[Nora Valkyrie]

The streets were serene when I got to leave the train station. It is afternoon, and the orange sky seemed reflected through me and that I am happily walking down the streets. I never managed to get lost, and I was able to ask for directions. I never thought that this place could be this big and that you could end up just in the middle of nowhere. There are alleyways, some stores that you could run into, and some bed space rooms or houses where some people live.

Now I started to wonder what I am going to do. There are no people when I got to an alleyway but then I heard voices, laughing and mocking over something and that is when I started peeking at the alleyway. They are all boys who are wearing black clothes and holding a metal rod. On the ground, I see a defenseless old man lying and a foot is on his face. His eyes are almost closing, his nose bleeding just as much as his head is, and he can't stand up anymore. My eyes heated in anger as I was shockingly viewing the scene. What have these bastards done? Who do they think they are? I gripped the strap of my travelling bag tensely, my turquoise orbs glaring deadly at the guys.

"Hey! Let the poor man go!" I furiously exclaimed.

Their glorious tatters came into pause then their heads began turning to me. Their eyes are like those of the criminally insane and just by the look of them just makes me want to smash their heads. I got ready for Magnhild but in its grenade launcher form. They still don't see it because of my pink bag that I am holding beside me. They laughed at me, and they never pay recognition to the old man as he is helpless and not even a single hand can be moved. I knitted my eyebrows towards the old man, looking at him poorly though my eyes are telling him that he will get out of here as soon as I get rid of these maniacs.

"What are you going to do, call the police?" The ugly guy taunted. He is wearing tinted glasses, a black leather jacket and black pants, then his light, brown hair is being pushed back.

They keep saying words against me, words that can't be handled by just a normal woman. The blood starts to boil inside of me, groping my weapon and bag firmly, exhaustingly, and furiously. How did I even end up here? This place isn't nice as I thought it would be.

"Get lost, we don't need hookers here," a bozo, goon man said.

The word struck me right through my chest, and my eyes never blinked not even ten seconds. My sight starts to get dim all I can see is a flash of lightning about to lash out and target them. I grumbled and it made their smoggy smiles fade, the other just dropped a cigarette from his mouth. I revealed Magnhild, from the launcher it altered into a very big hammer just like people from Remnant could expect. The gang didn't speak out, not a single dirty word anymore.

"What. Did. You. Say?!"

I bellowed towards them, then came running with my hammer aiming to slam it to the guys. There have been countless shouts and yells from the alleyway and no one seemed to pay attention to what is going on. I looked at the old man, his eyes were closed and it just made my blood boiled and reached the bursting point. I gazed savagely at the gang and gripped my harmer then leapt up, stepped right onto the lid of a garbage bin then swung the hammer right on to the goons. They flew away and slammed their backs on the wall, fragments falling from where the guys just laid their backs on. Magnhild returned to its grenade launcher form and I pointed it at the remaining goon men. They are all trembling and even a single metal rod can't fight against me. Behind me is the old man, lying unconsciously on the ground I looked at him sadly and when I turned to look back at the goons, they just ran.

I bent down to the old man then shook my hand on his arm barely waking him up. But he isn't moving. I gasped quietly my other hand is on my mouth and gazing over the poor old soul. I put my two fingers on his neck, but the pulse isn't beating. I tried his wrist, everywhere I could have checked, and it is all gone. I looked at him filled with disappointment and guilt as I clenched my fists on my thighs. Some foolish people are brave enough to hurt innocent people then they will end up cowards if they get opposed. It is so infuriating, those people don't deserve dignity.

"N-Nora?"

My eyes almost welled up with tears and as a voice just chimed behind me, I looked from behind. A red-haired girl just showed up. Her green orbs are gazing at me stunningly. She is about almost six feet tall and as I have always known, she was a hell of a fighter.

[Pyrrha Nikos]

I looked at Nora and I wasn't expecting that she would arrive early. She sent me a message that her travel was delayed and that she could be here tomorrow.

Nora is kneeling beside an old man who is lying on the ground and isn't moving nor breathing. Her eyes were tearing up so I came towards her and knelt too. I grabbed her shoulder just to make her calm though she just let tears stream down her face. I hugged her and she is quietly sobbing on my shoulder, I just let her be as I gazed at the old man again, my eyes drooped in sadness. Nora told me what happened, her first day is a wreck and a person just died in front of her. It is a bit unfortunate for her and she was just as excited to come here to this city.

Nora let go of me and wiped her tears away. She smiled at me telling me how happy she is that we got to meet, well, except for the poor soul. We didn't get past that as I grabbed the phone from my black, sling bag and started dialling. Nora is just looking at me as I am talking to someone on the phone, then a female voice just said to me that they are on their way. The other line hung up then I closed the cell phone after that.

"Who were you talking to?" Nora asked.

"She's a doctor, Nora. Akiko Yosano from the Armed Detective Agency," I smiled at her.

"Uh, okay? How did you meet people in just a matter of time?"

I wanted to explain everything to her but now it is complicated. Nora didn't even get past the trauma yet especially when she just got here. But she kept asking me, like how in the world did I get a contact from someone she doesn't even know yet and I just got here three days ago. Those questions keep bugging Nora and I just chuckled at her.

"Stop laughing, Pyrrha. You know how serious things are, what about not trusting other people?"

"They're good people, Nora. They helped a lot of people."

"' Good people' doesn't mean that you can trust them."

I just sighed and smiled at her. Nora looks tired and there is still a tint of tear from her face then she glances away from me. A black car just stopped by from the other side of the road, followed by a white vehicle with a red cross on its side and a red and blue siren that is unlit and unused. This street is not too much crowded and it is rare for people to come and go here.

The car door opened and two men got out from it, the first guy that wears glasses and holds a notebook with him is Doppo Kunikida and the other beside him, a black-haired guy with a brown cap is Ranpo Edogawa. He is a great detective in their agency. Nora stared surprisingly at the sudden company while I rubbed the back of my neck. I helped her to stand up as the two were approaching us. Ranpo got bothered by the old man that is behind Nora and it just made her look back again. She sighed heavily, held her forehead quite stressful and looked at me. I smiled sincerely at her and from the side of the alleyway, she took her belongings with her.

"What just happened here?" Doppo asked and looked at me.

I smiled sadly at him and looked at Nora who is now starting to mope.

"You don't have to know, it's alright. Not a big deal," Nora said flatly.

"So, you're lightning bolt," Ranpo chimed in.

Nora raised her eyebrows as she gazed at the detective who is observing the old man on the ground. I smiled awkwardly at them while Nora narrowdd her eyes towards Ranpo who didn't mind her glaring at him.

"What? How the hell did you know about that?" She asked, eyeing the detective daringly.

"It's okay if you don't want to talk about it. I will tell it myself," he added.

"Don't waste it, Ranpo," Doppo advised.

I don't ever want some tensions to rise and I don't have any choice but to interfere with them. Some people in their white uniforms already brought the old man inside the ambulance. I was the one who even apologized that I even called and for just wasting their time, though Nora was not having a good time on what happened and she needed some company.

Doppo offered us a ride home and as we were inside of the car, Nora was just quiet. So I started a conversation between us like I have found a place to stay and she can stay with me. She just kept hugging herself, and her head is down and I can't tell if she is listening to me when I was just talking to her. She must have been thinking about the old man at the alleyway and what had happened. I got nothing to do but just give her a sad smile and a soft grip on her shoulder. She is not ready to talk about it, but if she ever I will listen to her.

"How can people do that? I mean how can some cruel people do that when that innocent person just wants to live peacefully and doesn't even hurt other people?" Nora sadly retorted.

"There are people who are just like that with no one to mess with so they mess with the most vulnerable people. It makes them superior," Ranpo responded to her.

"But it's wrong."

"So you had decided to teach them a lesson, right?"

"How- Argh! Are you even reading minds?" Nora crosses her arms on her chest and looks at the window beside her.

"It's his ability, Super Deduction. He just discovered about what happened earlier," Doppo replied.

"You never seemed to notice that I just wore a glass because you kept moping around," Ranpo added.

"What's with these two?" Nora mumbled.

"Alright you guys, that's about enough," I declared, chuckling softly.

The evening broke out when we just got to the apartment. The car halted beside the road and closer to where the apartment is. I helped Nora with her baggage with her weapon being exposed as we got out of the car. I thanked Doppo for driving us home and especially Ranpo who just happened to be observing Nora and by the looks of her, she didn't look like the cheerful one that I am always with.

"Drive safely, Doppo-kun," I smiled and waved at him.

"Don't worry about it," he smiled back.

"Hey, lightning bolt."

Doppo and I glanced at Ranpo who is referring to Nora. Nora's eyes broadened a bit as she gazed up at the detective. I looked at her and it just seemed like her spirits got lifted just by the codename she is so fitted in.

"Do you like coffee?"

"It's too late for that," Doppo interrupted.

"I'm not talking to you," Ranpo glowered at him.

"Yeah, I do," Nora replied. There is still a hint of despondency in her voice.

"Make me one someday," He grinned at Nora.

Nora raised her eyebrows in utter surprise her jaw almost drop because of him. She grumbled at Ranpo who just laughed at her irascibility. Doppo just shook his head and I giggled softly at the sudden moment. Nora just has to smile. It is her first day in Yokohama and I just want to see her smile once again and be hyped up, the one that I have always known.

"We're not even close! I don't even know you!" Nora yelled back at Ranpo.

"You will, Nora Valkyrie. You will."

"Let's just go," Doppo interfered.

"What a killjoy," Ranpo muttered.

I chuckled while Nora glared at Ranpo annoyingly as she crossed her arms. The window slid up and Doppo drove away and I was waving back at them as if they can still be able to see it as the car just goes further away, minutely from my view. I sighed heavily and closed my eyes for a bit. The last thing, Nora is murmuring something about her day being weird and then some weird people just have to be confronted by her and when she also got to mention my name, I didn't do nor say anything but to laugh at her. She will be alright, perhaps tomorrow.
