The Loud parents have certainly had an interesting day as they expected just to have a family dinner celebrating Lincoln's move to Middle School and Lori's graduation to college.
But things never go exactly as planned...
First their daughter Lisa calls an emergency family meeting as soon as she got home from school. Then at that very same meeting she lays out her plan to send Lincoln to the other side of the world to help out a colleague of hers.
Then somehow Lisa convinces every other member of the Loud family to go along with the plan. And now they are going to have a discussion with the colleague in question through a device they never heard of until today called a VideoPhone.
"Oh my Miss Loud are these the parents you have told me so much about. What's the occasion?"wondered Professor Magnolia.
"Well professor remember how I've been trying to apply for a trainer's license?"reminded Lisa hoping the Professor would recall.
"Now Lisa I'm short Chairman Rose made himself clear when he said that he couldn't do anything about the minimum age requirement."said Professor Magnolia hoping that Lisa wouldn't once again try to convince her to disobey the rules.
"And that is exactly why I got someone else to go in my place Professor, someone who is the minimum age requirement."said Lisa causing the professor to look at her with the look of curiosity.
"I'm assuming you're referring to one of your siblings?"asked the Professor.
"My older brother Lincoln, who is Eleven years old."said Lisa as the professor looked at her with a look of amazement.
"Can't do it yourself so you decide to send someone you trust in your place I must say Miss Loud you are stubborn and persistent."said Professor Magnolia who was honestly impressed.
"It is one of my specialties. But before we can agree on anything my parents wanted to talk to you to see if you are well equipped for my brother's care."said Lisa who moved aside and moved her hand indicating she wanted her parents to come closer.
Rita and Lynn Sr hesitated for a moment before developing the nerve to approach the VideoPhone to have a discussion with the possible guardian for Lincoln during the summer.
"Why hello Mr and Mrs Loud I must say I've heard a lot of you from your daughter and I am honored to finally meet you two."said Professor Magnolia with a sweet smile on her face.
"We have heard good things about you as well professor."said Rita who decided to be polite as the professor look like she was a kind old woman.
"Yeah but we honestly admit we're confused since Lisa just drop this on us today."said Lynn Sr as he was scratching the back of his head.
"Well it's not every day that someone outside the region gets a chance to become a Pokemon trainer."
"Pokemon trainer?"asked Rita and Lynn Sr at the same time as this was the first they were hearing about this.
Professor Magnolia noticed their reaction so she decided to ask Lisa directly what was going on.
"Miss Loud didn't you tell your parents anything about the Pokemon trainers license?"
"Sorry Professor I too was caught off guard last minute as Lincoln came to me with interest but because I needed my family's approval first it must have slipped my mind."said Lisa as she raised her hands.
"Oh well I might as well explain everything. Now Mr and Mrs Loud what I'm about to tell you is very important so I suggest you listen carefully."said Professor Magnolia with both Loud parents nodding their heads and agreement.
(One explanation later...)
"So let me get this straight there are creatures out there that no one has ever heard of except for individuals who live near these creatures and a select few outside of those regions."said Rita hoping she did not hear the professor wrong.
"Yes."
"And these creatures are called Pocket monsters or more properly known as Pokemon, and through special orbs known as pokeballs you can capture and train Pokemon for the purpose of battle."said Lynn Sr hoping he was hearing her correctly.
"Yes and before you say anything yes it's all perfectly legal since Pokemon by nature will battle each other whether in the wild or as trainers Pokémon naturally as Pokemon seem to be wired to get stronger in order to evolve or simply to get stronger. With a Pokémon trainer this process happens at a much faster rate so at the end of the day it's a win-win situation for both trainer and Pokemon."said Professor Magnolia who knew that many would ask if Pokémon battling was legal.
"Wow...just wow... I never expected this as I'm honestly quite surprised."said Lynn Sr as he rubbed his head.
"Yeah.."said Rita as this was a lot to take in.
"Oh if I had a pokey dollar for every time I had a discussion with the parents of trainers I sponsor. I assure you it is quite safe as there are many rules and regulations to make sure there is no wrongdoing on both the Pokemon or the trainers part."said Professor Magnolia who could recall all the times many concerned parents had questions about Pokemon training.
"Well... I think we should let him go Rita since I'm pretty sure this is something Lincoln would want to do."said Lynn Sr surprising his wife.
"Lynn!"
"Think about it Rita. Lincoln has been feeling down lately and needs a challenge and I believe this is something he would want to do. I know he's young but at some point in his life he needs to experience the outside world and I think this is the perfect opportunity for him to do it."said Lynn Sr surprising his wife.
Rita was about to say something else before she really started thinking.
Was her husband right?
It's true that Lincoln's been in the blues lately as she has noticed him staring at the trophy case with his single trophy in there while his sisters have dozens of trophies that represent their many accomplishments.
Lincoln was also going through drastic change and didn't really have any plans for the summer so was this the perfect opportunity for him to do something he would most likely want to do?
After thinking it over Rita turn the face Professor Magnolia on the screen.
"Professor Magnolia if I agree to send my son with you do you promise to keep him safe?"
"Miss Loud I am a mother and a grandmother so I can assure you I will keep your son safe like he is my own child."said Professor Magnolia with a serious look on her face.
Rita smiled upon seeing that face as she could see it was the face of someone with fierce motherly instincts.
"Okay Lisa you have my full cooperation to send Lincoln with your friend. But if something goes wrong that's on you okay."said Rita as she faced her second youngest daughter.
"I completely understand mother."said Lisa who was trying her best to contain her excitement now that her plan could go on without a hitch.
"So how soon can you pick up Lincoln?"asked Lynn Sr.
"I have already been making arrangements so I should be able to pick him up tomorrow morning at the Great Lake City airport. It that okay with you two."asked Professor Magnolia.
"Yeah that's great we will be there."said Lynn Sr with Rita nodding her head in agreement.
"Great I shall set out at once so I must get going so until we meet in the airport bye-bye."said Professor Magnolia she hung up the VideoPhone from her end and began making her way to a Pokemon League helipad to catch a flight to the Great Lake City airport.
Meanwhile back in Royal Woods Rita and Lynn Sr took a deep breath as this was a lot to take in despite having agreed to it before Professor Magnolia hanged up.
"Well I hope you're happy Lisa."said Rita.
"I'm ecstatic honestly as this will be a great opportunity for Lincoln and myself as he learns everything there is to know about Pokemon."said Lisa who was trying her best not to smile as that was out of character for her.
"Well Lisa go get Lincoln and tell him to come to our room so we can tell him what is going to happen since I'm assuming you haven't told him anything yet."ordered Lynn Sr.
"I didn't want to get his hopes up until I got all of you to agree."said Lisa as her parents left the room to prepare themselves mentally for the discussion they were about to have with their son.
As soon as they were gone Lisa exited her room and took a deep breath before knocking on Lincoln's door. A few moments later the door open to reveal Lincoln.
"So?"
"Mother and Father want to talk to you in their room alone. I'm sure they have a lot to tell you so I suggest you mentally prepare yourself and head to their room as soon as possible."said Lisa who walked back to her room without saying another word.
Lincoln knew Lisa was up to something but he figured to give this a shot so after taking a few deep breaths Lincoln began to make his way down the stairs.

In their room Lynn Sr and Rita we're wondering what they were going to say to Lincoln as soon as he got to their room to tell him that he would be going on a trip during the summer.
This was a lot to take in as they didn't know how Lincoln would react to the news as Lisa did not tell him anything.
Soon a knock on the door interrupted their train of thoughts.
"Can I come in"said Lincoln's voice through the other side of the door.
"Come on Lincoln."said Lynn Sr with his son soon letting himself in a few moments later.
"What did you guys want to talk to me about?"asked Lincoln as his parents indicated that they wanted him to sit down so he did on their bed.
"Well son I'm sure at least I'm more or less told you what is going on."
"Only that you needed your approval first for something that had to do with the flyer she left at the school."said Lincoln who really didn't know anything else.
"Well son after the family meeting in a talk with Lisa's we have decided to send you with a colleague of hers that lives on an island near the United Kingdom."said Rita who decided not to have any small talk and just get to the point.
"What?!"
"Now son before you say anything Lisa brought up a few good points letting us know that lately you've been feeling... inferior to your sisters and that you... need a challenge."said Lynn Sr as Lincoln look like he stared off into space.
Of course Lisa would realize this as she was good in psychology and she was a genius so it was no surprise she would realize why he was feeling under the weather lately. But he had to admit grudgingly that Lisa was right.
He was feeling inferior to his sister as more time went by they got more trophies while he still only had that most improved brother trophy in his part of the trophy case. She was also right when she said he needed a challenge.
Lincoln feels like he needs to do something to prove himself to make him feel more alive as lately he's been extremely bored and not even video games or an Ace Savvy comic can get him out of his funk.
Maybe going with Lisa's friend wasn't such a bad idea.
"Okay I'm listening."
"Well Lincoln I know this is going to be hard for you and it will be the first time you will be away from home without any of us but your father and I think that this is what's best for you to help you feel better and hopefully you can accomplish so much helping Lisa's friend Professor Magnolia."said Rita who didn't feel right on the inside even though she felt like this was the best thing for Lincoln.
"So that's what Lisa meant on the flyer. Well I won't and I am not interested since I'm the only one who picked up the flyer and went to go see Lisa. And as much as I hate to admit it she's right, I do need something akin to a challenge."said Lincoln before taking a deep breath
"Alright I'll go, frankly a change of paces exactly what I need so when do I leave?"asked Lincoln wanting to know when he should prepare his stuff.
"Tomorrow morning we will be driving to the Great Lake City airport so pack anything you need."said Rita who was trying her best not to cry.
"Great I'll start packing right now."said Lincoln as he got up from the bed and walked out of the room.
Rita meanwhile just laid down on her bed after feeling like she was almost going to collapse as she wasn't sure this was such a good idea as she wasn't so used to having one of her children leave the nest so early.
Lori leaving for college with stressful enough for her and her husband but now with Lincoln leaving for some new land for the summer... it was almost too much to take.
Lynn Sr was having similar thoughts as the thought of Lori leaving for college was very stressful for him and he honestly did not want her to go. He tried to rationalize that Lincoln would only be gone for the summer but still at least three months without his son was very stressful for him.
Meanwhile Lincoln made his way to the second floor and was going to his room when Lisa came out of her room holding some kind of strange cube and what looked like a debit card.
"Here you will need these for your."said Lisa confusing Lincoln as he had no idea what these items were as Lisa handed them to him.
"Thanks Lisa... I guess but I got to ask what do you get out of it?"asked Lincoln who knew Lisa wouldn't do anything unless she benefited in some way.
"All in due time elder male sibling all in due time."said Lisa cryptidly as she retreated back to her room.
"I guess I won't know what's going on until I get on the plane or whatever to get to that Island near the United Kingdom."said Lincoln as he entered his room and began packing a duffel bag full of his belongings.
Lincoln packed up underwear, socks, snacks, an Ace Savvy comic, and Ace Savvy action figure, a photo of his family, and other items he thinks he will need for his journey.
"Okay I don't know what you are but if Lisa says I need you I'm definitely going to need you."said Lincoln as he put the strange cube in debit card into his duffel bag.
"Okay all I can do now is wait for dinner."said Lincoln who laid back down on his bed waiting for dinner as this was probably going to be the last time he would have dinner for his family at least for the summer.

A short while later the kid's were called down for dinner. Soon after the call for dinner was made did the sound of a stampede going down the stairs could be heard as every child of the Loud family round down the stairs and quickly made their way to their usual spots on the dining table.
As soon is everyone sat down did Lynn Sr serve his famous Lynnguine and clams to every member of his family's plate.
"This is a special dinner not only because Lincoln will be going to middle school and Lori will be going up for college."said Lynn senior before wiping away a tear before continuing.
"But this will also be Lincoln's last meal with his family for the summer as tomorrow he's heading off to an island off the coast of England to help out Lisa's colleague and friend Professor Magnolia."said Lynn Sr as he raised his glass of soda in a toast.
"Here here."said everyone who raise their glasses as well in celebration for Lincoln's big accomplishment.
"Well without further ado let's eat."said Lynn Sr as everyone began showing down on his food and based on the looks on their faces they were enjoying every minute of it bringing him joy.
"So Lincoln are you nervous?"asked Lynn.
"Yeah a little but I feel like a change of pace is something I need."said Lincoln as he finished the noodles in his mouth.
"I guess everyone needs a change of scenery every now and again bra. You better be careful out there."said Luna.
"Luna don't worry I'm always careful and after growing up in this house I should be ready for anything."said Lincoln with everyone else nodding their heads in agreement.
Dinner went by well for the rest of the evening and as soon as everyone finished that they finally go to their respective rooms.
In their room Lynn Sr and Rita were laying in their bed wondering if they did the right thing.
"I'm still not sure if I'm ready for this Lynn."said Rita who was having second thoughts.
"I know honey I'm feeling the same thing too but this is what's best for Lincoln and besides he wants to do it after all they say a change in scenery is the best way to get rid of someone's funk."said Lynn Sr remembered having similar experiences when he was Lincoln's age.
"I know he wants to do this and it's probably for the best but I'm still not used to this."said Rita with much uncertainty.
"I know with Lori leaving for Fairway University as soon as summer is over and Lincoln leaving for this Galar tomorrow morning this is very hard on me as well. But you got to remember Lincoln is quite mature for his age and he knows what he's doing and this is something he wants to do and it's best as parents to agree with him."said Lynn Sr wisely.
"I guess your right Lynn. As much as this hurts this is something Lincoln needs to do and I just have to accept it."said Rita as the two began cuddling.

Meanwhile in his room Lincoln was just lying awake staring at the ceiling wondering what tomorrow was going to bring.
"I wonder what I will be doing in this Galar region?"wondered Lincoln as he drifted off to sleep wondering what tomorrow was going to bring.
[With the Loud parents and Lincoln aboard Lisa's plan has gone off without a hitch. Soon Lincoln will be going off to the Galar region to experience firsthand the world of Pokemon. What will tommorow bring? That it's for later as the journey continues]

Man this is harder than I thought but then again I like a good challenge and I hope you're enjoying the story.
Next chapter Lincoln will officially set off towards the Galar region.
What will he experience when he first sets foot onto the land of Pokémon?
