A/N: Percy is finally introduced to the divine world.
Chapter Four: Camp-Half Blood
Percy woke up in an unfamiliar environment, he was in a hospital ward of sorts, he sat up on the bed and looked around, finally he noticed the girl who was sitting on a chair beside him.
"So finally you wake up." the girl with curly blonde hair and stormy grey eyes observed.
"Yeah... I am... sorry... where am I?" Percy asked as his memory came rushing back.
"You're In cap half-blood, you were brought here yesterday after you sustained some serious injuries fighting hellhounds and apparently the Minotaur," she said.
"Wait a minute... it wasn't a dream? you're telling me that hellhounds are real?" he asked with equal amounts of shock and hope.
"Umm yeah," she said as if they were the most normal things.
"Wow! so that means I am not crazy! wow! thank you." he said with awe.
"No problems, so... you fought 20 hellhounds and Minotaur alone, and somehow you defeated all of them, you must be one hell of a demigod." she complimented.
"Wait... what do you mean demigod?" he asked warily.
"You know what I mean," she said with a small smile.
"That's impossible." he declared.
"Yeah you fight 20 hellhounds and the Minotaur, that's possible... but you being a demigod isn't? you don't know that you are a child of a god because gods are forbidden from seeing their demigod children." she retorted.
"How do you even know that I fought them? I don't recall anyone being there." Percy asked irritably.
"Well Chiron, our camp manager reviewed a security footage, he didn't tell us how you did it though."
"Just checking, does this Chiron character happen to be a centaur?" Percy joked as remembered the Chiron from the stories his mother used to tell him.
"Yep"
"Wait yes? No way! are you telling me the greek mythologies are real?" Percy asked, was he still dreaming, or was this girl trolling him?
"They are indeed real young hero..." a man said, there was only one problem... the man was a centaur.
Percy jumped off his bed, "You are Chiron aren't you?!" he asked in awe.
The centaur chuckled and nodded, "Indeed I am my boy, you seem to be well educated In Greek mythology."
"W-ell my mother used to read me stories of greek heroes and g-gods but now I am starting to think they weren't just stories!" Percy said nervously.
"Indeed, now why don't you let Annabeth here show you around the camp?" he said motioning towards the girl who was looking at my disbelief with great amusement.
Percy obeyed and silently followed her as they made their way outside the building and into a full-fledged greek camp complete with statues, amphitheaters, and arenas.
"Woah!" he exclaimed as he took everything in, the camp was absolutely stunning but his eyes were immediately drawn towards some statues on the wall of a building, his eyes widened as he saw a statue of his father holding a trident and standing over a wave. It couldn't be? could it? how was that even possible?
"Say Annabeth... whose s-statue is that?" he said pointing towards his father, hoping she wasn't going say what he feared she was going to say.
"Oh, that? that's Lord Poseidon, God of the Seas, Earthquakes and Horses " she answered casually.
His face drained of all color, 'this isn't happening'
"Um and I-Is that h-how he actually looks?" he stuttered.
"Yeah, I have seen him Olympus once, all these statues are accurate, I guess it's a surreal moment when you realized that the statues are how gods actually look like in real life," she said noticing his expression.
Percy blinked a few times and cleaned his mind, trying to keep his emotions from seeping into his voice he asked "And you said they are forbidden from seeing their children?"
"Yeah the ancient laws prevent it, they all agreed to it and asked the primordials to bless the law... it's not like they cannot see us, it's more like they cannot be a part of our lives or fill the role of a parent," she explained.
"Who are the Primordials?" Percy asked, he had a rough idea but he just wanted to confirm.
"They are the beings who came before the Gods or Titans, they don't interfere with what happens on Earth, they usually have more important things to do like I don't know, smash galaxies into each other or something," Annabeth said.
"Wow, you sure know a lot of things." Percy complimented.
"I would be much of a daughter of Athena if I didn't, would I?" she said with a smile.
"Daughter of Athena? cool." Percy said absentmindedly.
He was sure of five things now, one, his father was a god, two, he had inherited weird water powers from him, three, his mini trident (which had magically appeared in his hand when he woke up) was an actual trident, four, his father was most certainly breaking some serious laws by seeing him, five, since his father wasn't supposed to see him he was going to have to lie about never meeting his father.
Everything was starting to make sense now, his unnatural love for water, all those battle training, mermaids...
"So these are the cabins, every god has a cabin for their children" Annabeth showed him the cabins that were arranged in a 'U' shape around a large campfire.
"There are only twelve gods?" Percy asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Every major god." Annabeth corrected herself.
"So where am I staying? Is there any divine DNA test or something?" Percy asked.
"No there are no such tests in my knowledge." Annabeth said with a smile, "You find out who your godly parent is when they claim you, until then you stay in the Hemes cabin." she explained.
"Hemes, like the god of Travel, thieves, and stuff?" he asked.
"Exactly," she said, "Come on now, let me show you around the rest of the camp"
So Annabeth took him around the camp and showed him everything one by one, everywhere he went people pointed at him and whispered among themselves when he asked Annabeth he found out that killing the Minotaur and a score of hellhounds and living to tell the tale was apparently a big deal.
Halfway through the tour, they were rudely interrupted by a tall, muscular girl with pale brown hair, "Hey, look at it guys, if this isn't the newbie?" she said as she walked over with a few guys who looked much the same.
Percy sighed, "Let me guess, she's the camp bully?" he asked Annabeth.
Her eyes widened at his bold statement but she nodded nonetheless.
"What did you call me punk?" she said dangerously.
"Maybe the punk needs to be taught a lesson." one of the guys said as he looked at him threateningly.
"Clarrise leaves us be, he has just been discharged from the infirmary you can pick a fight later," Annabeth said.
"I don't know, I really didn't feel like leaving him be, what do you guys think should we let the punk go?" she asked looking at her companions who shook their heads.
"Alright we're teaching him a lesson then, got any problem with that blondie?" she sneered.
Without waiting for a reply the girl swung her meaty arm trying to catch Percy off guard, unfortunately for the girl, Percy had been trained in all forms of combat by one of the greatest warriors Atlantis had ever seen (not that Percy knew that yet), he casually dodged the punch and gripped he pulled her hand while striking her on the leg and sent the girl sprawling on the ground.
A crowd was starting to gather around to see the confrontation.
"Stay down unless you want to embarrass yourself any further," Percy warned.
Sneering at him she got up and pulled out a sword, "Arm yourself and let's see how you do in a real flight!" she yelled.
One of the guys standing beside Clarrise, her brother, he assumed, tossed a sword towards him.
Percy caught the sword and looked at Clarrise warily, she looked pissed off.
"Don't tell me I didn't warn you" Percy said and took his stance.
Clarrise growled with anger, she raised her sword and lept on him, Percy brought the sword forward and blocked the blow, her eyes narrowed at this and she charged again only to be blocked yet again, she kept attacking but Percy expertly parried the slices and hacks aimed at him, finally, he swung his sword upward and broke her offensive, dazed by his blow she stumbled backward and wiped her brow, without waiting for her to recover he ran towards her at full speed and launched his own series of attacks, Clarrise's overconfident smirk gradually shifted to a worried frown as the speed and skills behind his attacks caught her off guard, deciding to play with her he indulged her for a few minutes, this was his first flight with someone other than Isidore and he was enjoying the thrill.
Finally, after a few minutes of fighting he got bored, she wasn't particularly skilled, especially since he was used to sparring with an expert swordsman like Isidore, deciding to end the fight he changed his stance and slipped into a full offensive, he took in a deep breath and calmed himself, he charged forward and moving at lightning speeds he started relentlessly attacking his opponent, within thirty seconds Clarrise was overwhelmed and fell on her knees, Percy took in another deep breath and put all his strength behind his last attack and his sword hit Clarrise's sword with such force that it was sent flying several feet in the air.
Without hesitating he pointed his sword towards her chest, "Still think I am a newbie?" he said before tossing the sword back at the brute who now looking a lot less sure of himself.
"Now back off!" he growled at Clarrise's half brothers.
Noticing the crowd that had gathered the Ares kid reluctantly retreated knowing it would only bring them more embarrassment if they attack him together especially after he swiftly and ruthlessly defeated their best fighter.
"This isn't over yet," Clarisse seethed before getting up, turning away, and leaving.
"I want you in my team for capture the flag," Annabeth said as she stared at him in awe along with the rest of the crowd.
