Not in chronological order, but the boys' ages will be listed at the top of every chapter.

Edward Elric, 14. Yuery (HP) 3 months

That First Night

Edward laid the baby, still unnamed-he was going to have to figure that out, in the center of the bed and surrounded him with pillows. The other bed was now bare. Ed chewed his bottom lip trying to remember everything he knew about babies.

Nothing. He knew nothing about babies. All he knew were they were cute, and loud, and needed to be with their moms so they could eat. This baby WAS cute. However, he didn't have a mom anymore and he was really quiet. Should he be worried the baby was so quiet? It was good because he wasn't drawing attention to Ed, but what if there was something wrong with him?

He had been injured. There was a jagged wound on the baby's forehead. Ed considered his options. He couldn't take the kid to a doctor, he would have to explain why the child was in his care, and then the ones he was hiding the kid from would find them… okay so taking him to a doctor was out.

He was fed, and changed. Speaking of which, Ed really needed a shower. What if the kid rolled over or choked or just stopped breathing? It could happen. He had a head wound. Ed knew all about head wounds, he got them often enough. So, shower was out.

Ed fidgeted another minute. He could practically feel the pee covering him still. He needed a shower. He wasn't going to be able to sleep unless he got one. Maybe he could take the kid in the bathroom and just set him on a towel while he washed up? That should be safe enough.

Nodding to himself, Ed picked up the baby and carried the baby into the bathroom with him, where he encountered the next problem. There was only one towel in the bathroom. A hand towel at that. He been in better hotels in the middle of nowhere! How could they not provide towels?

Sighing heavily, he walked back out to the room to grab his coat. The baby (he really needed a name) could just lay on his coat. He was going to need the towel to at least dry his automail. Winry would kill him if it rusted. He gently laid the baby on the coat, and turned on the water. As soon as the shower started the baby woke and started whimpering. Ed stared down at him. He couldn't just let the boy cry while he took care of himself. That was just selfish!

The kid could use a clean up too, after everything he'd been through. Ed shrugged and after stripping to his boxers stripped the baby as well before stepping into the shower. He made sure to stand so the water hit him directly and not the baby as he gently scooped clean water through the baby's fuzzy head.

He was right. The kid was covered in dirt and blood from earlier. Ed then washed his own hair, cringing at the metal joints catching on the strands. The baby blinked up at him and Ed smiled down at the kid. He was going to be fine. He was just a bit tired. Probably sad too. After all, he had been separated from everyone he knew tonight. Yeah, he was probably missing his mom real bad right now. Poor little guy.

Well then Ed was just going to have to be the best Dad that any kid ever had to make up for it. Starting with a damn-DARN name… tomorrow. Tonight had already been long enough and they were both tired and baby was starting to look a little cold.

Ed was quick to turn off the water and dry the baby with the tiny towel before redressing him and wrapping him tightly in a blanket. The towel was practically useless now as wet as it was but Ed did his best to dry his arm and leg before shrugging into clean clothes and laying down next to the baby.

The baby was already asleep. Ed was soon to follow it had been a long day and tomorrow was sure to be longer.

Train midway across Europe

If Ed never had to request milk from the dining car again it would be to soon. The trolley lady was absolutely obnoxious about it. "You should really be ordering milk more often Deary, you're a bit on the slight side." What would she know? He was perfectly normal sized and did not need or want milk!

Of course he couldn't say this because his baby needed the milk and so far he had managed to keep his baby hidden. So he just gave her a smile that was more like a grimace and pointed out he was perfectly normal sized. She laughed at him before moving on.

It was the hardest thing Ed had done in days restraining himself. He was proud, he was going to have to brag to Al and Mustang about how well he had kept his temper. After he figured out the rest of it of course.
