Chaz POV

Uncle Steve came in a little while later I was surprised to see him as he was. He was huge compared to my last memory of him. I remember him being shorter than my Dad and now he is taller. It was weird to say the least. He also looked guilty but I didn't address it because two people that I don't know walked in. The girl was so excited to be there I could tell. The man didn't really have an opinion on the matter.

"Hello Chaz, I am Shuri. I helped your Father with his trigger words and I am here to help you with yours. This is my brother T'Challa he will be with us when we go to Wakanda to remove the words."

"It is an honor to meet the King and Princess of Wakanda. I am in your debt." I spoke in Wakandan. Both of the siblings were shocked that I knew the language.

"I learn languages quickly, I ran into a man who spoke your language in my... shall we say... travels."

They both tensed, T'Challa looked like he was about to explode.

"You killed a Wakandan?!" I shook my head, quickly backing away.

"I-I-I… no I… I. We." I stopped, breathing deep trying to stop a panic attack. These were memories that Hydra had made sure that I kept. He was the reason my first trigger word was Сожаление (Regret).

I was twelve physically. I had been good, following all orders that they gave me. Hoping for a chance to get away. The guards had become used to me being good and started slacking. I waited weeks after they started to become more lenient. One day after I was experimented on, the guards were used to me not being able to walk after. I had become used to the pain. I knew that I had enough strength to make a break for it. When we got halfway to my cell I pulled up from their grip punching the one out and kicking the other one to his knees and punching him out. I made a run for the exit. I was almost to the door when the alarm started blaring. I got through the door and started running and didn't look back. After days on the run only eating berries and drinking from rivers I came to a small village. I stole clothes, food and water and kept moving. The serum they had developed had made me stronger and faster than any normal human being.

I was still in the forest. I still could not figure out where I was. I just knew to keep going away from the Hydra base. I didn't realize how tired I was until I passed out. I woke in a soft bed in a green room with a black panther painted on the walls. I got up and admired the intricate design of the big cat. It was amazing it looked real the artist had really out done themselves.

"Why thank you." I spun around in fright, my powers activating to bring the man to his knees in pain. I quickly stopped the pain and kept saying sorry. I never wanted the power and I have never wanted to hurt anyone.

"It is alright, I can tell you didn't mean to hurt me. My name is K'Tako and I am Wakandan."

"You can call me, C, I am American."

"You are a long way from home, C. How old are you?"

"I am twelve." I glanced away from him. I hoped he wouldn't hurt me like Hydra had.

"Where are your parents?"

"My mother died when I was five. My father was drafted for the war. I do not know if he lives. I was captured and tortured, experimented on to become a weapon. I escaped." I hoped that this wouldn't come back to hurt me later.

"You can stay with me. I always wanted to have a little brother." I was curious now that he said I would be his little brother.

"How old are you K'Tako?" he laughed. I guess he knew what I was thinking.

"I am twenty two years old."

"K, uphi?" (K, where are you?) I asked in his native tongue.

"igumbi yokuhlala, C." (Living room, C) I walked into the room and smiled. I have been living with K'Tako for three months. He is the best big brother I could ever have. He is an artist and the paintings are selling well. Right now he is working on one from memory. Of one of his favorite places in his home land. It is a beautiful lake side view. He taught me his native language, and I am already fluent. He is teaching me the ways of his people. He has helped me learn to be a kid again instead of a soldier. I haven't left his house. I am still scared Hydra will find me. He turned around smiling at me his brown eyes shining with delight,

"What do you think brother? Isn't it the most beautiful spot?"

"It is beautiful." I gazed at the painting.

"I will take you there sometime. We will leave Germany and go to Wakanda."

"I would like that, K."

Six months of staying with K, I was bored out of my mind. I had not left his apartment and I was going crazy. It felt like I was a prisoner and it was making me antsy.

"Brother, can we go to a park?" I asked, flopping down on the couch. He looked at me surprised he had asked me many times to go out with him but I always refused. I am still worried about Hydra but I think I am relatively safe. The surprise soon changed to joy and he was off the couch running to change clothes. He came out grabbing his shoes at the door and putting on his jacket as it was snowing outside.

"Come on we are wasting daylight." I dashed to the door grabbing a jacket and putting my boots on. When we got to the park I was looking at the snow on the ground. I saw K looking at the scenery probably thinking about another painting he would do. I smirked as an idea hit me. I quickly made a snowball and got him straight in the back of his head.

"Hey!" he quickly made a snowball and it was on. We didn't stop until K grabbed me and picked me up, spinning me around. He put me down and started tickling me.

"K s-stop … it tickles … I need to breathe."

"Say that I am the best big brother and I'll stop."

"You're the best brother I could ever have." He stopped smiling as I broke down as the pain of everything crashed down on me. His eyes soften,

"C?" I shook my head.

"I never told you everything. You have been the best brother but I haven't been honest."

"Hey it is alright you are the best little brother and you did tell me. You trusted me when you first came to me. You told me about your parents and that you had been captured and tortured. You escaped and you are finally acting like a kid again. I know you will tell me when you are ready and if you are never ready it is okay because I am your brother and I love you and will take care of you." he pulled a paper from his pocket. "I was going to show your present later but here."

I looked at it, it was to plane tickets to Africa.

You're taking me to Wakanda?"

"Yeah, come on let's go home and pack." We quickly went back to the apartment, going to our rooms to pack. I was in the middle of packing when I heard a crash. I felt my training kick in. I quietly pulled the knife I brought into my room long ago because of my paranoia. I quickly made my way towards K's room. I wasn't ready for the ten armed agents from Hydra and my old handler. One agent was holding K'Tako with a knife to his throat and the others had a gun pointed at me.

"Пойдем с нами актив 358682. Думаю, у вас был достаточно долгий отпуск. Тебе не о чем беспокоиться, когда мы вернемся, ты уже садишься в кресло." (Come with us Asset 358682. I think you had a long enough vacation. You won't have to worry about anything, when we get back you are going in the chair.)

I stiffened.

"Отпусти К., и я пойду с тобой без боя." (Let K go and I will go with you without a fight.)

"Я вижу, что наш актив стал слабым." (I see our Asset has gone soft.)

"Я в долгу перед ним, как в долгу перед тобой. Я думаю, вы это поймете." (I owe him like I owe you my handler. I would think you would understand that.) I felt sick saying this but I would save K if I could. I looked at him with the knife at his throat and I could feel panic gripping me at the thought of them killing him.

"Kulungile, C. Andinakucela umntakwethu ongcono. Kube lilungelo elikhulu. Uyasinda kwaye xa ubaleka, phila ubomi bakho ungabavumeli ukuba baphumelele. Ndithembise awuyi kubayeka baphumelele." (It is alright, C. I couldn't ask for a better little brother. It has been an honor. You survive and when you escape, live your life don't let them win. Promise me you will not let them win.) I could feel my eyes well with tears but I made sure to not let them fall.

"Unelizwi lam, mzalwana omkhulu. Ndiyakuthandana."

" (You have my word, big brother. I love you.) I saw my handler nod his head out of the corner of my eye. The agent slit his throat. I ran to him and held him.

"Uxolo, uxolo, uxolo." (I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry) I kept saying as I held him until he died. I looked into his blank brown eyes that used to sparkle when he painted. I saw red and I don't really remember the fight. They managed to knock me out and when I woke I was in the chair.

I gasped as I pulled out of the memories.

"You alright Chaz?" my Dad asked, his arm on my shoulder. I nodded, choked up for a moment thinking about K'Tako. I cleared my throat,

"I never killed a Wakandan but his death was my fault. His name was K'Tako. I called him K and he was my older brother. He was the one who taught me your language and your ways. They killed him to teach me a lesson." T'Challa backed down and apologised. "When do we go to Wakanda?"
