Monica wakes up to the voices of her friends in the kitchen. She reaches for her watch on her night stand and sees that it is already 7 in the morning. She tries to remember what happened the night before. She sits up on the bed and looks around. She noticed the shopping bags that are stacked on a chair and her clothes of the day before that hang on its backrest. She couldn't recall changing her clothes. The last she remembered was coming home with Chandler after dinner and shopping. She thought that Chandler has already left for work but the door to her bedroom suddenly swung open with Chandler holding a tray of food.
Chandler puts down the tray, kisses her forehead and sits on the bed beside her.
What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be at work? Monica asked worriedly.
Good morning, honey! You had a nice sleep? Chandler asked.
Sleep was great! …. and by the way, thanks for changing my clothes! That was so sweet of you. Monica stretches her arms and reaches for Chandler for a hug.
Oh, I brought you breakfast!
Thanks, honey. But I think I'm gonna take it in the kitchen. Is that okay?
Sure!
There was a knock on the door of the bedroom with their friends on the other side. Each one just letting them know they are done with breakfast and are on their way to work, except for Joey who is still waiting for a call from Estelle.
Chandler brings the food back to the kitchen with Monica right behind him.
Hey, you can go to work now. I don't want you to be late. Monica tells Chandler.
Are you sure, you're going to be okay alone?
Yes! I had a nice long sleep, remember? And my shift is not until later in the afternoon.
Don't tire yourself too much, okay? I'll call you when I get to the office. Chandler stands up and gives her a kiss on the lips before heading to the door.
Immediately after closing the door, it opens again as Chandler reaches out for Monica's face for another kiss.
Chandler picks-up the phone the moment he reached his table. He promised Monica he would call and he is hell bent on fulfilling every promise he makes with her.
He puts down the phone and was startled when someone spoke.
So, Chandler, seeing someone? It was his officemate, Jane.
Oh, yesss, yes! That's my girlfriend. Chandler smiling and telling that bit of news with pride.
So you have a girlfriend. That's it! Jane nodding as if she has just figured out a puzzle.
What do you mean that's it? Chandler asked curiously.
Well, I've noticed some changes in you. I mean I see you everyday for years in this office and I kinda miss how you would ask someone to get you a date and all. You know.
So?
So, lately, you've not been worrying about it. You kinda look calm. So that's it!
Really? You think I am calm?
Jane nodding.
Well, I am calm. Chandler reaffirming what Jane noticed and what he has been feeling about his relationship with Monica.
You in love?
Very much!
Jane walks on towards her table smiling as Chandler focuses on the pile of documents on his table.
Another Day at Chandler's Office
Hey, Chandler! Nice to see you again. Chandler bumps into Patrick. Both of them heading to the cafeteria.
Oh, yes. Just a little busy. You know.
The boys are going for some boys night out Friday night, wanna come?
Oh, I can't. I'm sorry.
Why not?
Monica's gonna freak.
Monica? Who's Monica?
Oh, Monica's my girlfriend!
So?
So? I can't go, Patrick. I'm sorry.
Ah, so Max is right!
What do you mean?
Well, he saw you the other day with a pretty lady at the store.
Oh, he did?
Yes. Well, man, I'm happy for you.
Thank you, man. I AM happy.
So that's what's keeping you busy these days huh?
Yes.
So, see you later! We'll get together with the boys sometime.
Yes! Thanks.
Chandler sat alone reading newspaper while consuming a bottle of energy drink when Jane spoke. May I join you?
Sure, Jane! Whats up?
Well, you've been absent from work lately and Max and the boys were telling people that he saw you with your girlfriend at the mall.
Oh, yeah. Patrick said Max did see us.
So it's true?
Yes.
Wow, congratulations, Chandler!
Congratulations? Wh-why? Chandler asking Jane confused.
Well, he said you've been shopping for baby stuff with a pretty pregnant woman?
Oh, that? The confusion in Chandler's face was replaced with that of happiness and excitement. It feels so good to say to Jane - Yes, my girlfriend is pregnant with our first child! I am going to be a daddy!
Wow, Chandler! That sounds so exciting. I am really happy to see you like this.
Like what?
So happy. We better meet that girlfriend of yours, okay? We're all intrigued you know.
We can arrange that! Don't worry, after I'm done moving my stuff, we'll invite you to our apartment.
Oh, so you're moving in together?
Oh, did I not say that?… But yes, we're living together. I just don't wanna be away from her, you know.
I never thought I'd get to see this side of you, Chandler! But just in case, don't you think it will be too bothersome for you and your girlfriend if we go to your apartment? I mean, you need to prepare food and stuff.
Oh, my girlfriend is very good at that. She's a chef actually.
Oh a chef? Impressive! Which restaurant?
Alessandro's.
