Since the students from the Academy of Gifted Juveniles began summer break a few days ago, Kaede Akamatsu and classmate, Shuichi Saihara, decided to take a camping trip in the woods as a way to kick off their break. Among the classmates they invited, Gonta was thrilled to meet the bugs living around them. Kaito wanted to make sure his sidekick, Shuichi, wouldn't get into any trouble. Tsumugi came along for the sake of constructing an amusing summer instead of it being "plain boring." And Rantaro hoped for something miraculous to arise from the campout, as well as serve as a guide for the group.
They also invited Tenko and Himiko for the journey. Tenko declined at first because she refused to surround herself with "degenerate males." However, after learning Kaede invited Himiko, to which Himiko accepted since she was too lazy to decline, Tenko immediately changed her mind if it meant getting closer to the magician. The location of their camp was a forest located behind their academy, which Rantaro had explored on numerous occasions. He suggested to the group they drive their camper van not too far through the forest and from there would direct his classmates to an open clearing perfect for assembling home base.
Once the group arrived at the clearing, they pitched up 2 tents; one for the boys and one for the girls. Rantaro succeeded in starting a fire pit, and Tsumugi discovered a lake great for fishing. The plan was to camp throughout the entire day, then once everyone was awake the next morning, return to the van and drive home. The trip was an overall fun experience for everyone with no major issues. However, what they were not prepared for was the hefty heatwave that would fall upon the students the next day.
"Good morning, Himiko!" Tenko cheerfully shouted. Himiko was the last to wake up among the group. Rubbing her fatigue out of her eyes, Himiko locked eyes with the one shattering her peace.
"Nyeh… good morning, I guess," Himiko responded. Tenko was ready to spend the remainder of the time left with Himiko. Tenko was the first to wake up and wasted no time in dressing herself. She wore a bright blue sports bra with the words, "GIRL POWER!" displayed across the front, black, baggy cargo pants, and black slip-on Nike Sandals accompanied with pure white socks. The Aikido Master wasted no time and made sure to make the most out of the short while she had remaining with Himiko. She patiently waited for Himiko, sitting in the tent staring a tad-bit creepily at Himiko sleeping.
"Come on, Himiko! I'm certain breakfast is ready!" Tenko smiled. Tenko left the tent to see if Rantaro was finished preparing the fire to make breakfast for everyone. Tenko hadn't stepped out of the tent in a few hours, so it hadn't dawned on her until then that a fire was not being created. Rather, she saw the rest of her classmates packing up all the camping equipment.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing?" Tenko demanded.
"Oh! Tenko!" Shuichi greeted. "Didn't Kaede tell you? There's been a change of plans for this morning,"
"T-There has?" Tenko stuttered.
"Ah geez! I told you she didn't hear me! She was too fixated on Himiko to listen to me," Kaede said. Tenko mentally slapped herself in the face for not listening to Kaede and what was going on.
"Oh. Whoops! So... what is the change of plan exactly?" Tenko wondered.
"We decided it's best if we leave early before heatstroke sets in," Rantaro answered. That's when Tenko noticed the humidity and intense heat beaming down on them. It WAS hot.
"We plan on heading back to the van in a few minutes once we're finishing packing," Tsumugi added while fanning herself with her right hand. Tenko was pretty bummed hearing this news. Not only would this mean her fun camping experience was finished, but this meant she would have less time with her precious Himiko. Speaking of Himiko, the magician finally pulled herself out of the tent to group back with her classmates.
"Nyeh… this sun is a pain." Himiko grumbled. Tenko didn't want Himiko suffering from the intense summer heat and knew she had to take action. But what can she do? Before she could contemplate, Kaito took down the female tent and folded it.
"That's should be everything!" Kaito shouted. "Now it's time to get patrolling! Let's move it!"
"Wait!" Gonta stepped in. "Gonta thinks bad idea walking through forest in heat. Gonta not want friends suffering."
"Gonta does have a fair point." Kaede agreed.
"But somebody has to get the van, right? Perhaps maybe one person could drive the van here?" Tsumugi thought out loud.
"Whoever it is… they better be quick." Himiko groaned. Tenko knew she could take the heat and drive the van, especially for Himiko. Hearing Himiko complain about the heat was heart-wrenching for the aikido master. However, before she could step up to the position, Kaito came in.
"No problem! I will promptly take the wheel and provide the group the A.C.!" Kaito yelled. Kaito moved toward the direction of the camper van's keys before being interrupted by Tenko, who was furious at the thought of him taking charge.
"Do you honestly think I'll be ok with a degenerate male taking the wheel?" Tenko directed.
"Eh? Tenko, what's such a big deal if it's me?" Kaito retaliated. Tenko really couldn't think of any good reason for why it was a problem other than the fact he was a male and because she wanted to be the one to help Himiko in her suffering. She attempted to rationalize whatever made sense in her mind.
"How do we know if you can drive in the first place! You might one of those idiotic drivers that really don't know what they're doing!" Tenko shouted. That was the best she could come up with since her intentions were shaky as is.
"Who are you calling idiotic!?" Kaito roared.
"Alright, calm down you two!" Kaede snapped, stepping in. It doesn't matter who goes, but Kaito did step up first." As she continued her next sentence, Kaede went to clutch the keys and hand them to Kaito. "So why don't we let Kaito take the keys, he can-" before she could finish her sentence, the pianist looked down to see herself emptyhanded. She jolted her head to the side to see the keys in their original position were missing. Not just the keys, but Tenko vanished from the sight too.
"Tenko grabbed keys first. Gonta and friends have to wait for Tenko," Gonta spoke. The group sighed in unison and Kaito was purely annoyed.
"Fine! She can do it! But if Tenko takes too long, I'll beat her to it!" Kaito assured.
Meanwhile, Tenko sprinted through the path far enough and made sure nobody could stop her.
"Good. I'm out far enough." She said to herself. Tenko followed along the path and knew she may want to make haste. Tenko was still recovering from her dash through the forest and did not feel like running the rest of the way with the sun still trying to bake her alive. It was then the aikido master stumbled upon the lake her friends fished in yesterday. Though the lake had dried up because of the steamy weather. An idea came to Tenko's mind.
"This is great! I can use the lake as a shortcut and get to the van faster!" Tenko thought. With that in mind, Tenko ditched the path and walked across the dried lake. The terrain was a little unstable and shaky. It felt like walking on jello. Tenko proceeded with caution and tested the flat terrain with each step to test its solidarity. However, this would take up a bit of Tenko's time. It was only after a minute she was getting impatient, constantly testing the ground when the same result from each step was solid with slight wobbling. No longer exhausted from the earlier sprint, Tenko charged through the flat. It only took a few seconds before Tenko broke through the surface revealing thick, gray mud.
"Damn it! What now?" Tenko angrily questioned. The aikido master looked down to observe her sandals lodged into the squishy floor, accompanied with slurping from the mud. Slightly annoyed, Tenko clutched her left calf and yanked her foot free.
"UGGGGHHH! Come on! Let me go you stupid mud!" She shouted. However, the sludge refused to let go and only gurgled louder. The mud stretched like molasses and glued Tenko's left foot steadily.
"I can't budge in this stuff! This is pathetic!" Tenko exclaimed. Tenko attempted lifting her right foot free, but got the same result.
"This stuff sure is stubborn. I'm not giving up though!" Tenko announced.
"Maybe I'm not trying hard enough." She thought. Tenko twisted and turned her hips to loosen the suction of the hungry silt. Unfortunately her movements only made things worse. Tenko descended into the sticky quagmire halfway up her legs. The aikido master had no idea she was sinking until she felt a strange sensation around her crotch. Tenko's cargo pants began slipping down her legs as the mire began slurping them down too.
"What's with this stuff? And I keep sinking downward! It's almost like tar!" Tenko said, pulling her pants back up. She hadn't been successful in freeing herself from the gooey ooze and began thinking of a new idea.
"Maybe I should call for help," she thought. But that thought immediately evaporated.
"No way! I'm the Ultimate Aikido Master! I'm not letting some mud get the better of me!" She shouted with confidence. Not to mention, she knew that if she did call for help, it would mostly be one of the "degenerate males" helping her out. With a new plan set in motion and now sunken to her upper thighs, Tenko pressed her hands on the mire pushing herself upwards. At first her plan was going smoothly and was making progress in freeing herself, although the wet slurry would still fight back.
"That's right! I win! Nothing will stop the Ultimate Aikido Maste-!" Her short lived victory faded away when she hands plummeted into the mire, stuck fast. This only caused her to plunge further into the mud, now sunken to her crotch region. She blushed at the sensation of the sludge soaking into her undergarments.
"What's wrong with me? I need to get out of this stuff!" Tenko shrieked. As the mud trickled up her stomach to her bellybutton, she was utterly lost in what her next move was.
"I'm not sure what to do at this point. Everything I do only makes things worse and I sink deeper! What is this stuff supposed to be? Quicksand?" She wondered. Tenko made a brief connection to the situation she's in and it all made sense to her.
"Oh my god! I think I'm in quicksand!" She cried. Tenko understood the danger she was now in and the only thought racing through her mind was escape. With no other ideas left, Tenko attempted to struggle and thrust about hoping the quagmire to at least get some progress. Unfortunately for Tenko, her thrashing would only quicken her descent into the mire. Tenko's knowledge of quicksand was pretty rusty despite how common knowledge it is that the more you move around in quicksand, the faster you sink.
"MMMPPPHHH! Let go of me!" She yelled. All Tenko would do was fight and fight but the gurgling mud continued consuming her muscular body. She was slowly being pulled in deeper and deeper with every movement no matter how big or small. She continued wiggling about but her actions were meaningless as the soft mud trickled up to her breasts.
"It's no… u-use! Tenko said out of breath. Tenko looked around at her surroundings as a last resort and spotted a medium-sized rock position to her left.
"Perfect! I need… to latch on!" She said trying to jerk her arms free from the dreadful quicksand. In response to her attempts of freeing her arms, the quicksand caressed and swallowed her breasts, causing the aikido master to blush once more at the feeling. She tried to ignore it and focused on lifting her hand. Fortunately she managed to lift her left hand above the surface completely caked with gray mud and reached out for the rock.
"Come on! You can... do it!" She encouraged herself. Though the rock was in her reach, it was necessary to thrust herself closer in order to get a grip, but in exchange for her shoulders leaving only her neck and above as well as her left arm above the mire. However, her plan was foiled when the mud covering the aikido master's arms were too slippery to get a hold of the rock.
"No... You've gotta be kidding me!" Feared Tenko. Tenko was utterly terrified and despair began to set in. She was in the middle of a mudflat, plunging deeper into quicksand with nothing left to do.
"I can't believe it's going to be quicksand to take me out! Of all things to take me out!" She whimpered, tears streaming down her face. The pressure of the sludge against her neck caused her a bit of difficulty in breathing. The only hope she had left was scream for help in the hopes someone would find her.
"SOMEBODY HELP ME! HELP! HELP!" She screamed like a banshee. "PLEASE HELP ME! I'M SINKING! QUICKSAND! HELP! I'M SINKING IN QUICKSAND! Her screams only provided useless. Nobody was around to save her and all Tenko could do was submit defeat to the mire. Tenko's face and her dirty hand was all that remained and it wouldn't be long before she fully submerged.
"I just… want to see Himiko one more time…" She tearfully said. The liquid earth filled her face and completely gobbled up Tenko. All that remained among the quicksand was her hand and nobody would be around to save her.
At that same moment in time, Kaito traveled along the path to the van since Tenko was taking too long to return. However, he heard screams coming from the lake almost identical to his classmate.
"Tenko!?" He thought to himself. Kaito dashed for the dry mudflat and could not find the source of the scream. That is until he spotted a weird shape stuck in the mud. He tried to make out what it was and determined it was…
"A hand?" Kaito said. "Oh, hell no!" Kaito darted to the hand and immediately yanked it, revealing a completely mud coated Tenko. He laid his classmate flat on the ground and checked to make sure she was still alive. Tenko had no idea what happened and thought she was done for, but to her surprise, she had been freed from the deadly quicksand. Tenko wiped the mud off her face to reveal who her hero was and saw Kaito standing above her.
"Are you ok, Tenko?" Kaito asked. After realizing Tenko had been rescued by Kaito, her face fell into immediate horror.
"AGGGHHH! A degenerate male touched me! He touched my hand! My fighting spirit is going to vanish! I'm done for! Oh this is bad! This is really bad-!"
"Calm down!" Kaito shouted. Tenko stopped screaming and looking at her rescuer. They locked eyes with one another and Kaito knew he had to say something.
"It's going to be ok, Tenko. I'm glad I managed to find you though, otherwise you would've been a goner! Just calm down and think about this, ok?" Kaito assured her.
Tenko was still upset about the fact that a man had touched her, although her fighting spirit didn't seem to deteriorate, let alone change at all because of this.
"I'm… I'm sorry Kaito…" She said with even more tears pouring down her face. "I...I… thank you." She blurted out feeling embarrassed.
"Don't worry about it. But we really should get going, ok?" Kaito said.
"Right." Tenko replied by wiping more of the mud off her body. "And just to make this clear, you are NOT allowed to tell anyone about this! Especially none of the males! If you do, I'm going to twist your legs in the opposite direction!"
Kaito slightly nodded and they both made their way back on the original path. But one thing came to Kaito's mind.
"Hey, Tenko, if you don't want this incident to get out to anyone, how do you intend to explain to everyone what took so long and why you're covered in mud?" He asked.
"Oh, um, I'll figure that out once you drive the van back to the group." She answered with a grin on her face
