuperEarth Barry. Her Barry having gone back to the nursery with their child. "Why wasn't this mentioned?"
"I didn't know about it," New Justice Kara told her alternate, honestly. "I doubt Rae knew either."
"Or she forgot to mention it," Adam spoke up, making eyes turn to him. "She does tend to forget things."
"Nerds," New Justice Kara warned, and Adam shut up. Kara knew her nerd was right though; Rae did just sometimes forget to tell them things until the last second. "So, Code Anti-Life?"
"Code Anti-Life, for an alien attack," New Justice Sara stated. "But what we don't know is what this attack is."
"It's Crisis," Mutant Earth's Kara spoke up. "The red skies are anti-matter from the Anti-Monitor. We've been through this on multiple worlds, trying to stop it."
"He won't stop the attack," SuperEarth's Barry stated. He had cooled down since his world's death, but it had subdued him somewhat.
"But this is holding it back," New Justice Kara mused, looking back to the window. "I wonder…"
"If we can adapt these specs to the Waverider and get them to the remaining worlds?" Spiltsville's Sara concluded, smirking at this.
"Read my mind," Kara grinned at her multiverse friend.
-Crisis on Infinite Millma Earths-
Back inside the Waverider, in the medical bay, Zari was looking over the Monitor while Pariah was kept at bay behind force fields.
"Do you usually use force fields as prisons?" Pariah asked, curious as he held out his hand, only to meet resistance.
"We do have this plexiglass cell thing we used to use," Zari stated, distractedly as she looked over the Monitor's reading, "but my team tend to just use force fields in the labs now."
"Plus, Mick took over that areas as his writing room," the A.I. Snart added in. "It's for peace and quiet."
"I did not know that one," Zari stated, pausing. "And I have no idea what I'm looking at here for the Monitor."
"He's not exactly human," Harbinger stated, glancing at the medical scans on the screen that had baffled Zari.
"Whatever is happening to the Monitor, I cannot fix it," the A.I. Snart stated.
"No, you wouldn't be able to," Harbinger mused. "The Monitor is pure matter, he's linked to all the matter in the multiverse and as that's now in short supply…"
"Meanwhile, the Anti-Monitor is getting more powerful," Pariah added, sadly.
"Why did you release him then?" Zari asked, turning her attention to Pariah now, not having been part of the group given the history lesson.
"Oh, let him off, he didn't exactly have a choice," Harbinger dismissed absentmindedly.
"That's entirely not true. I did have a choice. I could have not let my uncle convince me, but I was… manipulated. He used my nephew to manipulate me," Pariah sighed, remembering Quex suggesting using his nephew, Ty-Ver, instead of Gal – something Gal refused to let him do.
"I'm confused," Zari spoke. "One of you acts all mopey and sad over it all, and the other one goes in all guns firing without a care in the world. Hell, you even sent the Paragons away on orders and without remorse," she added to Harbinger.
"That's because of how they were made," the Monitor stated, weakly, on the bed now, as all eyes turned toward him. He'd just woken. "Harbinger does what needs to be done, her past cannot hold her, while Pariah is only to watch; it doesn't matter what he feels or does, the Anti-Monitor doesn't care. He prefer Pariah be poignant for his mistake as he watches."
"That explains why I don't miss my world or Barry," Harbinger paused at this – she had been close to her brother, Barry back when he was alive, and missed him dreadfully when he died, even before being recruited by the Monitor, but now it was like a disassociation with her past life
"I wish I could be like that," Pariah bemoaned. "I've seen billions of worlds destroyed, so many Flashes, Supergirl, Supermen, Martians – you name it – die to try and defend their planet, and each time it kills a part of me."
"I cannot help you with that," the Monitor groaned. "I have been severely weakened."
"If it helps," the A.I. Snart spoke up, "New Justice are using pure matter to power a protective grid that surrounds their planet. I have been given access to it, I can divert a small amount of energy to help restore Mar Novu to strength?"
"Try it," Harbinger stated, knowing it was his only option.
-Crisis on Infinite Millma Earths-
The three nerds of New Justice – Adam, Winn, and Jess – were using their own A.I., MIA, and connecting her to the AI Snart who Ray was using to download the plans for Code Anti-Life. Tommy, his sidekick Sideways, and Selina had since onboard, carrying large boxes. Helen, Selina daughter with Bruce, was with her.
"Selina, what are you doing here?" Adam asked, surprised at Batwoman's – formerly Catwoman – appearance here.
"STAR Labs sent us," Tommy stated, putting the box down, Sara moving over to her husband "and we wanted to make sure the kids were safe," he moved over to Sara, looking over his young daughter in her arms with a smile.
"Weapons," Adam smirked, looking in the crate.
"Yeah, HP and HR and mocked them up using the same tech currently running from Watchtower," Selina stated, referencing the Wells siblings who ran STAR Labs, HR and his sister, HP.
"These will come in handy," Mutant Earth's Kara mused, picking one up.
"If they repel anti-matter, it would be effective against the Anti-Monitor and his Dementors," SuperEarth Barry's added.
"There's a lot to unpack from that sentence," Selina frowned at this.
"Which is time we do not have," Red Tornado stated, "One of the satellites keeping Code Anti-Life up has been breached."
"On it," Jess said. "MIA, start the backup. Use a STAR Labs satellite one."
"Backup is on," MIA said moments later.
"We have been adding the Anti-Life code to other satellites to take the spot should one of the Wayne ones go down," Adam explained fast. "But they are not as good as the original."
"That means we're running out of time," New Justice Kara said. Looking around the room and looking out a window she could see the Anti-Monitor was there, looking in at them. He was still being kept away from the planet though and kept at bay by Code Anti-Life.
"That's just creepy," Sara said looking at the man as others noticed him.
-Crisis-
Inside the Waverider's medical wing, the Monitor seemed to be getting weaker – the plan to reroute some of the pure matter energy from Watchtower hadn't worked and they were lost on what to do. Even Zari had left to speak to her Ray for help.
"This is my fault," Pariah stated, looking at the man.
"No, it's not. It was meant to be. The Anti-Monitor was going to be released eventually," Harbinger sighed. "I fear that New Justice isn't going to last long."
"And with only two worlds left out of millions…" Pariah groaned. "You know, even those worlds the Speed Force tried to help enhance didn't last long."
"You know about that?" Harbinger paused at this.
"Of course. The Monitor knew, so the Anti-Monitor knew, meaning I knew. Splitsville and Red Daughter didn't stand a chance, but some of the other fought well – I mean, Arrow Earth devised a whole black hole plot to suck the Anti-Monitor in; I had hoped that would stop him, but sadly not. Different Power had a unique weapon, tied to their blue sun, but it wasn't a match to Anti-Monitor, while Broken Earth tried – Superman was a big player in trying to stop the Anti-Monitor, but it was in vain. Blue came the closest. Their invention could have killed the Anti-Monitor if they had thought to deal with the shadows as well. Although it was a world that wasn't visited by New Justice Rae and Prime Barry that did came almost as close as Blue Earth. Alien. They had this machine that combined various alien tech, the Supergirl, Valor and the Flash of that world working well with their own League..." Pariah looked beyond them as he reflected back on this unique use of defense againse his own master.
"Why are you telling us this?" Harbinger asked, snapping at Pariah now.
"I… I don't know," Pariah paused at this, frowning.
"I do," the Monitor groaned from his spot, gaining consciousness again. "It's too late to save the multiverse. It's too far gone."
"You can't give up hope," Harbinger groaned, turning back to her master.
"I have not. But there is a place where I can gain some restoration, where the Paragons will have to go too, to restore the multiverse," the Monitor stated.
"They can restore the multiverse?!" Pariah stated, eyes wide at this statement.
"The World Forge," Harbinger, however, nodded, knowing this automatically. "But it can only be accessed by gaining safe passage through one of the Seven Forces of the Universes. The Speed Force would never let me through., though – she will never let you in as you burned that bridge the minute that young Rae on Karry died. But she is the most active Force in trying to help."
"Then you have to try the others. Go to the other six. The Emotional Spectrum, the Life Force, Sphere of the Gods, Dimensional Superstructure, Collective Unconscious, or Faithfulness. Convince one of them to help us. We only need one to say yes," the Monitor stated, ignoring the mention to the Rae who had been a victim of his test on Karry. "The fate of reality is in your hands, Harbinger."
"Okay," Harbinger nodded, glancing to Pariah now before she vanished in a flash of light.
"So that's what you meant by a backup system," Pariah moaned to the Monitor. "The Paragons can bring it all back in the World Forge."
"There's no point hiding it anymore. New Justice is almost gone and only two worlds now remain," the Monitor sighed, laying his head back down and moaning as Pariah frowned at the Monitor, his mind running a mile a minute.
-Crisis-
New Justice Kara ran to the one device she never thought she was going to use without Rae, but since Rae was on away, she could.
"Kara Zor-El, Supergirl, activate Code Dominate," Kara said right away, putting hand on the palm print and letting it scan her eyes.
"Does number two agree?" The computer asked.
"Sara Lance, White Canary, activate Code Dominate," Sara added, confusing the multiverse people.
The Army Generals of the world appeared on the screen. "Madam President," Samuel Lane said. "Wait, no Flash?"
"Yeah, yeah, no time to explain," Kara said ignoring the General saluting her and questioning the lack of Rae. "We need your satellites. Reroute them to our systems now."
"On it," the Generals said and disappeared from the screen.
"Nerds, keep Code Anti-Life going as long as possible, everyone else take a matter weapon. When a Dementor comes through, attack it. If you see Creepy outside, get him too. We're going to buy the Prime and Karry as much time as we can," New Justice Kara said, nodding to her multiverse friends, an unspoken agreement coming over the others.
"We… we need to go," Mutant Kara said to those of her group who remained. She had already sent SuperEarth Barry back on the ship with everyone else but her, Kayla, and Splitsville Rae. They had taken one of the pure matter weapons as they were calling them to have the A.I Snart replicate the device.
"Not me," New Justice Kara said. "I'm not going anywhere. This is my world, my league. I am in charge of it now. I will fight until the end. Go down with the ship, I believe the phrase is. It's what Rae would do. Where is everyone else?" The entire League had not been in Watchtower, meaning not all of them had the matter weapons.
"Out in different cities," Winn spoke up. "Too bad Rae is not here. She could get them all weapons."
"But she is," it was Splitsville Rae who spoke up. "Well, at least one is." New Justice Kara looked at this Rae – both her animals must still be in the Waverider because she was alone. Something in her was telling her to help. To fight. Run towards the danger not away from it. "I'll get these to your League." Splitsville Rae grabbed the box and ran through the zap tunnel before anyone could stop her.
"You need to go," New Justice Kara told her alternate and Kayla. "Take Kathleen and Helen with you," The two girls were still in Watchtower, along with Sara, while Tommy and Selina had gone out to fight along with Sideways. Sara gave a nod as she handed her daughter to the other Kara and got Helen to take Kayla's hand. She didn't want to leave her daughter, but she wouldn't turn her back on her world when it needed her the most.
"Make it hurt," Mutant Kara said, seeing she wasn't changing her alternate mind.
"We will," New Justice Kara said with a smirk as Mutant Kara went to head back into the ship.
Kayla was about to join her and then paused. She turned to look at Kara – New Justice had been the first world she had met after Paranormal. New Justice Kara was more like the sister she had lost than anyone else, except for Prime, who she had bonded with while Prime Kara was pregnant with Skye. But this world held a special place in her heart.
New Justice Kara and Sara were going through the zap tunnel to join the fight. "Go with Kara," Kayla said, giving Helen to Mutant Kara.
"What are you doing?" Mutant Kara asked, surprised as Kayla went and grabbed one of the matter weapons.
"There's only three worlds left. It's time to make the tough decisions," Kayla stated as she left through the zap tunnel. Mutant Kara sighed. Three of their crew had decided to make this world their last stand and she couldn't argue with it.
Mutant Kara went into the Waverider with the two kids.
"Sara, time to detach and go," Mutant Kara said, looking out of the windows. The Anti-Monitor was still above the Earth, the nerds and their Code Dominate were keeping the Anti-Life code running but who knew for how long?
-Crisis on Infinite Millma Earths-
On the street of Central-National on New Justice, Kara had a lot of people in her ears. The skies were still blue but every once in a while, red would appear and a Dementor would get through but the matter weapons worked well on the Dementors. They would yell in pain and then disappear when struck and it felt good to Kara after so many worlds of punching at them with almost nothing happening.
"I've got Super Horse," Chris, the younger clone of Clark, whom Kara had adopted as a son said, appearing with the white Kryptonian horse. Sara was more than happy as she jumped on the horse and took off – the pair had a special bond. Chris also had a Kryptonian monkey on his back and Krypto by his side. Kara knew this was Krypto and not Dragon, the Krypto-lookalike dog, taking the role of Superdog right now. "Oh, and I also got him."
"Who?" Kara asked, but a second later there was a flash of light and a Barry was standing there; with him was a puppy Kara knew as one from Krypto and Misty last litter. "Random Barry?" Kara said shocked to see him. She had suspected he had died with his world, WestAllen.
"Here to help," Random Barry said, holding one of the matter weapons. "Grabbed this from that young Rae. I've been protecting Smallville."
Kara gave a nod and smiled as Random Barry ran off to continue defending New Justice. "Supergirl, we managed to get these weapons to both Themyscira and Herculea," it was Donna, Wonder Girl, voice on coms. "Queen Emma and Prince Jace are going to lead the female and male Amazonians in fighting the Dementors."
"Good job," Kara said as she saw a flash of red sky and a Dementor. She was about to aim her weapon at the Dementor when someone else did and she noticed Hitchhiking Kayla had joined her. "What are you doing here?!" Kara asked, shocked.
"Going down with the ship," Kayla said with a smile to Kara.
"I didn't ask you to," Kara said but smiled back. "But we can use all the help we can get." Winn, Adam, and Jess were in her ears still, telling her where people were and how they were doing while also telling her about the code Anti-Life. From the sound of it, the nerds were going through satellites fast. She didn't know how long they had before the Anti-Monitor made it through.
"Big hole over National!" It was Winn voice.
"I can see," Kara said, the flash of red she had seen a moment ago now a hole growing over National. She, Kayla, and Chris already heading for it from the Central side while Sara and Super Horse were already there.
"We're trying to realign the satellites," Jess said.
"But we lost so many," Adam added.
"Due me a favor and stop," Kara said, surprising them. "There's no more delaying it. The Anti-Monitor is getting through. Use what is left of Code Anti-Life to make one last attack instead, focusing on the person causing all this mess."
"Creepy?" Winn asked, this seeming to be the Anti-Monitor's nickname now.
"Yes, on Creepy," Kara didn't know whether to laugh or not at this.
"We're on it," Jess, Winn, and Adam all said together.
"Everyone else, head towards National," Kara said. "We're going to need as many of the handheld devices as possible to keep the Dementors from protecting the Anti-Monitor."
She heard her League obeying and knew they were coming as she, Kayla, and Chris started attacking the Dementors that came through the hole over National which was getting bigger and bigger. Kara could see her League were joining: Donna had come along with the Aquas; Batgirl swinging from the top of building using her device. She kept track in her head of everyone and so she knew when the entire League was, except for the nerds, obviously. All of them fighting – even several of the male and female Amazonians had come from their islands to help. Obviously, the public had taken the good sense seeing the entire League and got off the streets.
Then, finally, the Anti-Monitor appeared. He slammed in the street from above, making it shake and created a crater on his impact. With him, the skies had turned completely red. No more blue skies could be seen
"Our blast is almost ready. Give us some more time," Winn said.
"Time is running out nerds," Kara said, knowing that as fact.
"This world has been a pain," the Anti-Monitor said, standing now, and Kara had to smirk. It seems they had put up the best fight so far.
"That's what we're good at," Kara said, trying to stall as much time for the nerds as she could.
"I will take great pleasure in destroying this world," the Anti-Monitor continued. "PARIAH!" He then yelled at the sky. "Where are you?!"
"He's not listening to you," Kayla said, knowing exactly where Pariah was. It seemed his puppet not being here was slowing the Anti-Monitor down. He wanted Pariah to see this world destruction, obviously.
"You!" the Anti-Monitor said, looking at the Kara and Kayla. Kara could see her League wanting to attack the Anti-Monitor, but held up her hand, telling them to wait. "Tell me. What are the Paragons?"
"The Paragons?" Kara said, moving forward. "They're the best of us. And they will destroy you."
-Crisis on Infinite Millma Earths-
Back on the Waverider, the Monitor let out a gasp of pain as Pariah groaned, watching over the man. He was alone with the Monitor now, and still held back by the force field. He didn't know what his next move was, but he could feel the pull of the Anti-Monitor more and more now.
"He wants you back, Pariah," the Monitor stated, looking at Pariah, knowing exactly what was going through the man's head, "and you must go to him."
"I don't want to," Pariah stated, frowning.
"Don't be so childish. You need to see this through, for better or worse," the Monitor stated.
"But…" Pariah began.
"You may think he'll punish you for your betrayal, but you will come back to him with vital information, he won't be angry at you for long," the Monitor smirked.
"Vital information? I won't tell him any of what you or Harbinger stated," Pariah folded his arms, defiantly.
"Yes, you will," the Monitor snapped. "You need to survive, Gal-El. You're important. Besides, we'll see you again," the Monitor smirked a little now. "At the World Forge."
"He needs to go there too…?" Pariah muttered, unsure if this was a statement or a question.
"Yes. Now go," the Monitor demanded. "Meet your master."
"Okay," Pariah sighed, and in a flash of light, he was gone; the truth being that no jail or forcefield on the Waverider was able to contain him.
"I just hope Harbinger isn't too late…" the Monitor muttered, laying his head back down.
-Crisis on Infinite Millma Earths-
"The final pure matter blast is ready," Adam from New Justice spoke in Kara's ear.
"Nice timing nerds. Go now. Everyone else, hit the Dementors!" Kara now yelled out and all the League started hitting the Dementors with their pure matter weapons as a large burst of matter itself came out of the sky and hit right into the Anti-Monitor. The Justice League, plus Kayla, Random Barry, and the extra Amazonians that were there also started attacking the Dementors.
Kara wasn't sure how long the burst lasted. It felt like hours, but at the most it was maybe a few seconds until it had ended, and Anti-Monitor looked weak from the attack, but strong enough to send a second quake out that knocked league members off their feet.
"PARIAH!" The Anti-Monitor yelled again and this time he was answered. Gal-El, now Pariah, appeared next to him and he was shocked at how wounded Anti-Monitor looked. "Finally..." the Anti-Monitor put a hand on Pariah which made him shudder. "Now I can destroy this world."
"Pariah…?" Kayla paused at seeing the man join the Anti-Monitor again, and shared a look with Kara, wondering what this meant to their multiverse friends on the Waverider, but they also knew that this was it. They would not save the world now, but they would attack together one last time.
"Barry," it was Splitsivlle Rae, appearing in a flash of light now, surprising the other speedster. "Combine speed with me. Let's give one last attack here." Barry gave a nod to Rae and the two started running, Barry going to give her a push at the last second while Kayla and Kara went in for another attack.
At the same time, the Anti-Monitor with his Dementors went to start the final attack on New Justice. The Anti-Matter spreading across to destroy what was left.
-Crisis on Infinite Millma Earths-
Mutant Kara, on the Waverider, brought Kathleen and Helen to the nursery that was getting a bit full. Helen crawled over to join Griffin and Skye on the floor, who were still being entertained by the older Alura and Nora. The twins seemed happy to be around so many other young meta children. Nora Palmer though came up and took Kathleen.
"Be careful with superpowered kids playing with non-superpowered kids," Kara said, nodding to Helen and then looked over at Leona who was still with Mick; part of her realizing the number of kids on board with no parents now. None of them seemed to realize it though as they were more than happy to play with each other.
"Don't worry, we've got this," Mutant's own Caitlin stated. She had been distraught to learn that her world and her husband were gone, but she still had her own daughter, and the distraction of other children – not to mention the three dogs here now in Lara, Clarky and Daniel – were a help.
"Good," Kara gave her friend a weak smile at this, "Kal!"
Kal was standing in a corner, still a little put off by his telling off from Kara earlier, so was just watching but came to Kara when he called. "You want to redeem yourself and make up for what you did?" Kara asked her little cousin.
"More than anything," Kal said.
"Go to the medical wing and keep your eyes on the Monitor," Kara instructed – she didn't trust him and wanted a Kryptonian eye on him. No one on the Waverider knew that both Harbinger and Pariah were gone though.
"Yes ma'am," Kal said happily and ran off, the A.I Snart who had heard obviously giving him directions.
Kara went back to the bridge at this.
"Aren't we missing a Rae?" It was SuperEarth Barry who was asking this. "…and Kara as well?"
The group seeming to look around for them at this question, noticing they were three down.
"And Kayla," Cisco seemed to realize his Hitchhiking buddy was not here.
"They choose to stay on New Justice," Mutant Kara spoke up, knowing she had to tell the crew this. Her own Barry coming up and putting an arm around her.
"What?" SuperEarth Barry said. "I wasn't given that choice with my Earth. You just took me..."
"Your Earth was fast," Kara said to Barry. "I'm sorry but we made quick decisions there. There was time with New Justice. Their Code Anti-Life gave them the time to make choices. The magic on your world wasn't enough. New Justice Kara wanted to lead her League to the death. And I don't know, I guess in that moment Rae and Kayla wanted to go down swinging too. They choose to make New Justice their last stand."
"No…" Cisco suddenly said. "Not Kayla. I can't lose Kayla." He went and put on his goggles to try to vibe Kayla out of New Justice.
"What about New Justice?" Sara was the one to ask this. "If that's gone, there's only two worlds left."
"Prime and Karry Universe," Mutant Barry nodded, the group wondering which world would be targeted next – Karry Universe was the obvious one, as Prime was the first world, but anything could happen in this last stand.
Note: Did anyone see that one coming? New Justice Kara, Hitchhiking Kayla and possibly even Spiltsville Rae choosing New Justice as their last stand. And what world do you think will be next? Prime or Karry? Let me know!
Please REVIEW.
