She woke up and stretched her limbs, she stared at the envelope that was sitting on the mantelpiece. No, she wasn't going to succumb even though the temptation of Peter's guess was what made her unsettled that morning. She glanced around the room and saw Peter sleeping in the armchair, she laughed silently now realising that they fell asleep whilst watching the boxset. Carla yawned and made her way over to the fridge to pull out the bottle of water that was in there, it was strawberry flavoured and it seemed to be the only thing that gave her any sort of energy. Peter had bought it randomly in an attempt to inflict health on them both knowing they would need to look after themselves but Carla knew this was just full of sugar and that his excuse was to be healthy. Really he just wanted something sweet as he hated normal water at the best of times. Gently she padded over to the armchair and poked her husband causing him to wake.
"Ugh" he rubs his neck, she raises her eyebrows "What?"
"We fell asleep," she says quietly for some reason "We should get to bed"
"Is that the strawberry water?" he questions noticing the strong sweet smell it was giving off, she nods sheepishly "It's ok you can have some, were you feeling a bit yucky?"
"Yeah I do feel a little bit like that but this seems to help," she says quietly sitting on the sofa, she yawns "I'm tired but I'm not"
"It's either one or the other"
"I don't know" she mumbles wrapping the blanket around her and then lying out on the sofa "I can't be bothered to go upstairs"
"Lazy cow," he says, she gasps and lobs a cushion at him, he chucks it back at her and then she returns it, he walks over to her and tickles her
"Stop!" she squeals, he climbs over her body and kisses her "Hmm"
"Bed, come on, you're not sleeping on here any longer than you need to," he says helping her up, she sighs bringing the blanket with her as they finally head upstairs and climb into bed "Right wake me up if you don't feel well"
"You'll probably hear me anyway" she mumbles curling into his side, she drapes her leg over his body and she looks up at him "Ugh"
"What?" he groans forcing his eyes open, she pouts her lips "Go to sleep"
"Can't sleep" she whispers, he just rolls his eyes turning over leaving her to raise her eyebrows, Carla knew exactly what she wanted so she got up and opened all the windows as she felt hot
"Carla it's going to be freezing if you open all of those"
"I'm hot!"
"Well sleep with the blanket only then" he retorts, she groans sitting on the armchair and tapping her nails on the arm of it "What's up?"
"Nothing" she shakes her head, he rolls his eyes "I want to go outside"
"What?" he questions knowing it was gone three in the morning "It's three in the morning, you barely got any sleep last night how can you even have all this energy?"
"I dunno" she shrugs walking around the room, he gets up and guides her into bed again "Peter"
"What?" he sighs exasperatedly
"What did you predict?" she grins, he leans in close to her and kisses her on the lips, she bites her lip really thinking he was going to tell her
"I'm not telling you until the baby's here or we find out the gender" he pokes her on the nose "Now go to sleep"
"Oh, Peter!"
"Sleep," he says, she rolls her eyes climbing under the covers, he brings her into his body and he makes sure she was secure in his arms and it wasn't long before she was asleep again leaving Peter to get a peaceful night sleep as well...
Of course sleep didnt last long, Carla woke up around three hours later and darted into the bathroom. Peter was alerted by the sheer force of her violently pushing him away. If he was honest he was surprised she even made it to the bathroom but at least they went with the laminate flooring upstairs in case any little accidents happened so right now he was grateful he ruled out on top on this one as Carla was obsessed with changing it to carpet when they had the time. He padded into the bathroom and saw Carla slumped against the toilet set, almost lying across it. Unfortunately, since the operation, he had lost quite a lot of strength so he was unable to move her himself and he knew she would protest anyway so he brought in the blanket and a pillow from the bed to put behind her back knowing she was nowhere near done throwing up yet.
"Ok?" he questions running his fingers through her hair, she shakes her head tearfully "You got a few hours so I'm a bit happier than I was before"
"I feel vile" she croaks kissing his wrist as he brushes his fingers over her cheekbones "When does this stop?"
"Second trimester," he says quietly and she just groans as the tears fill her eyes "Don't cry, baby"
"It's just...painful for my throat and the taste just makes me even sicker" she closes her eyes letting out a yawn "Toothbrush?"
"Here," he says putting some toothpaste on it for her, she sighs and brushes her teeth before grimacing and throwing up into the toilet, Peter holds her hair back for her and rubs her back
"Ugh!" she groans as the tears fall down her face, he hushes her gently and brings her in for a hug "It wasn't as this bad last time..."
"I know" he kisses her on the forehead as she closes her eyes sitting on his lap "I'm guessing we're camping out on the bathroom floor?"
"Hm" she hums before scrambling off his lap "Water"
"Ok," he says getting up and walking into the bedroom, he picks up his glass and offers it to her and she downs it before spitting into the toilet "All good?"
"What do you think?" she questions blankly, he bites his lip sitting on the floor "Sorry"
"It's ok" he assures her "You're doing so well"
"Well it's not like I have a choice" she spits, he sighs as the tears spring to her eyes "Sorry...again"
"Come on" he whispers sitting next to her against the bathtub, he pats his lap and she crawls onto it, he shifts over to the toilet so she had access to it
"Hmm I can't believe we're spending the first week of our new house sitting on the bathroom floor, you witnessing me chucking up my guts and being horny all the time"
"We could never do things easy could we?" he questions, she sighs and shrugs grabbing the blanket and wrapping herself up in it "Are you feeling a little better?"
"Just cold," she says quietly resting her head on his shoulder, he kisses her on the forehead letting out a yawn himself "We should get into bed, I don't think I will be sick again"
"Are you sure?" he questions, she nods standing up and gripping onto the sink, he immediately grabs her waist so she doesn't fall "Ok I've got you"
"Dizzy" she whispers gripping onto his shoulders, he holds her upright "Lay down, please"
"Ok alright," he says leading her over to the bed, he helps her lay down, he shuts all the curtains and turns the lights off "Close your eyes baby"
"Hmm" she whimpers closing them as she starts to sob, he holds her close knowing this pregnancy was definitely going to be rough on her
"Tell me what you need, I'm here ok?" he says quietly into her head, she just turns around and cries into his chest "I know what will make you happy"
"What?"
"Remember before the transplant?"
"Yeah?" she questions keeping her eyes closed as the room was spinning "What about it?"
"We were listening to those chillout hits, you know the ones," he says trying to jog her memory, she hums in agreement "There was that song that I sang to you wasn't there?"
"Yeah" she mumbles draping half of her body over his "Love On The Weekend wasn't it?"
"You remember well" he whispers nuzzling into her neck, he kisses her there "You be the DJ, I'll be the driver, you put your feet up in the getaway car"
"Reminds me of the layby"
"Funny" he pokes her in the back of the head as she giggles slightly "Love on the weekend, love on the weekend"
"We're acting like an old married couple already"
"Hey we're just being us there's no harm in it" he reassures her, she hums in response "Do you remember that Westlife single that was played at our wedding, actually you probably don't you got splattered"
"You were kissing that barmaid" she retorts as he laughs slightly "Which one was it?"
"You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains"
"You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas" she whispers kissing his arm "I am strong when I am on your shoulders"
"You raise me up to more than I can be," he says into her forehead, he kisses his chest and hums gently "We should get an Alexa"
"No those things creep me out" she shakes her head "Technology is too advanced nowadays"
"Si has one I think"
"He'll be home soon baby you just gotta trust the process" she assures him cupping his cheek seeing the tears line his eyes, he begins to cry "Oh darlin' let it all out"
"I miss him" he admits, Carla holds his head against her chest and peppers kisses into his head "I have so many regrets"
"You were ill sweetheart Si knew that," Carla says into his head "It'll be ok, Si will be ok and Leanne will look after him so will Nick, they will look after him baby, they won't let anyone get to him"
"It's just the thought of not seeing him for years," he says breathlessly sobbing into Carla's chest, she just massages his head "It's the thought of not knowing if he's ok or the thought of not being able to speak to him or both"
"I'm here for whatever you need" she kisses him on the head "Everything will fall into place. Si will come home and we're going to be parents aren't we?"
"Yeah, thank god for all that"
"I say we get some more sleep yeah?"
"Don't you need to work?"
"Ugh" she rubs her forehead "I need to sleep I'm so tired"
"I can do your invoices again if you want?"
"If you wouldn't mind?" she questions "I usually wouldn't ask but I'm comfortable and I could just drop off in this position"
"I'll get working on those, the sooner I finish them the sooner we can snuggle yeah?"
"Perfect," she says quietly "Leave any you don't understand ok?"
"I also won't process them I'll let you do that so you can check them. I'm guessing you don't want anything to eat?"
"Not really" she hums "I just want to sleep don't let me stop you though"
"You won't" he bends down and kisses her on the head "Have a good sleep ok? Call me if you feel uneasy on your feet I'll keep my phone on me at all times"
"I will, thank you for being so understanding as well"
"You're my wife, it's my job to love you, protect you, look after you...all of the above and more"
"Well you're doing a sterling job so far baby, keep it up"
"I intend to"
Peter was working on Carla's invoices, he noticed she was asleep for ages as it was almost one in the afternoon. He sighed gently at the realisation of how hard this was going to be for Carla to manage everything if this pregnancy was going to cause her further issues. He couldn't help but think that as she was so early on it was going to get worse before it got better, he just wanted her to enjoy this as before it was filled with stress and uncertainty on his part. All he wanted was for her to feel comfortable and confident within herself so she could fight all of this head-on and be positive about the future. There was a creak from the staircase and he noticed Carla, she walked to the fridge and got out the pineapple before violently chopping it. He wasn't going to question anything if she was in a mood.
"I've done your invoices for you," he says leaning on the kitchen counter, she turns to face him clenching her jaw and raising the knife in the air "Maybe put the knife down baby"
"No" she shakes her head picking up her pineapple and eating it "You do not understand how good this tastes"
"You seem to be brighter" he observes, she hums and sits down at the table, she yawns as the doorbell goes off "I'll answer that then"
"You will" she licks her fingers before picking up her next bit of pineapple "Oh are those the chairs?"
"Yep," Peter says allowing the delivery people to drag them into the living room "I'll see them out for you"
"Ta" she nods with a small smile watching him leave temporarily before returning "Peter?"
"Yes baby?" he questions bending down in front of her, she sighs "Were you sick again?"
"No" she bites her lip, he brings her in for a hug "I'm sorry"
"What for?" he questions gently taking her hand into his, she sighs "Hey..."
"For chucking this at us right now" she shrugs, he shakes his head standing up to kiss her on the head "I'm sorry"
"You don't need to apologise" he chuckles into her head, she wraps her arms around his body "This is going to be ok, this whole thing is going to go swimmingly, we're going to be parents baby"
"Still I can't help but feel it should have been later on"
"These things happen. I'm ok with it I promise"
"You would tell me if you weren't?"
"Why are you saying this?" he says softly bending back down in front of her, he takes her hands again
"Because...I don't know"
"Are you having doubts?"
"Not about the baby, or the pregnancy"
"About us?"
"No I don't really know what I'm having doubts about but they're there" she shrugs, he nods slowly attempting to lift her up "You shouldn't be lifting me!"
"Tough" he groans walking her over to the sofa and placing her down, she scowls at him as he sits down beside her and brings her in for a hug "I'm not as fit as I used to be"
"You're recovering and you shouldn't have done that Peter" she scolds him, he rolls his eyes as she sits on his lap, he plants loads of kisses into the top of her head
"We need to talk," he says, she sighs and nods "And find out why you're feeling this way"
"Do we have to?"
"Yes" he shakes his head at her avoidance "Tell me what you're worried about"
"It's like I'm back at counselling" she mutters, he kisses her on the forehead as she lets out a tired sigh "About the baby being born early, about losing the baby...whether I will get ill, whether my body will cope with carrying a baby now. It couldn't cope back then, could it? I mean I lost our baby didnt I and my body let that happen because it didnt want to carry her...our baby and I just think that it might not want to keep this one"
"Slow" he whispers into her head, she bites her lip as they move to lie on the sofa together "Let's go through one thing at a time"
"Fine" she sighs picking at her nails to avoid his gaze, he doesn't let her off that easy so he tilts her head up to his
"The doctor said it's more likely that the baby will be born early, yes but that doesn't necessarily mean it will. You will be monitored more so than your previous pregnancy which we should look at as a good thing because we'll see the baby grow and we'll see it develop won't we? And then if they think somethings wrong they will pick up on it won't they?"
"Yeah" she nods slowly biting her lip, he kisses her on the forehead "You're right, it's probably better than before because at least there will be more frequent scans, check-ups that sort of thing"
"And losing the baby sweetheart, last time wasn't your fault so don't ever think that way. You will also be monitored more regularly as well so they will keep an eye on everything, won't they? The midwife will have your notes won't she so she will know what you've been through"
"Yeah" she gulps wiping her eyes "I'm happy I am it's just scary, it's a big change"
"I know I'm scared too" he assures her kissing her on the forehead "If you get ill I know the signs now don't I? I promise you I will be on it as fast as I can. I will keep you and the baby safe if I think you're both in danger because of what goes on in here" he taps her head, she bites her lip and nods leaning up to kiss him
"I just feel like all my control has been taken away," she says quietly, he nods slowly knowing it must be hard for her "I will get used to it I know I will it's just going to take time to get used to it"
"It will. Every day I will tell you how well you're doing because you are doing so well even if you don't think you are because I am here to support you"
"Thank you" she hums quietly before letting out a yawn "I don't suppose you mind if we don't go to the hospital today I'm really not feeling too great"
"We'll go tomorrow," he says quietly "You look shattered and the last thing I want you to do is overexert you when you look so tired"
"Thanks" she nods with a small smile "I might sleep in the sun again for a couple of hours"
"Yeah, that's a good idea. Is there anything you want?"
"A bottle of water would be nice" she suggests, he nods as they sit up, he heads to the fridge "Strawberry flavour?"
"Go on then" he chuckles slightly grabbing the bottle out of the fridge and filling up a bottle for her before heading into the garden where Carla was lying in the sun with her top rolled up "Here you go"
"Thanks" she whispers as he sits down with her, she lifts her head onto his lap to use him as a pillow, he places his hand over her tummy "Hmm"
"Calming isn't it?" he questions looking up into the sky and seeing the clouds above them, she hums and nods placing her hand over his "You're doing so well Carla, don't ever let anyone else tell you different ok?"
"I just hope that everything will be ok that's all," she says quietly, he bends down and kisses her on the forehead as she sighs, the both of them looking up at the sky and taking in their surroundings...
He watched her chuck some clothes on, it was around ten the next morning and she had been feeling rather well today which was a nice change. Peter made a deal with her and that was that they go to the hospital and have their blood tests. He was glad in a way as Carla seemed much brighter as she was joking about the whole thing so it was nice to see some of her sarcasm back in full force. He wanted her to feel completely comfortable in the car so he opened the window whilst she drove to the hospital. Carla suggested that they went out for brunch after as she was feeling peckish, this led Peter to agree so they ended up going to the Bistro, this way Carla could pop in and give Sarah her files as well that she had been working on last night.
"Are you ok?" he questions noticing she was a bit distant as they walk down the street, she nods with a small smile "Are you sure?"
"Yeah I'm just thinking" she shrugs looking over at the park they were walking past "About the future"
"Interesting" he muses looking at the park and seeing that it was empty, he takes her hand and drags her into it
"Hey!" she chuckles as they enter the park, Peter sits in the basket swing and pulls Carla onto it "People are going to think we're weird"
"I don't care what people think" he chuckles leaning in to peck her on the lips as he moves the swing ever so gently "Soon we'll be here with our little one, I just know we will"
"Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I never would have envisioned myself here all those years ago you know? Having a baby Peter, at our age as well, we're crazy. A good crazy don't get me wrong but seeing real-life things and imagining your own life in those scenarios its just insane to think about, a good insane though"
"I think I get you," he says quietly, she hums contently "We can go home if you want, going to the Bistro was a mere suggestion"
"No I want to go" she confirms getting off the swing, he gets off as well and brings her in for a hug "It'll be ok, it has to be ok"
"It will be, I just know it"
They went to the bistro. They had a lovely meal and they just spent time talking about anything other than the baby as Carla didnt want anyone to overhear or even have the possibility of overhearing. They spoke a bit about the future keeping it vague and that when Peter suggested that when his recovery was over they should go on holiday to give them the holiday they didnt have and make it into a honeymoon. Carla thought about the idea and she agreed thinking it would be nice to do something before the baby was born, just some time to mentally prepare them for parenthood without the pressures from the world around them. Both of them finished their meals and Carla went to grab the files out of her bag and head into the factory he followed her.
"Nice of you to show your face" Sarah grins sarcastically, Carla rolls her eyes placing the files on the desk
"All of them are there" Carla states folding her arms across her chest, Peter walks up behind her and wraps his arms around her body "Anything else you need?"
"Why have you been off then?" Sarah asks curiously "Peter looks fine to me"
"He's still on recovery" Carla states passing Sarah the letter from the doctor, Sarah raises her eyebrows "He still has three months left but don't worry I will be back soon and before you start yes he will be working only one shift a week at Streetcars before you automatically assume that he's ok to be working full time"
"I'm not saying anything" Sarah states passing her the letter back "Thank you for the files"
"No problem," Carla says trying to control her anger "We'll be off now, bye Sarah"
"Bye Carla" Sarah rolls her eyes watching them both leave, Carla storms out of the factory and Peter raises his eyebrows
"That was cheery"
"Enough with the sarcasm" she mutters, Peter just laughs slightly "She does my head in. If you can forgive me then why can't she?"
"Because she's Gail Platts daughter" Peter states, Carla just sighs as the tears fill her eyes "Hey why are you upset?"
"I don't even know!" she shrieks, Peter just laughs slightly bringing her in for a hug "God I'm going to be a wreck aren't I?"
"A beautiful wreck you may be" he comments, she just laughs slightly wiping her eyes
"Peter!"
"Oh god" Carla mutters looking at Ken across the road "Not a word I mean it"
"Lips are sealed," Peter says as Ken makes his way over "Hi dad"
"How are you?" Ken questions, Carla smiles at him
"Good yeah, we just felt like getting out today that's all" Peter smiles, Ken nods slowly "How's life here then?"
"Good, yeah, good. Daniel said that Bertie's started walking properly now"
"Oh that's good" Carla nods with a small smile knowing her nephew was born prematurely so there was a bit of a delay
"Yeah that's great dad" Peter smiles bringing Carla into his body she wraps her arms around his middle
"I was wondering if you both wanted to come in for a coffee?"
"I don't know-"
"Yeah sure" Carla nods with a small smile looking at Peter who raises his eyebrows at her, he was surprised she didnt want to go home and snuggle up with him
"Good!" Ken nods "You finish off what you need to do and I'll meet you back at mine?"
"Sounds good" Carla nods with a small smile watching Ken cross the road, Peter just looks at her in disbelief
"Seriously?"
"Yes," she nods slowly "Why are you so shocked?"
"Because I just thought you might have wanted to go home" he chuckles, she just shrugs in response
"Well as good as that sounds I do feel sorry for your dad having to deal with Tracy and Steve all the time. He would probably be grateful for our company" she whispers, he nods and pecks her on the lips "There is a problem though"
"What?"
"He said coffee" she bites her lip, Peter sighs in response and nods "And we both know that coffee and the foetus do not mix well"
"They don't," he says quietly, she bites her lip "I'll think of something"
"Good" she pats his chest as they walk over the road and head into number one
"Take a seat" Ken jumps out of nowhere causing Carla to jump as well, Peter tries to suppress his laughter as they sit on the sofa, she curls up with him and he holds her "Coffee? Tea?"
"Tea please," Peter says quietly
"Same for me, ta" Carla smiles wrapping her arms around Peter's middle, Ken places the cups of tea on the table
"You two seem very content" he observes, Carla just shrugs as Peter rolls his eyes knowing she was probably testing him to see if he would slip up
"We are, I guess we just love each other don't we sweetheart?"
"Yeah" she nods with a small smile "We're moving forward, looking to the future that sort of thing"
"Well if you don't mind me saying you look glowing Carla"
"I don't know how to take that" she shrugs picking up her mug to disguise her expression, Peter rubs her back gently and then returns to playing with her hair "Mind you he keeps me well-fed, can't cook for myself you see so it's up to him"
"Yeah, she really can't. She once served me and Si a pizza with the plastic cover still on"
"Oh great not this again" she drones "I still feel sorry for Toyah there"
"Why?" he scoffs knowing the conversation she was referring to, Carla places her mug down on the table
"Well, she felt like a third-wheel didnt she?"
"Did she?"
"You will always be oblivious baby because I'm telling you she did" she laughs slightly as Ken smiles at them both knowing they would be just fine "Mind you she deserved it"
"What?"
"The whole Susie thing" Carla grimaces slightly, Peter chuckles "No one does that to you"
"Oh love" he chuckles watching her pout her lips and hold her close, Peter looks to the mantelpiece seeing pictures of Steve and Tracy on their wedding day, Sinead and Daniel and Sarah and Adam, he sighs slightly "Let's get married"
"What?" Carla laughs hysterically "We're already married have you lost the plot?"
"Well let's have a blessing after my recovery" he suggests, she raises her eyebrows "I just look at all the photos on the mantelpiece and I want a big occasion. It doesn't even have to be a wedding, maybe on our one year anniversary we could just have a party?"
"Seriously?" she questions with a small smile, he nods slowly "I guess we could"
"Yeah?" he smiles, she nods slowly biting her lip, Ken smiles slightly at them both "We'll think about it"
"Good idea" she chuckles slightly still amused with his outburst, she rests her head on his chest and lets out a yawn before closing her eyes and draping her legs over his, he massages her scalp and kisses her on the top of the head
"Has she fallen asleep?" Ken questions, Peter nods slowly breathing in the scent of Carla's hair as she sleeps against his body
"She'll be fine" Peter whispers running his fingers through his wife's hair as she sleeps peacefully in his arms, he definitely knew the future was going to be bright...
Carla eventually woke up feeling rather rubbish so Peter rushed to get her home knowing they needed to keep this pregnancy schtum. They got home and Carla rushed into the downstairs bathroom to be sick, he sighed and sat down with her on the floor, he held her hair out of her way. The car journey home took ages as she had to keep making stops to either just breathe through her nausea or be sick on the side of the road which Peter found inwardly amusing as he never imagined Carla doing that. They eventually got home though and she just wasn't having any of it. He didnt really understand what set it off this time though but he was sure Carla would learn what sets it off in due course.
"Here," he says quietly watching her sit on the sofa with a blanket wrapped around her body, she lifts her legs up so she was sitting cross-legged on it, she shakes her head "No water?"
"No" she whispers trying to fight her nausea, he sits beside her and takes her hand as she cries, he didnt want to hug her in case he made it worse
"Keep fighting it," he says gently, she shakes her head getting up and running to the bathroom, he sighs slightly and walks into the bathroom again, he holds her hair back "Let it all out"
"I hate this" she states, he rubs her back as she slumps back against the radiator, he sits beside her and rubs her tummy, she pushes his hand away "No"
"Ok," he says quietly, she breathes out resting her head on his shoulder
"I'm so tired" she complains, he smiles down at her "I feel dead"
"Lovely," he says sarcastically warranting a glare from her
"I don't even know what set it off" she sighs gently shaking her head in confusion "It wasn't the tea"
"Maybe it's just one of those things?"
"Well it's annoying if it is just one of those things" she snaps "I don't want one of those things to happen when I'm at work or even worse out on the street and I have to stop to be sick in the middle of the road"
"That was kind of funny"
"You're going to get a slap in a minute" she warns him, he just suppresses his laughter "We have that scan in a couple of weeks to find out how far along I am so then hopefully we can hazard a guess as to when this will stop"
"The letter still hasn't come through"
"The doctor said it would take a week" she yawns tiredly before rubbing her eyes "I just want to enjoy this pregnancy but I can't if I keep chucking my guts up at unknown things"
"You'll learn to pinpoint what sets it off" he assures her, she sighs and nods wiping her eyes "Do we need to camp out in here or are you ok to move?"
"No, stay here," she says quietly, he pouts his lips knowing she wasn't expecting this, she stretches her legs and her back
"I think we should move you off this floor, it's cold and not very hygienic," he says quietly, she sighs and nods slowly knowing he was right, he helps her up and she secures her arms around his body, he then leads her upstairs and she gets into bed with him
"Did you mean what you said at your dads?"
"Hm?"
"About the wedding party thing?"
"Yeah, it just got me thinking that's all. Everyone's had a big wedding, haven't they? Steve and Tracy had a big wedding, Sinead and Daniel did as well...Adam and Sarah. I just felt kind of outcast seeing all the professional pictures from photographers of their weddings"
"Oh baby you're a sentimental one aren't you?" she coos kissing him on his cheek "I have an idea if you don't mind me saying?"
"Shoot," he says kind of curiously
"Well, I was thinking when this little one is born we have a photo shoot, a newborn one with both of us. Maybe even maternity ones. I don't know I just feel our house is kind of empty, isn't it? We don't have many family photos and it kind of feels bland"
"Hm yeah it does" he nods slowly "Well we have old photos don't we but it would be nicer to have some more recent ones to mark this new beginning"
"Yeah, looking to the future" she nods with a small smile rolling her jumper up, she sighs slightly allowing him to place his hand over her tummy "I just...hope that you're ok in there"
"It will be" he bends down and kisses her tummy, she laughs slightly "We just have to keep waiting, keep you fed the best we can and hydrated. It will be ok this is our chance Car, our chance to be a family with Si and when that finally happens all of these worries will be forgotten"
"I hope so," she says quietly closing her eyes as his hand rests on her tummy "We just have to hope and pray that we're strong enough, and that this little one is strong enough to get through all of this, please be strong enough, please"
"It's ok" he brings her in for a hug as she cries into his chest "It'll be ok, I'll make sure of it"
