She didn't know where she was going. She just got in the car and left. Six o'clock- 2 hours after she left the small town she was in Boston. In front of a house, she hadn't seen in a long time. Before she could stop herself she had come out and rung the bell. Just about to leave and the door open.

"Leigh" he asked confused. She didn't answer. And didn't have to. He opened his arms for her to enter them. She did so and began to cry. They fell to the ground, she was holding on to him as if her life depended on it. They stood there for 15 minutes before he picked her and carried her to his room. Put her on his bed and snuggled to her. That night she cried herself to sleep.

Jake Pittman wasn't an aggressive person, but tonight he wanted to destroy whatever it was that had made the girl in his arms upset. He didn't know what had happened but knew that was something bad, very very bad. For the past 17 years, he had known her; he had seen her like that maybe 2 or 3 times. As he stroked her hair he thought about her. He was happy that after everything that they have been through she still came to him when she filed lost and alone. He couldn't sleep so he watched her. She looked angelic. It has been long since the last time that they were snuggled together. Even in her sleep, she was holding him strong like she was scared if she let him go he will desire.

It was around 3 in the morning. When she finally woke up. At first, she was a little disoriented. Where she was and how she ended there. She stood up and saw two green eyes full watching her.

"Where am I? And How did I end up here?" she asked her voice full of sleep.

"At my room. You came to my front door yesterday. So I decided to upload us here and after 2 hours you fell asleep." he smiled. The smile, that told her that when she was ready he would be there to listen. "So which movie are we watching today? " she smiled in return "don't tell me 'Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory'". She was grateful to have him.

"Oh, you know me so well" she smiled brighter putting her hand on the chest. He pulls her into him and asked

"If I don't know you, who will?" laughing she answers.

"Well, probably no one".

As the movie ended she turned off the TV.

"So I guess it's time to talk"

"Look, if you don't want to, don't do it. I don't have to know. Just know that I'm here for you. Ever."

"I know. That's why I came here. Actually, I didn't know where I was going. I just drove. When I finally registered where I was you opened the door and I couldn't keep everything up anymore." now she was looking at her hands. He took them and lifted her chin so she could see him.

"What happened?"

"I saw her" was the only thing that came out before she started to sob again. He just held her until she calmed down.

"Who?", that was met with silence "Guess", " Just tell me. Please,. You know that I don't like to play this game" he asked, stroking her hair again.

"My mother" she said a little above a whisper. If they weren't so close he wouldn't have heard her, but he did.

"WHAT!" he shouted. Immediately she put her hand on his mouth.

"Shhhh. You are going to wake up everyone. It's nothing. Don't worry about it. I don't want you to do anything. I overreacted. Promise me that you will not do anything". At this, his eyes softened and the famous smirk was now on.

"Why do you think I would have done something?" he asked jokingly.

She rolled her eyes and smiled " Wouldn't you have" he could make her smile any time.

"I would have" he said, returning the smile. But conserve in his eyes.

"I'm ok. Do you hear me? I'm. yes, maybe I didn't seem to be but now I am." he laughed at that she could read his mind so easily.

"If you say so" he shrugged his shoulders.

"I'm"

"Ok, ok," he said, raising his hands in the air. "Now tell me everything that happened in your life that passed month." And with that, they laid back down on the bed. She put her head on his chest and presided to tell him everything that had happened to every little detail. And after that, he did the same.

Around 10 in the morning Eliza (Jake's mother) found them fast asleep together under the covers. She smiled to herself and around the bed. She striking the girl's hair.

"Good morning sunshine"

" hi," she asked, a little confused and embarrassed.

"Come. We will make coffee and talk."

10 minutes later they were downstairs drinking coffee in silence.

"So I guess you want to know why I am here"

"That will be good" she said in a teasing tone

"Well, do be completely honest ." " and we are" " I don't know. I was with my mother. You know she abandoned us." there was a sad smile in return "Of course, you know you were there for everything. Every time that she had to be. And back to the point. She had created a life for herself. In a small town, like these in the movies, everyone knows everyone's business and things like that. So I didn't know where she lived so I stopped to get coffee and then she came. And started to rumble something. And earlier I introduced myself like Lorelai, but she calls me Rory. I know it's strange, but whatever. And some odd-man asked me again what my name is. And I told them, I think my exact words were "Lorelai is my name. Rory is just a nickname that only mum uses". And everyone at the diner was shocked. You don't get it. No one knew I existed. No one. That was supposed to be her family and they had no idea that I existed like I wasn't important enough to mention me." At its point, her eyes were full of tears and she could no longer hold them back.

Jake had woken up 5 minutes ago. And had come downstairs just as she was starting to cry again. He wrapped her in his arms and held her. He looked up to see what his mother had to say about her being there. Spending the night. But the only response he got was a smile. She was happy that " her daughter from another mother" had someone to be there for her. And that someone was her son.

" shhhhh. It will be ok" he repeated again and again till she stopped crying.

" You know that you are like a daughter to me" … she waited for a response and when she got a nob she continued " Don't take it so personally. You are an incredible person and a daughter and she is a fool if she doesn't see it. But maybe she hadn't told them because of her. I am not defending her. Or her actions. But maybe she was embarrassed by her actions, not you. Hell, I will be if I let you go" with that Leigh looked a little embarrassed. Eliza decided that was her cue to leave. Jake pulled her closer and whispered into her ear.

" You know everything my mother told you about you being amazing is true. And most likely the other part too."

" but"

" No, buts. You let Josh's opinions get to you. . . Oh, don't give me that look. You always see the god in people. You are not the one that judges first."

" Yeah, I know but still. I really think these things."

" But you wouldn't have said it. Right."

" Maybe" she looked down " but. Right now everything is upside down. I lost Pops. I am not exactly on speaking terms with Josh. I am moving because of a person that willingly abandoned me. I am going to a new school without all my friends in the middle of the year. Everything is wrong. Everything. God, I lost you. How did it come to that?"

" Wait, wait, wait. Hold on a second, there" he moved back just enough so he could see her eyes that are now starting to tear again. "You didn't lose me. I am still here. That we are no longer a couple doesn't mean that I will not be there for you. You know that. Right. "

"Yes, but.." she didn't finish her sentences before he interrupted her.

"Just because we are not a couple doesn't mean that I will magically stop caring for you. Do you know how many times I dialed your number, but just before the call got true I ended it." A smile crept into her face. That simile that wormed his heart, that he would do anything for.

"123 times"

" What?" she laughs at his confused face.

"That's exactly how many times I had dialed your number the past month"

" Really." teasingly he wrapped her back into his arms.

"Well, yhea. You see that I can't leave without you."

"You know it would have never worked between us."

"Yhea." they both knew it was a lie. But they agreed to never verbally acknowledge the truth. He knew she wanted to leave Boston, and move away from her dad, but never would if they were still together. So even though it broke his heart, he told her to leave.

With their grandfather Straub passing away, they had enough. Josh decided to go away to boarding school, not wanting to do anything to do with the mother that abandoned them so long ago, while Leigh decided to go and meet the Gilmore's. She didn't want to lose someone else. If the Gilmore were of a people that were the Haydens grandparents she wanted to know them.

"There was love. It was just not enough" she whispered.

"Now let's get you dressed and bring you back to that little town. Stars Hollow if I am not wrong" he said dragging her back to his room.

"You are not. . .You still have my clothes in your dresser." she asks, shocked. He just chuckled

"Of course. What would I do if I didn't? Then when you come to my doorsteps crying and stay the night I would have something to give you to wear."

"And what are the chances for that to happen?" she asked playfully.

"I say pretty good" and both laugh. "What do you want? If you want we can go to yours if you don't want anything from here."

"NO! I don't want to go." she looked around the closet "Okay, maybe. No, I have no clue what to wear. Can I stay the way I am now." she asked hopefully.

"I don't think your mother will be particularly happy to see you in someone's old T-Shirt and boxers."

"Well for ones I don't care what she thinks" he gave her a look.

"Leigh it's 2 January. You will die of cold."

"It's not that cold"

"Look it's 2C here in Boston and I am pretty sure that in Hollow is somewhere there too." She gave him puppy eyes. "Okay. let's make a deal. You can take one of my T-Shirts, BUT you have to put on your pants".

"Okay" she exclaimed pleased.

"You know that you are like a 4-year-old, don't you"

"Yes." she acclaimed happy "Oh. And can you come with me to make one deal?"

"Where, when, and for what?" he asked cruise.

"In Hartford, I have to be there in 3 hours. For Starbucks. Josh had to go but something came at the last minute and he couldn't. And if no one goes I wouldn't have my beloved coffee next to my school and then dad will lecture us on how irresponsible we are and I don't have the nerve to deal with it."

"Ok, ok. I am coming. Wait if you are going business don't you think you should wear your own clothes." he tees her. She elbowed him and said.

"Oh shut up. I will take some business clothes. But I will not drive 2 hours in them. . . If you mind I will change." the next thing she said with a hint of hurt, that he haunted himself for putting her in.

"Hey" he hugged her. "I was just teasing. I like you in my clothes."

"Really" she looked up.

"Yes. It makes me happy that you are comfortable enough to steal them from me and wear them without a care in the world."

"Haha. Do you remember the first time I went home with one of your T-shirts? The look on my grandparent's faces. I thought they would have a heart attack. And Josh at first he was laughing so hard and then when Pops told him what was the situation. I thought that he would kill you, even though you are his best friend."

"Yhea. I think that I remember that day. It wasn't that funny."

"Really? I think it was"

"Everyone in your family looked at me like I had just killed Bambie."

"Well. Sorry for that, but I thought it was hilarious," she said, putting on her black pants from yesterday with his old 'Metallica' T-Shirt.

"Okay, let's go. Which car? Are we talking?"
