Alright I'm back. So I made some mistakes with my writing last chapter, I guess I didn't catch them when I went back through it (I did go through it at like 4 in the morning)Oh well, thank you for pointing that out. I was also asked if Blu would be in here, yes but this is a story about jewels life before she meets Blu. There will be a little extra content with them in the aviary that we didn't get to see in the movie. You guys will just have to read and find out! With all that done, back to the story! (PSA!!! if your a younger reader, there is some inappropriate conversations in this chapter, nothing M rated just not really great for the youngins. It's only one line)

The sun was slowly falling from the sky, hiding itself behind the lush trees of the rainforest. Night time was approaching the macaw tribes. Three birds stood on the edge of their home, looking at magnificent sunset. Eduardo held his newly hatched baby girl in his wing. June was cutting a mango with her talon to feed Jewel.

"Should I get another mango for you?" Eduardo said, turning around to face June.

"No it's fine, I'll just have the other half" June's voice didn't seem like she was too sure about her response.

"Alright if you say so" Eduardo shrugged his wings and walked into the living room. He sat down on the couch that June moved in earlier.

"So that football tournament, anything exciting going to happen this year?" June asked, finishing cutting up the mango.

"Um, I guess the prize this year is a Brazil nut grove? I really wasn't paying attention.." Eduardo chuckled knowing he really should have listened.

"Were you thinking about this hot mom bod?" June laughed as she brought the chopped mangos over to Jewel and Eduardo.

"Yeah, I was also thinking about how your going to feed our daughter." Eduardo laughed with a slightly disguised look. He handed jewel over to June.

"Oh sweet heart, you had to do it when you were young." Said June

" True, but It's not the greatest thing to watch. I'm glad I don't remember my mother doing that." Eduardo chuckled

"Have you gone and told them about having the egg yet?" June asked stroking the baby birds head.

"No I haven't, I've just been busy." Eduardo knew he had to do it. He was overwhelmed with taking care of June and the tribe, he had totally forgot to tell them.

"Well I think tomorrow you should go and see them." June said. she began putting the little chicks of mangos in her beak.

Eduardo got up and walked to the edge of the hollow, the sun was almost underneath the horizon, still giving an orange glow across the rainforest. Eduardo spotted a small flock of birds coming over the trees. He couldn't quite tell if they were Spix's, or other birds. Soon they got closer and closer into the tribe, Eduardo could definitely tell now that they were in fact, Spix's macaws.

"Why would there be a flock out this late? I didn't send anyone out tonight." Eduardo thought for a second but soon remembered who they were. Mimi, his one and only sibling had a group of birds that were into feather care and nature remedy's. She planned a trip with some of the other birds in the tribe along with a couple from the other tribes to have a 'beatification escape'. Eduardo didn't understand why they would wanna leave the tribe to be 'beautified', but whatever makes his sister happy he was okay with. The flock broke up and went their separate ways, probably going back to their respected hollows. Except for Mimi, whom was flying straight towards Eduardo. She landed right in front of Eduardo, almost knocking him off the edge.

"Did she have the eggs yet?!?!! Oh how many are there Eduardo??? Did any hatch yet?!?!" Mimi grabbed Eduardo shaking him for any answer like a magic ball.

"Easy easy, nice to see you too Mimi! Yes she hatched just about an hour ago." Eduardo said, laughing at his sister.

"It's a girl!!! Oh let me see my baby niece!" Mimi pulled Eduardos wing, dragging him into the hollow. June just finished feeding Jewel and was cleaning her beak from the mangos juice.

"This is our precious Jewel." June said holding Jewel in her wings

"Awww she really is, what's her name?" Mimi turned to Eduardo with a giant smile. June and Eduardo both looked at each other confused.

"What? Have you not named her??" Mimi suddenly turned angry at the two birds.

"Her name is Jewel Mimi, our precious Jewel" Eduardo slapped his wing into his beak and shaked his head.

"Oooohhhh, what a lovely name. can I hold her?" Mimi opened her wings to June as she gently placed jewel in her wings.

"You were never the smartest out of the family" Eduardo laughed as he hugged Mimi.

"And who said you were, that big head just has air in it!" Mimi tapped Eduardo feathery head with her free wing. June laughed at the two siblings. The two birds sat on the couch, Mimi was astounded by the little blue bird she held in her arms. Jewel looked happy to be surrounded by so many birds, she especially seemed to enjoy being held by Mimi's puff feathers. Mimi looked over at her brother, she had a secret power to know exactly what her brother was feeling, and also if he was telling the truth.

"Eduardo, you got something on your mind?" Mimi looked at Eduardo with caring eyes."

"Yeah! I'm surrounded by my family!" Eduardo three his wings in the air to cover up his true feelings.

"That's total pigeon droppings! What's wrong Eduardo?" Mimi placed her wing on Eduardos shoulder. He wasn't ready to confess how he felt, especially since his own wife didn't even know.

"Well...I...I don't know, I'm just upset we only had one egg...I was hoping to have a big family, like our parents wanted. And I guess I'm a little upset that we had a girl instead of a boy..." Eduardo head fell low, like it was about to fall of his shoulders. He was waiting to hear June's wrath about how he should be grateful to have at least one baby bird and to stop thinking about the next tribe leader. He didn't get any of that, he got something else. Eduardo was surprised to feel a warm, familiar feeling on his head. He felt a soft wing pull the bottom of his beak up, he saw June kneeling down in front of him.

"Honey I was thinking you felt that way. I know it's a disappointment that you didn't get a son, we can always try again. And even if we don't have another baby, I know you will be able to teach this little everything you know, I have a feeling she's going to be just like you baby." June gently placed jewel in his wings and kissed him on the beak.

Jewel looked up at Eduardo with a huge smile, she tried to reach her little wing out to touch Eduardos face. Tears began to fall from Eduardos eyes, he was looking right into jewel turquoise eyes, the same eyes as her mother's.

"Maybe your the son I needed" Eduardo said in his head. He pulled Jewel in his chest, tears now drenched his feathers.

"I'll love you like a son Jewel, I'll love you with all my heart" Eduardo gently whispered into Jewels ear.
