Chapter – 4
Varys
The spider returned to his chamber through the secret chamber under his bed after his little birds sang him an interesting song. Apparently the fat kingsguard 'Boros the belly' who was presumed dead at Darry returned to kingslanding with the Imp in tow and arrested Baelish for treason.
He thought ser Boros a mere pawn but now the meekest and worst of the kingsguard is making moves that will clear the game board. The former hand along with lord Royce and ser Boros were granted an audience before the king.
He knew that the queen planned the king's demise once he went on a hunting trip to quicken her mad bastard's ascension, but alas the game changes yet again. He entered the great hall to see the fat stag seated on the throne seething with rage. He noticed that the hall and the Red keep was swarmed by a slew of Baratheon men as well as in the city. Some eight thousand men made it to the capital and this forced the queen to bring the Lannister red cloaks to the red keep.
He saw that the vale lords and their retinue are present along with ser Beric Dondarion . The lord commander and ser Boros stood next to the king guarding his person. The fat knight looked dishelved and lost a few stones of weight , but his eyes and demeanor changed as their eyes met.
Varys almost swore he saw anger in the knight's face which puzzled him as he was always a dumb lickspittle of Cersei. He saw two score men enter the room and saw ser Bonnifer Hasty along with his holy hundred kneel before the king.
What surprised him is that Ned Stark has the chains of the hand around his neck once more confirming that the fat stag have reinstated his friend as hand. He saw the old grandmaester who looked to be on edge glaring at Tyrion Lannister , 'where is the Kingslayer, Greenfield or Trant' he wondered as only ser Mandon and ser Arys were present in the hall.
He almost smiled when 'poor Petyr' was dragged towards the throne and the hand spoke "lord Baelish, you are accused of poisoning Jon Arryn and conspiring to incite a war between house Stark and house Lannister. The crown also found evidence that you tried to assassinate my son Bran, a crippled boy of seven. What say you to the charges ?".
Baelish looked terrified and shivered as the gag was removed from his mouth, he took a knee before the king and pleaded "Your Grace, lord hand I am innocent of the charges and a loyal fiend to the crown now and always. I owe my position to lord Arryn and respected him all my life. These lies are spread by the turncloak, ser Boros who abandoned his service and turned brigand. I have no doubt it is him who sent an assassin to kill young Brandon".
"Silence worm" boomed the king with murder in his eyes which shut Baelish up. He looked at lord Tyrion and saw the Imp smile.
"You have implicated lord Tyrion in the attempt on my son Baelish, now you say it is ser Boros himself. I have sent a letter to the Eyrie to Lysa Arryn asking her to bring her son to court, if she responds there will be a trial where you can prove your innocence. For now you are removed from the your position as 'Master of Coin' and all your assets and businesses are owned by the crown" said the hand with anger in his eyes.
Many emotions passed on Baelish's face ranging from anger, disgust, surprise to impotence. But he nodded before looking at Lord Royce who had a hand on his sword. He was silent for a few moments before saying "very well, I do not think lady lysa will come to my aid and if I die, might as well take some of them with me Stark", he did not like the smirk that appeared on littlefingers face.
"My king, you are nothing but a great cuckold, all three of your children are Jamie lannister's and the bastard Joffrey sent an assassin to kill Bran Stark. Your wife had fucked ser Jamie thousands of times since your marriage and lord Arryn found out. Pycelle killed Jon Arryn to protect Cersei's bastards and your spymaster is secretly planning to restore Viserys Targaryan to the throne.
The hall exploded with shouts and whisphers at this confession. Petyr smiled at him and it took all of his skill to appear neutral while his mind numbed and fear coursed through his body and he saw Pycelle sputter and rambling "lies and treason" like the fool while denying the accusations. He saw fat blount signal a baratheon guard and scores of men surrounded him and Pycelle.
He also saw Renly and his pet flower smile wickedly as the stormlanders surrounded all the suspects.
He was dragged before the king who was restrained by Ned Stark, ser Boros and ser Barristan as he shouted "I will crush your heads" . Tyrion lannister looked uneasy as men surrounded him as well.
"Your Grace, lord Baelish lies, I am your leal servant and I know that Robyn Arryn is indeed Petyr Baelish's bastard son . He and Lysa Tully poisoned the hand to make the weak boy lord of the Eyrie" he further revealed the mockingbird's treason but found the king cursing at him.
"I should've had your head long ago and you betray me Varys. Tell me did my queen …" he raged again "slept with her brother and whelped the three bastards" seething with anger as the men struggled to control him.
Seeing an opening he proceeded as Petyr further paled knowing he is doomed., 'damn the man for spoiling my carefully laid plan' and begged "I only have suspiscions my king but i do not have any proof. I am sure your brother lord Stannis can assist in finding the truth" he spoke with sadness in his voice. 'Let ser Jamie kill you and the old lion rid of the baratheons and Starks while I can escape from any dungeon while the focus is on the queen'.
"Arrest Pycelle, the QUEEN and the KINGSLAYER", the fat king roared as he hefted his warhammer and walked down the throne. He almost sighed before a blow to his head sent him reeling to the ground and a foot connected with his temple as blood filled his vision and darkness claimed him.
Cersei
She saw the commotion in the castle and hurried towards Maegor's holdfast where she found her red cloaks being disarmed and baratheon men led by a large man who disarmed the hound is bound and her sweet Joffrey was escorted by men-at –arms.
"Unhand me traitors, I will have your heads for this. Mark my words, I am the crown prince" her brave son roared as men led him towards the Maidenvault. She ordered her men to kill the fool when northern men surrounded her and her four guards.
"what is the meaning of this" she roared "I am the Queen. Let me and the prince go" she threatened but none of the guards moved.
"My Queen" said the large knight in an effeminate voice "The King and the Hand ordered you and the prince brought before him" the knight continued while taking off his helm.
Cersei was shocked to find an ugly woman with a bent nose and short blond hair with thick shoulders. Fear gripped her as bile rose in her throat and she wished her twin was here t cut down this arrogant woman. She saw Tommen and Myrcella along with their septa were escorted elsewhere.
"I order you to stand aside and release my children woman" she roared and try to slap the tall girl but she was held by strong arms of baratheon knights who led her towards the royal quarters.
She saw threats everywhere as stormland troops took over the castle, 'where are my guards and what happened to jamie' she feared if pycelle or someone had revealed her secret to Robert. She pushed the fear aside, if anything happens to her she was sure her father will eradicate the baratheons.
She and Joffrey were led to a large chamber where she saw the pillow biter Renly and his flower knight waiting . The fool smiled at her in a mocking way and said "this way my queen" with a sneer on his face.
She refused to take the bait and silently followed him through the chambers and found almost fifty knights armed and armoured were already there along with Ned Stark who had a large tome infront of him. She was surprised to find the twisted dwarf along with the missing fool 'fat boros'. She was shocked her creature looking at her with malice in his eyes and shuddered.
"what is the meaning of this lord Stark" she raged "what right do you have to command us as if we were mere peasants". Stark looked at her with pity in his eyes but steeled himself and stood up.
"Petyr Baelish have been arrested for the murder of lord Jon Arryn and when questioned he accused you of committing the vile sin of incest and birthing his bastards. You are accused of deceiving the king and parading your three children as Robert's" the honourable northerner accused her.
She was terrified and enraged at that brothel keeper who she should have killed long ago. She was a lioness of the rock and once Jamie and father destroy Robert and his brothers, she will make sure the northerner is dead as well.
"How dare you accuse me of treachery stark. You cannot sully my reputation with your lies Stark" she raged before her imp of a brother laughed at her.
"Come now Cersei , Jamie is thrown in a dungeon and I have command all Lannister guards here, you are done" the imp mocked here.
Her world collapsed and she lunged to kill the monster before strong arms contained her rage. She looked around to find fat Boros holding her down.
"traitor I will have your head for this" she tried to escapebut the fat fool was unmoved. "SIT" her imp of a brother shouted with a face reminiscent of their lord father. She wilted quickly before she recovered.
Ned Stark opened the large tome and pointed to a page with baratheon bloodline and lineage. He said "Your children are the only baratheons with 'Green eyes and Golden hair' in a line of men whose children had blue eyes and jet black hair even when married to Targaryans. Even lady Tya Lannister birther her husband Gowen Baratheon a black haired boy" the dour lord accused.
"Lannister blood is superior and the gods only decide what eyes or hair a babe gets, your own children took after your Tully wife" she questioned the useless hand.
"Stannis Baratheon returns from Dragonstone in the morrow and a trial will take place my lady and if found guilty you and your brother will face the headsman along with your eldest. If you confess your crime I may convince Robert to spare the children".
Fear gripped her mind, Stannis that dour fool is unbending and he worked with Arryn before his death but she collected herself and said "my father will destroy you for your insolence. A Lannister always pays her debts".
"Cersei you fool, for once in your life be rational and protect your children. Father isn't here to save you, the little Valonqar whined. She wanted to kill the imp, no doubt he spilled his guts out about her and Jamie. She should have had Jamie kill the dwarf long ago.
"YOU MISERABLE SLUT" a roar jolted her as Robert barged inside the door with his hammer by his side and blood on his fists. Lord Royce, ser Barristan and Renly tried to stop him from attacking her and then felt herself shiver as she looked at his eyes filled with fury and bloodlust.
